Nestled on Baldwin Avenue, this two bedroom cottage provides convenient and comfortable air conditioned accommodations, (comfy queen sized beds in each bedroom), with the amenities of Historic Paia Town and Paia Bay just a 5 to 10 minute walk away. Baldwin and Baby Beach just beyond and all areas of the island within easy driving distance. Ho'okipa and Kanaha are short drives in either direction.
The cottage offers a fenced and gated yard area, shared with my one bedroom cottage (VRBO#457533) private parking, coastal style decor, fully equipped kitchen, ample space for your surf/windsurf gear, coin operated laundry, and an outdoor covered lanai set up for island style dining. Beach chairs and beach towels are provided.
Paia is a reflection of its history as a booming sugar cane plantation town with its old plantation style wooden buildings still intact. This quaint little beach town has an array of fine specialty shops, boutiques, surf shops, antique stores, bakeries, and even an old fashioned tattoo parlor. Award wining restaurants offer everything the discerning diner could want from casual bites, to the full service internationally renowned seafood of Mama's Fish House. Mana Foods, the legendary hip little grocery store built on local, organic principals is five minutes walk. They have a great prepared food bar, including soup and salad.
Your hosts have lived on the North Shore for many years. They are both active members of the North Shore community and can provide access to resources and hidden treasures that are simply unavailable to regular tourists. Whether you want to charge the winter surf at Ho'okipa, meander through the Upcountry meadows, explore the idyllic waterfalls of East Maui or indulge your tropical golfing fantasies, your hosts will ensure you have the local know-how to get the most out of your trip.
Getting Around
Paia is the perfect starting place for day trips around the island. A car is necessary if you plan on sightseeing. We do have a bus that takes you to locations around the island but you will miss some of the islands most popular attractions. The Maui Bus stop is about a 10 minute walk from the property.
If you want to try something different from the resort and touristy part of the Island, this is it!

Awesome stay for the price. We stayed here for three nights, right off the plane. Took advantage of the time change, and started early for road to Hana, and Waihee Ridge trail. House is very conveniently located. We enjoyed the ability to walk to local shops and restaurants. We loved Paia Bay Coffee and Bar for both coffee and drinks at night as well as Paia Fish Market for dinner. It was nice to have a place to wash our sweaty clothes from hiking before heading to Lahaina for the next leg of our trip. We were concerned about the AC situation upon on arrival— it seemed really hot, but cooled down fine before bed. We would stay again!

We had a good stay here for four nights with our college student son. The cottage has everything you need and is very clean. The location is perfect - especially if your plans are more mountain focused and less beach focused. The town of Pa’ia is a short walk and has many good restaurants. The house is set back from the road behind a fence with a nice shady yard and porch. Great place for a stay away from the tourist madness and still enjoy Maui.

This rental was great for us. We were there in the rain and it was great. We struggled the first day to get the ac to cool the bedrooms. The ac does a great job in the living area but the air does not reach the bedrooms and we used the provided fans to help with that. The rains brought cool air for the remaining days and it was lovely. The home is in a cute area that is shared with another rental. We would definitely come back and stay with this property owner as she had great communication and her home was lovely and just what we needed.

