This quaint little northwoods spot is the perfect getaway. The cabin is nestled in the quiet woods across the road from Old Settler's Park, which provides access to Big Glen Lake and a small public boat launch perfect for kayaks or canoes. This Burdickville location is within walking distance of two of the regions finest dining establishments, and a corner store/ice cream shop. It is just a short drive to the Sleeping Bear Dunes, Lake Michigan Beaches, the Crystal River, and the many towns in the area.
The cabin has 2 bedrooms, each with a double bed, and a sofa bed which sleeps an additional 2 people. There is a fully equipped kitchen and an outdoor grill. Enjoy a meal out on the deck. The outdoor fire pit is the perfect spot to stay warm as the sun sets behind Alligator Hill.
Kelly said this about the our cabin:
"I don't have the words to tell how great the weekend has been for us. Your place is wonderful - everything thing I think Up North is about. We will definitely will be back. My plan is to move back to MI. Making memories with my kids here has been priceless. - Kelly"
We welcome you 'Up North'!
This cottage was the perfect getaway for my husband and I and our 2 small children. Perfect location across the street from Old Settlers Park for when they wanted to, but also lots of activities on site as well. Cozy, well maintained, easy to find and we will definitely will be returning.
Our family of four had a great stay. Perfect, cozy jumping off point for lots of Sleeping Bear adventures. Thanks so much!
You couldn't ask for a better location regardless of your outdoor interests - hiking, beach walking, cycling, water sports. Everything is right outside your door. Glen Arbor is a ten-minute drive around the lake where you will find everything you need. Only thing missing is a washer and dryer - we ran or hiked everyday during our 12-day stay. The small shower was a bit of a challenge, but plenty of hot water. Kitchen is adequately stocked for home cooking during a pandemic. Great for a single couple or a small family.
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful weekend getaway at this beautiful, cozy cabin. We had all the amenities we needed and were conveniently located near hiking at the Sleeping Bear Dunes and dinner in Glen Arbor and Traverse City. The owners were quick to respond to our questions. Highly recommend!
Glen Arbor is one of my favorite destinations on earth. And now we have a favorite place to stay while visiting. This little gem of a home is nestled in a beautiful setting with the lake near by across the street. The house is immaculate, with a very well stocked kitchen. With the current pandemic, we cooked all our meals in the house and had surprisingly everything needed to do so. I don't get to Glen Arbor as often as would like, but when I do, I will definitely call Heidi.
Very restful, cozy, warm, CLEAN & NEAT, Vintage images, love the stove, plenty of kitchen ware, & LOVED MEETING JOAKIM!!! Only thing we missed was meeting you Heidi!!🏡🎉🎉
We loved staying in this cozy cottage and our kids had a ton of fun exploring outside. The location couldn’t be beat.
This was a great place - a walk away from Glen Lake and easy ride to the beauties around the area. I’ve never been to the Sleeping Bear Dunes or upper Michigan and it was delightful. The cabin was sweet, clean and welcoming. Heidi was really responsive to my inquiries. Thank you!
Perfect location for visiting the local attractions!
we enjoyed the stay very much. A charming little house. We felt very comfortable. The area is very beautiful, you can make many nice trips. A nice French restaurant around the corner, and a great horse farm :) Heidi always answered quickly, we warmly recommend this accommodation
We really enjoyed our stay at the Cabin outside Maple City. The owner, Heidi, was excellent at communicating and made it very easy to check in. The property and the house itself was very clean. The beds were very comfortable, and it was just enough space for my three year old, husband, and me. The location was perfect for our day hikes in Sleeping Bear and the beach during the day and we enjoyed coming back to the house and having a fire at night. It had everything we needed for a great getaway.
We loved our stay!! Great location close to what we wanted to explore. Cabin had everything you would need. Can't wait until our next stay.
I have been coming up to Glen Lake for 40+ years. We had a great stay at this cottage. It was clean and exactly what we expected. It is a great location right across from a park With access to the water. We will definitely stay here again.
