Even though the rental is not on the lake, you will love this beautifully appointed cottage and enjoy your Green Lake experience. The comfortable and clean home has two bedrooms and a new bathroom on the first level with three bedrooms and a bathroom in the lower level. A sun-filled kitchen with breakfast bar and dining along with a sitting area with fireplace and flatscreen TV. The first floor also has a delightful living room for puzzles, reading and/or watching another flatscreen TV. A front porch with big windows provides gorgeous views beautiful view of the lake. Outside the kitchen is another perfect porch for morning coffee or a delicious meal with a glass of wine watching the stunning sunset. Behind the house is a deck for sunning or reading or napping. Lovely backyard and great neighbors. Space for horseshoes, croquet or other lawn games. There is a fire pit for enjoyment when the weather cools. Located at 448 South Street it is 1.5 blocks from the Marina where you can rent/dock water vehicles. Hattie Sherwood Beach is an easy walk from the cottage. SORRY we have a no pet policy.
A delightful town on a 7 by 2.5 miles big lake, Green Lake has so much to offer - fishing, golfing, biking, hiking, boating, shopping, Wednesday Concerts in the Park, Thrasher Opera House downtown provides concerts, Friday's Farmer's Market, antiquing, performing arts, a fabulous Community Center with a state-of the art fitness center, art, ice fishing, snowmobiling, ice skating, sledding, etc. Please review the fun events and activities occurring year round. You can also rent and/or dock a boat and/or jet ski at Action Marina. Bayview Motel also rents pontoon boats for more exploring and excitement. The cute Hattie Sherwood beach is an easy walk and a larger beach is on the west end of the lake - County Park.
This was our second summer in a row staying at the Back Pond Cottage. Perfect in-town location - a quick walk to the marina, shops and restaurants. Owners are nearby and so friendly and helpful. Home had everything we needed for multiple families with kids ages 1, 3 and 6. We’ll be returning next year!
We had a wonderful time at Back Pond Cottage. We were here for our sons wedding and the place was big enough to host family dinner day after wedding. I want to thank Jo Ellen for the Pac n Play and gate that was definitely needed for a active one year old! We will definitely stay there next time we visit Green Lake!!
Lovely quiet setting with view of lake and easy access of Green Lake Village.
We had the best visit to Green Lake! The Back Pond Cottage was the perfect location so we could take in all of Green Lake's activities and not have to drive. We rented a boat at the marina, went to the Friday Farmers Market, shopped in the boutique at Town Square and all the shops in GL, had drinks and listen to music at The Tap at Town Square and tried every restaurant in town. And rented electric bikes from Moboevo on Hill Street. We can't believe how many fun events GL has and can't wait to come back next year with our friends!!
A beautiful cottage with an amazing view! Jo Ellen is a great host and super helpful! Definitely will be back again!
What a fantastic house - you can't beat the location, and it fit our group's needs perfectly. We'll definitely be back next year!
Absolutely gorgeous house in a great neighborhood practically on Green Lake. Spacious and very well decorated. It was perfect for our group of 4 there on a golf trip. Can’t wait to come back and stay here again.
This was our second stay and just as great as the first. Terrific location and the cottage is a wonderful place to enjoy Green Lake from. The lake/back pond sunset views are fantastic!
Clean and green. Beautiful location
This is the second time that we have stayed at Jo Ellen's lovely home with two of our children and their families. We felt very welcome as we arrived and were greeted with festive mums and pumpkins outside and the special touches that awaited us inside. The large living space provided by the bright and cheery kitchen/great room is a perfect place for the family to gather for meals, game playing, and simply reconnecting. We appreciated enjoying morning coffee on the front porch and time on the deck looking at the lake. Early risers and night owls can easily find a quiet place away from others. The house is immaculate and is furnished with all the kitchen equipment you could need. We appreciate the walk-to-town location that allowed us to easily go to and from activities, restaurants, and the marina. Jo Ellen is a kind and welcoming host and we thank her for allowing us to make great family memories. We are all hoping to be able to return next year.
Could not be happier with our stay here. Was the perfect spot for access to Green Lake and Lawsonia. Cottage was immaculate, well furnished and super comfortable. Incredibly maintained and welcoming property. Everything was legitimately perfect. Not one complaint and we may well be back soon! Thank you!!