We truly love the location of this property! We come to the island often (it was once our home) to visit friends and family, and soak up the beautiful landscape of Maui. The property owners and caretakers were full of kindness and aloha! The location is simply perfect. Beautiful stroll to town, as well as to the Paia beaches! We can't wait to come stay again!!!!!
Jacque was a wonderful host. Great local tips, very responsive, and even provided us with a yoga mat. Location is a short walk to restaurants and shopping. Short drive to Baby Beach for swimming. Central for Haleakala and shopping in Kahului. We stayed in the 2 bedroom. Comfortable but will soon need some updating. Air conditioning is in the living space so it can take a while to cool down the bedrooms. Cottage is well equipped but basic. Loved the covered patio and the lovely yard. It is located in a neighborhood so not always quiet during the day but very quiet at night. Definitely recommended!
Well equipped home in a great location. Cooler, towels, beach chairs and boogie boards supplied. Walk to yoga, coffee and great restaurants. Friendly & responsive owners. One minor suggestion: new pillows! They were either flat as a pancake or lumpy.
Stayed four nights in Paia while visiting our daughter. We were within walking distance of the small town center so the place was very convenient. All the amenities of your own home. Very happy!
When we travel we enjoy living like a local. This property was perfect. Very clean, as advertised, well stocked. It was perfect for my three year old because he could play in the yard. The sand toys and beach equipment were an added bonus! Would recommend!
My Sister and I stayed six nights and loved our time here. House is located on edge of Paia but within easy walking distance of restaurants, groceries, shopping and the beach. The house is inside a gated area so very quite and safe. Has a lovely little garden. It was very clean and had all the necessities for cooking and relaxing. Paia is on the quieter side of the Island and centrally located. Host had excellent communication and the check in was seamless. Would definitely stay again. Recommend Paia Fish Market for eating and Fresh Fish Maui for fresh catch delivery.
Gorgeous little cottage style accommodation in Paia; walking distance to the main Paia area. Accommodation felt very safe and secure. Space was very clean and well supplied. Did wish there were additional beach supplies — such as chairs and boogie boards — available.
This property is cute, clean, and in a great location! The tiny downtown of Paia is a very short walk, which is awesome since finding a parking spot can be a huge challenge. This is a great starting point if you plan to drive to Hana. Would love to book again on our next trip!

This was a great place to stay- comfortable and close to everything in Paia! We were able to walk to places to eat and easily jump onto the Road to Hana, head out to Halekala, and access multiple beaches across Maui.
Quiet cottage near paia town. The hosts were very accommodating as our friends traveled with their one-year-old son. If you’re staying for more than 3 days, I’d recommend stopping at the grocery store for snacks/beverages. The home was equipped with boogie boards, ice chests, beach towels and a grill! There is a one bedroom cottage which shares the yard and still allows for privacy.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was the perfect base for experiencing the sunrise at Haleakala and driving the road to Hana. The house is well maintained and comfortable. It’s an easy 5-10 minute walk to all of the restaurants and shops.

This rental is excellent in every way, even better than it appears in the photos. Everything is accurate per the description. The place is well equipped with everything you will need and the location is great, you can walk to Paia town. The property was spotlessly clean - the cleanest rental we have ever stayed at . The owners are lovely , you really feel like you are staying as part of a community. 6 stars from me ! We can’t wait to come back and stay again .
We had a great stay in Paia. We wanted to extend our trip and stay on a different side of the island for a few days. Everything was clean and consistent with the listing and felt very secure. Jacque was very easy to communicate with. We enjoyed walking to everything and didn't have to worry about parking. Would definitely stay again.

The overall property is very open, yet private from the street. The cottage itself is comfortable and quiet. Its a short walk to town, and a few minutes further is a beach. I would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely cottage so close to central Paia! It was quiet and comfortable 😊! The cottage is set back from the main road with a rolling gate that added to our privacy.
My husband and I stayed at the cottage for our babymoon in early February and it was just what we were looking for: super clean, spacious, private, very peaceful, and the perfect distance from town. We could easily walk to restaurants and shops multiple times a day and avoid dealing with parking hassles. The cottage was just as pictured. It was equipped with everything we needed and Jacque was a delight to interact with. We loved our time in Paia and really enjoyed having such a great home base. Again, the location can't be beat!
Very comfortable cottage (with a/c) - in private grounds with one other cottage. Great location. Jacque was very easy & quick to contact and provided us with lots of pre-arrival tips. Easy stroll to Paia, where there are some great cafes and people-watching - outside Mana foods we saw a guy pull up in his pick-up with a piano in the back and proceed to play.

My husband and I had a great experience staying in this perfect little cottage in Paia. It is only a few minutes walk into the heart of Paia town where there are tons of fantastic shops and restaurants. The nearby beaches are some of the best on the island. The property owner is kind and responsive and the place itself is clean, cozy and comfortable. Highly recommend!

