Our family of 5 loved this house! On the first day my kids discovered the skate park one block away, and every spare moment they were up there on scooters having a blast! Walkable to downtown shops and restaurants, the cottage also had all the extras we needed (soaps, kitchen supplies, etc) We were very comfortable after skiing at Mt Ashland and Mt Shasta. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit our friends in Ashland!
Great location. Easy walk to Co-op. Stairs are steep and not recommended for seniors. Master bedroom very comfortable as was master bath. House nicely furnished and comfortable. Appreciated linens to cover furniture for pets who want to cuddle.
Went to Ashland to see my Son in a play at SOU & was able to bring our dog, we loved it.. very clean & loved the front yard fenced so the dog could enjoy checking out the outside ( at home the fence is too high so he can’t see anything, he was in heaven ) will stay again !! Thanks
The cottage was pretty large for the four of us. It was a great distance from downtown - easy to walk and get everywhere. The place was clean and the check-in and check-out instructions were clear. There wasn't anything we needed that wasn't provided. Debby was a great communicator and helped us shuffle our dates around when we needed. We'd be very happy to stay here again.
Charming, well maintained, and provisioned historic cottage. 125 years old but all updated and comfortable. Perfect little fenced in front yard if you bring a dog, which the owners also prepare and provide for! The location makes it easy to explore Ashland by foot and really enjoy the community. Nice to be close but in a neighborhood. Plus it’s only a 2 hour gorgeous drive from Crater Lake- well worth it if you have the time. And lots of other Rogue Valley adventures.
A pet friendly place and the dog park is just down the street. Kids can play in the grammar school play ground (after school of course). For a 4-5 yo this would be a bit of a walk. We have been coming annually for numerous years and each time it seems something new has been added (improved upon). We plan on continuing to come back annually.
convenient to walk to plays. Very clean. Stairs are steep to second floor as described by owner. A party of 4 can stay on first floor by using the hide-a bed sofa and master suite.
Great Location! Very nice house!
Abrams Cottage was the perfect respite for me and for my family. Comfortable home with all needed amenities. Close enough to walk to OSF theaters yet far enough away to be a relaxing. The home easily accommodated my husband and I, plus our adult sons. All in my family agree that this should be our annual Ashland retreat location.
The home was very nice, comfortable and clean. I would definitely return.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the house. Kitchen is reasonable equipped, and everything worked! Window opened, doors were quiet, bathrooms clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The only negative was there was road construction going on at the time, and we had some early morning noise. Road noise was not a problem as Helman is a neighborhood street, so cars are traveling around 25 mph and coming up to a stop sign. We plan to return later this year. Thanks Debby for a lovely place to stay.
The cottage is located in a beautiful little neighborhood within walking distance to downtown. You'll have everything you need to feel right at home. Deby has done a great job with decorating as well as providing you with detailed information. My husband and I definitely enjoyed our time there.
We enjoyed our stay at the house - everything was comfortable and great
We loved Abram’s cottage, perfectly set up to welcome us to Ashland for a brief winter vacation. Very clean, well stocked with all the necessities and within an easy walk of number of shops and restaurants. Debby responded quickly and was there to help whenever needed. Thank you!
Fantastic roomy cottage! Everything you might need is there and it's in a perfect location in town. Very accommodating of our canine child, she enjoyed laying by the fireplace (gas stove) while it snowed outside. Our toddler loved exploring the upstairs room and taking baths in the too-too old claw foot bath tub. Would love to visit again!
Great little place, clean, quiet and very cozy.
Beautiful home, very clean and well stocked with all essentials. Thank you!
We enjoyed our stay in Ashland. The cottage was great!
Debby has such an awesome place! The Abram's Cottage is comfortable and perfectly set up for visitors. The kitchen had everything you could want/need, and the beds were so comfortable. The home is well equipped to handle dogs, and provides blankets to cover the furniture so your furry friends can join you on the couch. The cottage has a cute fenced-in front yard, and is less than 2 minutes away from a nice little park. It was perfect for my dogs, and they loved walking around the neighborhood. A 10 minute walk will get you to a nice shopping/eating area that has a huge variety of delicious options. If you have a chance to stay at Debby's awesome cottage I highly recommend it.