We’ve been coming up to Green Lake for years with our family and friends and this was hands down the best stay we’ve had for a bigger group. The views and sunset were beautiful, access to lake close and easy for boating/kayaking, teens had places to walk to and get away from their lame parents, cute porch for morning coffee and evening cocktails... just loved it. AND plenty of seating and mirrors and towels - all high priorities of mine. Jo Ellen and Sean were fantastic to work with. HIGHLY recommend this for your next stay!
The host is easy going and responded quickly to any questions. The cottage was well located and superbly stocked and very beautiful. Had everything we needed and some more! We had a fantastic time and would love to come back. Thank you Jo Ellen!
This rental was in great condition and had plenty of room. The location is great as it is super close to town and the marina. We enjoyed watching the meteor shower and roasting s'mores in the backyard. We walked to the bandshell for the weekly concert and enjoyed ice cream. The owner was super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again.
Our family was impressed with the property; we enjoyed our stay. It was accessible to walk to town and bike around Green Lake. Jo Ellen was very good at responding to our questions. She was prompt and friendly. We also recommend the pontoon rental for the day; fun times! Thank you.
My family met up at the Back Pond Cottage for a long weekend in Green Lake and it was wonderful! The house is located less than a block from the marina - quick walk to the boat and shopping. Our group included 5 adults and 2 children (ages 5 and almost 2) and the room layout worked great - with room to spare! The home's open floorplan made it easy for us to gather inside, as well as lots of outdoor space, including a deck with a dining table that seats 6, and a backyard fire pit. It's beautifully landscaped, too! Lots of games and toys for the kids was an added bonus. (Note - If you are traveling with a baby the bathrooms do not have tubs.) The owners live next door and were so friendly and attentive. We highly recommend this spot!
We had a great time this past weekend in Green Lake. Jo Ellen and her husband were gracious hosts and the home is very clean and well-appointed. We were one block from all the attractions and even though we did not dine out or go shopping due to COVID - it was nice to at least be able to walk for coffee, ice cream and to check out the live music in the park on Wednesday evenings and the farmers market on Saturday. We had 9 adults and two toddlers with us and we all fit comfortably in the home. I'd recommend this home to anyone! Thanks, Jo Ellen for a great stay!
We were searching for a short-term rental in a quaint little town (our long-time favorite) and found THE ideal spot using VRBO. The property owner was immediately responsive and VERY accommodating on all fronts. The cottage was perfectly adorned with many amenities you would never find elsewhere, i.e., every kind of cooking item you would need to coffee/filters, ample areas within the home and outside for relaxation. It felt as if we were staying in the home of a personal friend. Thank you for accommodating our family for a short and treasured experience. We will definitely return!
Jo Ellen's guest house was absolutely amazing. The house was extremely clean, and had anything you can possibly need during your stay. There was a ton of space for me and my 9 friends, and we all slept very comfortably. The decks and front porch are great and the house has a beautiful view of the lake and is only a block or two from the town. We couldn't have asked for a better stay, and we are already planning our trip for next year!! 15/10 recommend, we can't wait to go back.
This is a beautiful, spacious home in a great neighborhood. We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend both on and off the water. Jo Ellen was a pleasure to work with and very accommodating.
You feel like you’re on the lake without being on the lake-the view is spectacular! The location to town for shopping and restaurants is perfect-you never need to use your car. Very clean, cheery and bright! There’s no other place I would stay!!
We loved the the beauty and simplicity of the place and the host added some little extras. Easy walk to everything Green Lake. The town is super welcoming. We come from the hospitality state but Mississippi has nothing on Jo Ellen and Green Lake.
Great location and comfortable home.
It was a great spot for our family holiday. Can't wait to return.
From the moment you turn into the driveway on the quiet, peaceful street adjacent to the Bay, you know that you are in for a treat. The meticulous yard, colorful flowers, and cute cottage and signage are the perfect setting; but the real surprise awaits you when you walk through the side door into the entryway. The colors, the cozy decor, the spaciousness, the fully stocked and equipped rooms are all indicators that you have chosen the perfect home away from home! And the location is awesome as well...only blocks to walk to restaurants, shops, town hall, Thrasher Opera House, Marina, etc., etc. We had the unexpected surprise of being there the last weekend in September and learning that it was Green Lake's Harvest Fest...craft tents, food vendors, live entertainment, parade, Farmers market, flea market. Something for everyone! It was our 8 women book club that thoroughly enjoyed spending time with one another in this special place. We loved discussing our book choice around the fire pit on Saturday night in the back yard. And it was lovely sitting on the front porch with coffee in the morning or on the back deck later in the day with snacks and a glass of wine. All the while enjoying the water views. Such peace interspersed with hearty laughter and alot of fun making friendship memories. Thank you also to Jo Ellen for being such an accommodating hostess. She was always willing to answer my questions and she did so promptly. You can tell that she takes pride in ownership of her comfortable home and delights in sharing it with us.
