Hilton Head has become the normal Fall Break get away for an our group of teachers from Georgia. This is by far the best property we’ve stayed in. Will be rebooking for next year.
This was our first trip to Hilton Head Island. The condo and complex was great!
Very easy rental process.
We always pick a property near Coligny Circle. We chose North Shore Place. We have stayed in the building a handful of times in the past. Great location. Nice secure building. Beautiful grounds. The privilege of using the sea crest amenities is a huge bonus. This unit- like all others in the building- is a perfect layout for 4 guests. Very clean and efficient. The bathrooms could use some updating, but they are clean and large and this would not deter me from choosing this unit again in the future.
Have stayed at multiple units at North Shore Place over the years. We love the complex, however this unit is in poor shape. To start off, within 5 min of arrival in the unit I started to have a severe allergic reaction. I have a strong allergy to cats and I knew instantly the unit has housed cats previously. I needed to exit the unit to go to the pharmacy to pick up medication in order to spend any time there. We also had to open windows, however could only get one to open and it didn’t open very well as it was off the tracks. The unit was also very dirty upon arrival. Someone spilled coffee all over the floor and cabinets in the kitchen. There were dirty towels hanging in the bathroom which wasn’t clean at all. We realized the kitchen sink was clogged on the first day so I had to call and email the property manager multiple times. They finally replied saying someone was coming, however nobody ever came. After a few days of trying to contact them, I repaired the sink myself and unclogged the drain. I had to do this in order to use the dishwasher as the sink filled all the way up with water. It was disgusting, however I fixed it. Overall we love the complex, but the unit is neglected and needs some love. I suggest getting a different property manager, update some furniture and remove the very worn wallpaper. This would be a great unit comparable to the other units in the complex.
The island is one of my most favorite places on the planet, we have been there once or twice a year for the last 30 years. And the location of the apartment is the best. However, after I paid more than 500 per night (with all junk fees), I was a little bit surprised by the thick layer of dust on all kitchen and dining table surfaces, clogged tub drain in the smaller bathroom, and non-functioning most of the kitchen's ceiling light fixtures. Everything else is fine.
This condo had plenty of room for us and our two teenage boys. The location was great- right next to the plaza and a block from the beach. The pool on the same floor was great too. The decor is outdated (peeling wallpaper, the rooms were a little dark), but we didn't come to Hilton Head to stay in our condo. We didn't even turn the TV on once during our entire stay- so much to do right outside your door. We would definitely stay here again.
The location was perfect for our 18 year old daughter and her friend to walk to the beach and Coligny for lunch, etc. There were some things that were a little worn, like the carpet. The sofa and chairs weren't very comfortable and we had to plug in and unplug the living room lamps to turn them on, (couldn't get them to work by the wall switch and the controls on the lamps were disabled), outdoor furniture needed cleaning, and it was the first week of April, but the pool wasn't heated so it was freezing! The mattresses were comfortable and kitchen was well stocked, so overall we felt that the perfect location was worth overcoming any negatives.
The property needs some updates and we had some minor upkeep items that had to be addressed (clogged shower heads). The rental group had the shower heads changed in no time. The rental property was very clean but the cleaning crew did “kick” us out at 9:00 am and packed up our remaining items for us. Slightly inconvenient but we were already ready to leave but we were not in the unit when they did so.
I enjoyed my stay here-a very convenient location, spacious unit, and one of best property managers ever. But it seems the owners put this unit into VRBO with maintenance still needed. Kitchen is old/original but spacious. Appliances are old and have issues (D/W, Ref) and furniture old and worn in cases. The TV is difficult to operate with a single remote. Overall the unit is on the dark side due to location and older lighting inside. On the plus side, it is a quiet end unit, has a nice balcony, and it's a short walk to best beaches and shopping. The unit is on the pool level, which made for ease of access, and covered parking is a plus. I took for granted there would be an outdoor grille, but property has none. The courtyard on front side of unit on first floor is nicely landscaped but exceptionally bright lighting in it at night makes it not a fun place to be and the lights shine into unit. Needs some updating and improvement to get me to come back.