We loved it, will stay again in the future!
We enjoyed our stay here!! It was perfect for our dogs - the owner was great to work with, quick to reply with questions, and the kitchen was well appointed. It is walking distance from the fun downtown of Ashland and we enjoyed riding our bikes all over town. The only down side is that the house is on a busy corner so there is a fair amount of car braking/accelerating noise from the stop sign. Where we live the street is super quite so the road noise here was new to us - folks coming to stay here who are already used to a bit of road noise probably won't even notice! We would be happy to stay here again next time we are in Ashland with our pups! Thank you!
We loved out stay at Abrahms Cottage. It is clean, spacious for a cottage and very nicely provisioned. Air conditioning that worked, which we needed, fans and peace & quiet. Best of all, it is perfectly set up for a dog. The surfaces are clear of tempting items a dog can investigate and grab. The doggie amenities were thoughtful. Our dog does not get up on furniture but since WE do, we appreciated that there were sheets to cover this shared furniture for dog use so it would remain nice for future human guests. The house has a wonderful location, walking distance to the Co-op, great food and the OSF. There were two nice dog parks just blocks away and down Helman Street, goats, miniature horses and full sized equines to watch during the walk. The owners have thoughtfully provided all of the things you need in the kitchen, and more.
Cottage was perfect size for our family of 4 and well appointed for a long weekend stay. We'll definitely be back!
This was our 5th annual trip to Ashland. We choose different places each visit. We enjoyed the stay for the most part although it is situated next to a busy street, and is also situated next to a sometimes loud industrial park. I am a frequent user of VRBO properties for my work. I could not believe what happened to us during this visit. Mid-way through our visit I was contacted by email by the owner that a tree would need to be removed from the property, and that the crew would be at the house at 8 am the morning of our departure. Although she was apologetic about this, this event proved to be a huge inconvenience for all, especially as we were preparing for departure. We moved our cars out of the driveway as instructed to accommodate the tree removal truck (This proved uncomfortable, as we all received nasty notes on our windshields from the neighbors “do not park in front of my house”.) The tree crew’s large truck blocked the door to the garage. It also blocked the entrance to the house where we went in and out. Our privacy was sorely infringed with the crew’s presence. Because of the large truck took up the entire driveway area, we could not put the bikes away properly, and we could not get by it to put out the garbage and recycling. The housecleaner arrived at 10 promptly and informed us that we need to check out to ready for the incoming guests. We were challenged to get everything together for departure due to the chaos of workers. Unbelievable. The tree removal activity was so noisy, we chose to go off- property for breakfast. (We had not planned to do so, however, could not stand the commotion) To top all of this off another one of the owner’s contractors entered the house PRIOR TO CHECK OUT when one of us was in the shower! The owner did apologize for this, and sent me a Starbucks gift card. This feels hardly sufficient for the horrible inconveniencet these workers and property maintenance personnel created. We were incensed by the situation and incredulous that these events took place while the owner had tenants in her property. Before staying in this home be assured that the owner does not plan to do maintenance work during your visit. Very disappointed by all this activity, and found it a horrible way to end an otherwise delightful visit to the Rogue Valley.
Great location for walking to shows, dinner and shopping.
We have a pet and it is close to the dog park. One can walk to the festival but is a slight uphill climb or a quick drive to downtown. Been here several times and it seems each year they have improved it for the better. An FYI, the stairs up to the loft area which is big is a steep climb up so if stairs are an issue beware. Kitchen is well stocked. We will of course be back again.
Abram's Cottage is an easy walk to downtown and OSF, the Food Co-op and the dog park (less than one mile straight down the road). There was plenty of space and the front yard is fenced. It was very clean and comfortable. We usually stay at the Plaza Inn or Bard's Inn but with the dogs, it is so much nicer to be in a home. The stairs going up to the other bedroom are definitely steep but that room is so cute and offers privacy. There are lots of windows for fresh air. Thanks for the great place to stay!
We had a Great stay at Abram's Cottage at the corner of Hersey and Helman in Ashland. It was a perfect location to walk into the town plaza or the theatres. The house has a well equipped kitchen and the BBQ was very easy to use. The owner is very nice and accommodating. Loved it!
