The Scrag Mt trail head is close at hand, as is the Tibetan Buddhist Institute with trails. Great place to stay! There were only two of us but the house is huge. Erich was a helpful host and gave us a detailed rundown of the house and was very accommodating.
The house and property were beautiful and well maintained. Erich was very kind and helpful with any questions we had. We would definitely come back another time.
I could not have asked for a better experience for our family vacation. It was my husband and I, two of our daughters and their spouses and three of our grandchildren, twin girls, 5 and my grandson, 12. We all loved it. The girls didn't want to leave. The home itself is amazing with all kinds of treasures to discover and the property beautiful and serene. Seeing the milky way and shooting stars was such a treat. I would love to go back! Erich and his family were wonderful and provided fresh vegetables from their garden, knowledge of the area and what was available and quickly responsive. We had great campfires and just loved the beautiful porch.
We enjoyed our stay, the house, and the property. Lovely area and walks nearby. One note: the owners' house is just across the driveway, in easy sight of the porch and all windows on that side. Conversations, noises, and music can be easily heard. Worth knowing if privacy is important to you / your family!
Erich and his family were very accommodating and attentive. They were available if needed, but not in a way that was intrusive. The first night by the pond, as we started the fire pit, we had the amazing experience and privilege of hearing one of Erich’s daughter playing Irish music on the fiddle!! We found the accommodations to be exactly as we expected. The large porch was perfect for any meal (or a coffee!), even on a rainy day. Our eight-year-old in particular enjoyed chess on the porch and both he and his four-year-old sister loved the keyboard and piano. Our visit was in mid-July, so we were a little wary about not having air conditioning. However, the house was always comfortable (daytime temps got up to low to mid 80’s). We definitely recommend staying at this beautiful home and property. It was exactly what we needed for a change of scenery!
We had five wonderful days and really enjoyed this place. Very spacious, cozy and has everything we needed to relax. Skiing was great as well. Thank you for having us and our dogs. We hope to return again.
This was a great location for a weekend away. The home is beautiful and the hosts very accommodating.
Mesmerizing, We highly recommend.
Great place and Erich was extremely friendly and helpful We had some great conversations about the area and how he built this and some other homes. Great trip great host
The pictures don't do the property justice I tried taking my own and then realized no picture can capture the love that has gone into building this beautiful home. We used it as a base to explore Vermont but I was secretly glad for the one overcast day we had when we decided to just stay home and relax. Puzzles at the dining table, coffee and guitars on the porch (my son brought his along and serenaded me) and piano playing in the living room, a stroll to the duck pond and a leisurely wander thought the back roads to check out the neighboring properties. All of Erich's recommendations were wonderful and I felt very well cared for and left completely restored. I'm already fantasizing about my next trip there.
Place was great! If I could give more than 5 stars I would definitely. Erich was amazing, always making sure we had everything we needed and more. The house was great and cozy.
Great house, very comfortable stay.
Beautiful, comfortable and casual house in a beautiful setting. Erich and his family are perfect hosts: there when you need them to be, but not when you don’t. Very gracious and accommodating. We had 8 people staying and had more than enough room and found it better than we expected. We will definitely come back when we’re in the area!
Absolutely wonderful location and house. Erich has built an incredible home that offers many amenities with lots of room to relax and is perfect for a couple as well as families. He was a great host in communications and in ensuring we were well informed on the place and had what we needed. Highly recommend staying there and am looking forward to when we can get back that way again. Thanks again, Erich!
