The Hidden Haven makes for a wonderful retreat!
The KITCHEN underwent a complete remodel in the summer of 2016. Owned by someone who loves to cook, you will find it is fully stocked with everything you need to make and serve a delicious meal. The kitchen is open to the living and dining areas so you will never feel like you’re stuck cooking while everyone else is having fun. The breakfast bar seats two.
The DINING area is set for four, but (with advance notice) can accommodate your dinner guests with an extension that allows seating for eight. Placemats and tablecloths are available for your use and there are plenty of dishes, silverware, wine glasses, and candles to set a gorgeous table.
The LIVING ROOM has plenty of seating, warm lighting, and fuzzy throws. It’s a great place to gather. The wood stove keeps it cozy even on the coldest of days. Firewood is available for your use. Please note: there is no TV, but there are games, books, etc. to keep you entertained (and Wi-Fi too just in case!)
The BOOK NOOK is a quiet and cozy spot for the avid reader in your family. Tucked under the stairs, it’s the latest addition to our home and was inspired by the desire to get our avid reader to hang out in the same room as the rest of us once in a while.
The MASTER BEDROOM is in the loft and while open to the living room, it provides an adequate amount of privacy due to the structural design. It has a Queen-sized bed with good linens that will provide a super night of rest. Drawer storage and space to hang your clothes is abundant. The loft is served by it’s own small, but mighty bathroom.
The DOWNSTAIRS BEDROOM contains Twin L-shaped bunk-inspired beds with good linens and sleeps two very comfortably. Beach towels, extra duvets, games, and room for your things can be found in the large closet. Down the same hallway, you will find the larger bathroom. It contains a stackable washer and dryer.
The DECK is a great place to hang out when the sun is shining. It’s the perfect spot to relax while you enjoy your morning tea. The patio table can seat up to eight when the weather is right for a meal outdoors. Deer frequent the yard and it feels as though you are far from the rest of the world because the yard is enclosed by trees. Blackberries can be found all along the far side of the driveway. They are delicious to be sure, but be aware as they share the area with stinging nettle.
The LOCATION is a 10-15 minute drive from the Clinton Ferry, 15-20 minutes to Downtown Langley (the Whidbey Transit bus stops in front of the house), just 1.5 miles to Maxwelton Beach, and generally no more than 20 minutes to nearly everything South Whidbey has to offer.
We really enjoyed! There were activities, books, games, all in a very private setting. Great hosts! Thanks for having us! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great place to make a little stop on our journey.
The Cabin was amazing, cleaned and had everything needed, plus more. The owners ensured that our time there was one that we will always remember. Thank you!!
Wonderful little A-frame tucked into a quiet neighborhood. Very clean, with easy vintage style. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and enjoy a cozy family get-away. Great location and very helpful hosts!
We had a good time at this location. Perfect for a family of 4. The owners were very responsive and made the process super easy. Even included some great toys and games for the kids (age 3 and 7). I would stay again.
It was the perfect cabin for a warm and cozy getaway. Charming.
From the ease of communication about check-in/check-out to everything in between, this place is great! A perfect spot to relax, but also a springboard to explore all that south Whidbey has to offer. Fully stocked kitchen with everything you would need. We will definitely be recommending to others visiting Whidbey.
Great place to stay for a night away. Was super cool to see 3 deer in the yard in the morning.
Private woodsy feel, cozy and updated bedrooms and living area. The owners were sweet and very communicative. My wife and I would stay again. This is perfect for a family of four of you have kids. The downstairs bedroom is perfect and they have games for entertainment and the surrounding area is perfect for family outings.
What a great way to escape. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on Whidbey Island. Great location, clean, quiet, and super warm with the wood burning stove. We had a wonderful time making memories with our family.
We had a very lovely time at this Hidden Hideout. We were surprised that in person, it was cuter than the photos! There was plenty of room for our family of 4 - and we were super appreciative that our host was very accommodating and communicative. The bathrooms weren't updated like the rest of the place, but it didn't bother us one bit. The kitchen was a great place for breakfast, lunch and dinner during this pandemic. The deck out front was nice and the kids LOVED the big tree out front - a perfect one for climbing and was so huge, it was like a build in fort! We went to the beach and played in the sand everyday. There were tons of toys and books for the kids already there - we did a lot of puzzles and read. We totally unplugged and just had some quiet time. We built a fire every morning. It was the perfect place to get away from the chaos and just chill. I recommend this place for sure!
Quiet and relaxing stay. Easy drive to beach and nearby towns.