I haven't slept so well in a long time. And this place had everything we needed - space, privacy, well stocked kitchen. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
We have stayed here four times and hope to return every year. This house is clean, very well equipped, and just a few minutes walk from OSF and restaurants. The owners are very responsive and easy to work with and have obviously thought of everything to make their house welcoming and comfortable. We love sitting on the front porch and having the gated yard, since our dog usually travels with us.
This place had everything we wanted. Comfortably sleeps 6 people and has a comfort of staying at home. The owner was very helpful and even adjusted our dates without charging us extra as we had change in plans. If you have a family and would like to cook your own food , This is the place. The only regret we have is we couldn't stay there for longer. Arun Los Angeles
Stairs to the second floor might be an issue for some but not for us. Owner was very accommodating.
We loved the house. Teriffic location. Walked to grocery store, gym, bakery, restaurants and theatre. The house was perfect to take our two corgis with us. They loved the walk every morning to the park just down the street. We would stay here again absolutely and appreciate the owners having such a great pet friendly house
We had such an amazing long weekend in Ashland this past weekend. The house is adorable and has everything one needs to make the stay perfect. We brought our two older dogs who had no problems with the house as the main rooms are all on one level and the front yard is fenced. The master bed is incredibly cozy and the house is perfect for a couple or small family with dogs. Thank you!
Wonderful cottage, great location short walk to downtown. Owner is great to work with!
Thoughtful host.. easy entry/exit rules... cute house...accommodating😀
We had a great time and would give this property 4 or 5 stars if not for possibly illegal charges for our service animal. Is it legal for VRBO to charge fees for service animals? I know hotels are not allowed to charge the fees that VRBO charged me.
Great location, short walk to town. Near dog park & miles of trails. Nice neighborhood. Debbie is very responsive to any questions or needs. Nice layout of home with everything needed for a summer or winter stay.
Four of us booked this Ashland home for a weekend and really enjoyed our stay. The house has plenty of details that make the stay feel very welcoming, from well maintained plants in the front, to plays by Shakespeare in the book shelf, and blankets and bowls for our dog. Everything was as stated in the listing, clean, and well taken care of. Debby was communicative as well as welcoming. We will happily stay here again next opportunity we have.
Our group of 3 adults and our small dachshund came to Ashland to enjoy The OSF Shakespeare Festival and the beautiful town of Ashland. Debby's cottage was perfect! It was charming and clean and spacious. We loved the fenced in front yard for our four-legged buddy! It was about a 10-15 minute walk to town and the Festival and even closer to the Ashland Co-op for groceries. And Debby was wonderful and the booking process was very easy!
We had a wonderful time at Debby's vacation house in Ashland Oregon. We could walk just about every where we wanted to go in town. There were bikes available to ride that we enjoyed and in addition rode along Bear Creek Trail one morning. We hiked, biked, went boating and enjoyed the plays and the pre - play entertainment. The food coop that was in walking distance as well was wonderful, busy and well stocked with organic produce. The house itself was comfortable, relaxing, stock with local information books, and the kitchen was a full kitchen with a nice assortment of oils, vinegars, sugar, spices, etc. The hostess was promoted it getting back to us and timely with signing up and information as our visit approached. Excellent!
This was our third year at Abram's Cottage and our stay with a teenage grandchild was excellent, as usual. The teenagers love the private loft space, I love the fully equipped kitchen my husband loves the peace and quiet. We'll be back.
Great location, wonderful home, and Debby was super easy to work with. We will definitely be back.
This place was great! Two adults, two kids and a small dog had plenty of space. I loved how easy everything was to understand. No complicated locks, wifi, tv. Just simple and easy. The fenced in front yard was great for the dog. The location was perfect to walk to restaurants, theaters, shops. Debby was very responsive with questions via email, which I really appreciated. We stayed here while our son was checking out Southern Oregon University, and I'm sure we will be staying here again when we come to visit him in the future. Thanks for everything.