Property has what we need, space, location, clean and cozy. The reason we come back every year.
Starting my day sitting on the charming screened porch gazing at the back pond and Green Lake with my cup of coffee was delightful. Only to end my day at the same place but with my glass of wine. Magical ! I will go back !
Our weekend stay at the back pond cottage guest house Is exactly what we wanted out of our vacation stay. The house was perfectly kept and ready and even better than advertised. We are thinking of going again.
The location was perfect in a beautiful area. Walking distance to the town and nearby beach. The cottage was darling and had enough property for my 3 young grandchildren to run and play. Never felt cramped for space. Jo Ellen was right on top of any suggestions or concerns. There was a loose door knob and a handy man was there in less than 12 hours to replace it. There was no need for this, but they take care of this cottage like they live there themselves. I would say this has been the best VRBO experience for us to date. Thank you to our wonderful hosts. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway, or a great area for golfing or boating.
As our family gathered again this summer at the Back Pond Cottage guest house, we were once again greeted with a sparkling clean and beautiful property. The arrangement of bedrooms and living spaces could not be better for our family ranging from little ones to young adult children. The short walk to coffee and ice cream shops, playground and tennis courts, marina, and beach make this a place that has something for everyone to enjoy. From the well-stocked kitchen, endless fluffy towels, cozy enclosed front porch, and ample outside deck space, you will not find a more flexible and conveniently located Green Lake property. Jo Ellen has fashioned the finest VRBO we have ever stayed in, and she truly wants her guests to have a marvelous experience. We are so thankful to have found this special place!
For us the rental was convenient to town, the beach, the park, many attractions, yet far enough away to enjoy the quiet. The house itself is lovely inside and out. Jo Ellen has done a great job. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. The house is spotless inside and out. There are so many added touches that many VRBO homes lack. We can’t wait to return for next Oshkosh airshow.
Very comfortable. Had 8 adults plus an almost 3 year old and had more than enough room. Never seemed crowded. Comfortable beds. Just there for a couple days but would love to stay for a week.
From the time you walk in the door to this charming, cozy home, you know this will be great. And it was. So comfortable with plenty of space for everyone. We loved being able to walk into town when we choose to. The deck was so welcoming first thing in the morning. We all graded this as A-plus.
What a fabulous property located with beautiful lake views. Plenty of space to enjoy and relax inside and out. Very clean and very well appointed. Would definitely stay here again! Thank you Jo Ellen you’re a pleasure to work with!
We stayed at this property for a family wedding in the area. It was perfect. Although it was not on the water, you had good views of the lake. It is located on a quiet dead end street with very little road traffic. Walking distance to bars, restaurants and coffee shop. We would definitely stay here again.
This is the second time we stayed at this house and it was just as nice as the last time. The location is great in that you are close enough to walk to the shops and restaurants/bars. There is plenty of room to spread out or get together in the kitchen family room area. We had a wonderful family reunion and ice fishing trip.
A clean and inviting home managed by wonderful people. Plenty of beautifully decorated space for everyone, well-stocked for cooking family meals and a priceless view of the pond with amazing sunsets. All of this made for a perfect weekend getaway in winter. Combined with a few nice area bars, restaurants and stores, we had some nice activities in town as well. Everyone in our group agrees they’d love to return one day!
It is very spacious and well-appointed. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Lovely view of the lake
We loved our stay in Greenlake and would highly recommend this property!
Wonderful- no complaints. Thanks to Jo Ellen for sharing your home!
The Back Porch Cottage was the perfect place for our group(5 adults & 2 teens) to stay for a wedding in Ripon!!! Fully furnished, very clean and completely accommodating!!!! It was a rainy & gloomy weekend...but we still enjoyed the gorgeous views!! We all mentioned we need to come back in the summer to visit!! The downtown of Green Lake was so close, we could walk to coffee, lunch and quaint shops!!! Jo Ellen made everything so very easy and was very helpful from start to finish!!! Thank you!! We will be back!!
