Simple, functional cabin in a quiet development with a nice common area, including a pond and green. Lots of dog walking options, which is great. Easy access to the SE side of GSMNP (Deep Creek) and not far to Cherokee or Oconoluftee.
This house was perfect for our family. My husband and I have 2 teenage kids. We were able to do our activities in the morning, then return to use the swimming pond in the afternoon. It was wonderful. Very clean, beautiful, comfortable. My son was able to fish...and catch a lot. We were able to relax in a lawn chair or the floats. Perfect. It was just a short walk down a quiet street. Loved it!!!
Place was pretty clean, could use some dusting on the high areas. I was surprised with the lack of bugs in the cabin, I've rented many cabins before and usually alot get in (you're in a forest it happens). We did have a power issue the second night it ended up being a power company issue ( luckily I'm an electrician and was able to help deligate the situation). Some of the appliances and lights burned up because of the power issue and they brought over new appliances and light bulbs right away and did what they could. They answered every phone call right away and kept in touch with updates. I would definitely rent from them again. It is exactly how they described
The cabin was small for six adults. The 2nd bedroom on the main floor was a child's room , no twin beds as stated, but a day bed with a pull out cot. Small kitchen area. The lighting I we the kitchen table had dead bugs, a lot. There was spider webs hanging from the rafters. We would not rent it again.
The cabin was very cute, great amentities! Close to hiking trails and water. Loved the pond and had a great time relaxing with shuffleboard and games.
The property is beautiful, nestled between these enormous forest trees and wrapped around by mountains and nature. It's a 20 to 25 mins drive to Bryson city, where you can get a lot of activities, like going to deep creek water falls Smokey Mountains for swimming/tubing, relaxing in the picnic area, museum, train ride through the mountains etc. There's plenty of food places like local dessert and coffee places/gas stations too including a Walgreens if I remember correctly. Right across the property on the main highway, you can also rent pontoon boat to take a trip in lake Fontana too. Be careful as the approach to the place is very rough with huge bumps (I'd recommend an. SUV/Truck) for going there. The only thing I can say is that the cleanliness, while good, could have been better in terms of the spider webs. All in all, I highly recommend the place if you have a family of 3 to 4 people, love nature, and you just want to unplug and get away from the crazy city life.
The cabin was clean neat and very comfortable. Area was quiet and very pretty. The property manager was kind and very helpful. Location was within 30 minutes on good roadways to Cherokee. Would happily use them again.
We chose this property because of its proximity to Bryson City and the Great Smoky Mtn. Railroad. The remote-controlled fireplace was a very nice touch, since we had cold nights (even in April). A dog crate is also kept in the laundry room, which made packing easier for us. Overall, this was a nice place for our 2-night stay, and kept us pretty close to Bryson City for our train ride.
The house and location is nice. There is an inverter heater in the living room. The only source of heat in two of the three bedrooms is one space heater to share. There is an electric fireplace in the third bedroom. No heat in either bathroom unless you take the space heater in there with you. If you are sensitive to the cold or have elderly parents as I do, then this is not the place for you unless it's during the summer months.
Great property set in the wooded area. Nice greenery. comfy houses with plenty of spaces for all 4 of houses. Sure wouldn't mind making a return trip. Just two things to be aware of ... Our AT&T phones just does function It gets NO signal at all around this area (I would 15 square miles_. So make sure you contact the owner for the house key way before you arrived. The phone signal is way better when you arrived in the Byrson city area. Also, it may be a little challenging going up the slope of the driveway to the house. It's OK the first day when it's not too wet; but when it get wet (we have 6 hours of start & stop rain), it took us quite some try before we managed to get my car up/
We had a great stay. Our family enjoyed the neighborhood amenities. We made great use of the fire pit. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware. We would stay there again.
A perfect cabin to spend Christmas as a family in a fabulous location. Owners had decorated which added to the ambience and we were lucky to get snow! Enjoyed the area with long hikes in the Smoky Mountains and Bryson City is nearby for all amenities. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
The house is very clean. Outside is quiet. Very satisfied with the experience.
