Only two short blocks to gorgeous West Cliff Drive, this lovely hideaway is ideally located for everything you want to see and do in Santa Cruz. Travel West Cliff in one direction for less than a mile to arrive at one of the most famous surf spots in the world, Steamer Lane, right at Lighthouse Point and Surfing Museum. From there the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Main Beach and Municipal Wharf are a ten-minute walk (see our map on this page). Heading in the opposite direction on West Cliff brings you to Natural Bridges State Park and Beach. Minutes to wineries, bakeries, downtown restaurants, movie theaters, bookstores, shopping and much more. Many good restaurants and Farmer's Markets right in the neighborhood!
We are also minutes from UCSC and very popular with visitors who are associated with students and faculty of our lovely City on the Hill, University of California at Santa Cruz!
Tucked up one flight of stairs in a detached cottage behind the main house is your private, one bedroom getaway with en suite full bath, complete with full kitchen and all kitchen tools, washer/dryer and private patio with BBQ. You are perched upstairs with a 'peek' of the ocean only two blocks away. Weather/Climate in Santa Cruz has mild weather throughout the year, enjoying a warm-summer Mediterranean climate characterized by cool, wet winters and warm, mostly dry summers. Due to its proximity to Monterey Bay, fog and low overcast are common during the night and morning hours, especially in the summer. Bring a light jacket, sweatshirt for mornings and evenings in summer! Many guests return from their vacation with a Santa Cruz sweatshirt (our local uniform!). She was genuinely concerned with my comfort and needs the property is beautiful located in a very private neighborhood of Santa Cruz easy access to everything Santa Cruz has to offer, and a wonderful, quiet, comfortable, nurturing place to come home to after a long day of adventure, and exploring I really look forward to coming back. We loved our stay at Robin’s cottage and she was an outstanding and wonderful host. Her place is lovely, quiet, clean, had everything we needed and is perfectly located for daily walks along the ocean and to amazing restaurants and cafes. We didn’t want to leave! And Robin is an exceptional host. (Like she should teach a course on it.) She is warm, welcoming, accommodating and literally made us feel like her special guests (not just vrbo people staying on her property). She checked in to be sure we had what we needed, sent us weather updates, and gave us a heads up on a stunning full moon over the ocean and recommendations for where to view it with great food and drink. We loved our stay and can’t wait to return. Thank you Robin! ?
This experience reminded me of how good a well-run vacation rental can be. It was so nice dealing with an actual person who takes excellent care of their place with lots of thoughtful touches to make my stay super comfortable and relaxing. The place is luxurious for a single/couple, and the futon in the living room was very solid and comfortable. Robin's place is like staying in a real house, with a patio and grill, located in one of the nicer areas in Santa Cruz. Walking distance (15-20 minutes) from lots of stuff and a quick drive from UCSC. Plenty of peace and quiet even with the windows open constantly.
This was likely our last visit to Santa Cruz, at least for now, to attend the UCSC graduation. The location was super, with a nearby shortcut to the beautiful West Cliff views, but close enough to campus to help our son pack up 4 years of stuff! Our host was amazing and even offered to fill the fridge when she learned our flight in was delayed.The home was clean and had everything we could need, including a lovely private courtyard that was the envy of my work Zoom meeting. If/when we return, this will be our spot!
Our business reserved this property for 3 months for a visiting scientist and they raved about Robin and her property. She was communicative, attentive, and a terrific host that went above and beyond. We will definitely reserve this spot again for long-term stays or business visits. Thanks Robin!
Robin was a lovely host and the property was a the perfect beach hide-away for a few days of rest. I walked two blocks to the most beautiful walk along West Cliff. Perfect stay!
This property was very comfortable and exactly as advertised. Robin was very helpful and accommodating. The location is superb. You can hear the crashing of the waves and the barking of the seals from the ocean a few blocked away. We walked and biked everywhere and found the Westside wineries and coffee shops great.
This was an adorable, comfortable apartment, centrally located to beaches, downtown and wineries, just as described on the site. Robyn was very easy to work with and very responsive. I highly recommend this place.
The property was exactly what we wanted/needed/expected. Since our plan was to be out and about during the length of our stay, coming back to a place that was clean, bright with sunshine with a wonderful breeze was amazing! I would suggest this location for all couples looking for a perfect space to call home while visiting Santa Cruz. We loved walking the neighborhood in the morning—both the beach and local coffee shop are a short walk away (coffee-7minutes; beach-under 5 minutes) The property manager, Robin, was everything we could hope for: responsive before our stay, easy to contact with any questions, made the check in process clear & easy, and was never seen but we felt comfortable knowing she was only a phone call away. We really did feel as if we had our own hideaway in Santa Cruz.