Perfect central location on the island to see everything. Far enough out of Paia to not hear the noise but close enough to walk in every evening and visit one of the many restaurants. We met the owners once and they were very nice and provided us with some tips for our excursions that day. The only issue was there is no a/c in the bedrooms, but as others have said, the ceiling fans work well and you can leave the bedroom doors open to get the benefit of the a/c from the kitchen / living room. We would stay here again if we are back in Maui and would recommend it to others.
Great location in Paia within walking distance to town and beaches. Clean, well equipped, easy communication with the host. The feeling of old Hawaii...pretty garden with blooming Plumeria, grassy yard and even an old fashioned clothes line to dry your suits and towels. Something to note for future guests...there are 2 bedrooms in this little place but no not count on privacy from one bedroom to the next. Not a big deal but air conditioning is in the living room and in order to have cool air enter the bedrooms doors must be left open. Rooms are right next to one another. I would definately book this place again.
It was a very charming cottage; really great for our needs. It's in a great location - less than 5 minutes walking to Paia shops and restaurants, and close to our favorite health foods grocery store Mana foods. Conveniently located to the airport as well as many great beaches! We had a wonderful visit...thank you! :)

We truly enjoyed our time in Paia! The cottage is a short walk into the charming town with lots to eat and many cute shops! We loved the health bar down the street for smoothies! The cottage had everything we needed for our stay and the beds were very comfortable!
The owners are very friendly and hands on people. The cottage is a 5 minute walk into Paia. It is quicker to walk than drive because Paia is a constant traffic jam with very little parking. The cottage was clean and had all the basic needs. There is a washing machine in the house at the front of the property $1.50 per load. The seating in the cottage is not conducive if you have back problems although the beds were comfortable. For future renters information there is construction going on about 25 yards from the cottage so there is noise Mon. Through Saturday 8 to 5. Which we were not informed of until we arrived. This is no fault of the owners but renters should at least be informed and have the option to choose before arriving.
We enjoyed our time in this property, and the hosts were great. The house had everything we needed and was super clean! We enjoyed the quiet location with easy walking access to restaurants, shops, grocery store and the beach.

Town is cool place to check out , good people watching to. Location is good for traveling to town of Hana and the Maui High country . I would stay here again if we go back to Maui

Perfect size, great location! Just what we were looking for.
We came back for a second stay at this lovely cottage! Perfect 2 bedroom! We loved being able to walk into town. We walked to the beach several times and found Baldwin Rd. to be a great place to launch toward numerous Maui destinations Even with the one bedroom unit on the same property we felt very private! Loved the plumeria tree who's flowers often found themselves in our hair as we practiced Aloha. Jacque was very accessable for any questions, or to provide extra supplies!! We hope to rent again next year with our whole family!!!!

We truly enjoyed our short stay here. The location is a better u short walk to the centre of Paia and the beach. It’s also a good stopover for the road to Hana. Lots of good restos and shops nearby and the cottage was clean, well appointed and very comfortable!