Very nice cabin. Very clean with nice decor. Wooded so you feel like you are separate from others. Great location - close to Bryson city and Great Smoky national park. Also close to lots of hiking trails. Would recommend.
We found this to be a very quaint and well kept cabin. It's perfect for a relaxing getaway. Beautiful balcony and cozy fireplace.
My family and I have been coming to this area for family adventures for years now. The Nantahala Forest and surrounding area is gorgeous with so much to do: hiking, rafting, zip-lining, horseback riding to name a few. The Hummingbird Hideaway was a great location for a home base. The cabin was very clean and hosts were easy to get in touch with for questions. We had a great stay!
We had an amazing time here! They had everything we could have possibly thought of needing. Check in was seamless and the property was beautiful! We enjoyed our time outside on both decks and around the fire pit! Great experience and we will be back!
Our family loved this beautiful, quaint cabin. Lovely as advertised and we enjoyed the fire pit, games, GSMR excursion, and waterfall recommendations. Also, recommend visiting the GSM Natl Park. Klingman's Dome had a breathtaking view! I would book again and highly recommend!
Very clean and secluded yet close to area attractions. Me and my dog loved swimming in the pond
The location of this cabin could not be better! Close proximity to everything we wanted to see. Off the main road in a secluded private setting but not too far out of the way! Lovely community with a nice pond, field, and stream a very short walk from the home. I felt safe taking my little dog out for a walk by myself. We hope to come back with a larger group next time!
The cabin was great for our family of 4 and 2 dogs. Everything was as described...and handwashing dishes was no problem at all. The owners were very kind and quick to respond. The Fontana Lake area is so beautiful! Definitely worth a trip!
The house is is a great location, near to activities including tubing and white water rafting. Great outdoor decks for separation of space. Community is lovely with a lake for swimming just down the road.
We truly enjoyed the property, including the field, creek and pond on walks with the kids and dog. We enjoyed the close proximity to hiking, the lake and rafting too.
The house was just perfect for our family: my husband & I, my daughter and my 2 grandsons, ages 14 & 16. It was situated perfectly for us to explore the National Park and the surrounding area. We used Pam’s recommendations for things to do & see in the area and were happy with every we did. We would definitely stay there again if we are ever in the area.
We had a wonderful time at Hummingbird Hideaway. It is close enough to any activity you and your family could dream of...such as gambling, swimming, boating, fishing, tubbing down a river, ziplining, rock climbing, even bull riding and much more.
Great location near Bryson City and Lake Fontana. Absolutely beautiful lake.
This cabin was neat, organized, cozy, and the upstairs bedroom was so charming. We love sitting on the patio, taking walks, and the kids loved swimming in the pond nearby. It's a short drive to many fun things to do (Tsali bike trail, tubing at Deep Creek, swimming at Fontana Lake, white water rafting on the Nantahala).
Great homey cabin in the trees. So many nice touches and cute decor. Outside could use some touching up, but comfortable. Had 2 vehicles, one being a big truck, so making the turn into driveway was tricky. Sign with address was down so missed the turn at first. Thanks for sharing your property with us!
Cozy cabin with all the basics needs at your hands. It was close to everything.
We really enjoyed hummingbird hideaway! The sound of the stream while drinking coffee and the kids playing in the stream during the day was great entertainment. Even the rain didn’t stop us!
Pam and Patrick's cabin is the perfect retreat! Perfect in size and super comfortable. Loved the surroundings and we were close to great towns like Gatlinburg, Cherokee, and Bryson. The cabin has all the amenities you need and it is decorated very nicely. We will definitely come back again!
Everything was very good. The sheets were stained, you must take your trash away each day almost to Bryson but everything else was great! Perfect location!!!
My family had a great time at the cabin. Our favorite time was sitting outside under the covered porch during a slightly rainy day, playing name that tune and other family fun camp games. We walked along the community, enjoying the beautiful and serene landscape. The cabin was comfortable and just what we needed.
