Excellent for the novice to serious Golfer, Romantic Escape, Family Retreat, Girl's Getaway, Individual getaway for all including Writers and Audubon seekers, Fishing buddies, snowmobile fun, ice skating and cross country fun!
The unit Faith provides is better than advertised - great location, great condition and all the amenities you could ask for. The weather didn’t cooperate but we still really enjoyed our inaugural trip to Green Lake and will definitely come back. The location of Sunset Nook is perfect in that we could walk to everything in town. The fishing from the dock was a ton of fun and we were able to take the kayaks out for a quick trip between storms. We are a large family and while we will probably look for a 2 bathroom unit next time, we were not cramped in Faith’s unit at all. You just can’t beat the views!
Great location for a stay in Green Lake: on the water and within a short walk to town. The house is fully equipped, well-decorated and super clean. Beds are comfortable. Host is gracious and helpful. We'll be back!
Cozy cottage that is well equipped with anything you might need. Easy walk to downtown and to park for kids or drive to nearby towns. Boat slip is easily accessible and close by, boat must go under low bridge to get to big Green lake. Great getaway!
Such a beautiful little cottage! It was well-appointed and in the best location! Right on the water but walking distance to downtown! I love that it’s on a cove that is off of the main lake. The fishing wasn’t great, but next time we’ll hire a guide. It was an awesome week!
Great place for a weekend away over the winter! Kids loved playing on the playground and exploring the nearby lake and dam. Kitchen well stocked, and owner replied very quickly when we had a quick question!
Home away from home Very comfortable Love the fireplace and views. Easy to get to town and plenty to do in the area. Definitely will be back.
We loved our stay at the Sunset Nook Cottage in Green Lake! The house is really lovely with everything a small family or couple would want for a getaway. I’m sure in the summer it’d be spectacular but even for a couple cold winter nights it was wonderful. Loved the kitchen setup, fireplace and view! Beautifully decorated and clean.
Had a wonderful last minute getaway. Property just like photos and meticulously clean. As some others mention- it is nearby other units- however unobstructed view from living room, front yard and bedroom- making it seem very private. Kitchen with everything we needed, very comfortable main bedroom and lovely shower and stand-alone jacuzzi tub. Cozy gas fireplace and large tv with good cable and all the streaming stuff. If traveling with toddlers- we did have to temporarily move some decorations and recommend You bring some rubber bands to help deter some cabinet exploration on the kitchen island.
We decided to book a quick get away with very little notice. The owner was very responsive and the property was exactly as shown. Very pretty in December but this must be even better in the summer.
Great little cottage getaway. Everything you could need is there for your stay. Just bring your clothes and food. Very clean and convenient to town.
Everything was absolutely outstanding except for the weather and my wife’s health. I plan on making my next reservation next summer when the weather and the fishing will be better. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
The weather was not great but we enjoyed our stay as well as the concert in the nearby park! The only glitch was that the grill was low on gas, but enough for us to grill our hamburgers.
The cottage is delightful and very comfortable. It is a little misleading in the VRBO photos as to the location of the cottage in relation to nearby properties. One would not call it a normal lakeside setting, simply because of this.
Beautiful clean house right next to town. House has everything you need and more. Loved sitting on the porch overlooking the water with a glass of wine. Would definitely stay here again!
WIFI should be upgraded as it could not handle many devices and was unreliable. Thanks.
Wonderful, clean, cute cottage with all the amenities in a serene location. Loved our stay!
Lovely setting and so beautiful and relaxing.
The Sunset nook cottage was a great weekend getaway for my friends and me. We enjoyed the kayaks, location and lakefront views. The property is as described and very comfortable.
My best friend and I used the cottage as our home base to attend the Dickens of a Christmas festival in Ripon the first weekend in December and it was perfect. It was only a few minute drive to Ripon and an easy trip. The cottage was adorable and very nicely furnished. They had even added some classy Christmas decorations which really completed our stay. We walked to close by restaurants both nights for dinner and had great meals. We especially enjoyed our morning coffee in front of the fire with the view of the lake. Great place!
Absolutely a lovely place to stay! Thank you!
The sunset nook was in a perfect location right by downtown and next to the water. There was also a park next door which was perfect for the kiddos. Seamless access to home and 2 designated parking spots.
