Wailea Grand Champions #45 is a tastefully remodeled 2 bedroom 2 bath unit on the 3rd floor with an incredible ocean view. Please note that there is no elevator in the building. It's got a fully-equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, and air conditioning throughout. There are three flat-screen TVs, a Blu-ray player, complimentary wireless Internet, and telephone service with free long-distance calling to the US mainland and Canada. Bedding includes a king bed and two twins convertible to a king.
In the master bedroom is a California king bed with pillow-top mattress pad, a flat-screen TV, air conditioning, and full bathroom. The bed configuration in bedroom #2 can be either two twin beds or one king bed. Bedroom two also has a flat-screen TV, air conditioning, and a full bathroom. The master bathroom has a walk-in shower and a separate bath tub; bathroom #2 has a combination tub and shower.
There living room is equipped with air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, and a Blu-ray player. To enjoy the outdoors, unit #45 includes beach chairs and towels, beach umbrella, a cooler, and boogie board. This unit sleeps 4. It has two suites each with a bathroom, so it is ideal for couples traveling together.

The nearby Ulua and Mokapu Beaches are a quick drive down the hill from the The Grand Champions Villas in Wailea. The complex is surrounded by lovely tropical gardens. It is located in the exclusive Wailea Resort. The complex offers two swimming pools, sundecks, spa tubs, restrooms, showers and barbecue grills. In addition the championship golf courses of Wailea and Makena are minutes away as well as the famous Wailea Tennis Club. Wailea Grand Champions consists of 188 units in 20 two and three-story buildings.

This was the perfect stay for our family! My husband and I had plenty of space from our teenage boys, both had their own bed and separate bathroom. This unit has beautiful views of the sunsets and ocean! Great spot, close to shopping, and in a safe neighborhood.

We booked our condo last year while staying in a different unit which was not available this year so we rented this unit next door. This is a 3rd story unit, so the million dollar view from the large lanai overlooking the pool and BBQs was amazing. br/However the unit has many features that need updating. br/The furniture is older, not very comfortable and in need of a cleaning. br/The air conditioners were ok but the ceiling fans were loud which was a problem at night. The screen doors and sliders didn’t slide well. br/The slider coverings were very hard to raise and lower. br/The beach equipment was in poor condition. Umbrella was broken, sand chairs had broken straps, the ice chest was small and falling apart. br/Aside from all of this we had an enjoyable, much needed vacation of relaxation but others may be concerned of these negatives qualities. br/We will be looking for a different unit to rent next year.
Spacious for our family of three. Our first time staying in Wailea and we absolutely loved it, especially Ulua Beach. Surfaces and linen were clean and the appliances worked adequately. Carpet and furniture were dingy and mattresses were not great. Screen door closer is spent, so it kept slamming shut (sorry neighbors) and even hit us a few times. Beach chairs were great, but boogie boards and fins were thrashed. My biggest complaint was the master bath tub wasn't draining so I pulled a baseball sized wad of hair out of it (disgusting). Also should mention the cockroaches, it's Hawaii so not out of the ordinary. Given all that, we would stay here again, but would hope the property manager would put some effort into the upkeep.

Our family of 3 adults (me, husband, my mother) and 3 children (13, 9, and 10mos) absolutely loved this condo! The location on property was perfect because it was located directly above the pool so my older kids took the private side stairs straight from the balcony down to the pool deck while my mother and I enjoyed a refreshing drink upstairs. It's a 3 story walk up so it was a little tiring for my mom, but it was worth it at the top! Baby loved crawling around on the carpeted floors and this condo was so spacious for all of us. We've stayed in other units on property and this one has to be the biggest floor plan/size we've had. Will definitely look for this condo again when we travel back to Maui. Mahalo nui!
Location of unit is convenient and close to the pool. The furniture is really outdated and beds aren’t that comfortable. Also the washer and dryer is so old and doesn’t clean as well. Upon arrival the bathrooms were not that clean, and I had to clean them.