The chalet, cabin, was absolutely wonderful. Very clean and little personal touches. Loved the upper deck when it wasn't raining. It was in the lower 30's when we arrived. Wrapped up and sat on the deck. Made use of the fireplace inside. Made it very cozy. We were able to get out and explore. Everything is within driving distance. The first turn into the driveway was a little hairy the first time with a Ford F150 truck but we soon figured that out. Beautiful scenery. The trees were starting to turn and that's one reason we came. Loved everything. Marge was the sweetest and was quick to respond to my texts and she even told us how to bypass Atlanta altogether. A little over 7 hour trip turned into a little over 10 hour trip because of Atlanta. Heading back to Florida. I just want to thank you for sharing your little piece of Heaven with us.
This place was the perfect spot for our family of 5 plus my in-laws. They even approved so that’s a big deal. It’s not far from Gatlinburg but because of the winding roads and park, it does take longer to get there. We were so excited to arrive that we totally forgot to go food shopping. However, Bryson City wasn’t far away at all and there is a very large grocery store there so it worked out perfect. Will definitely recommend and look forward to going back.
Ideal place to relax. You feel seculded, but are only mins from stores. Cabin was exactly as described and very cozy. Had a tree break beside the driveway while we were there. Marge came immediately and addressed it. Will stay again.
Great owners and manager!
Great location and all the amenities we needed for our stay!!
very easy to work with & property is in a very good location to experience all the mountains have to offer.
Cabin is exactly as advertised. Beautiful, tastefully decorated, fully stocked with all the basics needed for a relaxing stay. Looking forward to coming back next year!
My husband and I, along with our 3 sons enjoyed our time at The Hummingbird cabin. Marge is very welcoming and provided us with information about the area. Check in is easy and the place is clean. The house is stocked with all the necessities such as pots and pans to cook a meal. We enjoyed roasting marshmallows at the fire pit after our daily adventures exploring the mountains. It is in a nice neighborhood located close to Bryson City, Fontana Lake, Cherokee, and Clingmans Dome. We made some wonderful memories and hope to return next year.
The cabin was clean, well stocked and just perfect for our weekend getaway.
Very close to hiking and whitewater rafting which is what we came to do. It was great place to come back to and relax at the end of the day. House had everything we needed for our stay. ONLY issue was that we had to keep rebooting the internet for the WiFi. Other than that it was perfect. Thanks for sharing your home in the mountains with us!
We booked this entirely by accident but it ended up being a wonderful mistake. The home is 100x prettier than the pictures. We got in super late because the weather turned a 6 hour drive into a 12 hour drive so I’d say that’s the only downside was that we didn’t have enough time there and that in rained half the time. The little lake was perfect and super close and the trails were easy to find. ❤️ We would highly recommend this home.
The cabin was very clean and comfy.
My wife and I spent 4 nights with our two boys and my parents. It was easy to find and a breeze to gain access. The owner’s mother is extremely gracious and hospitable in welcoming us and offering assistance. From sitting by the campfire to playing by the pond, everyone had a great time on the property.
Rented 5 days as base for fly fishing the Nantahala River 20 minutes to great trout fishing Clean and Comfortable Will rent again
We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful place . It was clean and well stocked for all your cooking /cleaning needs. A magnificent view of the mountains!! We liked having dinner on the patio the most! Very clean and the owners were very accommodating! Would stay here again:)
My family(my husband, two girls, my mother and father) came to enjoy some family time and celebrate my dad's 71st birthday. The cabin was rustic but with new appliances and all the amenities we needed to enjoy our stay. The yard is very small, but there is a beautiful pond, and field within walking distance from the cabin. It was cold, but still beautiful and quiet. There were plenty of movies and games in the cabin. So we enjoyed our family time even when it rained part of the day. The cabin was fully stocked with all necessities needed. So we only had to buy food. The cabinets were even stocked with coffee, tea sugar, salt pepper and even seasonings. We had brought everything we needed to cook with, but it was nice that it was there if we ran out of anything. All in all we had a very peaceful and enjoyable stay. Thank you, we would stay again. Maybe in the summer, so we could enjoy more than the beauty of the pond. Thank you again. The Miller's and The Myer's, from Palm Bay Fl.
