Experience real island living in Bathsheba. Simple,Rustic and peaceful with a beautiful view of the East coast. Surf at Soup Bowl or relax in the tide pools. Take a hike along the old railroad which is along the coast towards the South of Bathsheba. Bathsheba is a very rugged, beautiful and quiet area. True island life. The busier South and West coasts are about a 30 min drive. I do recommend a car rental, but there is also good bus service to this area.
Home to the world famous surf spot, Soup Bowl. Check the waves from the balcony. There are tide pools to enjoy and rock caves, walk along the old railroad track to the south of Bathsheba. There is no swimming in Bathsheba, only in the tide pools.
There are a few restaurants, the Roundhouse and Atlantis. and 3 local rum shops who also serve good Bajan food
Overall good. Responsive property management
Magical property. Spent 8 nights with my three sons who surf. House was like living in a tree house in paradise. Kitchen had everything we needed. Enjoyed trying local restaurants but staying home was the best. Hope to come back next year!
Rustic home, but beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean were two of the top features. No problem watching the surfers go way out every morning. Limited but unique grocery shopping nearby. If the porch door and the living room door were open, usually nice breezes. There were no screens in the windows and there were flies and mosquitoes plenty. Anti-mosquito coils helped at night out on the porch. The loft was hot at night even with a fan or fans and unless you wanted to be bitten alive at night you needed to cover up in the back bedroom. Our family was still happy with the experience.
Beach House my home away from home on my home soil...I miss it when I'm not there and when I'm there I enjoy the calmness of the view and I don't want to leave when it's time to say good-bye...I am hopeful always for a return visit. Melanie is always very available and accommodating. I highly recommend it for families. Love birds. Honeymooners it's just well rounded and suitable for the young and the young at heart.
The home is perfect if you like to surf and-or if you are looking for something outside the tourist area. The east side of the island is beautiful and you'll get to enjoy a stunning view from the terrace where we were having early breakfast every morning. The house has all the basic that you need. Also, worth noticing, you don't get any insects, at least in March. We couldn't believe it. The house was clean and has a prime location for any surfers who are interested in checking Soup Bowl without leaving their bed! Melanie is fast at answering emails and she will go out of her way to help you. She provided us with cab rides, car rental and surfboards. The surfboards are not new, but they do the job and we were very happy with them. Melanie knows the good surf spots and will help you to choose wisely. She is also, a very good surfer. If I come back to Barbados, I will definitely come back to this home. The only problem was the Internet which can sometime be a bit slow. They call it island time, and you actually get use to this peaceful rhythm. The island is beautiful and the locals are very friendly. Ya Man, enjoy!
