EASY, efficient, accurate description of property.
Stay here for visit to Big Bend. Great place to stay and plan on staying again.
We really enjoyed our stay in Alpine and at this lovely home. It offered so much space for two adult couples. We loved sitting on the patio, with the screened-in porch and watching all the birds that were enjoying pecans from the pecan tree and then sitting outside in front of the fire pit at dusk. Quick responses from Holly when we needed anything.
This is an older, but well kept home in a good neighborhood. Alpine is small, but has some good restaurants, a nice size grocery store and several gas stations. This is a great home for family's with children. It is located a little over one hour from Big Bend NP, but the drive there is scenic. We had a great time! I highly recommend this property. If we ever get back this way, we will definitely try to stay here again.
Great, spacious, and clean house. The square footage is about fun and together time, less about huge bedrooms (although, honestly they aren't at all small). Lots of room to gather and spend time together. Great game room that the kids basically lived in when we were home, and the rest of their time was playing in the backyard. The screened in porch was a real bonus. The location was central to a lot of things, and the neighbors were very sweet. We all had a great time and will be back every time if this place is available. If you have a favorite pan or slow cooker (it is West Texas and ideally paced for slow cooking), bring it. Otherwise there are plenty of dishes and utensils, paper products, and soaps/cleaners. Easiest checkout this side of the Mississippi, which helps when the kids are crying that the time there is over. Oh, and warning, the recycling place won't take your goods without a water bill, but that is a city/county problem that is true for any rental in town.
We really enjoyed the spacious rooms and living spaces, the screened in porch, the backyard with firepit, and the great location. The house was clean and well appointed, everything worked well and was comfortable. Check in/out was smooth. Owner was nice, responsive, and helpful. 5 stars all around!
It was great!! Being centrally located in alpine, it was so easy to get to marfa, big bend, fort davis and marathon for all our fun in west texas! The back playroom was perfect for our 2 little ones and we had plenty of room for the other 3 adults. It was a bit dusty in the home but nothing major. We loved it! We had a great spring break!
This was great place to gather with close family during the current unusual circumstances for this pandemic. Alpine is a great town with plenty of things to do. Great Stay and well appointed property!
Great house and good location. The house was large and the landscaping in the yard was lovely. We really enjoyed the visit.
It was nice walking in and feeling like the house was just cleaned. I especially loved the freshly laundered linens. It was obvious they had been washed and that made me feel confident that they were clean and not already slept in.
Super cute house. Flawless experience. Cleanest vacation rental I've been in.
Not a plush house, but clean, convenient and very responsive owner. Would definitely stay there again.
The house was located in a nice neighborhood and walking distance to restaurants, cafes.
Firstly, the home is really charming and spacious for 4 adults and 2 children. The location is pretty great, too. Easily walk a few blocks to coffee, food, art galleries, and more. While we had a difficult situation with the property during our stay, the owner and Vrbo Customer Support assisted us quickly. Consider this home during your next stay in Alpine.
My family absolutely loved this house. The layout of the house was perfect for us - my husband and I and our 3 teenagers. Everyone had there own space. Holly was very informative. We will definitely be trying to stay here again as we travel to Alpine several times a year.
Very spacious for a family of 6 Great location
We were thrilled with this property and will certainly stay there again! Well stocked kitchen, bath toiletries and the little touches that make this a home away from home. We cooked a couple of family meals and there were ample pots/pans, dishes, serving bowls etc. The bedrooms are huge, as is the living space and game room. Lots of room for all to spread out. WiFi is great. We loved having coffee in the screened in porch, watching the hummingbirds flit around the backyard. Unfortunately the next door neighbor dog is a barker, not at us, but pretty much all day and that impacted our porch time. Huge pecan trees in the back yard provide some nice shade too. Walkable neighborhood with friendly residents. For light sleepers, I would recommend a white noise machine or ear plugs - trains go through Alpine over night and the conductors use their horns (not 1-2 toots, but 10-12! Yes I counted). I'm pretty sure you hear the horns no matter where you stay in Alpine. Holly was very responsive and easy to work with. The home is clean and well maintained. Holly, thank you!
This house was awesome for our two families. Nice, quiet neighborhood within walking distance of lots of businesses. The pictures are accurate and the house is actually larger than we thought it would be.