Lovely weekend! We thoroughly enjoyed Sunset Nook Cottage. Everything we could possibly need was provided for us. The cottage was so clean and cozy. A wonderful view from the back patio. Green Lake offers so much to do even on a chilly April weekend. We went to the farmers market, the bird festival and played bingo at Town Square. We went for meals at The Corporal, Chops and 680 North (at Tuscumia Country Club) We look forward to returning!
Quiet, clean, nice neighbors. Close to everything.
We loved the cottage. It was in a great location for ease of walking into town. The cottage was very well maintained and had anything we could have asked for. We would definitely stay here again if we travel back to Green Lake.
We absolutely loved the cottage. It was immaculately clean. It was so charming and had the perfect balance of classiness and coziness. It was decorated so nicely; my husband and I discussed how refreshing it was to be in a nicely decorated, open, fresh space instead of the cliche northwoods motif that so many lake cottages use, which is so dark and often feels so dirty. The color scheme was so neat and added to the feeling of cleanliness. And the house offered every possible amenity and convenience one could need! That the boat launch was only yards away and that a dock slip is provided just feet from the door helped to streamline our getaway and ensure the most quality family time. The lake view was gorgeous, and the morning and evening sun off the lake was stunning. The ONLY “negative” I would include is that we didn’t know how close it was to other properties and how shared the outdoor space would be. That said, though, the neighbors were so nice that it certainly didn’t detract from our experience. What a find!!!
Great location absolutely perfect with everything on site that you might need. Charming and very well appointed.
My husband and I wanted to get away for a few days and chose Sunset Nook after reading the reviews and wanting a stand alone house, not a hotel or condo. We enjoyed the jetted tub, the fireplace and the fire bowl outside under the stars. The location is great -- walking distance to downtown and a little private yard to sit and enjoy the sunsets. The house had everything we needed and was nicely decorated and furnished, and very clean. One negative for anyone interested in fishing -- the cottage is on a pond that connects to the lake, and fishing isn't good on the pond. It's pretty weedy and shallow. We hadn't been to Green Lake in 25 years, and it hasn't changed much. Still small and quaint. Got to eat at Adam's Rib, Goose Blind and Little Corporal. Enjoyed golf and a nearby winery in Ripon. Tried to take a lake cruise on the Heidel House yacht, but they had engine trouble so couldn't go. Lucked out on the weather for late October! Faith the owner was great to work with. Would definitely recommend Sunset Nook to travelers heading to Green Lake!
Health permitting we will be back! Thank you for a relaxing few days. Pat SORG
What a very beautiful place. Every thing you could imagine. Listing dose not do it justice. Faith is such a wonderful person and has every thing you need. Me and my wife had such a fabulous and relaxing time celebrating our 30 years of bliss. We cant wait to get back. The views and wild life are spectacular. Everything so neat and in place. Downtown just a short walkthrough the park. Highly recommened
We recently visited Green Lake and stayed at Sunset Nook Cottage. We love the quaint, quiet town of Green Lake and Sunset Nook Cottage is a great place to stay. It has all the comforts of home, a beautiful view of the bay from the lovely back porch (my favorite place to sit) and it's walking distance to many places to eat in downtown Green Lake. The cottage and the proximity to town really draws us. We've stayed in many locations around the lake, and we find that we like being in town best. Not only is the cottage and its location great, but so is Faith. She thinks of every comfort for her guests -from nice shampoo and soaps with plush towels in the bathroom to the welcome basket holding tea and honey, coffee and scone mix on the kitchen island. The Cottage is a delight, need I say more? We're regular folk and are drawn to the local eateries. We really like Adam's Rib with their daily specials, good food and reasonable prices. Christiano's has a good pizza, fresh salads and friendly servers and is very close by via car. Little Corporal has the fastest served breakfast in town and they mean it! We've had their pancakes, omelets and even the occasional ice cream cone and were two thumbs up. Okay so we like to eat on vacation, but walking around town and enjoying the lake views can give you an appetite. I say come to Green Lake and enjoy Sunset Nook Cottage and all it has to offer.
