Makes you wish you could stay longer. Comfortable, well put together, nice place to stay. Most of my airbnb travel is production work related. We move a lot of gear in and out of a property but still want a nice place to stay. Easy parking and access to a grocery store is high on the list. This place was great, Canseco's grocery store is great, parking was easy. Highly reccomend.
The check-in process was simple. The owner met us onsite and gave us a history of the home and town which was very rewarding. Everything was clean and comfortable. Great ambiance and very close proximity to New Orleans. Uber and Lyft drivers were never further than 3 minutes away. We can’t wait to get back to the area and we will stay here again when we do!!
Exceeded expectations on cleanliness (that's not easy to do with me). Bed was comfy and location was a perfect distance of close to the fun but not too close for quiet nights. Hosts were very kind, hospitable and made the working fireplace a priority for me. Thank you very much!!
We loved it and would definitely stay here again. It was very clean, had tons of character and we felt at home. It's in a quiet neighborhood with an easy drive to the city. Shirley was great to work with and made everything so easy! Thank you, Shirley!
This place was gorgeous and close to everything. So many little details and so much love were put into this home. The owner’s daughter met us there and made sure our checkin went smoothly. Hope to stay there again in the future.
We couldn’t have selected a better place to stay. Extremely clean, Bedding & Linens are of great quality and the beds were very comfortable. The garden was nice that included a fig & banana tree which was a great addition to the home. Overall stay was fantastic and so are the owners. Thanks for everything. We will definitely visit again and recommend to others.
We just got back from Arabi house. Shirley and Mark are wonderful hosts - There is nothing lovelier than a warm welcome and they made us feel like old friends. Sorry we didn't touch base after day 1 as we are socially awkward hermits. :) Anyway, we very much enjoyed our stay, the home is so pretty and it really feels like a home, a gorgeous one at that! I think it is also in a just perfect location. We're not big party people so we were happy to be away from the nightlife in New Orleans. It's a short drive to a lot of places including the French Quarter. The home itself is in a safe residential area - we really loved that you can walk to several local spots and enjoy a hearty breakfast and donuts and burgers and poboys and more donuts and we ate a lot lmao. Oh the coffee is really good everywhere! Also you can walk down to the Mississippi. Good internet service at the house and I had no trouble with my T-mobile service on my phone. I am of a paranoid nature so I kept doing double takes downstairs when I went by the lovely windows facing the garden because there is a decorative chicken statue in the yard that I kept thinking was a person. It's actually the second large decorative chicken I have encountered in my home away travels, LOL and it is just perfect and lovely where it is, nothing wrong with it, I just like to point out chickens when I see them (my husband can attest to that). The bed in the master was supremely comfortable and you can enjoy looking down your nose at your unsuspecting husband from the upstairs balustrade while he reviews the downstairs pamphlets. The loft is definitely for shorter friends or people that enjoy slouching, be careful - we didn't stay there but had a look around. Also just a note that it is obviously a well tended and loved home - there were boots and a shirt and things to take care of the house in the laundry room and it struck me that this is truly a private owner's place. It's obviously a business transaction to stay at the house but still it's clear that there is a lot of sweat and love put into the place - take care of it while you got it! :) Definitely recommend! Many thanks to Shirley and Mark.
We arrived on a Sunday night and were greeted by the owners, who helped us get settled in. The house was just as described, with enough room for 5 people, a cute yard, and in a nice little neighborhood. Would definitely stay there again.
Home was beautiful felt like home ... beds were so comfortable that We slept very well.
As soon as we pulled into the gate, the entire car “awed” at how cute the house was! We walked through the small garden and fell more and more in love with the space. The interior felt like a dream come true!! My oldest daughter was so enamored by the charm of the house. Our host was just as lovely as the house, if not more so. A great stay and ever greater trip :)
The house is beautiful and spacious. Tons of charm and culture throughout the home. Shirley was the best host and was very accommodating. The house is close to restaurants and a gas station which was very convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommended this home to others.
We stayed at this cozy, comfortable, historic home for 3 nights. We enjoyed the newly renovated bathrooms and kitchen. The decor for this historic home gave the home a charm we look for in a home. Upon arrival the owner met us at the property and was always available if needed. A+ all the way around.
My friends and I stayed here on our girls trip to New Orleans. We loved the house! It was located in a great neighborhood. Ms. Shirley was amazing! She met us at the house to show us around and to tell us about the house’s history. Ms. Shirley was very quick to answer any questions we had. This house was clean, pretty, and well taken care of! We had an amazing time!
This home was beautiful and so warm. I will definitely rent this one again.
This is a FANTASTIC place to stay in New Orleans! The house is SO ADORABLE...a true show house...but also homey, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The beds were super comfortable! The house is super, duper clean...you can walk around barefoot! The house is a lot bigger than it looks in the pictures. The kitchen is so roomy and really set up nicely, if you want to cook your meals. The 2 spiral staircases, leading to the 2 bedrooms, are so cool...my favorite part of the house! The bedrooms are big and beautiful, one leading off to a balcony. The living area is wonderful inside and outside. The outdoor living is just as beautiful as the indoor. There is a lot of sitting area outdoors with a tree swing and patio area. This house is in Arabi, only 15 minutes from the French Quarters....SOOOO EASY to drive to!!! Nice to be a little away from the chaotic downtown area, but to be so close as well! Shirley really knows how to make her home lovely for visitors!!! And she gives great recommendations for dining out! Thanks Shirley!
We felt right at home in the property
The property pics are exactly as posted, but better. The owner has taken her time creating an atmosphere that is welcoming and full of personality. Everything that you didn't think of was provided and she was a text/phone call away. Property is less than 5 miles away from downtown, but there is easy access in that community to grocery stores, pharmacies, eateries; anything you need. The neighborhood itself is quiet and peaceful. A nice porch and courtyard provide a relaxing atmosphere if you choose to sit outside. Already looking at booking this property again in the future.
Loved this house! Shirley was an incredible host meeting us here and giving us the history on the home. Fully renovated and they did such an amazing job! Easy Lyft or drive to the French quarter the neighborhood is quiet and we NO issues. Just a great house for a great price with awesome owners! Let her know what you like to do and she’ll make sure to have all the info for you!!! Awesome!!!
Shirley was absolutely wonderful!! I felt so welcome in the home,I’m mention I was coming down to celebrate my birthday and she had the home decorated and a birthday gift. I definitely stay here my next visit to NOLA
Shirley meet us at the house and gave us a tour and history of the place. She gave us some pointers on places to see and eat at. The house is beautiful on a quiet street. Not to far from the French Quarter. The showers are spacious and the water pressure is just right. The washer and dryer in the house was nice to have. The beds are comfortable. The loft has low ceilings but we had two short people in our group so they sleep there.
Great place well done
Owners were fantastic and helpful in every way. Way above the call of duty. They showed us around the neighborhood and made us feel at home. The house is perfect; great porch and yard, perfect loft style bedrooms. Walk down to the levee and watch the riverboats go down stream while the sunsets behind the NOLA skyline. We could not have been happier with our accommodations. We would highly rrecommend booking this property any time. Thanks Shirley and Mark.
Charming well appointed home. I could have just stayed in the house and yard the whole time. Open fireplace made for cozy nights. This abode possesses all the history and and culture that is New Orleans. Price was right too!