This was the perfect place for our family weekend in Green Lake. When we entered this lovely home we were excited to see the spacious family room and kitchen with their bright windows and water views. The home is immaculate, very nicely decorated and well-maintained. The four bedrooms and lower-level trundle provided very comfortable sleeping arrangements for our extended family of ten.The kitchen is well equipped for cooking, baking and entertaining. While the open floor plan provides a great place for group gathering, there is also plenty of space for quieter moments. In addition to enjoying our stay itself, it was a pleasure to work with Jo Ellen. She was gracious, welcoming, and accommodating. We certainly hope to return. Thank you very much.
This house is in prime condition and in a convenient location near the heart of Green Lake. The house was in a pristine condition when we arrived and had numerous unexpected accommodations during our stay (coffee maker, hot tub, dishwasher, etc.) We had a lovely time and will look for this house again next time we are in Green Lake!
Well maintained, very comfortable, excellent location, easily can accommodate 8-10 people. Grill and fire pit. I am very glad we stayed there.
The cottage exceeded our expectations. It was so well appointed, clean, a great location to downtown/marina/beach, and comfortably fit our group of 10. We had 2 young children in tow and the master suite in the basement accommodated all of us staying together without feeling cramped. Extra trundles and pullouts would easily fit a few more! Don’t be deterred by the description of a cottage, there is plenty of indoor and outdoor living space! The owner was responsive, friendly, and accommodating. We’ll be back!
We had a big milestone to celebrate- mom was turning 60! We had a few requirements to this celebratory weekend; family, food, sun and space because there was 10 of us. We decided to visit Green Lake, it seemed like there would be plenty of lake and town activities without the hustle of a tourist spot. We just wanted to relax and hang out-and we found the perfect place. The cottage rental had more than enough beds for sleep. What I really liked was all the living space. My family likes to wake up early and drink coffee and chat. The place had a living room open to kitchen. Which was nice during meals and cooking time. And there was a back room that we make out puzzle room. Right off was another sun room which overlooked the water. So peaceful! The other amenity was the yard. There were two decks open to use and a large grass way in between. Perfect if you want to bring yard games! Celebration was a hit - and my family learned that we CAN vacation with each other as long as we have enough space! Thank you to the owner for always responding quickly to my questions and local restaurant requests!
Ideal location for short walk to town of Green Lake eateries, shopping , fitness center, public marina and beach. The home is in excellent shape with well designed layout and very nicely decorated. Ownership customer service was terrific. Our stay was relaxing and loads of fun too. We did it all...fishing, water skiing, wave runners, wave surfing, tennis, yoga, fitness center, biking the trails, explored Ripon, and just plain lounging around. Thunder Boss, Adams Rib, Goose Blind, Christianos Pizza, 480 North, Little Corporal are all really tasty spots for eats and drink. The water activities are available for rent at Action Marina and Dennis Walker's Fishing Charter helped catch our fish and filet it for our delicious lunch. Without a doubt, I highly recommend statying at this vacation home...we look forward to returning to this perfect vacation home soon.
What a beautiful property! Our family of 7 adults and three children, ages 1,3, and 5 enjoyed every minute of our stay this summer. The amenities were the highest quality in every way, from the well-stocked kitchen to the fluffy towels in the spotlessly clean bathrooms. The indoor living areas provided ample spots to gather as an entire family or for grabbing some time alone to read and enjoy the views. The outdoor decks gave us options for outdoor dining and grandstanding while the kids played in the spacious backyard. Town is a short few blocks away, but we felt very much away from it all for a relaxing week at this terrific Green Lake spot. Jo Ellen is such a gracious hostess, quickly responding to requests for information and providing some unique welcoming touches. You will feel as if she opened her own front door to enjoy her lovely home. Definitely the finest VRBO we have stayed in!!
I enjoyed our stay at Back Pond Cottage. Great location to beach, boat dock, and town. Well stocked kitchen and areas to relax. We will rent again.
We absolutely loved staying at the Back Pond Cottage, it was perfect for our family reunion. The owners thought of every detail in this lovely and immaculate home. We enjoyed spending time relaxing on the deck, playing board games and connecting as a family in the beautiful and well-stocked kitchen. We can't wait to come back!
Our family had a fabulous time in this home. It was right down the street from town and the park so we could walk the babies in the stroller for outings. The views were amazing and the home was spotless. I would highly recommend staying in this lovely home. Jo Ellen was very responsive to questions.