I cannot wait to come back here! This cottage is perfect for quiet reflection or a small gathering of friends. Even though there are buildings closer than the pictures make it appear, it feels very private. Being close to town is a huge plus, and the park is right there! The beds are super comfortable,, and the cottage is equipped with anything you could possibly need. I can't wait to cone back!!
Everything about our stay at the sunset nook cottage and green lake really was perfect... Location was steps away from a nice playground and only a few blocks away from the quaint town - an easy walk with young kids. The town has several restaurants, a few local shops and a candy store. And we were able to dock our boat right in front of the cabin and launch the boat rich around the corner. All so convenient. And I can't say enough about the cottage... Charming, so well decorated and Faith has everything you could need. Even fishing rods were made available, though we didn't get to fishing during our stay. As others have noted, the cottage is part of a condo complex, but it's a small complex and you don't even know it when you're in the cottage. The view is great. We even got to enjoy watching a pop-up hail storm move across the lake. It's the perfect part of the lake to enjoy a canoe or kayak ride. Maybe we'll get to that next time. Incredible vacation for us and our 3 young daughters. We're already looking for return dates!
I'm picky with my rentals & this one was great! Cozy, adorable, relaxing, private & great location. Decor is lovely & tasteful. Comfy bed. Well furnished with nice extra touches. I will recommend this cottage to my friends & would like to return. Thank you Faith, for greatly enhancing our stay in Green Lake!
Darling place and so well decorated. Enjoyed our stay. One of our gals tried fishing but it was chilly and they weren't biting. Good places to eat. Loved the pizza at the Goose Blind.
I had a girls weekend at the Sunset Nook and it was perfect for 4 ladies who just wanted to hang out together. The moment we got there it we were impressed! It felt so homey and comfortable. We had the fire roaring and for a majority of our time we stayed at the cottage instead of venturing out. It was immaculate! The beds were very comfortable for everyone! We did not try out the shower or bath tub. Everything was ready for us to just focus on spending time together. I cannot wait to go back to the sunset nook...it felt more homey than my own home!
This property is five stars! It is a luxurious little home with all the amenities you could ever ask for and the home was SPOTLESS! It is in a little cove off the main lake making for very peaceful mornings and evenings void of boat traffic or noise. It is walking distance to a coffee shop and a few restaurants/bars downtown. We brought three young children and they were very entertained with all of the games and lawn toys that the owner had stocked for kids. Great stay! We will be back again!!
We enjoyed our stay at this charming cottage and the wonderful little town of Green Lake. It is a great location near a wonderful play ground and right by the downtown of Green Lake. It is a part of a condo complex which wasn't mentioned but it is still pretty private. There are many restaurants within walking distance of the property.
We were stunned at how spotless and luxurious the home was. The owner had the home stocked with literally everything we could have wanted or needed, and it looked brand new. We will be back!
Sunset Nook is our favorite place stay to enjoy time with our family. Faith's attention to details and her willingness to work with us to make our stay special is one of the reasons we love her cottage. The location of the cottage is perfect with its closeness to downtown Green Lake and its beautiful sunsets. We look forward to our next stay at the Sunset Nook cottage. You can book this cottage and know it is a little slice of heaven on Earth.
Sunset Nook was even better than we imagined. So cozy and decorated very nice. The view of the water was very nice and it was within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. Read all the notes from other guests that have stayed and all were very positive. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Everything you need for a home away from home was provided. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a getaway.
We found the cottage to be even more beautiful than expected. When I first walked through the door, I was so overwhelmed that it brought tears to my eyes. Faith has thought of everything and their was nothing we lacked during our stay. We enjoyed looking out at the waterfowl on the beautiful lake from the dining room table when we got up in the morning and watched the beautiful sunsets each night. Having a canoe to paddle around in was wonderful as well. We felt so relaxed at the end of our stay that we felt a bit sad to leave and return to the grind of work. This has to have been one of our best vacations ever.
We had a lovely working vacation in this beautifully appointed cottage. Even in winter, the view was beautiful. We were quite snug during the week.
This property was picture perfect...just as the photos and description portrayed! Two colleagues and I needed a place to work near Ripon and this was a perfect solution...high speed Internet, convenient to restaurants, but comfort of home with a beautiful view. Productive and peaceful three days! The owner Faith was very sweet to work with. I would come back to this place again.
