This property is part of the Lifestyle Holiday Vacation Club. My family’s disappointment was primarily due to the difference between what we initially booked (3/4 bedroom villa w/private pool) and what we ultimately received (two 2 bedroom suites with kitchenettes). While the host did make it clear after the initial booking that the resort wouldn’t allow us to book the villa, we were provided pictures of alternative accommodations that failed to show the very neglected condition of these suites. Although spacious, the suites were sparsely decorated, very old, not well maintained at all (peeling paint throughout, sofas are painted blocks of cement with rough cushions on top, dresser was old with drawers that barely opened, A/C unit leaked water on the floor, etc.) Once we arrived & saw just how awful the suites looked, we contacted the host as well as complained to reception. The host did refer our concerns to VIP services. On the guise of addressing our concerns, VIP services wasted hours of our time trying to sell us a vacation club membership. When we repeatedly asked about moving to another room, they said they didn’t have the power to move us & nothing else was available; however, an hour later they magically found another suite for us but only if we purchased a vacation membership. That was a hard pass. Aside from the horrible accommodations, the host was generally responsive & apologetic (although apparently she didn’t have any authority to help us), the staff are friendly & helpful, and the resort is spacious with lots of pools. The food was mediocre with the exception of the Mexican & seafood restaurants. This was our first trip to DR. It won’t be our last, but we won’t return to Lifestyles.