We stayed at this property in Green Lake for about one week with our two young children. We chose this property because of the reviews and the pictures. We were surprised when the actual property exceeded our expectations. It was clean, comfortable, well stocked, and well located. We enjoyed grabbing pastries and coffee in the mornings on the main street and walking to the park or the charming local library. We will definitely be back.
Had a great stay and loved the house but the AC was poorly balanced between first floor and basement rooms. Overall the house and decks really exceeded expectations and JE was very responsive
Great place to stay! The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed the lake the warmth feel of the home. Wonderful place to bring our family and stay together. We had a great time.
Plenty of room to stay. Each room is furnished beautifully. Two inside sitting areas plus lovely enclosed porch. Kitchen is gorgeous and so well equipped. We loved our stay.
This was our third time staying. We try to come back every year in October to celebrate our anniversary in Green Lake. The town of Green Lake is thriving and a great place to visit, even in the off season! The location is easy walking distance to town. We wish we had our own... but until we do, we will continue to stay here! Thanks once again Jo Ellen!
We had such a nice time at Back Pond Cottage. The views of the pond and lake are breathtaking and we were able to relax and get away from our everyday lives.
The Back Pond Cottage is perfect for place for a family get together for young and old. The home worked out great for us do to its open, accessible floor plan. We had several family members (80+ Years of age) with mobility issues, who are normally restricted to one or two sitting areas. They were able to enjoy the outside sitting areas over looking the lake during the georgeous days and 3 separate sitting areas in the evenings. The small, quaint community was an added bonus. We have already started looking at dates in the spring for a return trip. Thank you so much for sharing your incredible home with our family
Excellent home for family getaway or reunion. Beautifully maintained. Great location and great views.
We stayed here with my husband's family to celebrate my mother in law's 80th birthday. We were 9 in total with 3 kids, and there was plenty of space for everyone... we slept well, ate well as a family, enjoyed the beautiful views, lawn and flowers... The marina for boat and SUP rentals, as well as all of downtown, was just a couple minutes' walk away. Jo Ellen was a lovely host. Highly recommend.
We had a large group who stayed in this charming home for a week. It has great views of the lake from the sun room and the deck, was a quick walk to the downtown restaurants, and was a wonderful home to relax in!
This home could not have been more perfect for our girls weekend! To start, Jo Ellen, the owner is an absolute pleasure to work with. She made us feel so welcome there! The house is so beautifully decorated and feels warm, cozy and welcoming! It is well stocked, with everything you could possibly need! It is very clean and well taken care of. The location is amazing, right near the water with a perfect waterfront view from the deck. We walked everywhere - to the beach, town, shops, restaurants! Green Lake is a charming little town and had a Farmers Market in town while we were there. We also visited a nearby winery and brewery (short drive). Although this house was perfect for a girls weekend, it has sleeping arrangements that would also work well for families. I can't say enough great things - we loved it!
We had a group of 9 stay at the house and it fit us all very well. Everything in is a simple walking distance away, such as food, fishing, boating, and the late night bar Gooseblind. Fortunately the weather turned out for us this weekend so we were able to enjoy most activities. For the use and pleasure we had spending the long weekend at the house I'd say it was well worth the stay.
My friends and I were looking for a Girls Weekend away and completely enjoyed our time here. The view of the water, the hot tub, the spacious open concept kitchen, the multiple sleeping locations, the 2-block walk from downtown - it had everything we needed and wanted and then some! We will be back again next year!
We have stayed at many VRBO's and this was one of our favorites! We have spent a lot of time in Green Lake over the years and have family close by, so it was perfect for a large gathering! We enjoyed time together around the large kitchen island and then watching the Cubs beat the Dodgers was a perfect way to end the evening! We are definitely going to try to get back over the summer. Thank you for such a fun weekend!
My family and I traveled from different parts of the country to spend quality time together and to enjoy a family wedding. The Back Pond Cottage provided us the perfect place to enjoy the town of Green Lake. We had plenty of room and the amenities were great. We especially enjoyed the front porch and the great room where we gathered and enjoyed each others company in the beautiful surroundings. We got to take in the charm of this special community by meeting the people, spending time on the golf course, riding bikes around the Lake, walking the town and celebrating a wedding with our family. This is a very special home in a very special place and I hope to get the privilege to return one day!
