Rentals on Toledo Bend Lake**Stay in a REAL log cabin! Log cabin inside and out - this rustic, spacious lakefront home offers spectacular views and all the comforts. There is a long pier that you can fish from - or from the huge boat house. The boat house is a great place to just spend the day - if you're not out in your boat - plenty of room for lounging or getting a suntan. Cajun Cabin is located close to Pendleton Bridge. Short distance to Cypress Bend State Park and Cypress Bend Resort for fishing and golfing.
Cabin was clean. Dock was nice. A little off the beaten path.
Enjoyed every second - can’t wait to rebook!
Not the owners fault but the carport was covered with mud from next door construction. Inside is beautiful but no dining table. No WiFi and poor ATT cell reception. Fantastic dock with beautiful sunsets. The walk from the dock to the house is steep. Elderly and the disabled will have a real problem with this. We still throughly enjoyed our stay.
This property is amazing. We all had a great time. Will use again!
This cabin was even better in person and exceeded our expectations. Nicely decorated. It was clean. It was in a great location. Not far drive from store. Had the most beautiful sunsets and beautiful open view of the lake from the home. We enjoyed sitting on the porch with my 92 year old mother enjoying the amazing view and also watching the birds of all sorts and squirrels come to the feeder. The cabin was beautiful. It had so many amenities. The large dock was a plus to fish and park our boat or just sit out on and relax. We enjoyed riding the kayak. The only drawback was that the adjacent boat ramp was too steep to dock our 24 footer and we almost could not make the turn into the property with the boat and trailer, but did and was able to park at the top of the hill. We ended up parking the boat and trailer overnight at the local state park for a few bucks and felt safe doing so. We came with our adult kids, 5 of us, and had plenty of room. Although a dining table would be nice. The bar was not large enough to eat at, but we managed. But overall a 9.5/10. Will definitely be returning. As for all of the other complaints in reviews, we did not have issues with any of that. Thanks again for great memories!
Loved the cabin. Very at home cozy feel. Lots of room. Pretty view.
Nice place. As advertised.
Nice job, our entire group was pleased with the stay. We had three different family groups within my family all came and went at different times and all enjoyed the stay!
Expectations were blown away
The dock over the water makes for a great spot to relax and watch the beautiful sunsets!
Beautiful log cabin on the lake with very large boat house. The kids (ages 5 - 16) enjoyed the lake with our raft and kayak. The sunsets were very beautiful and colorful; they can be enjoyed from the boat house or from the cabin porch area. The fishing was good directly from the boat house. Excellent family getaway for outdoor activities.
Very quite house with beautiful view of Toledo Bend lake. Awesome sunset. Will stay again!
Property was great, what a great sunsets we had.
The Cajun cabin was a lovely place for our COVID-safe Thanksgiving gathering for 4 family members due to the terrific deep porch with 180-degree views of the lake -- even though it was cool and rainy during our stay. The cabin decor is dated, but it was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked for us to prepare our Thanksgiving meal. Here are some changes that would make it even better: Leave instructions for using Direct TV. We called the agency for guidance and they kindly stopped by to assist. However, printed instructions would be very helpful. Provide chairs that can be taken to the dock. There was one folding camp chair in the laundry room. The photo on VRBO showing tables and chairs should be removed from the site. It mispresents what is there. There is no place to sit on the dock. Label the light switches. It took a while to figure this out. And it took a while to locate the electric sockets in the kitchen which were literally UNDER the cabinets. Have the cleaning crew verify that all the light bulbs are working. We eventually sorted it out by swapping a few bulbs. Provide cushions for chairs on the desk. They aren't very comfy for sitting for long. Perhaps you don't sit much if you rent the cabin in the summer. But when it's cold and rainy, that's most of what you do. Repair the entrance to the property from the road. The road is rough (broken asphalt or concrete) and at a weird angle. We were lucky our car didn't drag on the bottom.
