Tim Pappies is a one of a kind nature lodge where the naturalness of the surroundings have been preserved for the enjoyment of the eco-conscious traveler. Located 4 miles west of the town center of Port Antonio in the quiet district of Snow Hill. This is a country cottage sitting on over 1 acre of landscaped & farmed property. It is off the main road of Snow Hill at a dead end on highlands overlooking the Rio Grande River and the Caribbean Sea.
Beautiful lawns/gardens for outdoor living. Hammocks, seating and dining areas invites guests to enjoy the cool breezes off the ocean. The organic farm at the back of the property offers quite a selection of fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs.
The hiking trails in the area lead to the beaches, river and highlands for the most amazing bird watching. For the avid fisherman bring along your tackle as the fishing is at its best here. One of our staff is always available to accompany our guests on any expedition. During the open season there is also the opportunity to join a licensed hunter for bird shooting and deer hunting.
5 miles either side (East or west) there are waterfall parks. To the East there is Reach Falls and to the west there is Somerset Falls. Rafting on The Rio Grande can be arranged by property staff. A drive up to the hills of Berrydale is required to start the rafting and it ends walking distance from our property. Plan a day trip to one of the falls and picnic with a lunch packed by our cook/housekeeper. A little further a field there is the famous Blue Lagoon, Winnifred Beach, Boston Beach, John Crow Mountains (for hiking), and the famous Boston Jerk Center.
Excursions can also be arranged for fishing trips (October is the official Marlin Tournament), Nature and Wildlife tours, day trip tp Ocho Rios Dunns River Falls and scuba diving and snorkeling.
