Sunset Beach Haven, is a 2 bedroom, one bath beach cottage that can accommodate up to 4 people total (including children and infants). We make exceptions for 5 persons on a case-by-case basis, and with an additional fee.

Sunset Beach Haven, to coin one of our Guests, is seriously waterfront - you just can't get much closer than this to the beach and ocean. Any closer and, well, and you’d be on a boat. Located directly on famous West Beach in Oak Harbor and near Coupeville, Sunset Beach Haven greets each day with beautiful views of ships, seals, otters, and occasionally whales playing in the water, and of the snowy peaks of the Olympic Mountains rising in the distance across the waters, and of Admiralty Inlet with 180' plus views out to the sound and mountains. and another 180' views of Swantown Lake (yes, we have 360' views of the water). Breathtaking!

More about Sunset Beach Haven: To the east, watch the sun rise over the Swantown Lake Wildlife Refuge. Every window has a view of the water (okay, not the bathroom), and the Living Room is west facing to capture the warmth of the afternoon sun on a large private deck in fair weather, or inspire romance watching storm-churned waves while comfortably seated inside.

Evenings can be spent curled up with a book on our high quality Macy's microfiber couch and oversized chair, or playing games and doing puzzles with friends and family, or watching a movie on the HDTV. Cable boasts Wifi with two dedicated lines. We have a DirectTV cable box with standard channels, DVR, and and generally streaming services such as Netflix, HBO, and Amazon Prime for you to enjoy. We also have a DVD player with modest library (you won't lack for something to watch besides the scenery, if that's what you'd like to do).

Grill on the deck in summertime, though our new kitchen has about all you need for cooking at home. End the evening with a camp fire in our outdoor fire pit. (Wood is usually available.) And don't forget the SUNSETS - some of the most spectacular ones you could ever imagine. You may prefer an evening out with great dining options in Coupeville, Oak Harbor and beyond.

Our new kitchen with stainless appliances has all the creature comforts of home, including a 3/4 dishwasher, quartz countertops, beautiful cabinets with soft-close, added lighting, and beautiful tile.

The house sleeps up to 4 people comfortably. (note kids and infants count as people :). Ask about a 5th person, we will consider with special mutual understanding, and an additional fee.

We have a pillow-top Queen Bed in the Master, and two plush-top twins in the second bedroom. We provide extra bedding and a joiner to make these twins into a king bed. Our Macy's queen sleeper sofa has an added foam topper, more comfortable than your average sleeper sofa. We also have a portable crib with linens, and also a high chair for the littles.

Action seekers may launch their own kayaks and paddle boards to test their skills on the exposed beaches of Whidbey Island's west shore, or make the 10 minute trip to launch in world famous Penn Cove for a calmer experience. Take the opportunity to explore the hiking at Ebey's Landing, and bike the trails of The Kettles exploring a landscape scoured by glaciers thousands of years ago. Or, simply stroll the beach for miles at low to mid-tide directly in front of the house. Joseph Whidbey State Park is just a short 10 minute stroll north by foot up the same beach.

The historic waterfront town of Coupeville, can be reached in about 15 minutes by car. Oak Harbor, to the east, is about 5-7 minutes away for major shopping amenities and restaurants. Deception Pass Bridge and State Park are about 15 minutes north. And about 15 south lies Fort Ebey, Fort Casey, Ebey's Landing and the nearby Coupeville Ferry (departing from Keystone Harbor) with service to historic Port Townsend. Greenbank Winery, antiques shops, galleries, and the town of Langley are further afield.

Note, although we allow for instant book, we require additional questions to be answered after booking to complete the booking process. We want to ensure the property is a good fit for both parties. If we find out after the fact that some Groups are not a good fit for our property such as bringing too many Guests, or bringing pets or previous poor reviews, for example, we may need to cancel the reservation. This is rare and has occurred 1-2 times in 13 years of hosting.

On rare occasion we may have received a booking on a different listing site that has not updated to VRBO (usually synced several times a day). We try and resolve these issues promptly, within 24 hours of your booking. It maybe has occurred once in 13 years.