We have rented many properties through VRBO, and this is one of the very best. The location is great for walking into town, to the food coop, and walking trails. The house is clean, very well equipped and was comfortable for us, as two couples. Debby was easy to work with and very responsive when we needed to get in touch with her. The only thing to be aware of is that the 2nd bedroom has 2 queen beds upstairs (and the steps are pretty steep), but the bathroom is downstairs. It's one of those places that shows pride of ownership!
This rental was right where you want to be...within walking distance to everything! It was also clean, warm, and cozy and had everything you need! The whole experience was very easy and comfortable! Thanks for a great stay in Ashland!
Owner was very responsive.
My friends and I were very impressed by this cute house. We walked in and it was well decorated, nicely kept up. The floors were nice and new, the kitchen dining area had high ceilings that felt very open and the master bedroom was really cozy looking. It has a nice front yard and porch that we would hang out on in the mornings and a side deck area where there was a barbecue and an outdoor eating area (unfortunately, we never got a chance to use it). The master bathroom looked recently remodeled and then entire house seemed very fresh. The house has both central heat/ac and a wood burning stove. The only thing I would caution about it is the stairs to the second level with double beds are very narrow and steep. But that wasn't an issue for us and everything worked out wonderfully. The owner seemed friendly and had posted several helpful tips around the house that made our stay easier. Highly recommended. I would definitely stay here again.
Wonderful place to stay. The owners make the stay very easy.
We had a great time, the place was adorable and very well equipped, plus within walking distance to everything. Thank you!
The cottage was exactly as was listed on Home Away, and was the perfect amount of space for four adults and a two year old boy. We loved the fenced in front yard, the comfortable bed, the great kitchen, and being so close to OSF's campus. This will definitely be at the top of our list of places to stay next time we come to Ashland.
Cozy, cute and functioning! We enjoyed the 2 BR, 2 Baths for the separation on the two couples. The LR was comfortable and the dining and kitchen just right. I imagine winter stays would be equally enjoyable with the beautiful stove fireplace. The walk was about a half mile to town and the theater but that was great exercise. I would love to come again.
Our first stay at Abrams Cottage was fine, our second year even better. The owners actually respond to suggestions and the additions of blackout curtains in the bedrooms and additional cooking pans made the difference. The walk to the theaters is just long enough to balance the hours of sitting (we see 6 plays in 3 days). The loft is very difficult for seniors (us) but perfect for teenagers who like their own space. The steep stairs might be worrisome for small children. We are already planning our 2016 trip to Ashland.
Out of all the houses we have rented, this is our favorite. Very clean and comfortable and well stocked. It is obvious that the owners have considered everything that might make their guests' stay enjoyable and comfortable. The fenced front yard was great for our dog. We loved relaxing on the nice front porch, which is shaded and has lovely wisteria across the front. Great place!
This was a perfect place to host a gathering of our Ashland friends. Centrally located, walking distance to everything. The fenced-in yard was perfect for our dog and there were supplies, such as bowls, poop bags and doggie towels. The house is very, very cute and well stocked. We had a lovely time, and the owners are wonderful.
My family of origin (Parents and sisters) rented this wonderful house for a week. Every year we go somewhere together. It was a time of reminiscing (we used to live in that area) and getting to enjoy everything that Ashland has to offer. We would highly recommend this home to anyone and would love to return someday. The owner is easily accessible before, during and after, which gives great peace of mind is using someone else's home. Some things to consider is the steep stairs. It's doable but may be difficult for some. We enjoyed the outside table and chairs in the secluded BBQ area. Then we had a great idea of moving the table and chairs to the front yard in the evening to take in the neighborhood and enjoy outside. The location is GREAT!!! You can walk anywhere in a very short time. Super fun, wonderful home and memories made! I give this home a Thumbs Up!
We enjoyed the location - within walking distance to Coop and plays and downtown. It was exceptionally clean. The owner was very cooperative in accommodating our requests.
Six of us stayed very comfortably in this lovely house in Ashland. We left our cars at the house and were able to walk everywhere. The kitchen and dining room were more than adequate for us to prepare and eat all of our meals in. The owner was easy and straight forward to work with. I recommend it without reservation. We have stayed there two years in a row, and I suspect we will return next year.