Paia hale was very private and comfortable. It was very convenient to have the kitchen and air conditioning. The location was perfect for exploring the road to Hana and Haleakala, as well as Ho'okipa beach. We enjoyed our stay and would love to return!
We enjoyed staying at this cottage in Paia. It's a four or five minute walk to town for restaurants and shopping. Downtown Paia is a bit noisy, but staying at the cottage you have a private, quiet and cozy accommodation. The decor was excellent. We liked all the windows which could be opened and the trade winds could blow through which cooled the house. We will stay here again. Josette
We loved our stay at the cottage. We arrived late at night after delayed flight and the directions were easy to follow/ the house was ready for us! We loved walking into town and our boys loved the garden. Paia was exactly what we were looking for. Far away from the resorts, more of a local and quiet vibe. Beaches were gorgeous and uncrowded... thanks for the boogie boards and beach toys too btw!! Aloha!
Perfect little cottage for a small family. My husband and I were traveling with our 13 month old son and it was exactly what we were looking for. Fenced in, private yard with nice green grass for little ones to play in. They even provided a pack n play for our son to sleep in. The house was cleaned and provided everything we needed for our stay. Close convenient walk into town. Would stay again and recommended to anyone.
The Paia cottage is perfectly located in Paia, so close to everything yet so quiet and relaxing. Everything you could need is supplied and Jacque is a wonderful host. We walked the streets, cruised the beaches and roamed the island from this great location. The house is spotless and has all the conveniences you could ever want or need. Mahalo!
We rented the 2 bedroom house on the property in Paia and it could not have been more perfect! The house was equipped with everything you could think of or need. The location was central to everything with a market and shops all in walking distance. a short walk thru town and you were at the beach! The owner Jaquie was a sweetheart and made sure all was perfect for us! We will definitely be staying here when we return to Maui!
I knew we wanted to be away from the resort areas of Maui and in a real town to experience our first trip to,Hawaii and Paia was the perfect place. This rental house was so convenient to go to the beach for a morning walk, return for breakfast, set out for the volcanoe, Hana Highway, and everywhere else on the island and have plenty of restaurant choices and more beach sunsets when we returned. We arrived in a heat wave and the owners quickly decided to install an air conditioner, a saving grace for a good night's sleep. We heard no traffic and only the crowing of roosters in the morning, a wonderful sound of island living. The house was equipped with all we needed including a blender for smoothies to use that great island fruit. The Mana Food Market was the perfect place for staples. Everything is a 5-10 minute walk away--beach, groceries, restaurants, so no need to use the car if you don't want to. We didn't understand the owner's concern about dirt until we experienced red Maui sand! Beware of not sitting on rocks and sand at the beach in your best clothes or bathing suit. It's hard to get off!
Close enough to walk to town or walk to one of the beaches. Excellent clean property and home. We loved it. One drawback was a charcoal grill instead of gas. We would have grilled had there been a gas grill. Instead we ate out more than usual.
My two teenage daughters and I stayed there over Christmas holidays. It was really clean and well appointed. The house was charming, in and out. It was surrounded by a large fence and it felt very safe. We could walk to town easily because we were very close to the action. We didn't hear any noise from the road and each room had a large ceiling fan. We slept really well. Jacque was there to greet us and came back to make sure everything was ok. Thank you again. We will cherish this holiday forever.
This property was absolutely perfect for our vacation. We were two couples out to find relaxation and a bit of adventure... we found exactly that with this cottage. It's an easy walk to the local town which has amazing restaurants, a store with everything you need, shopping, and a great beach just down the road. It's a nice change from the super-tourist / crowded parts of Maui. The house was clean and comfortable with everything we needed... coffee machine, things to cook and bbq, and a great private patio to sit in the sun in the mornings. We drove to the other side of the island for a day to do a catamaran trip, but near the cottage we found a great little hike to a waterfall, tropical drives on the hana highway, and even drove the hour up to the volcano to watch the sunrise. This cottage is perfectly placed on the island so you can either stay in town and relax, or take a short drive to many other activities and locations. We will absolutely be back and I would highly recommend staying in Jacque's cottage... she was a perfect host - always available and provided tips and recommendations. All around so very happy we stayed there!
I am embarrassed I'm just getting to this! My husband & I stayed at Jacque's great place last fall for several days. First of all, she is amazing!!!! secondly, the place was perfect….in walking distance to the town, beautiful, private, spotless! I loved it. We stocked up on food and wine in Paia and had several meals on site. We will be back for SURE!!!
This garden cottage is exactly as it looks in the photos. It is perfect for those who value being in a neighbourhood and wish to experience what it would feel like it you lived in Paia. Completely renovated in 2013, elegant living, dining and kitchen all together, soft beach tones, high quality linens, tons of natural light, excellent internet access. Spotless garden, well set up to dine on the lanai, leave your beach things outside and be barefoot on stylish concrete floors inside. The setting is very peaceful. Walking to the village was super handy for groceries, morning coffee, shopping, eating out. Baldwin Beach, Baby Beach, the Cove, Hookipa, Hana highway - are all right there. We found Paia super central for driving east or west on Maui, but you could easily spend a week at the local beaches without needing a car. We just loved coming home at the end of each spectacular day, away from it all. If you like authenticity with style, this is for you. The property shares the garden with another small cottage across the lawn. The design encourages the privacy of both we found. We plan to return for sure!
Put down those cell phones and forget about work! This place allows you to really sink back to what life is about. Soothing, clean, comfortable and everything you need. We stayed is 3 places and my wife loved this place the most due to being quiet and comfortable. Will be back.