The house was absolutely beautiful. There was so much room for all of us to just sit back and relax and we did a lot of that. It is very quiet and so close to town that we were able to walk every where. The house was also fully stocked with supplies. The hot tub was super nice and we all enjoyed it late in the evening. Plenty of decks and a nice porch when the weather turned rainy. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend or a better place to stay.
We loved the cottage. It was clean and very nicely decorated. There were plenty of towels and kitchen supplies. The property was well maintained and we would stay there again.
During a recent visit to Oshkosh for EAA Airventure, a group of colleagues stayed at this wonderful property. With how crazy the airshow can be, we really wanted to get away from the madness for a few hours. While we didn't get a lot of sleep by nature of the early morning and late night festivities, what sleep we did get was restful and comfortable. Other reviews are quite clear on the quality of the property itself. A huge must, of course. However, it was the location that I really loved. Next to a lake, you can hear the frogs at night, see fireflies, and take in the cool summer evening air. In the morning, pop over to the Little Colonial for breakfast. Super fast service, and great food. Had a fantastic stay here.
Driving up to this place was so great because it surpassed anything I had imagined. The landscaping, views and location were perfect for out Greenlake 4th of July weekend. I was skeptical about staying off the lake but really the location to the lake and the views from the kitchen and porch made up for it. Inside the cottage was much more roomy and spacious that what I pictured, we had 3 couples but it could have slept a few more. The kitchen was charming and bright, such a happy place! A very short walk to restaurants, bars, shopping and the marina. Thanks for letting us stay in this adorable greenlake cottage! We hope to return soon.
We stayed at this cottage for a second year in a row. It is such a beautiful well maintained home and is perfectly set up for a large family gathering. We love the proximity to the water! Will definitely be staying here again next year!
This cozy home had the perfect charm for our annual Girls Weekend! There was plenty of common space for the ten of us to sit around, mingle, eat and drink! We walked to the bar down the street (literally 900 ft away) and were welcomed with open arms! The hot tub was the perfect relaxation as well! Highly recommend!
This not so small cottage was one of the best experiences we have had with renting through VRBO. There was plenty of space for all 8 of us, beautiful views, cozy warm atmosphere, and the owner was a pleasure to deal with. Every question we asked from what to do in the area, is there a good grill, and will the hot tub be working, were answered promptly and well. We hope to return here for sure.
We had a very nice time on our family getaway at the Back Pond Cottage. The cottage is very bright ,cute and a nice location by the water and close to town. It was also very spacious and the kitchen, dining and sitting area are which was great for visiting. It was a great house for just hanging out. The owners were very responsive to any needs we had - short on toilet paper and the trash cans were full when we got there. We did most of our own cooking and found the the silverware, glasses, plates, bowls were nice sets and clean. The fry pans and kettles are very old and many of the mixing bowls and utensils that we used needed to be washed before using. The house was very clean and nice except for the cushions on the wicker furniture. They need cleaning and mending.
Adorable home, convenient to downtown Green Lake. An absolute fantastic getaway spot!
Amazing house! Very clean and beautifully decorated! We had 8 people staying there and had plenty of room!! We have stayed in multiple houses on green lake and this is by far the best one! Would stay here year after year!
Our family spent a wonderful week at The Back Pond Cottage. We found this property to be spacious, extremely clean, and well equipped. The hot tub was perfect, and someone came to make sure the chemicals were as they should be each day. Easy walking distance to town, and a sandy beach is under a ten minute walk. We would highly recommend this well cared for property.
We had a marvelous experience at this property. The house looks cute and quaint from the outside, but the inside is very spacious and open, with many accommodating rooms. Very functional, and well decorated. We liked being walking distance from the downtown Green Lake district, which provides good food, recreation, and cute shops. I would recommend to everybody!
This cottage is PERFECT! When we opened the door and stepped inside, I couldn't even believe how lovely it was!! From the beautiful and charming decor to all of the amenities....every single detail has been carefully and thoughtfully considered. The house just screams...RELAXATION TIME! The cottage is so spacious and so so clean, tidy and organized. The deck is perfect for relaxing and looking out over the lake or for having a fun BBQ with family and friends. The hot tub is such a fun feature. It is so clean and comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with everything you would ever need to create a great meal. There are so many charming spots in the house to kick back and relax! The location is great too....you can walk right into town and enjoy all of the charming shops, restaurants and all the Green Lake has to offer. I cannot rave enough.....this place is wonderful and it was the absolutely perfect spot to unwind for a few days!! I hope we can return sometime very soon. Jo Ellen was so wonderful to plan our trip with! THANK YOU for the wonderful experience.