Our family of 5 found the house very comfortable and the location was perfect. It's a quick walk to theaters and restaurants and just down the street a few blocks is a great dog park and the start of the Bear Creek Greenway -- an 18-mile long paved trail -- great for bike rides or long runs. The steep staircase to the second floor bedroom might be uncomfortable for some people. But it's a great rental for travelers with a dog. The front yard is fenced and the homeowner left a doggie-welcome bin with extra leashes, dog blankets to put on the couch if your dog likes to sleep there, dog dishes, etc. We hope to come back.
My family (me, wife, infant and dog) stayed here for two months while I was working at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The location was perfect for my walk to work and for my wife's walk to the dog park with our kid. We had everything we needed in the house and it immediately felt like a home. Quite honestly, we miss it still.
We spent three days here for the holidays. The cottage is located a few blocks from the downtown area, so the car was mostly parked. It's a comfortable home with a nice master bed/bathroom. The kitchen is well stocked and got lots of use during our time in Ashland. The second bathroom is accessed from the kitchen or living room. The second bedroom (with two queens) is located up a flight of steep stairs, so that may be a consideration for some. Our dog loved the fenced front yard, a novelty for him.
My husbans & I found this home very charming, great neighborhood location for walks & very close to just about anything you would want or need. My son got married at the ashland springs hotel & this was a very ideal location to be close to the activities. Also our dogs enjoyed the walks thru the neighborhood. It seems the owners have thought of just about anything you would need. Nice lay out for comfort
This immaculate cottage is easy walking distance to the theaters. The loft is perfect for kids or younger adults; the stairs are pretty steep for seniors. The kitchen is very nice and has every pan and tool you could ever need except a flat bottomed fry pan for bacon and pancakes (I'll bring my own next year when we return). We didn't need to use the air conditioner. The gas grill on the front deck was an added bonus. We have already reserved the cottage for next year.
We had two families in the cottage over an extended weekend, and we had plenty of room for all of us to sleep comfortably and relax at the house when we wanted to. One family slept upstairs (two double beds), while my husband and I took the downstairs. Although there is a nice sized sofa bed, we brought an air mattress with us and put it on the bedroom floor. That way, the living room and dining room/kitchen were available to anyone who was awake late at night (or early in the morning). We fixed breakfast for 7 one morning, and had friends over (breakfast for 9) on another. It was great to be able to walk easily back and forth to the plays and the surrounding restaurants and shops. We discovered that there is a paved trail less than a mile down the road from the cottage, so we could run out the front door, hit the trail and put in a several mile run without dealing with traffic. We would definitely rent this cottage again - it was great! Also, our security deposit was refunded the same day that we checked out. Thanks!
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at the Abrams Cottage in Ashland. The home was comfortable and roomy - even for a group of five. Easy walk to downtown and theater, as well as a nice walk out to the llamas on the edge of town. Interaction with the landlord was easy. My only complaint was I would prefer slightly earlier check-in time and later check-out time (you really don't get full days. We are definitely thinking of making this an annual rendez-vous.
We came to Ashland to see plays and visit family. The cottage was clean and comfortable, with a well stocked kitchen and nice bed downstairs. The owners were swell to work with. Many dining options, but watch out for Monday closures. We liked Sesame and Standing Stone brew pub especially. We'd come back again.
We stayed here during a visit to family for Thanksgiving Weekend 2013 and had a nice, relaxing time. We were 4 adults, and 2 children, and it worked out well for us - one of the kids slept on the sleeper sofa in the living room. We walked to downtown Ashland every day - great coffee spots and restaurants nearby. The neighbor was super friendly - sweet neighborhood overall.
The cottage is extremely well cared for and has a great sense of home away from home. The owners are very kind and on top of everything! It is within walking distance to downtown and all the great shops and restaurants Ashland has to offer. The little patio is wonderful to sit on and because the property is fenced in, we could sit back, relax and let our kids (both under 3) run/toddle around without worry. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay, we will definitely stay here again when we come back to visit family.
