Northport, Michigan
This authentic 1930's summer cottage is 3 miles north of Northport, five minute drive to Leelanau State Park and 20 minutes from Suttons Bay shopping and Leland's Fishtown. Minutes from Leelanau Sands Casino and many wineries. Enjoy the fresh lake air, windows that open to surrounding flowers and trees and the bright, comfortable decor with charming screened porch and brick patio. Dirt road runs along the bay from the cottage into Northport is a perfect 3 mile bike ride into town, but property is on paved road.
The cottage itself was lovely and we enjoyed our stay there. That said, it is on a main road so there was quite a bit of traffic noise. Also, the mattress in the main bedroom was saggy but there was a futon that was more comfortable. Unfortunately, there was a short power outage while we were there and since the house has a well, that meant we had no water. While the property manager did respond to our call and kept us updated on when the power might return, we were surprised that she did not offer any assistance like a backup generator or water.
We loved being in the Leelenau Peninsula away from the hustle and bustle of Traverse City yet within driving range of so many beautiful up north communities. The house is just as described but much more spacious than it appears in the photos. We love the quaintness of the place yet it’s comfortable as well. We enjoyed the new grill for cooking. Host was friendly, accommodating and easy to communicate with. We will definitely stay again.
My parents LOVE staying here! It is very quiet, and calming. Impeccably clean. Michele couldn’t have been more helpful and easier to work with! Looking forward to next year
We stayed here as an outpost from a larger family vacation and it was perfect! Definitely roomier than we anticipated and very cozy and charming. As with any little old cottage, the outside finds it’s way in a bit, but it is obviously well cared for, clean and tidy. Lovely location just north of Northport. Would definitely recommend!
Cute cottage close to wineries and good starting point for exploring Leelanau Peninsula.
We had a relaxing stay using this charming cottage as our base for visiting friends at Leelanau State Park. We brought our bikes and rode to town on the scenic road along the lake. It was unusually warm a few of the nights we were there so you need to be prepared for that.
This was a nice place to clean up and sleep after our adventures. The bathroom felt a little like an addition that could have been built better. There was a lot of rain during our stay and a dehumidifier would have done wonders to make the cottage more comfortable.
We loved our stay! My only suggestion is a new mattress for the main bedroom. It was too soft and we sunk in the middle. Other than that it was wonderful!
Cozy, retro cottage provided the perfect home for our family vacation! Felt like a step-back in time as we enjoyed playing games, bike riding into town, and relaxing! Loved our stay. Thank you!
The place was quaint and clean, and the location great. The 2nd bedroom was more of a closet (no windows and no door - just a curtain, which kept falling down) next to the bathroom and kitchen so not private or quiet. Plenty of linens and amenities. However, bring your own cookware and cooking knives if you want to cook. Pot handles falling apart and nonstick pan burnt. We had a nice stay here.