We rented the cottage for a girls craft weekend on a cold and snowy February weekend. The cottage was perfect! There were 4 of us, and we had lots of extra room! The main room had great natural light for our rug-hooking projects. Spacious, fully equipped kitchen. Warm fire place. Fluffy white bath towels. Sparkling clean hot tub that was serviced while we were there. We brought our snow shoes and trekked around the bay. We are planning a return trip in the fall. Jo Ellen was very accommodating and available if needed. Highly recommended!
This cottage is perfect from the first turn into the driveway. The colors inside greet you with warming blues and yellows. The entire house is immaculate and every room is decorated perfectly. One of the nicest thing was the hot tub.
My wife and I and another couple rented this nice house on New Years Eve and New Years Day. Lovely home, everything you could ask for and more. Very nicely equipped and very clean. Great location in town. Jo Ellen was very pleasant to work with and has great knowledge of the area. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone. Thank you Jo Ellen it was great to meet you! Thanks for the great stay!!
My family was looking for a great retreat for our thanksgiving family reunion and we found it at this Green Lake Cottage! Naming it a cottage though is a little misleading because the house was really spacious. The kitchen was magnificent and made cooking Thanksgiving dinner a breeze! There were plenty of bedrooms for our entire clan. The cottage is conveniently located close to the lake and to downtown Greenlake. Renting the cottage was easy, JoEllen was very accommodating and responsive to any questions we had. Coming up from Florida, my only wish was that it had been a bit warmer! lol--- Renting this cottage in the winter was great but renting this cottage during the summer would be awesome!
My husband, young daughter, and I spent the weekend in Green Lake at this lovely cottage. We were accompanied by other friends, couples, and children. The house was clean, spacious, and well-equipped. We were there in the fall, and had a spat of particularly bad weather. Still, it was cozy from inside, and we lounged and snacked and sat by the fire. Perfect Green Lake location.
We spent a long weekend at Green Lake at the Back Pond Cottage guest home. We were 3 families with small children and our stay was fantastic!! This house is in the perfect location for the marina, downtown, restaurants, ice cream and more!! The home was beautifully decorated with all of the amenities of home. We will definitely stay here again!!
We had just 4 days to get away with our 4 teens. This was exactly what we needed. We could walk to the boat rental area, out to dinner and the campgrounds across the pond. The boat tour of Green Lake leaving from Heidel House was a wonderful afternoon excursion as was the art show running thru the weekend. Plenty to do or choose to do nothing at all and just enjoy the beautiful house and lake views.
Back pond cottage served as our home base for a family reunion and was a great place for a large group. The house was beautifully decorated and living spaces inside and out easily accommodated our large family! Especially enjoyed the ample porches, yard, and hot tub. Owners were gracious and anticipated our needs (kitchen well appointed, plenty of linens, even left basket with items we might have forgotten from home!). Easy walk to the beach, downtown Green Lake and boating options. Beautiful views of the lake and pond from almost everywhere on the property. Would highly recommend this property for any family get away.
My husband and I were looking for a house to rent for our children/grandchildren to spend a week together. I was very picky when selecting a place and when I discovered Back Pond Cottage I knew it would be perfect for us! I have to admit, the beautifully decorated rooms immediately caught my attention as it looked like a cozy, comfortable, welcoming home. Upon arrival, we were thrilled with the location - a very short walk into town, beautiful views from every window, and so much to do without getting in a car. We spent a day at the beach, rented a pontoon boat, and even enjoyed a free concert in the park just a few steps away. We'll always have wonderful memories from our stay in Green Lake, WI.
Thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at Back Pond Cottage. It is beautifully decorated, well appointed and has a gorgeous view of the lake! Very convenient to downtown Green Lake. Girls getaway weekend - we relaxed at Evensong Spa, took a scenic drive along the lake (amazing wildlife!) and then enjoyed dinner, wine and conversation in front of the fire. Highly recommend this property and hope to return very soon! You won't be disappointed!
My girlfriends and I took a long weekend to get away and could not have been happier with the Green Lake Cottage. It was larger than expected with all the comforts of home. It was amazing in the winter, I could only imagine how great it would be in the summer! With awesome views and perfect location (right across from boat landing) this is the perfect Green Lake rental!