My husband and son are hiking the Appalachian Trail, and we rented the cabin for the weekend while they were hiking through the area. The cabin is incredibly charming on the inside and provided the perfect place for us to rest and relax for the weekend. It was only a few minutes from the NOC, where they guys came in on the trail, and we had a lovely stay. We'll definitely stay there again!
The cabin is beautiful and clean, the location was perfect for our group because we rented several cabins in the area for a hiking trip with friends. The description and pictures are accurate and the owners went out of their way to help us coordinate another cabin nearby when we added more people. We will be back in the summer!!!
We came in a few days early to meet a group of friends for hiking. My husband and I got this cabin to ourselves for a few days and were in heaven. We were worried that we would be too crowded when our friends arrived but we were wrong. The cabin was clean and comfortable for 6 adults (3 couples) and surrounding area (there is a large open valley) was perfect for our fur baby as we walked and played in the field each morning and evening. We also made a fire each afternoon in the fire pit because it was cold during our stay. Thanks for everything.
Stayed here to be close to Tsali. Great spot & super cozy! My dog & I loved it! We’ll be back! Thank you!
As you can see we have rented many homes from different states. We have never been accused of leaving a home in disarray. That is not who we are. We rented this cabin two times...….we only wanted it once...that was a scam in itself from the owners. Both times they kept our deposit saying things were broken or our dogs peed up the place. We had to clean the frig when we got there making me think someone did not check between renters and we were accused of someone else mess. Very discouraged and will never stay there again. No dishwasher either.
If you’re looking for a place where you can find peace and quiet, this is definitely the right place for you. The cabin is in GREAT shape, it’s really charming and cozy at the same time. The house is equipped with everything you need, there is a fire pit and a bbq outside. I personally loved the deck facing the mountains, there is fireplace inside the house and a heater in most of the rooms, there is also a washer and drier. There is WIFI, which you will definitely need since there is no reception in these mountains. Pam and Patrick (owners) always replied within minutes everytime I had a question. We will be back. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT
Hummingbird Hideaway was a comfortable and well-appointed cabin. Three generations enjoyed beautiful surroundings celebrating Thanksgiving and closing out each day around the fire pit.
Cabin was very nice and convenient. Had everything we needed for an enjoyable weekend. Downstairs bed was very comfy and loved the gas logs in the den. Enjoyed sitting by the fire pit and making s’mores! Also enjoyed fishing in the nearby pond even though we didn’t catch anything. Would highly recommend this cabin.
Lovely place and convenient.
Beautiful cabin in a beautiful location. We had a great time!
A wonderful place in a great location. Very quiet and peaceful. Cabin was very clean and well maintained. We brought motorcycles on 2 trailers and had to park the trailers on the lower driveway, but had no issues. The main driveway to the house is a bit tricky, especially on a motorcycle. It is a gravel driveway with a sharp right turn and a fairly steep hill from the road up to the house, but as long as you're careful you should be ok. Would recommend a pop up canopy if you have motorcycles because there is no covered parking. Would definitely recommend the Hummingbird Hideaway and we hope to go back again very soon!
House had updates that made it clean and comfortable. Most everything we needed was included. Grille was a little small for our group as was fire pit. But we enjoyed both. Was about 15 minutes to boat dock and 10 minutes to bike trails, 20 to Grocery store in Bryson city.. Could not see pond from house with tree growth . Pond was not well kept and would likely not be safe for swimming. Cabin was well managed and we plan to try and return during cooler time of year
The location, amenities and big back porch fulfilled our dreams. The grandchildren had a blast fishing. Every detail in the cabin was well thought out, from the grill, Movies available, firepit, flashlights, supplies, etc....I highly recommend staying at Humminbird Hideaway. I Was having a respite break from caring for my Mom and this was exactly what the Doctor ordered!
We loved our stay. Super clean. Very nice upgraded home with great views. We'll be back to this charming region of NC.