The place was very comfortable and well-stocked (found everything we needed - not common in rental places). Set-up is great for a family with children. The adults had their own space and the children enjoyed the loft upstairs. Air-conditioning was a welcome respite and the location is great - pretty close to the Plaza. My children have asthma and allergies but they didn't have any reaction whatsoever because the place was so clean! Debby was a joy to work with. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We hope to be back next year.
Charming but not over the top (which we don't like); well located; spotlessly clean; nice front porch and garden; great central A/C; nice landlady; a place for our dog! Nothing to fault at all. Expect to be back.
This house was perfect for the six of us and as the temp outside was 95+ degrees, the fact that the house had AC was perfect! Nice layout and well stocked.
We loved staying at Abram's Cottage! The house was within walking distance to downtown, the co-op, and the Bear Creek Greenway. The house was super clean with comfortable beds, and the kitchen was well equipped. It was perfect for our Memorial Day Weekend getaway!
Adorable little house in the railroad district. Cute fenced front yard was wonderful for our dog. House is nicely decorated & good floor plan. Spotless!! Well equipped all around. Steep stairs to loft floor not good for little ones FYI Was so happy to find a high chair & playpen! Lifesavers! Owners super nice & helpful. We'll be back!!!
My Mom and my sisters and I had a wonderful time at Abram's cottage. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio nearly every evening and walking into town for the shows. The stairs into the loft are pretty steep, but we managed to navigate them just fine. I definitely will try to stay here again!
Very comfortable accommodations .Enjoyed location for access to the downtown areas. There is a lot of traffic on the street immediately in front of the house .It may be because of a nearby school. However, an outdoor sitting area has been made very private and in nice weather, it is a pleasant spot to dine or sit.
I was lucky enough to grow up in Ashland and still have family in the area. Every once in a while, we get to go home for a visit. It is so nice to have a comfortable place with Ashland charm to stay while we are there. This is the third time that we have stayed at Abrams Cottage. We have loved every visit. It is close enough to walk to down town and far enough away to make you feel like you just belong. There is enough room to have family come for a visit while we are there and all the essentials are included. We like to travel with our dogs when we can and they have been welcome on each visit. We didn't plan ahead early enough one year and had to find a different vacation house. It just was not a home. We will definitely return.
I wanted a home away from home to celebrate my birthday. Abrams Cottage was just that. Clean, warm, and very accessible to good restaurants and entertainment. The added bonus was dealing with the owners. They were more than accommodating. I will file this VRBO rental as a keeper.
this was a very charming, well equipped cottage that is within easy walking distance to most parts of Ashland. it was comfortable ,nicely decorated ,with comfortable beds. Communication with the owners was extremely prompt and easy. I would recommend staying here, especially for a family.
We've been to Ashland a number of times but this time wanted to stay someplace convenient and dog-friendly that would give us more room than a hotel. Abrams Cottage was conveniently located within easy walking distance of grocery stores, restaurants, theaters, and, not least, the dog park and river trail. Now that the renovations have been completed, it should be even more pleasant. The price was good, the house was clean, the owners were very helpful, and overall, we'd recommend it for a family looking for comfortable and pleasant accommodations in central Ashland.
We were lucky enough to rent this home during a busy week in Ashland in mid September. The house is walking distance to downtown, the Co-Op, Lithia Park, and Rogue Valley Runners! We were also close to our nearby friends who were a few blocks away. The home is very spacious and quiet. The kitchen was more than adequate. In fact most of our time was either spent in the kitchen or dining room. There is plenty of street parking in front of the house as well. We would definitely stay here again.
The place was neat and spacious. I came in a party of four. The house offered plenty of space for all of us inside and outside of the house. Short walk to downtown... only took 5 minutes. Throughout our stay, we all kept saying how we could see ourselves living in that house.
This cottage was perfect for four of us spending a few days in Ashland. We enjoyed socializing and playing games at the round dining room table, watching a DVD in the living room, and relaxing on the patio. Although it was a compact cottage, we were also able to sit in different spaces reading (between plays and rafting adventures). We appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and clean and cozy interiors. It was also great to be able to walk into town, or over to the Food Co-op. Though we were there when it was hot, the air conditioning kept us cool. And though we were not too far from railroad tracks, we never heard a train.