Very quaint two bedroom cabin, looking across the road to a park and lake. Perfect for a little get away. Cabin was clean, front deck was perfect amount on sun and shade. We had a great experience.
We enjoyed our stay in Glen Arbor. Cabin was perfect place as a home base while exploring the area. Heidi was quick to respond and offered great suggestions. Look forward to a return trip
It's a great location, a little over 5 miles from Glen Arbor and thus close to Sleeping Bear Dunes and all the things in Leelanau. It's across the street from Old Settlers Park, so you do get a partial lake view, and the park is very nice, too. Our week up north was different than usual because of Covid (we didn't eat out or shop or go into Traverse City at all), so it was good to have a nice place to hang out on the patio or by the fire pit. It's kind of rustic and small, with a knotty pine main room, a good and well-supplied but tiny kitchen, comfy but older furniture, etc. But that's the charm of it: it's an old-fashioned cottage up north, with the addition of rock-solid wifi and pretty comfy beds. We're planning on booking the place for 2021. Thanks, Heidi!
Perfect little place to stay overnight while visiting the Lake Michigan area. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We were very impressed with the tidiness! Check-in was a breeze and Heidi was fantastic- very responsive. My family was very happy with the whole experience. Thanks for having us!
Such a perfect spot to sneak away - especially with young kids! Loved th outdoor space, so close to the park (great playground and dock right into shallow water, perfect for our 5 and 2 year old), loved having access to a full kitchen with all the supplies we needed. Wish we could have stayed more than one night! Such a great property with great hosts!
Cute cabin. Love the area.
This is a perfect little cabin for the area. It is surrounded by woods yet you can see a bit of the lake from the porch. It is a very quick walk across to Settlers Park with amazing views of the Lake. You will enjoy your stay. Heidi is wonderful. She called when she found we left something behind and we were able to retrieve it. We would love to return.
We loved the location. In addition to being right across from public access to Big Glen, which offers great shallow swimming, the yard at the cabin provided a perfect place for my kids and I to socially distance and visit outdoors with our family who live in the area. It’s a nice private setting but close to everything. The kitchen was stocked with pots and pans, real wine glasses and even things like olive oil and spices. A very cute, clean 1950s cabin.
Cabin was neat, clean and comfortable. Lake is just a walk across the street for a brisk swim or to view those Big Glen sunset views. We will look to stay longer next visit. Loved hiking in several areas of SBD.
The cottage is in a great location and it had most everything we needed for our stay up north.
This little cabin is tucked back from the road, but with a great view of the lake. The house was clean and cozy. I really enjoyed our stay here and would visit again!
Had a great time
Great location, very cozy & clean. Beautiful lake view. Furniture needs updating as the arm chair in living room had holes, & the beds are uncomfortable. We lost power in bedrooms when we plugged in the provided heaters, power company came out & it made for a 1am bedtime after it was all done. Managers tried to be helpful, but they were out of town. My husband ended up fixing the breaker. Perhaps an offered discount for our troubles would have been appropriate.
The cabin was very clean and well equipped. The Gas stove kept us nice and warm. The only thing we couldn't figure was the TV. And how to get real time local news. All in all it was a good experience.
Fourth year of staying at this property with family to celebrate anniversary. Once again, good experience.
We booked this trip for a wine weekend and to tour the Leelanau Penninsula. Great location to Glen Arbor, Leland, and Sutton’s Bay. Cozy little cabin, beds were comfy, and was the perfect amount of space for 4 people. My only suggestion would be to have more bathroom linens but other than that, everything was great! Heidi is so easy to work with and she was so quick to respond and kept in touch with us throughout the week. Great VRBO owner!!
Great old fashioned cottage experience with camp fires, books, puzzles (and Tv!) Clean linens and towels. Great communication with owners.
The cottage is very close to a park and a lake, perfect for kids. The lake is shallow enough that parents can relax too. We did have a minor plumbing problem but the owner was super responsive- someone was there within an hour. Would definitely book again
This was our second summer. We hope to come back next year. So much Glen Lake charm!