Hummingbird Cabin was a great location for our family vacation aimed at being near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The cabin is lovely, clean and very well stocked. It has a nice combination of rustic charm and modern cleanliness. The bathrooms were particularly lovely and seemed newly redone. I brought along a few kitchen items most of our past VRBOs didn't have and they were all already there. We did a lot of water activities (river tubing, whitewater rafting, diving off a rented pontoon and swimming in the pond) , so it was really helpful to wash our wet, dirty towels in the washer and dryer at the end of the day. The small pond up the road was great fun for all of us to swim in. Our boys (ages 9 and 10) loved jumping off the dock and swimming. My husband tried a bit of fishing. And even our dog went swimming in the pond. We ate all our meals outside on the nice deck. There are a few homes nearby, but we rarely encountered anyone while walking the dog or swimming in the pond. It is about a 25 minute drive into Bryson City, 30 minutes to tubing in Deep Creek, 35 minutes to Cherokee and 40 minutes to the closest Visitors Center in the National Park (Oconaluftee). We would gladly return.
The Hummingbird Hideaway was perfect for our family of five for a short trip in late July. The house is very comfortable with lots of room inside and outside. The location is close to the Nantahala Outdoor Center which has lots of family activities and Bryson City which is an up and coming tourist destination. The driveway up to the house is a little tricky as you have to make a sharp right turn in a narrow area although you can drive past the driveway, turn around and drive straight up. There's a cool little lake within walking distance of the house which is part of the Tobacco Road development where we went fishing a couple of times.
We loved our stay at the Hummingbird Hideaway! We arrived and found the home to be clean, well stocked with towels and furnishings, and had all the kitchen features we needed. While there is not central air, the window units in the 2 bedrooms and kitchen were sufficient to help with the summer heat. The community is wonderful! Quiet and peaceful in the mornings and evenings for dinners and coffee on the deck - which boasts a great view of the mountains. We found local activities such as a rope swing in Fontana lake, tubing in the Cherokee nation area, horseback riding and waterfall exploring. Each night, coming back to the Hummingbird to cook our own meals and spend time together as a family. This was a wonderful stay! If we vacation in NC again, we'll definitely consider coming back to the Hummingbird!
The cabin was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay! Easy check in and check out! I would definitely recommend Hummingbird Hideaway!
Hummingbird Hideaway is such a beautiful cabin! Location is a dream. Cabin was cozy and comfortable. Very toddler friendly as most decorative items are out of reach. We loved staying here and spent most our time around the fire pit. Hope to visit again soon! :)
Very nice, secluded cabin in a lovely area.
Lovely place just off the highway. Quite and beautiful.
We were there for a wedding in the valley. The home was close and easy access.
Fantastic location. Close to hiking, mountain biking and other activities. House was clean and had the necessary supplies. Nice view of the neighborhood valley off the top deck. The neighborhood was very nice as well. Would recommend.
Amazing cabin! Very comfortable and clean! Will definitely be back.
Cozy and very comfortable spot. This was our first VRBO stay. We probably should have called about a few minor concerns = no dish towels. But the whole stay was great, as promised.
Great location in the mountains with still being only 15 minutes away from Bryson City and the Polar Express. The place was very clean and we would definitely stay here again
We loved it!!
Short drive from everything. Absolutely beautiful and peaceful atmosphere. We definitely be back.
Although it was a quick weekend, we absolutely loved our time at the Hummingbird Hideaway! Patrick, Pam and Marge were extremely helpful, and the cabin was quiet, clean, and so cozy. Thank you so much for such a great retreat!
We had a great stay! The house was clean and cozy. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend the weekend!
Thanks so much for sharing your cabin. It was in close proximity to all the things we had planned to do- Tsali biking trails, Bryson City, and hiking. Nicely furnished and stocked with everyday items you may need for cooking. My little one loved that there were flashlights everywhere, which was very helpful at night time walking of the dogs. Also, LOVED that there was a kennel provided for us to put the dogs up while we were away so it eased the mind of them causing any issues. Really loved the location, made it a very nice get away from hustle of everyday! You guys have put a lot of charm into this cabin.