House was just as advertised....Modern, tastefully decorated with all the amenities of home. Clean and well maintained. Owner was helpful with suggestions for restaurants, had a little goodie basket for us and was very accommodating. Would definitely return and refer friends and family. We ate breakfast and window shopped in Princeton, checked out the historic Victorians in Berlin, sunbathed at Hattie Sherwood, rented a pontoon from Action Marina, fished with Tim, owner of Reel Em In fishing guide service (took home 10 walleye), rode our bikes and took nice walks. Ate at just about every local restaurant(I cook at home!)...enjoyed the pizza at Goose Blind, iced coffee at Sugar Lips, ice cream at Action Marina and the little ice cream shop down the road from Action Marina(can't remember the name...) and a nice dinner overlooking the lake at Nortons. Even my 13 year old daughter enjoyed the get away. Very relaxing way to enjoy the end of summer.
The house and property were very well maintained. The cottage decor was A+ as well as all the furnishings....very comfortable, great back porch overlooking the pond to enjoy coffee in the AM and the sunset in the eve. Very quiet setting -- close to good restaurants, great parks, shopping and marina. The kids loved playing baseball and football in the huge lawn and park across the street. We spent several nights at the Deacon-Mill park enjoying the locally sponsored entertainment. The neighbors were super nice...they gave us the low-down on the local scene. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone and would come back for another stay anytime. Also, strongly recommend eating at Adams Rib and Riellys Pub....golfing at Tuscumbia. Tuscumbia has a fantastic par 3 family course....ideal for the young golfers. We also rented bikes in town and went on a nice ride on one of the many routes throughout the area. The only minor drawbacks were the weeds in the pond and the low clearance bridge that needed to be navigated thru to get to the lake. This really didn't bother us since Faith had told us in advance that swimming should take place at the beach on the lake and not in the pond. Our boat sits pretty low in the water so the bridge wasn't an issue. The pond was great for canoeing and fishing though. A great vacation spot for any and all.
We just returned from our wonderful week vacation. We took our 7 year old daughter who was beyond excited to sleep in that bunk bed and our (terrible) two year old son. We went to the big shady park that is a super duper short hop skip and jump away every morning. We enjoyed the lake in the afternoon and even Wisconsin Dells one day. The house was so clean and comfortable. Faith has thought of everything! All of the comforts of home are an understatement. It did not feel like a rental cottage at all but more like a friend's house. We definitely hope to return!
We recently stayed at Sunset Nook Cottage and it was fabulous. The cottage decor was colorful and the furnishings were all very comfortable. We cooked some nice meals and thoroughly enjoyed watching the ice fishermen by the warmth of the fireplace. The holiday decorations were a nice touch and the gift basket of goodies was sweet, thank you. There was about 2 ft of snow and it was beautiful the way it clung to the trees. We took some nice little jaunts to several closeby towns. We did a little shopping, exploring and relaxing. . .thanks for sharing you charming cottage on the lake. Great way to start out 2013!
This was our 2nd opportunity to stay at Sunset Nook. As expected, Faith had everything we needed and the cottage was emaculate. She had even provided holiday decorations to add to the cottage's cozy, warm atmosphere. Since we arrived just before a snowstorm, she had made arrangements to have the driveway plowed and sidewalk shoveled. We enjoyed walking to Sugar Lips for our morning mocha and to Goose Blind for an evening pizza. Our grandson loved watching the ducks and geese swimming in the open water of the bay, as well as watching the ice fisherman and their shacks. This is truly our favorite place to stay, and we can't wait for our next visit this summer. If you're looking forward to a little bit of heaven Sunset Nook is your destination!
The cottage was wonderful. The location near the town was great and we could walk to everything. The amenities were fabulous as was the interior decoration. The kitchen is very well equipped and had a nice supply of spices and condiments. We enjoyed Adam's Rib for dinner.
My family and I stayed here over an extended weekend and fell in love with the cottage. It was perfect for us, very clean and so close to downtown. We loved waking up each morning and seeing the sun peeking over the water with the birds hanging out on the docks. It is a great place for a bit of relaxation while allowing you to be so close to town. Thank you so much for sharing your home with our family - it was exactly what we needed!