Loved the location. Across the road from Glen Lake. Short walk to watch sunset on the lake. 3miles and you’re in Glen Arbor. Nice restaurants ( Arts Tavern was my favorite). Within a few miles of Sleeping Bear Dunes. Lots of places to bike and kayak
The cabin is located in a beautiful area and is a cozy little cabin that needs some TLC. Everyone's idea of clean and well kept is different so we had better in our minds due to the reviews. Especially for the price per night. Outside the picnic table is in bad shape. We did love the firepit although our stay was rainy so we only got to use it once. There is firewood provided which was nice but would have been nice to have had a stack of it by the firepit instead of having to wheel barrel it over. We had to sweep and clean up the front deck as it needed it...the unkept part. We cleaned the outside table and chairs. Inside, the shower is extremely small. My husband is not a big man and it was difficult for him to shower in it. The mattresses were not real comfortable and the sheets need updates. They were clean but a bit scratchy. The kitchen cupboards, sink, appliances, pans etc all need a good cleaning. Cabin in general needs a good cleaning. The information book needs updated as far as where to leave garbage etc... Again, the area is quiet and beautiful but we were disappointed in the property in general.
Very clean, perfect for two couples. Plenty of pots and pans for preparing meals. We enjoyed a very snowy New Year’s eve. The snow plow for the driveway made it easy to get going when it was time to leave.
Great location, nestled in trees, steps away from the lovely park and lakeshore.
We usually stay in Traverse City and end up driving over to Lakeshore so we decided to stay in Glen Arbor this time. Cabin was perfect location and very accommodating for us.
Everything we needed. Nice to have sheets and towels provided. Firewood was a bonus. Concert across the street! Unbelievable!
Very nice. Great views and setting. Loved the fire pit. Great to have a/c.
Such a peaceful open setting. Inside is very clean, fresh and comfortable. Heidi Is so kind and accessible. We grew very attached to this sweet cottage in our two week stay, and hope to book next summer, once we know our weeks.
Loved every minute! Very close to all of the attractions. Clean cabin and has all you need! Would stay again, no question!
We decided to rent this cottage/small vacation house, because of the remote place and we called it a Haven in the woods. Every single morning we had our breakfast outside, we were surrounded by the hundreds of birds making it look like a paradise. You can not compare this feeling to anything ! Very friendly owners, very good location, very nice surroundings, amazing sunsets - we had a blast ! Thank You, Heidi and Joakim !!!!!
Well my attempt to do some early Spring hiking turned into a winter wonderland. But I couldn't have found a cozier place to watch the storm. The cottage was charming, clean, well equipped, and the gas stove delightful. More importantly Heidi was on top of things, making sure I was kept abreast of the situation and finding help to get my car out of the drifts. Thanks for a relaxing if unexpected holiday.
We greatly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful cabin. We have used this lovely abode 3 times now and that says a lot . 5 plus stars for clean . The owners are fantastic people. Thank you so much for all your hospitality! Lynn ,Bob and family !
What a great little cabin in the woods. It slept 5 of us comfortably. The view was spectacular. They even left the lights on for us to find our way in the complete dark! It's clean, warm and inviting. We stayed for a girls weekend and loved hanging out in the living room laughing and enjoying the wood stove/fireplace. It was 100% better than a hotel room where you could only sit on a bed to hangout. I particularly liked the fans in the bedrooms to have some white-noise for sleeping. I would love to come back and stay longer with the family and explore the Traverse City/Glen Arbor area.
Stayed over the weekend because my daughter participated in the annual Sleeping Bear marathon. I love this cute cabin in the woods. Very relaxing surroundings and clean . It rained all weekend, so was not able to use the fire pit, but i'm sure if we had, would be a satisfying experience for everyone. Good communication with owners. This adorable cabin in the woods comes highly recommended:)
The cottage is in a great location. It was very clean...and the sunsets!!!!!! I would rent this property again!
The cabin was perfect, it had everything we needed. Perfect location!