Our stay at the Hummingbird Hidaway was absolutely lovely. Everything you could want in a stay in the mountains. Comfy and cozy, a great place to back to after a day exploring the mountains. Loved hanging on the great deck with a cup of coffee! Pam, Patrick and Marge were very helpful and accommodating. Never intrusive but always available if needed. Would definitely stay again!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Very nice cabin, nice an peaceful
The best HURRICANE escape ever!! We had to flee from Florida to avoid Irma. The care and compassion given to us was immeasurable. There were 8 of us and it accommodated us well. Marge even made us the yummiest muffins (gluten free, no less!) Everything was clean and tidy. The beds and sheets were soooo comfy :) (We always travel with our own pillows and blankets) The pictures really don't do it justice. The attention to detail is really sweet. The pond is just across the road and my boys fished for 3 days! The hiking is amazing. You gotta do the 'Gazebo hike'. STAY ON THE PAVED ROAD!! It was hard but well worth the view at the top. Bring water. I highly recommend Pascualino's. It's the best Italian food in the west :)
The property is exactly as described. It is clean, nicely furnished. Contact with the owners was always prompt and helpful. In addition to what is described there is a lower deck that is out of the sun. There are many items in the kitchen, likely left by prior tenants. Take your own bath soap and shampoo. Highly recommended, especially for a quiet getaway.
This place is a hidden gem! My wife and kids stayed at this place. The house is great, very clean and full of useful information on the dining table. Great place to go hiking and not too far from fishing and white water rafting spots. We would definitely stay there again.
We really enjoyed our stay and especially the neighborhood. Everyone is super nice there . The children would often go and play at the pond where they used the paddle boat or they played in the field in the evening trying to catch the most fireflies. We brought bikes and paddle boards and we used them every day in the area. Thank you cabin , we hope to be back soon !❤️❤️
Loved the house over the weekend.., very, very close to the Tsali trails. The house was the perfect size for 6 people. Would love to come back this Fall!
My husband and I spent a weekend here with our dog, and wish we could've stayed longer... We would love to come back again in the future! The hosts were very communicative and responsive for booking, arrival, etc. You can tell they care about this property and the experience of their guests. Even if you're not bringing pets, have no worries--this cabin is impeccably clean and maintained, and very cute. The Nantahala National Forest has beautiful trails nearby to take advantage of, but we were also quite content enjoying the beautiful surroundings from their deck/porch... If you plan on cooking, bring your own salt/pepper, spices, oil, etc. Otherwise, as for cooking utensils, the only thing we were missing was a cutting board! Check out was 10:00 on Sunday morning, which did limit us a little bit in taking full advantage of the last hours of our weekend getaway. We didn't ask to extend the check out time. I believe the owners would have been as accommodating as possible to any requests. And again, we appreciated how spotless the cabin was when we arrived so wanted to honor any time needed to clean for the next guests! Hope to be back!! Thank you for having us, and providing a much needed peaceful retreat...
Had a great time.
My husband and our teen kids stayed for a week for summer vacation. This house was perfect! Great location close to all activities we wanted to do-fishing ,boating, and paddleboarding on FontanaLake, biking Tsali, and shopping in Bryson City. Also very convenient to Nantahala outdoor center for zip lining and rafting. Overall a great stay!
We had a great time visiting the Great Smoky Montans. And all the areas around the cabin. We love it. Thank you very much.
Our unexpected vacation due to Hurricane Matthew turned out to be a wonderful experience. The cabin was adorable and even better than the pictures. We spent most of the time hanging out in the cabin and exploring the valley. Great fishing pond and trails to hike on every morning. We did venture into Bryson City one day to get food and had lunch at Cork and Bean (highly recommend). We will return when we have more time. Thanks for your help with our last minute retreat to the mountains, everything turned out great (both at the cabin and back home).
Highly recommend this cabin! It was clean and very nice. We have no complaints about our stay. We will be renting this cabin again. 15 mins from the NOC.
The cabin/cottage had everything we looked for in renting a place that served as a (base camp), to enjoy all the area has to offer in outdoor activities. The home was clean and updated, awesome decks, privacy, and easily accessible. We hope to return soon! Sincerely, The Worleys
Perfect for the family...plenty of room for everyone idoors and out. The cabin was clean and the kitchen was well-equipped for nightly cookng. Dishwasher and hot tub would be a nice addition. Otherwise a lovely getaway! We will definitely stay here again!
