We enjoyed our stay in American Falls in this beautiful home. We really appreciated the size of the home to accommodate all our family! The property manager was so helpful in answering any questions we had along the way! Thank you!!!
The house was great. It had everything that we needed for the couple of days that we were there. Heather was very nice, and easy to work with when I had issues. There was plenty of room/bedding/kitchen supplies, etc. the inside was nice and clean. A few things to take note of FYI; 1-there are only two showers 2-Master bathroom water didn’t get hot 3-outside patios needed attention
We absolutely loved staying at this large and quirky home for our family get together. We are highly considering coming again every other year or so. It was perfect for us. What we liked: lots of space to spread out. Outdoor area is fantastic with a big backyard with lawn and very large covered patio. When the weather is undesirable outside there is plenty of space to spread out indoors. What we were a bit surprised at: 1. The house is up on a hill (somehow we hadn't noticed that in the pictures). 2. There is a farmyard with cows directly behind the house. The kids loved looking at the calves. There is no "dairy" smell. In fact we loved the quiet country setting: away from all the hubbub of town. What we found very entertaining: The miniature bathtub got lots of good laughs from everyone. It is an absolute must-see. Just some things to be aware of: There is only one fridge (bring coolers if you plan to stay a while and eat "in.") There are beds to sleep 14 people. Four or so people can sleep on sofas. If you want to accommodate more individuals, there is PLENTY of space, just make sure to bring bedding and sleeping pads. That's all. Highly recommend.
Although the weather was not ideal for late June we still enjoyed the property. The farm next door surprisingly does not smell. The animals and views were wonderful plus the large outdoor space gave our kids lots of room to run around.
Amazing property, amazing experience! Clean, comfortable, homey, spacious, but even more, quiet & peaceful - even w/a dozen "roommates!" ;0] Thank you, Heather!!!
This is a large house that can accommodate up to 20 people. We had a little family reunion over the Labor Day weekend and we had a blast. There was rom for everyone. I said quirky in the title, because the home has obviously been built in at least two, if not more stages, so the layout is not like anything I have ever seen before. Nevertheless, like I mentioned above, we had plenty of room. We ended up with seven adults and twelve children and the home and yard accommodated us well. The only downside is that although there were five bathrooms, there were only 2 showers. Even the master bathroom didn't have a shower (it just had a tub). We obviously managed well, but for a group of 19, an extra shower or two would have been nice. I never met Heather, but she was super nice and accommodating and very easy and pleasant to work with. I can see us using the property again in the future.
We enjoyed the seclusion. The trees and fence in the back made it so we had privacy with our activities. Thankful for all the bathrooms. Would of been nice to have another refrigerator. The grand children had plenty of space to play and run around. Thanks for providing the facility.
First the good--the house is quite large, and easily accommodated our party of 16. Some of the rooms are so large that 10 or more people could sleep on air mattresses with room to spread out. The kitchen is functional, and had several small appliances available. The backyard was a lovely place to sit at night and enjoy the birds and the stars, and play a few rounds of cornhole (game not included). The area is beautiful, and we enjoyed some hiking and water play. The guy at Willow Bay (Chris?) was incredibly nice and helpful, and we all agreed those were the best burgers we've ever eaten. On the downside: much of the furniture is past its useful life. The bed I slept in sagged in the middle, so I couldn't help but roll into my husband at night... which is not so much fun when the house is still 80* inside. The kitchen table is rickety, and the sofa in the den is lumpy and uncomfortable. Likewise the sofa in the living room. Now for the big issue--this house is completely unsuitable for toddlers and seniors. The description says it is not handicap accessible, which is an understatement. Never mind the concrete steps up to the main entry; once you get in the house, there are steep steps down to the 2-bed room, 2 steps down to the dining room, 2 steps up to the den, 2 steps down to the living room, and no other way into these rooms other than using the steps. Of course there are inside stairs down to the basement, but there are also outside, concrete stairs to the basement from the backyard. The toddler in our party, of course, was fascinated with these steps, which required us all to be on high alert at all times. The real hazard, however, was for my 82-year-old mother, who slid off the step into the dining room and broke her foot in 4 places (initial x-ray didn't show the breaks, but when she went to her own doctor for x-rays and an MRI, they showed up). In case you're visualizing a frail old woman who can barely walk, my mother walks regularly, takes world cruises with my dad, and occasionally goes flyfishing! She spent the last 5 days of our trip sitting in a chair in the kitchen area, unable to see any of the sights or even leave the house. Granted it was an accident, but I might not have considered the house if I had known how many steps there are. All in all, a disappointing trip. On a final note, the question that no one asks but everyone must wonder, NO, you cannot smell the cow yard behind the house most of the time.