Very nice cabin that had everything you needed. The owners are wonderful to work with . The cleanliness was a huge 5 star rating! Was perfect for our weekend stay. Great place to stay!! Thank you ! The only problem we encountered was the Roku TV , which was unable to give just the regular channels . Thank you again for letting us stay and for your hospitality!
We loved our time in the Glen Arbor/Traverse City area. The cabin served a great home base to go out from and experience the area.
Had a beautiful weekend in one of the most spectacular parts of our country. Cabin was a perfect location to take it all in! I have already recommended this cabin to friends and family!!
The cabin was exactly what we were expecting and hoped for. It was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the deck for meals and relaxing in the hammock! It was the perfect get-away!
Property was located across the street from only public access to Glen Lake which was perfect. We bike and again the property was logistically at a point that allowed us to take routes more or less challenging. Very quiet and peaceful. Upon arrival the property was in order and had the basic ammentities needed, however there were only two small fans that we needed to move everyday and evening for our comfort. Also the second day we noticed our feet and ankles had bite marks that we contributed to mosquitoes and the swimmers itch they warned us about. Unfortunately paying more attention lead us to determine there were flees in the carpet and especially in the bedroom we had chosen to sleep in. Not having any pets or experience with flees in our life we notified the owners and they responded promptly but our stay revolved around researching flees and what to do to treat the situation. Still healing from the numerous bites.
We thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful privacy of this cabin. We enjoyed our breakfast on the porch looking at the lake each morning. It is a great location to enjoy Glen Lake, Glen Arbor, the dunes, Traverse City and all the quaint surrounding towns like Suttons Bay and Northport. But at the end of the day it's nice to walk across the street, sit on the dock and watch the sunset.
Perfect for a quick biking tour of the area. Very beautiful spot on Glen Lake. Cottage was clean and homey. Beds were comfortable and clean bedding- wish one bed had been a queen size. No A/C but didn't really need it as cottage is in the woods. We weren't there long enough to use the kitchen.
We loved the clean, cozy cabin. The location was great to access several different bodies of water and sites. It was nice to eat in but there were great eat out options perfect for different tastes and price ranges. We will definitely be back - it is perfect Up North Living!
This cabin was the perfect location for our summer vacation at the lake. It was clean, comfortable and just the right size for four people. We enjoyed being close to all the Glen Arbor/Sleeping Bear Dunes attractions. The access to the park/lake was just a short walk across the street and we enjoyed our meals outside on the deck. Heidi and Joakim were very quick to respond to messages. We could have used a few more towels and some instructions (for non tech savvy folks) on how to access the TV channels. Overall, we had a wonderful week - thank you for sharing your cabin with us.
Great little cabin with everything you need. Loved having such close access to a lake (just across the street). Within a short drive to Sleeping Bear Dunes and wineries as well.
We had a great time! Can't wait to come back!! Truly Gods Country up there! Thx again Heidi!!!
My wife and I recently stayed at the cabin. It is directly across from a nice park that is excellent for watching the sunsets. The owners were going to meet us for a key exchange but we were going to be later than expected, so they contacted us with info. on getting into the cabin and their contact numbers. The cabin is set away from the road enough that traffic noise is no issue, even sleeping with the windows open. It's a nice older cabin, very clean. We enjoyed the Amazon channels at nite, after a nice bonfire. I believe it's only a few miles around the lake to Glen Arbor. We day tripped from there for a couple of days. We enjoyed it very much for the solitude. My only small complaint would be that the beds are double beds. I am only 6'1'' and my feet were about off the bottom of the bed. A queen would have been nice. It would have been a little tighter in the bedroom, but we only used the bedroom for sleeping and changing clothes, so it would have been welcomed. Again, a small complaint, but when you are vacationing, you want to be at least as comfortable as you are at home. We would fully recommend this property. It's exactly what we were looking for. Thanks again Heidi and Joakim
We enjoyed our stay and found everything to be clean and efficient, no problems whatsoever. Joakim and Heidi have a nice little cabin and met our expectations completely. The location is somewhat more distant from Glen Arbor than we had anticipated initially, but it was quiet and in a beautiful setting near a park and the lake.