Due to last minute planning, we had trouble finding a place to stay in Maui. This property let us split our time between their two bedroom and one bedroom rental (we switched halfway through our visit). They made the switch very easy, and both were very comfortable for my husband and I, our toddler, and my two sisters who tagged along. Both had well-appointed kitchens, comfortable, spacious bedrooms and living space, and nice patios. The location is an easy walk into Paia and the beach and the hosts were very sweet and helpful in recommending a great beach for our toddler and providing beach toys (they also had a soft surfboard, a boogie board, and an ice chest available to use). There was also a nice lawn on the property for our son to run around. The only downsides were that the internet went in and out of working (more of an issue because this was a working vacation for my husband and myself) and we realized when we went to make dinner one night that we'd assumed there was a bbq and there wasn't!
In a quaint location just of Baldwin Avenue lies this perfect little gem of a vacation rental where our family of three spent a glorious month living the dream. It is nearly impossible to describe how amazing our time was here but I will try. First off, the cottage is welcoming, comfortable, and very clean. The yard is and fenced in which allowed us to relax on the lanai while our toddler played on the lush grass. The beaches in the area are simply amazing from Baldwin beach, baby beach and many more that we discovered during our stay. The town of Paia is a short walk from the cottage, taking less than five minutes to reach the heart of it. Five more and you're at the beach. Since you will be renting a car anyway the accessibility to the whole Island is second to none from this spacious cottage. We spent some days hiking and trekking through the lush tropical bamboo trails, exploring waterfalls and the epic east side of the island. Mana foods is there for your grocery needs and if that's not enough a quick drive to Wailuku works for anything you wouldn't find in Paia - now one of my favorite towns on Earth. Jackie, Danny and their family are just really good people as well and you can tell they really respect their property as it is always manicured, not to mention they treat their tenants like gold. We are not the needy travelers but if we had any questions they where prompt to answer and help us. I could go one forever about why to rent here and all I will say is I've been to many countries and stayed in many places but this has been my favorite so far. It is a wonderful place to stay in all facets in an unrivaled location operated by caring and trustworthy people. We can not WAIT to come back!

Wir eine Familie mit drei Kindern erlebten ein wunderschöne Zeit in diesem Haus Wir hatten das Haus für einen Monat gemietet, und selbst diese Zeit war viel zu kurz. Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, Komplett ausgestattet, Die Vermieter haben uns Tipps für Ausflüge, gegeben und waren sehr hilfsbereit! Maui ist eine besonders schöne Insel und hat tausend Möglichkeiten speziell wenn man Wassersport liebt. Es gab nichts negatives nur positives, wenn wir wieder kommen wäre dieses Haus die erste Adresse die wir anfragen! We are a Family with three children(one small one), we stayed in this beautiful house in Paia for a month . We came for windsurfing. We really enjoied the very nice atmosphere of the house and its tasteful style.It it is peferctly equiped ,nice situated in a garden and very quiet. Paia with its shops and boutiques is in walking disctance, pefect! The owners were very helpfull and we got so much tips for Maui, for special beaches and trips. We even got Papayas from the garden every morning, wonderful !There is nothing negativ to tell. If we come back to Maui ,this would be the place to ask for.The third house is just getting finished.
