This tiny house is built from a shipping container. Unlike a lot of tiny homes, this one has plenty of electricity and a septic system. There are all the amenities of home in this tiny house. It is a 1-bedroom with a queen bed. The bathroom is more than adequate with a nice shower. The kitchen area has everything you need to make your favorite meal, and there is a comfortable living area with a television.
We are only 5 minutes from downtown Alpine, but a world away from all your worries. Very private, with wonderful mountain views.
Smoking is allowed outside only. Please pick up and dispose of all butts.
We loved the location in Alpine. It is close enough to town but away from all the lights. The nights are so dark and filled with stars. When you first walk in, you are pleasantly surprised at how cozy it is. The kitchen is really well equipped with all the necessities. The couch is comfortable, and it was nice to have satellite TV and wifi. The bathroom has a nice shower to freshen up after the long hikes. Hot water in abundance. The place smelled nice and clean. The oven, however, needed some TLC, and we did not use it. The decorations were really nice, and we loved the windmill clock. The location was perfect for long hikes at the Davis Mountains and a day trip to Big Bend National Park. Communications were fast and great. Our dog and us loved staying here!
Exactly as advertised. Beautiful area and Big Bend National Park is extremely underrated.
I have never stayed in a tiny house and I was really surprised how cozy and comfortable it was! I would definitely stay again!
We loved staying in this tiny house! Quiet, peaceful, private, tranquil... No neighbors, just great views of the hills by day & the stars by night. Far enough from the road that you hear absolutely no traffic while in bed, and with no one else nearby, you forget that you’re less than 5 minutes from town. The interior is much more roomy than I expected, ideal layout & location! Very clean! Would recommend to any couple (+puppers) looking for a quiet getaway. Only negative I can think of is that I wish guests would pick up after their doggos when they go potty close to the house. Will definitely be my go-to stay when visiting the Alpine area.
I loved staying in the container house...super clean and great location. It gets cold in the mornings out there so bring an extra blanket! The owners are easy to reach and respond quickly. I would stay again!
Just perfect for a couples stay. Away from the hustle of the city. Total quietness from all the distraction of everyday life in the city.
Perfect place to get away by yourself or with a spouse. Clean little place with privacy. Great to enjoy the beauty that Alpine has. I would stay again.
Peaceful time spent away from the hustle and bustle of Houston, TX. Property management was extremely pleasant and easy to deal with. Highly recommend!
The inside of this tiny house was perfect. We really enjoyed the views and the stars at night. Great little getaway.
The solitude is blissful and yet town is only 5 minutes away. The mountains are beautiful and the night sky is filled with stars.
This was perfect! I wanted a place where my dog and I could just relax outside away from people. This was everything I hoped for. Close to town, yet far enough out for quiet. The gas grill ran out of gas and I called the property manager. It was taken care of within two hours. The house is very cute and comfortable. Only thing I would suggest is bringing an extra blanket, as early mornings can be cold and the quilts on the bed were not enough for me. Will stay here again!
Perfect place for 2! Perfect tranquility and privacy! We would definitely stay at this clean, amazing, and funicorns property.
Very nice and just right. Need a fan to help move air around.
An amazingly comfortable shipping container with every creature comfort. The solitude was a bonus.....Alpine is a lovely town, the views are gorgeous.
Perfect little place to stay. Beautiful inside and great mountain views. Location was convenient for area sight seeing.
We absolutely loved Off the Beaten Path! The tiny home is large enough for couple with all the comforts of home and a great view! The central location allows for day trips to Fort Davis, McDonald Observatory, Big Bend, Terlingua, Marfa, and Marathon. It was perfect for us and our 14 year old yellow lab!
We loved staying at this tiny container house! This place was just perfect for my husband and I, and we never felt crowded. The views are amazing and the stars at night are unbelievable. We definitely hope to come back someday!
Not the prettiest thing from the outside, but the home was as cozy as could be. The heater worked great (never had to break out the backups) and great views of the surrounding area! I also loved that I could bring along my dog, thank you so much for this gem!
I was lucky enough to live here for 3 months last winter and I loved it so much I returned for a visit with my boyfriend (who proposed on this trip!) This tiny house is well done and more than spacious enough for a couple (and dogs!). The privacy is something you will not find with any other Alpine rental. The landlord is amazing. The views are unparalleled. Every morning and evening you feel like you're in a picture when you see the sunrise and sunset. And the STARS, again, there is no better place to see them. It's hard to explain, but this tiny house is such a special place that gives you the full Alpine experience in the best way possible. We will be back soon!
The place is as advertised. The bed is comfortable, satellite TV for the times when you just want to sit on the couch and be distracted; also, there is a couch. The weather was mild when I was there, but based on the size of the place, I think the provided AC and heating options would be sufficient in all but the most extreme of temperatures. Of course, when I checked out, I left something behind and they got it to me without hesitation. My only complaint is that Alpine has more light pollution than I'd expected and this is not as far outside of town as I'd hoped, but it was still very nice, peaceful, and relaxing.
This home is great. Everything we needed was provided and the local coffee and eggs were a special touch. Highly recommend this property.
I was worried the house would feel small since it's a converted container, but on the contrary, it felt spacious and was very well decorated. The stars were wonderful to view at night. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling through the area and would definitely stay again.
We spent 3 nights in this little container and we hardly wanted to leave. The weather was nice, so we were able to enjoy the outside space as well. We cooked most of our own meals and enjoyed the solitude. We ventured out to Alpine one day (about 5 minutes away) and Marfa (about 25 minutes away) the next, but we were always happy to return. Highly recommend!
It was perfect and carefree like having our own property and seclusion. We will come back again and stay longer! Suggestion would be a couple of snack trays to sit and eat on couch!!!
