HOME DESCRIPTION
This is a little gem of a cabin. Built in 1928, it was one of the first cabins on the street, and they built it in the perfect spot to see all of the forest valleys below and all the way out to the Apple Valley.
When you walk in, you're greeted by maybe the best part of the cabin - the kitchen. For a cozy one-bedroom cabin, they built a good-sized kitchen! We've added some lighting and decorative touches, but it was a stunning space to begin with. Before sunset, the light filters in through the trees into the kitchen, and it fills the room with a beautiful, warm glow.
From there, you enter the living room with a lodge-style vaulted ceiling, log beams, and a wood-burning stove fireplace built with the granite right from the property.
Adjacent to the living room is the bedroom with a queen bed, princess canopy, and a huge walk-in closet for such a little place! It's empty, but you won't run out of space if you wish to use the drawers and shelves.
The bathroom features an oversized tub and original building elements like the vintage, hand-painted sink and pine vanity.
And finally, the deck is probably where you'll want to spend some time relaxing. It's amazing how you can park your car just steps away from the front door, then take about 20 steps to the back deck, and all of a sudden, you're in the forest with miles and miles of views! It's why they chose this parcel. It's the perfect spot to view the sunrise over the Apple Valley with your morning coffee, or unwind in the shade of the big oak tree with your favorite drink in hand.
In case you've never heard of Twin Peaks, it's one of Lake Arrowhead's six neighborhoods - we're about 900 feet higher than the lake, so there's a lot more forest and a bit less people! But we're still close to everything - the village is just 4 miles away (10 minutes) and Jensen's Market is just a short drive away.
HOME AMENITIES
The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, oven, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle, dishes, glassware and cookware. The full bath has an extra large bathtub, towels, shampoo and blow dryer.

All of it! You have access to the full house. The cabin is setup to be your home away from home.

Additional note to guests:
Q: DO WE ALLOW EARLY CHECK-INS
A: Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate early check-ins -- as it will not allow our housekeeper enough time to fully prepare the home for you.
Q: CAN I GET A LATE CHECK-OUT
A: Unfortunately, we cannot grant late check-outs. Our housekeeper is on a tight schedule to clean multiple homes, and we cannot accommodate a late check-out request. Thank you for your understanding.
Q: WHAT TYPE OF WEATHER SHOULD I EXPECT ON MY TRIP
A: PLEASE COME ADEQUATELY PREPARED!!! Be sure to check the local forecast for weather conditions. In the fall & winter months expect fog, rain, sleet and snow. Roads can be very icy, and the owners cannot be responsible for weather or driving conditions.
Q: DO I NEED TIRE CHAINS ON MY VEHICLE
A: During the SNOW season it is wise to carry snow chains. CHP requires possession of chains/cables when traveling mountain roads in icy conditions. Chains can be purchased at the base of the mountain near Highland Avenue & Hwy 330 at the Super Walmart. *Be sure to get the right size for your tires.
Q: WILL I HAVE TO SHOVEL SNOW
A: YES! Our neighborhood road is plowed by the county - but our parking, entry and deck are not. *Guests are responsible for removing snow should it snow during their stay.
**
In snowy conditions, CHAINS MAY BE REQUIRED for access up the mountain and for driving on mountain roads. Be sure to check weather and road conditions by contacting CalTrans, the National Weather Service, etc.
* We do not extend refunds due to weather conditions, road closures, driver's abilities or vehicle limitations.
* Mountain weather requires shoveling snow.
* Guests will be responsible for shoveling steps, the deck, a place to park and shoveling a path to and from the cabin.
* Snow shovels are located on the cabin deck -- shoe/boot chains are highly recommended when conditions are snowy and icy.
** BE SURE TO COME ADEQUATELY PREPARED**
Q: IS THE PROPERTY ISOLATED
A: The Property is located in a mountain community and is surrounded by neighboring cabins. The community itself is surrounded by forest.
**To reduce risk of wildfire during severe wind conditions, Southern California Edison reserves the right to temporarily cut electrical service to its customers, and we have no control over that. Our guests understand that there will be no refunds for power outages, and that they'll happily accept the unlikely inconvenience for the sake of preserving our forests!
**NOISE DISTURBANCES - Please be respectful of all neighbors. Noise travels easily in the mountains & we ask that our guests be respectful of the full-time residents that live nearby. Your reservation is for a quiet, relaxing & enjoyable stay!
**MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY - Please note the cabin sleeps a maximum of 2 people and we cannot accommodate extra guests. Please specify the correct number of guests when requesting/booking a reservation. This cabin is strictly for the specified number of guests on the reservation booking and maximum occupancy is strictly enforced.
Q: CAN I INVITE MORE PEOPLE THAN THE MAXIMUM ALLOWED LISTED
A: Maximum occupancy does not only refer to the number a home can sleep, this is also the number of people allowed in the home at any given time. It is determined by the licensing authority based on the number of exits in the home and fire safety codes.
**San Bernardino County has codes that are strictly enforced. Be sure to abide by the maximum occupancy number for the home at ALL times.
**IF YOU DO NOT ABIDE BY THESE CODE ENFORCEMENT POLICIES:
- Your reservation will be immediately cancelled.