Sunset Nook Cottage is the ideal place for people of every age. However, for those looking for a senior-friendly vacation spot, this is it. Access into the home was managable for a senior with mobility limitations; only a couple of steps to get into the house. Ceiling fans and central air provided good air circulation and humidity management making it easy to breath. The views were fantastic and the peaceful surroundings made it a perfect retreat. This was our first trip in years. Medical conditions kept us home. FInding this home (it really feels like it) with all the right stuff (central air, walk-in shower, single story) gave us confidence to make the trip. Glad we did. Will be back.
We had a great time at the cottage - with 7 people (one child) it was a bit cozy, but we didn't mind at all. Great location, amenities, and extremely clean and new. Thank you Faith!!
My dad and I had a wonderful time at Sunset Nook Cottage. Every part of our 3 day stay, was relaxing and very comfortable, instantly feeling like home. I spent the first afternoon fishing from the dock and caught a pan full of Bluegill that were very tasty. Then I fished for Northern Pike and ended up bringing 5 to the dock. One was about 30 inches but all gave me great fights. With the awesome sunsets, outstanding cottage and great fishing opportunity, we would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you so much Faith.
We had a wonderful stay. The home is beautiful and had everything that we needed. Great vacation spot! The home is beautifully maintained and everything was super clean. All of my questions were answered quickly....very friendly! Would certainly think about staying at Sunset Cottage again.
We had a great time here! The home has everything you could need (dishes, movies, fishing gear.....)! Faith decorated the place so beautifully! Green lake was great for swimming. We spent a lot of time swimming at Norwegian bay. Thank you for the great vacation.
We actually spent two weeks at Sunset Nook and had a wonderful, relaxing time. The cottage itself was just perfect. We had all the comforts of home at our fingertips. I especially enjoyed the front porch where I spent hours just 'being'. The photos and description of the home are very accurate. The place was spotless and ever so inviting. I did have an opportunity to meet Faith and I can't say enough about her. She was delightful in every way, full of energy and enthusiasm and helpful suggestions to enhance our stay. Thank you Faith for everything! For the most part, we enjoyed the close proximity of the town making it possible to walk to the Farmer's Market (yum!), and various restaurants. The town just has a good home-town type feel. Unpretentious in any way, slow and easy - perfect for getting away.
My husband and I fall more in love with Green Lake and this rental each time we stay. Though the weather wasn't as cooperative as we would have liked, our stay was very restful and comfortable. Sunset Nook has everything you need to make you feel this is a home away from home. Faith has anticipated every need. I love the decor, the linens and that there is matching silverware, dishes and glasses, because how often does that happen? We know we'll be back, because we love the little yellow house! Thank you for a great stay. PS: This morning we saw a blue heron, fish actually jumping out of the water and a dark furry water mammal of some sort. Very cool!
Sunset Nook is an amazing vacation rental. From the moment we entered the cottage, we knew we would have a great family vacation. The cottage's decor is beautiful, it is well maintained and extremely clean and was even more amazing than the pictures on the website. We were amazed at Faith's attention to details. She has provided everything you could possibly need and more. We felt very welcomed, and cozy. The setting is amazing! We were literally steps from the water. Sitting on the back porch was so peaceful and relaxing. The sunsets are beyond description. I would have been happy to spend our entire vacation time just being at the cottage. We appreciated that shopping and restaurants were in easy walking distance from the cottage. The Goose Blind pizza is fabulous. Our 18 month old grandson loved the park, which is just across the parking lot. We had a blast chasing him from one piece of equipment. He really loved watching and feeding the ducks that swam in the bay just outside the cottage's back door. When our vacation time came to an end we weren't ready to leave, but we knew that we would return to Sunset Nook again. Faith was great to work with. She went above and beyond to provide us with whatever we needed. She even provided us with a Pack N Play for our grandson. If you are looking for a vacation retreat Sunset Nook is the place to go. You will leave with memories and recharged to face whatever life has to offer.