This house is really nice and plenty big enough for a large group. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
Phenomenal house rental for our athletes and parents. Home away from Home setting. Thank you very much. Most definitely we found our Home away from Home in Idaho.
We were concerned that the property wouldn't be big enough but to our surprise, it was large and spacious with a huge living room area for family gatherings. Communicating with the owner was excellent.
We had 5 siblings and with kids and my parents in this home. Didnt feel like we were crammed. Home was clean and had a well stocked kitchen. Plenty of towels. It's on a quiet country road. Loved the back porch! Owner was responsive to messages.
We loved the house! It was the perfect spot for our family to come to celebrate a graduation from ISU. Everything was perfect!
Thank you Heather for sharing your beautiful home with our family! We enjoyed a quiet weekend. Plenty of room for all. Beautiful birds in the marsh across the road in the evening hours. Soft beds. ❤️
We loved our stay. The house was easy to get to off the highway and near the Pocatello airport. The house is huge! Lots of beds and baths with open space throughout the house and a big yard. The house was easy to get into and has great privacy. I would definitely stay there again.
Second time staying with my track team. Excellent!!
Plenty of room for everyone.
It was great! Well equipped, quiet and of course spatious. Yard was especially enjoyable, plenty of games area and for bbq though we didn't use it. Surprised that bugs were not an issue in this summer and rural setting. Very large gathering room and owner was very helpful with suggestions on use of the reservoir--Willow Bay was wonderful. Highly recommend for large groups but think through your use of beds and bathrooms. Perfect for our group of 15.
We rented this house for a weekend for my son's wedding venue. Heather was great to work with and even agreed to meet us at the property before we rented it to make sure it would meet our needs. She was always prompt to answer my questions before the big event and even stopped by the morning of the wedding to see if we needed anything else. The yard was a perfect picturesque location for the wedding. It turned out beautiful and we are so thankful for having this location for the big day!
House is beautiful and huge. We kept losing people. Backyard was a delight. Had a lot of fun there. Nice kitchen. Owner went above and beyond when daughter's car broke down. Thank you.
This place was so fun and I very much enjoyed staying there. The inside was huge, clean and with beautiful views in every direction. I was at a loss why they had pool sticks, pool balls and no pool table but besides that I would stay here again in a second.
We booked this home for our trip to Lava & couldn't find anything closer. Cons- house smelled of cigarette smoke upon entering and although I didn't smell it upstairs after first day, the family members staying downstairs said it remained down there the whole time of our stay. Dead flies all over the floor-owner said that pest control had sprayed a few days before. Would suggest to go in and clean up after having pest control out before guests arrival in future. The lock mechanism on one set of sliding doors was not functioning properly and we didn't notice until after the first night there- not sure if owner knew beforehand or not.Good thing we didn't care to use the Sauna, it was out of order. Patio was very messy with leaves//cobwebs which is natural I guess for a country home, but we couldn't find a push broom to clean it up, so we found a hose and squirted it off. I would suggest the owner clear that area before quest arrival to make it more pleasant. Maybe cleaning crew hadn't been there recently since we were there May 25-29th(early in the season). Lake water too high, so there was not beach area. Master bath tub was very, very small, but it worked out perfect to bath the toddlers in, but someone expecting a nice hot tub soak will be disappointed. Not trying to complain, but want to give a true review. Pros: Spacious, Spacious, Spacious!! Inside and out. Probably more room than we needed, but it was awesome! We have stayed in lots of home rentals and this was the roomiest by far. We had 6 kids from 1-11 years in age and 7 adults(2 of the adults in our party ended up not being able to make it). There was so much room to move around and not feel crowded .. Part of the house is older and part of it is newer and very nice. The fooseball table kept us entertained, games and library were useful. Owner very responsive. Our kids had hours of fun inside and out! They also enjoyed the park in town and the water park. When kids are happy, adults are happy. I loved the country feel and that the nearest house wasn't as close as they typically are in the city. I'm only giving 3 stars because of the smoke smell and flies. Would have been nice if owner offered a discount, considering. But all in all, honestly, I think this was one of the most enjoyable family vacays we've had. We mostly just chilled at the house and let the kids play and didn't have a set schedule to be here or there. We just winged it! Thanks for sharing your home.
home was perfect for a family gathering. Plenty of space, comfortable home, enjoyed the recreational activities. Excellent response from owner. Would love to stay in this home again in the future!
Our track team rented this property. Excellent location, great for team building. Plenty of room for everyone.
This home has spacious rooms which accommodate family gatherings in a comfortable atmosphere. The kitchen was well appointed with cooking appliances, etc.. The beds were comfortable and there is lots of seating for mealtime. We enjoyed our stay and found this to be the perfect size and a great location to meet our needs. Heather was great to work with! We would certainly rent this home again if the need and opportunity arises.