Cute condo within walking distance to several little stores/restaurants. The condo itself had lots of beach umbrellas/snorkeling gear which was awesome. The property managers were also super responsive and really helpful.
We had a lovely stay here. I found the place to very clean which I greatly appreciated. The rental agency was wonderful and was so responsive to my questions. The location overall was fantastic. I can't imagine staying on any other area of the island. The view from the condo was unexpected and wonderful. It was whale season so we were able to see whales from the balcony which was an extra bonus. There are a couple on amazing restaurants nearby that we enjoyed for happy hour and a coffeeshop within walking distance that served the best coffee drinks that I have ever tasted. If we get a chance to return, we will stay here again as it was the right mix of everything we needed.
This third floor unit above the pool was great for our party of 4 adults (2 couples) and a toddler. Very spacious and separate bedrooms. We loved being near the pool and the ocean views were most excellent. The blinds on the balcony were very useful! The location near the shops at Wailea was also fantastic. We are pretty active and mobile, so even with a toddler we found walking to the beach reasonable, but others may want to drive. Linens and towels and surfaces were clean; however the unit could use a deep cleaning. The carpet is quite dirty and a large amount of dust has accumulated on fixtures and decorations, as well as under the beds. We would stay here again but would love to see the carpet and furniture updated.

This is a top floor unit with a very large lanai and an awesome view. It is close to the pool and outdoor grills. It had some nice beach chairs and umbrellas. For us, this is the most important stuff and we were very happy with the accommodations. The unit itself and the furnishings, however, are just OK. It was very clean but in need some overall updating. Furniture was older and not the most comfortable; Air-conditioners were old and loud; screen doors and slider sliders didn't always work well; towels and bedding were pretty worn; etc. Again, this wasn't a significant concern for us. We called for replacements and Rental Maui supplied three brand new ones, unfortunately they arrived the afternoon before we left so we never got to use them. Air conditioners worked great but loud. Location a bit far to walk to the beach with all your gear, but only a 3 to 5 minute drive. I would recommend owner make a simple house manual including some suggestions for nearby restaurants, snorkeling areas, etc. They did have a copy of the Maui Revealed book which was helpful. We had a great time! The view was wonderful! The unit was in need of some deferred maintenance. The main Sliding door would not work 2 times. We called and received fast service. One of the kitchen cupboard doors became loose from a hinge. That too was repaired timely! The beach chairs and Umbrellas were old and we worried and breaking them. One of the boogie boards broke on the first day , we bought another one and gladly left it. The kitchen was very bare. READ the list of what is supplied. There were a few spices but none of the basics. We bought and left, cooking spray, olive oil, pepper, seasoning salt, brown sugar, tin foil, ziplock bags, garbage sacks, liquid dishwasher soap. We couldn’t throw it away. We hope the next renters will be able to use it? Or the cleaning crew. Cindy, who lives one floor below, helps feed the needy with her church, We gave her our unopened food as well as our leftover potatoes, onions, pasta, frozen vegetables, crackers, fruit..... The beds were soft and had great pillows! The Unit was clean and the towels were plentiful. The couch comfortable. The Unit had three large quiet ceiling fans, and three air condition units so temperature control was not a problem even when we couldn’t open the sliding door. The outdoor furniture was lacking. There was only a large table and four chairs. We had to bring dining room chairs out to eat breakfast or dinner. There were no Lounge chairs. I spent 13 mornings watching the best sunrise sitting in a stray backed chair with my feet on another chair. Lack of comfy furniture did not stop my enjoyment! Again READ what is included! Plan ahead with the toilet paper! Being in our 60’s we carried up our suitcases and a 70 lb hard golf bag up to the third floor and wondered if it was worth it......then we saw the view! It was more than worth it. We are booking the same unit next year! Damn the stairs!!!

Although it is within walking distance it may not be an easy walk for some, as it requires walking uphill. The condo is located on the third floor with no elevator. If that is not a problem for you, the ocean and pool view is great. Unit was very clean and well equipped for all of our needs ( beach towels, chairs and basics for the kitchen). Bedrooms were spacious each having their own full bathroom located at opposite ends of the condo from each other. Spacious living room,dining area, double lanai and and functional kitchen. Although a few things could have used upgrading (air conditioners are older and loud (but work well), older bath tub, twin beds made a lot of noise when sitting/ turning over) ...overall everything was clean and functional and the unit was very satisfactory. Excellent value for your money.