Had an awesome time! The place is beautiful and the area is great. We had a great time and would love to come back!
We loved staying in this cozy cottage so much that one of us re-booked it for the following week. The owners were friendly, helpful, and attentive and the home is completely clean and equipped with everything you'll need. You can't beat the location --right across the street from Settler's Park and Glen Lake. And it's a short drive away from Spectacular Sleeping Bear Dunes. We will be back for sure!
This cottage was a wonderful place to stay. The location is great because it is easyto get to all of the areas lakes, hiking and restaurants. It is far enough away from Traverse City to feel like you are away from the city but close enough to go for an afternoon. The cottage is very private but is right across the street from a park and shallow lake access. There are two restaurants and an ice cream shop in walking distance. Overall a very clean, cozy, welcoming place to stay!
The listing description was spot on. The cabin was exactly as depicted by the photos. The property was clean and well maintained. The gas fireplace was great for taking the chill out of the cabin. The owner went above and beyond. They answered all of our questions and provided us with great restaurant recommendations . The Heritage Sleeping Bear Trail was fantastic for a long bike ride. The cabin is right across the street from a great park located on Glen Lake. Short drive to the town of Glen Arbor with great shopping and restaurants . The owners recommended Le Becasse a French Resturant located within walking distance of the cabin. The dinner was Superb . We would highly recommend this property.
My husband and I have traveled to Sleeping Bear Dunes for a fall vacation for many years. This was our first stay at this cottage. We found this to be the best we have stayed in so far. It is clean, spacious and includes everything one could need. The sheets and towels that were provided were fresh and clean smelling. The cabin itself was spotless. The furnishings were very nice, like a real home and not just a bunch of stuff thrown together. We were there in September and the Vermont Castings gas stove was a wonderful, cozy addition. The cottage is close to all the hiking and kayaking we wanted to do. It is also close to Glen Arbor and Empire and not far from Leland. All in all, I cannot think of a single negative thing to say about the cottage. It is a gem. Mary
The cottage was cute and cozy. Located very close to Glen Arbor and all the attractions we like to visit. Sara Jane, the property manager, was super helpful when my husband left behind his cane. She made a special trip to the cabin to retrieve it for us.
Wow, wow, wow!! This is a fantastic cabin. The location was wonderful. Just steps away from Settler's park and the dock on Glen Lake. My wife and I had a few days off and decided to check out Sleeping Bear Dunes. The cabin was exactly what we were looking for. Quiet, secluded, clean, and cozy. Settler's park has picnic tables, swings, merry-go-round etc. Our grand-kids came up for one day and had a great time there. Looking forward to a return visit, as the area has plenty of areas to discover and activities to enjoy.
I was 100% pleased with this Cabin. It was clean, perfectly located and absolutely beautiful. The book of activities and places to go was very beneficial.
We rented this cabin for the weekend (in town for the Sleeping Bear Marathon). This is a lovely property. Very nice, wooded lot. Very close to Old Settler's Park and the lake. The cabin is clean and comfortable. The beds had nice linens and a warm comforter for the crisp fall weather. The owner and property manager were both easy to communicate with before and during the stay. I would not hesitate to rent this cabin again upon a return visit to the area.
My daughter and I were very pleasantly surprised by the accomodations. It was very clean, well-equipped and made for a very relaxing and comfortable stay. We had breakfast every morning on the front patio, as the sun rose over the surrounding woods. A short walk across the road is a park with dock and lake access. We lacked for nothing.
We had a wonderful stay in this cabin! It is very clean and well appointed. The location is convenient to the beautiful Lake Michigan beaches and downtown Glen Arbor. The playground across the street is fun for young children. The owners are responsive, and we already booked our second stay here!
This is a nice cottage right across the street from a park along Big Glen lake. We stayed for 3 nights. The house was clean and quiet. We enjoyed dining on the deck. The owner was very responsive and refund was prompt. It would have been even nicer if the bedrooms had queen beds, but we enjoyed our stay and I highly recommend it.