The moment I walked in I was taken with the charming beauty of this cottage. We spent a wonderfully relaxing anniversary weekend here and would go back in a heartbeat! What a beautiful place! The kitchen is fully stocked so you can bring all your own food and cook to your satisfaction. (Plus, the coffee maker is pretty sweet). It is the kind of location where you can do as much as you want or as little as you want. Just what you want for a vacation spot! We also enjoyed not driving the car at all for three days since you can walk pretty much everywhere! We went out for fish on Friday night to a local place and really loved being able to just walk across the pond to eat and visit all the cute local shops. If you choose to stay here for your vacation you will NOT regret it! It is also owned by a wonderful family that are so wonderful to rent from. Being able to make payments and handle everything online is also a huge plus! Thanks again for a wonderful time!
We are regular Green Lake vacationers. Recently my husband and I spent a few days at Sunset Nook Cottage and feel I must share my experience. What a perfect dream! Arriving at the cottage we were excited about the location - downtown close to restaurants and shopping, only yards from the water with a great pier for dropping a fishing line into the water. And before we even entered the cottage, there hanging on the door knob, was a dry erase board with a message from Faith welcoming us to the cottage. We unlocked the door and were wowed with what we saw. What a beautifully decorated, maintained and inviting home. We thought to ourselves, How lucky are we to have found this cottage. We've rented numerous homes right on the lake, pricey homes, but none with the comfort and convenience of this home. We walked to breakfast at the Little Corporal, ate lunch at the Goose Blind, bought coffee at Sugar Lips and the visited the new second floor Endurance shop bringing home a number of treasures. G fished from the pier, and I enjoyed a hot cup of coffee while I read the Green Laker newspaper sitting on the two seater rocker on the back porch. What a thoroughly enjoyable, relaxing few days away from home. Later in the evening, as the sun set and the temperatures cooled we rocked together and chatted about our day. Like I said, it's a perfect dream. All the things I could want in a stay at Green Lake wrapped up in Sunset Nook Cottage. I could not ask for more. Thank you. J
We rented this cottage in August and spent a wonderful week with our two adult children and one grandchild. The cottage was lovely; clean, modern, and beautifully furnished. Woke early every morning just to look out over the water at the birds and other wildlife. Spent most of the time on the water fishing and tubing. Cottage is right at the edge of town and borders a park. An art fair was in progress when we arrived. Faith was great to work with and very responsive. We will definitely be back.
This home is all the others have said and more! The minute we walked in the front door, we were in love with it! What a true treasure it is. We have rented homes across the country before but I can honestly say this is the only place we have ever rented that felt like you were staying at home, or at the home of a close friend. My huband and I were with our children (16,14,10) and my brother-in-law with his son (8). I was afraid of being squished but it worked out perfectly with them sharing the pull-out. There are so many things about this home I could rave about, I'll try to cut it down! The decorating of the house is gorgeous. The fact that the lake is literally at your back door is awesome. The kids and dads rolled out of bed each morning and went fishing in the canoe they proveded. I sat on that amazing back porch and read my book ALL week! Location to town couldn't be better. You can walk to almost everything. We even brought our bikes and drove to the beach a few times (also, tennis courts across main street). But to me, the most important thing in a rental is cleanliness. I don't want to spend money and have my kids walk around a dirty floor. This place is spotless! When I went to bed every night, I commented on how I felt like I was in my own home. Clean new sheets, comforters, towels, etc..... Needless to say, if you're looking for a place to kick back and unwind, you'll have a tough time finding a place a peaceful and beautiful as this one. Thanks, Faith, for opening up your lovely home to us!! :)
Serenity, Peaceful, Relaxing and a Recharge on my batteries! This place is amazing! It looks exactly like the pictures; one of the most spectacular points is the sunsets, and wildlife in this picturesque bay on Big Green Lake. I barely left to sight see the place is so spectacular, the entire time I was there! A blender, a book and a fishing pole...what more do you need? The layout of the house is really nice as we a girl’s week, and I was fortunate enough to spent two days by myself. The house was big enough for 6 to feel comfortable, but small enough that I didn't feel lost when I was alone. The house is exceptionally clean and well maintained. Pretty much everything you need is within walking distance, just a short walk through the park to downtown shops, restaurants, tennis courts and beach. We brought our kayaks for additional exercise; the place is located at the end of Gold Street, quaint and quite. It was by far our pot of gold at the end of the “Rainbow” Looking at the pictures now reminds me of how much I want to go back!