Overall the condo was in good shape and is quite large. The complex is full of flowers and trees.br/Unfortunately, it needed some important maintenance. I booked it a long time before the trip and later found some reviews referring to problems with the toilets flushing. I hoped it would be taken care of before we got there but it had not been fixed. If you enjoy standing over a toilet full of #*@#^%$ and holding down the lever for a full 10 seconds just to get it to go down then this is the place for you.br/The other major drawback is the pool below. We have never heard so much noise from a pool area. Some nights, the kids were screaming non-stop and their parents didn't care. Later the drunken adults would show up. We had to close our slider to try and muffle the noise and a nice dinner while watching the sunset was not possible. br/The kitchen did not have a good selection of useful dishes. Several of them were heavily coated with grease. They had been put away dirty. We washed almost all of the dishes before using them.

Our unit was right above the main pool which made access simple and convenient. We enjoyed the panoramic ocean view from the living room, master bedroom, and of course the large lanai. This unit is surprisingly spacious, comfortable, and has all of the items one would need for cooking, bedding, and items for the beach. The unit was cleaned and well maintained as well. We will definitely be coming back here for our next trip!

The room was very comfortable, relatively clean (the guest bed sheet had a dirty spot on it so we washed it ourselves to be sure, otherwise, all was clean)the AC worked great and we loved how quiet the area was. We chose to be away from the big resorts for that very reason. The walk down to the beach each day was a little bit of a jaunt but really, we enjoyed the exercise and it gave us an excuse to stop for ice cream at the end of the day each time! Loved having beach paraphernalia available to us too--appreciated the beach chairs,towels, coolers and snorkel gear available. Bathrooms could stand to be updated a bit but they were adequate and well supplied.

We are a family of 5 and had ample room with the two large bedrooms and two bathrooms. It was nice to have two separate entrances so as to not disturb others if leaving to go for an early morning walk. We were greeted with a welcome basket which was a nice touch!br/br/Washer/dryer on the lanai is a brilliant set up as you don't disturb anyone when doing laundry.br/br/There were some minor plumbing issues noted upon our arrival (from previous guests), and the property management dealt with it immediately. They were easy to get hold of and responded professionally. br/br/The third floor unit backs onto one of the pools but we never had an issue with noise. There are 2 BBQ's at one pool, 4 at the other, and we rarely had to wait to access them. The view from the lanai is as pictured and was our favorite place to start and end each day. br/br/The complex was very well maintained, clean, and quiet with easy access to your numbered parking slot. br/br/We didn't eat out at all as it was easy to make meals at the condo, but there are several restaurants in the Wailea/Kihei area, many with weekly specials.br/br/Ulua/Mokapu, Keawakapu, Wailea, Polo beach are 5 minute drive away. Big Beach is approximately 10 minutes drive. Several coffee shops are close by too including Starbucks at the Marriott Wailea Beach Resort although the prices are about $1.00 higher there than anywhere else on the island. br/br/Overall, we had a wonderful vacation on the island and a big part of that was the fact that we had a comfortable place to come home to every evening. We have visited Maui several times, and we found this condo to be a perfect combination of function, location and comfort. If/when we return to the island, this will be our first place to check avai

The Wailea area is especially nice, with relatively fewer crowds and good choices for beaches and dining. A couple of suggestions for unit #45:br/1) There should be 4 Tommy Bahama beach chairs. They did have 2 of them, but the other two were not as good of quality.br/2) The clock in the living room was not workingbr/3) The air conditioner in the 2nd bedroom was rather loud.br/4) Basic spices should be available at the unit, we did not have salt. I know this is rather petty, but given a unit with a complete kitchen, I would expect these things to be available.br/Overall though, this unit has a beautiful view and I would return to this one as well as recommend to others.

Condo was clean, but like all heavily used ones does need some deep cleaning. Had a few issues but contacted Maui rentals & they were speedy on taking care of our requests .. Spent many nights on the lanai watching the sunset & enjoying our dinner. Counting the days til next time!