We had an amazing experience in the cabin! There was plenty of space for everyone to be comfortable. Meals out on the deck were so peaceful and relaxing. The kids loved fishing and swimming out on the lake on the property. We really enjoyed making the short drive to Bryson City to go to Deep Creek for tubing. Special memories were definitely made this past week. ☺
The house was very cozy and had all the needed amenities. Cooking there was easy if you wanted to stay in. It has great proximity to Tsali if you are going for mountain biking. We would rent from there again.
My family greatly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The kitchen was well stocked, the cabin was clean and well-furnished, and the location was great for mountain biking at Tsali, exploring Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and rafting the Nantahala. Our daughters loved making s'mores at the fire pit. Wifi worked well and the gas fireplace was a nice way to warm up in the morning. We would definitely rent this property again.
Cabin was very clean and nicely furnished. There are tons of great things to do really close by. If you are into mountain biking Tsali is less then 5 min away and awesome! Our kids 9/5/5 really enjoyed the cabin and playing outside. Fast WiFi in the house which was good because we had poor cell service (AT&T). We would rent this place again. Transaction was very easy.
We visited Bryson City to take a ride on The Polar Express and decided to make a small mountain vacation out of it. So glad we booked this cabin as it was the perfect location - just about 20 minutes from downtown Bryson City and perfect for 2 small families! It rained while we were here so we didn't get to explore the surroundings, but the nearby pond looked like it would be the perfect spot to explore during the Spring and Summer! The cabin was decorated lovely, exceptionally clean, and so cozy and warm - wish we could have stayed longer!
We really enjoyed this cabin. Everything was spotless, and the amenities exceeded our expectations. There is a nice gas fireplace, large television with satellite, a fully-stocked kitchen, and a great laundry room. We especially enjoyed the two (yes two) balconies to hang out on. There are three private bedrooms with comfortable room for at least six people. The owners were very nice and helpful when checking and leaving. We will stay here again if it is available.
Cabin was very clean and ready for us. Although this rental was a tad on the higher spectrum of cleaning fees from other rental options, I can say the money is well spent. Least my wife was impressed, so you know that speaks volumes - good job owners! It is also noteworthy that the cabin has undergone recent renovations, so this means you'll benefit from new faucets, fixtures, etc... Liked the laminate flooring all throughout and interior decor/theme. Everything works - all appliances, water supply, stove, refrigerator, high-tech washer/dry - it all works, thus offering that worry-free vacation we all desire. Internet : it was a deciding factor for us, being on AT&T, we knew cell service was out for us up front, thus it was great to have Internet to FaceTime, and Skype, and iMessage. The Sat-TV was a plus as well. Some other notable things …. I liked the LED flashlights placed throughout the cabin - that's a thoughtful touch. There is a covered lower outdoor deck in case the weather is wet, and and upper outdoor deck for those beautiful days. Area is very quite and a good view. Small fire pit below. The packed gavel driveway grade is average for these parts, and it's just off a fully paved road and not bad to drive up/down - no 4x4 needed, a basic car can make it just fine. Yet because there is one hard-right mid-way up, those whom are trailering may not be ideal. Over all very pleased with our stay, and would surely rent this cabin again in the future.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The cabin has been recently updated and it is super nice and stocked with everything we needed for the weekend. The deck has a gorgeous view and we felt so at home there. The owner even baked us a loaf of banana bread which was delicious. We loved the wonderful stacks of books in every room of the cabin. We were a little disappointed in the pond closest to the cabin, but it was a 5 minute drive to Fontana Lake where we enjoyed the water and beautiful views. We also enjoyed spending time at the NOC which is a 10-15 minute drive away.
What a wonderful place to stay. The house was newly remodeled, very clean and beautifully decorated. The house had everything we needed to enjoy our week long vacation there. The community area was an added delight, as it had a BBQ grill, picnic tables, a swimming lake, and plenty of green area to run around and play sports. It was a short drive to get to all the NC attractions and we were able to visit many areas during our stay. I would highly recommend this property and we will definitely be returning.