We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house. The kids loved the loft and the pier. The property management team was super nice and helpful. Thanks for a nice getaway!
A much needed vacation at a beautifully designed cabin. The lakeside location was perfect. The property manager was very responsive to my texts.
My family had a lot of fun at the cajun cabin, however, there were two minor issues. I called the manager and she was very nice and had the issues resolved.
Had a few minor issues upon arrival but the manager had someone there within minutes to take care of it. Ended up being a great weekend. Would book again in the future.
Our family of 5 adults (2 seniors) enjoyed a relaxing fall weekend. The beautiful view and working fireplace were key for us. We loved it - would stay again!
Our first time to Toledo Bend was perfect. Grandkids loved the casual log cabin and spent lots of time on the great pier and dock, swimming and fishing.
Loved the stay. Very beautiful home and great view. Only thing I would change would be the AC. The temp on the inside would not cool down. But over all, very wonderful stay. Would definitely stay again.
We really enjoyed our stay. everything was as advertised... Boat launch was right across for the cabin which made it nice. The kids loved the boat house which had a stereo and fans so it was so nice to sit and watch the sunset! Its in deep water so the kids could swim! Oh and the wrap around covered porch is awesome! We will be going back!
Not a boat friendly area. We booked this cabin so we could leave our bass boat in the water and not have to take it out constantly. There was nothing mentioned about not being able to use the boat lift. If this was mentioned we would have not booked this cabin. Also the boat launch is very, very steep to launch your boat. If you don’t have four wheel drive. Launch else where. The drive way was very difficult for a F-350 pulling a 22’ Triton Bass Boat. We scraped the bottom of our new bass boat trailer every time we pulled out of the drive way. The cabin is great for a family with out a boat. The flies swarm in the back door if you want to go out side and enjoy the evening, do to the lights. So turn lights off in Kitchen and on back porch if you go outside after sunset. This is a place to read a book, enjoy fishing at the peer and relaxing.
The only thing I would change if I could would be adding WiFi. Also, if it were possible to control the spider population, I would do that too. Maybe the addition of a fire pit would be nice too. All in all, we really enjoyed the cabin. Thank you.
This is a very nice location on a shaded lot with a nice pier and porch. There are very few amenities listed so you need to be sure and call if you want specifics. I inquired about a TV and Wifi and was told they had both. Upon arrival, the TV didn't work, and there was no Wifi. One of our events was an LSU tailgate party which without TV and Wifi, we couldn't do. While the cabin was very nice, the interior is dark and many of the light switches didn't turn on anything. So many lights were out had to use iPhone light to see a number on refrigerator to call Dowden Reality. . Really should consider adding lights. Even the lights they had dimly lit the cabin at best. Ended up getting moved by the Bowden folks to a villa that was available. Thanks Mrs. Gladys, you really went out of your way to make our stay a memorable event. It was unfortunate because we really liked the location and setting of the cabin.
Not worth the money
Beautiful place to relax and enjoy fishing!
We loved the log cabin in the woods, and right on the lake. House was awesome, had everything we needed. Beds are super comfortable. The boat house was great. Caught catfish right off the dock. Had a great time.
Top 5 reasons that we will MOT be Renting the Log Cabin again: 1. You do not receive your deposit back. They hold it until you rent the same home again. 2. The toilet seat in the master bath is cracked on both sides and pinches you when you sit down. Not nice. We used the other restroom, not convenient. 3. There were Many bulbs out of the light fixtures both inside and outside of the home. We spent our own money to replace the ones that were vital to being able to see at night. 3. The boat traffic is CONSTANT and very loud because it is located on the main lake with the red and green directly in front of the home. 4. The driveway is difficult to maneuver if you have a F250 pulling a 21 ft. Skeeter. 5. Boat launch in the neighborhood is also difficult to maneuver and very steep, even for a lifetime fisherman. Plan on using Cypress Bend instead and keeping your boat in the boat house boat lift. Best thing about the home is the boat dock and deck. It accommodates a group comfortably.