Thank you everything was perfect and such an amazing host! Location is perfect house layout is great! Renting again in October
Our family was so comfortable here! The house and decor was simple and lovely. There is a spare toy and game room in the back of house--perfect for littles to play in while we crash after hiking :) The location was great; easy drive to Fort Davis Mountains and a day trip to Big Bend. Our kids are already asking when we can return to this house and we just got home.
Great house and location to enjoy Big Bend and the surrounding areas. Owner was super easy to work with. Be sure to check out the McDonald Observatory and try a Star Party. Visit Terlingua, the Chisos Basin and some of the Hot Spring locations. We did not have time to visit the Santa Elena area but heard great things about it. This was a great location for the Motorcycles too with a covered parking area. Neighbors were nice and attentive. We had one Motorcycle breakdown and had to push start it. One neighbor came to check and make sure we weren't stealing it ;-). Awesome place. I've already recommended it to someone who asked about our trip.
This was an awesome house for our large group to stay in while touring the area on motorcycles. Really enjoyed the screened porch which was the place we gathered and visited. If your visiting the area you might consider using the kitchen to cook. Town seemed to close down early and we were eating at off times. Wish we had planned on cooking because the kitchen was great.
Nice spacious, comfortable, cozy, clean house. We had a good size group and we had plenty of room for all of us. Great space to sit in the back. Comfortable beds etc. One of the best HomeAway experience we've had in all of our travels. The Host was really helpful and super sweet. When we go back we will stay here again.
We had a great stay. The house is clean and well laid out. Liked the screened patio and yard, the car port was tall enough to keep the cargo carrier on my van. We enjoyed the fire pit. Very nice place. Would like to stay there again on our next trip.
Nice place with plenty of room in town and close enough to Big Bend National Park.
The house was super comfortable, clean, spacious, and very well decorated. The local maps and books with history of the area were a very nice touch. The location is great, too. We walked to restaurants when we didn't cook at the house. As someone else said in an earlier review, yes, the it's a short steep bump up onto the driveway. We have a very low sports car and had no problems. If you also have a low vehicle, just go slow and at an angle and you should not damage anything. We look forward to staying here again.
The house is beautiful and roomy. The house is stocked with games for kids and adults. Love thoughtful furniture that enables hanging out. My cousins and I were visiting big bend with small children. We were looking for a house to stay - where the kids can play, be close to restaurants and drivable distance to national park. This house perfectly fit the bill. We had an unfortunate plumbing incident during our stay - Holly handled it perfectly. Highly recommend this house.
The house was clean, well equipped. Extra blankets and pillows. We felt right at home and wished we could stayed longer!
Holly was a wonderful host. Very responsive and took extra steps to make sure we were comfortable. We really enjoyed the house!
The home was as described; lots of room and comfortable. We rated it a four rather than a five because the television was difficult for us to operate. Loved the area with friendly people, good food, and shopping! Thank you for allowing our stay.
Great house with plenty of space. Very conveniently located in downtown Alpine. The screened in porch and backyard fire pit were great features as well. We will definitely stay here again!
The house was very clean and spacious. Walking distance to downtown. Huge backyard with fire pit and covered patio area on the side. The stay was wonderful and they had some little snacks there for us and tons of games to use. Plenty of towels. Thank you! Just one thing is don't park in the drive way if you have a car. The street dips and you will bottom out coming out of the driveway. We ended up parking in the street and it was just fine. Police station is about a block away so all calm. I would definitely stay there again.
Great house in Alpine!! I enjoyed the house and would recommend it to family and friends! Holly made it very comfortable before arriving there having the house ready!
This is a full house with everything needed to have a relaxing and fun vacation. This is best suited for families large and small or a pair of small families. There is a large room for the grownups and a play room for the kids. The location is close enough to the main road through town that it is convenient while being far enough away to be quiet. The Marfa lights, Big Bend, wide open spaces ... there is something in this part of Texas for all nature lovers and adventure hounds. Followed owner's recommendation for dinner at Guzzi Up and that was a great decision! Dealing with the owner was awesome with no hassle for checking in and understanding how things work. I have already mentioned this vacation home to friends and family. Do yourself a favor and stay here in Alpine, TX.