Awesome great place good temp. Friendly staff pleasant place
Beautiful cabin snuggled into the hills around one of the most beautiful locations in California. Many amenities and endless views and things to do. Will gladly return!
From the time we first arrived to the time we locked the door to leave, we had a wonderful time. The place is perfect for one or two people to get away from the city. The outdoor deck was perfect for morning coffee and breakfast - also great for just sitting and listening to the wildlife. Owners were a huge help with suggestions of where to go, eat & site see. My wife and I can’t wait to go back.
Recommend this location for couples needing to focus on each other. So quiet and peaceful! Felt very comfortable and cozy. Will definitely go back.
This was the perfect getaway to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. Clean, peaceful, and just the perfect escape. Can’t wait to to back!
I chose this cabin for a solo getaway to recharge and refresh. I spent most of my time out on the deck that is nestled amid tall pine trees with a view of the mountain in the distance. I can’t imagine a more perfect setting to unwind and just be. On the deck, I did yoga, sipped my morning coffee while reading, journaled and just soaked in the beauty surrounding me from my little piece of heaven on earth. If you’re looking for a solo or duo getaway, look no further than David and Patricia’s lovely, thoughtfully appointed cabin in the woods.
Property was very clean and inviting. The owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome with lots of little extras, and info for how to make the most of our stay. Had a great relaxing time!
Enjoyable relaxing weekend getaway in this nice clean quiet cabin amongst the beautiful nature. Great location to many activities, restaurants and nearby towns. Excellent communication with the hosts, loved their recommendations for activities and restaurants. Easy check in/check out. Will recommend to family/friends. We look forward to another visit. Thank you David and Patricia. Jackie A.
Such a welcoming, joyful ambiance in this cozy cabin with a tree-filled deck view that instantly relaxes and renews the mind, body and spirit. Lots of attention to details. Clean. Loved the open kitchen and dining area. Location is ideal--walked the neighborhood and up to Strawberry Peak Lookout Tower. Quiet. Private. THE BEST! Gold stars to hosts, David and Patricia.
The cabin is an adorable little place that is well-kept and feels truly loved. The decor is charming and the kitchen has all the equipment you will need to make a romantic dinner for two. The deep bathtub is perfect for a relaxing soak before cuddling up by the fireplace.
I am newly single after 3 decades of marriage and was looking for a place to get away from all the distractions and stress of life to do some soul searching and recharge. This property was sooo perfect for that! Communication with the owners was superb; very timely with amazing attention to detail - quickly, thoughtfully and thoroughly answered any questions I had + provided lots of tips for making my stay truly enjoyable (my favorite tip was to bring Duraflame logs for easy & perfect fires). While most of the visitors are lovebirds looking to connect with each other, I also highly recommend it for those looking for a place to fly solo and love on themselves. The property was very easy to find and was so comfortable, clean and cozy. It is in a great location with easy parking and quick access to a market, movie theater and Lake Arrowhead. I stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed staying in to read, cook, meditate, sleep, soak in the tub etc. When I felt like venturing out to enjoy the beautiful, snowy area, I popped down to Jensen’s market to get baked goods for breakfast, took advantage of the provided parking pass to go hiking, and hit Arrowhead village for shopping and a visit to the Taproom & Kitchen (sat at the bar with a stunning view of the lake and the friendly bartenders chatted with me as I enjoyed a beer and a bite while using their WiFi to watch my sons streaming college volleyball game…go Ducks!). The view from the back deck is beautiful and I can’t wait to go back after the snow melts to enjoy enjoy it for longer periods of time. This is truly the perfect mountain getaway for two lovebirds or a solo souls searcher! I plan to make at least a few trips a year to this adorable cabin….to spend quality time with myself and to connect with my lovebird…..when I’m blessed to have another one fly into my life! Many thanks to my gracious hosts for sharing this perfect spot with me when I needed it most.