Also great was the convenient access to a pool and hot-tub right from the balcony. br/Window air conditioners kept the unit cool.br/We enjoyed the amazing beaches 5 minutes driving from the rental - by the Four Seasons resort. Spent 5 nights. Property easy to find & access in Wailea. Short walk to shops at Wailea. Short drive to South Maui beaches, stores & restaurants. Welcome basket overwhelmingly generous! #45 is the third floor (top) and has an ocean view. Most buildings are only two floors. No elevator. Unit exactly as pictured. Glass shower with the tub next to it is the bathroom next to the twin bed room. Tub/shower combo is in bedroom that has ocean view. Windows face southwest so no full afternoon sun to make it super hot. Window treatments block out heat/sun but when lowered you can't see out. The second bedroom faces east but has shutters to keep out morning sun. Stacked, well functioning washer/dryer in a closet on lanai. We didn't utilize the lanai much because of a lot of teeny tiny bugs that looked like mini-ants. This was the only insect activity we saw (including inside the place) and they definitely liked food/drinks. You overlook the family pool (apparently there is an adult only pool on site also). Hours are 8am-10pm and noise from the pool was never a problem. Back stairs lead down to the pool so you have quick access to the BBQs in there! We saw the pool guy bright and early every morning. It is well maintained, as is the entire property. AC units in both bedrooms and in living area. Ceiling fan in living area was slow, even at top speed so it didn't stay as cool out there but wasn't sweltering. We had small floor fan with us we used to help circulate air out there as well as to dry our hang dry items. Kitchen was well stocked, we had everything we needed there as well as in the bathrooms. Plenty of nice, large Tommy Bahama beach towels. Lots of beach toys, chairs, 3 boogie boards, snorkel gear, fins, a large beach umbrella (that the pin is stuck so it won't stay straight up and down, only tilted so we had to tape it and then take the tape off to collapse it every time we used it). Swiffer dry mop and a vacuum to use. WiFi was fine. The place is pretty well cared for. The front door screen could use replacing, was riddled with large enough holes we didn't want to risk using it. The kitchen towels/dish cloths appear clean at first but have stains and could use replacing. The slider and screen to the lanai from the living area could use a little lubrication, they didn't slide as well as the master doors. Late check out was super easy to arrange and extremely convenient. Such an easy company to book with.

I'm fine with window AC units, but would just like them called out as window units. May of my friends/family would not have been OK with the amount of coolness that was produced, since it was pretty minimal in the main room.br/br/My biggest issue was with the internet and lack of follow-up-I called the office and left a message, but wasn't called back for a while, and then was told the issue would be fixed by EOD and to use the neighbors internet. The neighbors internet wasn't available in all rooms and the service was patchy. Never received communication back. As a project manager vacationing, I'm often surprised but probably shouldn't be by lack of communication on customer service issues like this. While I give the overall unit a 4.5 out of 5, this customer service issue certainly diminishes my experience and i'm not sure if I would stay again.

Reviewer Comments: The condo location and lanai exposure is terrific with direct views SW to the ocean, even from inside the kitchen, this is really underplayed. There is also a 2nd set of stairs from the lanai to the pool so great access for families without walking through the 100 degree parking lot. BBQ's are also at the pool so that made evening cooking and socializing a bonus. The unit was nicely appointed, and fully stocked with everything a kitchen would need plus more. Perhaps the cupboards and condo, air conditioners are showing some 80's(?) age but that's not a concern for anyone who goes to Hawaii. We had a gareburator blowout and leakage under the sink, just showing it's age but Rentals Maui had a plumber there first thing to fix it so very prompt service. Pool and maintenance were excellent, the guys were always there keeping things in shape. Location was super easy access to the beaches and shops.

We have stayed at a number of units, but really like the units that provide incredible views. br/br/This location was nicely decorated and very well maintained. The views were also stunning and allowed us to enjoy several sunset dinners. :-) We were also surprised to see whales on our first evening, which was a treat.

Three of our grandchildren came to visit for one week, and the pool was a place where they went every day. The condo itself was roomy and airy, so we used the air conditioner only when we slept.

As such, it has amazing views of the ocean and sunsets. The unit is right by the pool as well allowing for quick, easy access while being on the top floor still made it quite quiet. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to make meals in-house. The unit was also well stocked with everything we needed for the beach (boogie boards, snorkel gear, umbrella, coolers, beach chairs, beach towels, etc.). Location was great - 5 min walk to Wailea village; 10 min walk to Wailea beach. Bottom line, I would definitely stay here again. br/