Kirstin was a fantastic host. Communication was seamless and we had everything we needed. We will definitely come back!
This property is so quaint! A hidden spot with a great modern Aframe vibe. The owners have the sweetest little details. They were also very communicative. The cabin has all the amenities! We BBQ'd one night. It's very quiet but a tad out of the way from Coupeville if that is what you want. But so close to Useless bay and many other hikes and beaches. If you want a quiet haven this is it! If you like to cook the new kitchen is perfect and well stocked.
The a-frame cabin is wonderfully cozy and comfortable, with great amenities, a lovely front deck and a great yard. It's close to town and Maxwelton Beach and our dog appreciated the yard for playing and sunbathing. The beds are very comfortable and the decor is a wonderful blend of mid-century modern and scandanavian practicality. Would definitely come back, especially in the fall or winter to make better use of the fireplace.
Perfect spot for a quick getaway! The home was cozy and comfortable, with everything we needed; stocked kitchen, soft towels, comfy bedding, etc. We had a lovely dinner on the deck, and a late night playing cards around the dining table. Slept late and back to the deck for breakfast. We’ll be back, for sure!
Upon arrival, I knew this was going to be a fantastic stay. The owners have taken a lot of time and thought in making this an adorable and welcoming home for their guests. The newly remodeled kitchen compels any culinary inclined person to prepare delicious meals. All creature comforts are provided and the property is kept very clean inside and out. It's in a very quiet neighborhood but just a short drive to stores, shops, beaches and other sights on the island. Treat yourself to a stay at this wonderful property!
The cabin is a gem. We have stayed in a lot of places over the years and when we walked in we both immediately felt at home. The decor is refreshing and artistic. We loved the sleeping loft upstairs and the bedding was luscious. Thank you again for a relaxing getaway.
Rented this property for a 1 night stay on Whidbey island. The cabin was clean, close to Langley (shopping/restaurants), and had an easy check in process.
We came to Langley for the annual Murder Mystery weekend and stayed in this super cozy cabin for the night. The owner was friendly and helpful. We made a fire and listened to the sound of rain while discussing possible suspects. Loved it so much that we planned a next trip right away!
We had a great stay on Whidby in this cabin. It was cute and clean, and just what we needed for a short weekend stay. Being Fall, it was starting to get a little chilly, especially for California folks. Downstairs had quite a few wall heaters, but the bed I stayed in upstairs I couldn't find any heat, except in the bathroom. Maybe I missed something, but a portable electric heater would have been nice for the nights. It wasn't cold enough for the wood stove and we weren't around enough to get it going anyways. The upstairs bed was comfortable and warm, although I do wish there were a few more options for pillows (I'm a bit picky though, so its fine). I loved the layout with 2 bed/2 bath. I would caution that this cabin was build for the average sized person and large/tall people could find it tight. The interior doorways are narrower than usual and a tall person might find the loft bedroom ceiling too low. Overall it is a great place and we would love to stay here again if we are ever in the area!
Charming, lovely place to stay!
I will do it again
Property manager/owner was prompt courteous & very helpful. Downstairs beds were too small/ tight for adults. Cabin was very nice, clean & quiet. Very cozy overall & perfect for a young family.
My husband and I stayed here with our two kids after a long day of playing on Fort Ebey State Park. The house was clean, cozy, and as pictured. We brought our laptop so we could watch Netflix after the kids went to bed. Everyone slept great! We'd return if ever back to Whidbey Island.
I loved staying at this haven getaway. The decor was so stylish, it supplied everything I needed and so much more.
Sweet cabin, great spot, loved it
Property as described - well maintained snug getaway. Kitchen fully stocked. Stairway to 2nd floor steep.
I spent the weekend here with my parents and we didn’t want to leave. The cottage was clean and cozy. We loved the decor. Our host was very responsive and helpful. The town of Langley was a short ride away. We shopped and ate there and then settled by the fire in the evening. I’ll be back soon!
My family n pups had a great time staying here. Was very private and quiet. A wonderful place to have spent my 55th Birthday ! Well stocked kitchen, very clean. Hope to go back again sometime soon !
It was a true retreat; quiet, beautiful, and so well appointed. While you are on the edges of a neighborhood, the surrounding trees and overall quiet make you feel away. Easy driving access to beaches, nature hikes, or towns. The host was super accommodating; checking in and making sure we had everything we needed and encouraging us to reach out if there was anything that came up during our visit. We felt well taken care of.
Kirsten was wonderful to deal with. The A-frame is very clean and comfortable, and it's secluded within large fir trees even though it is in a residential neighborhood. The upstairs bed is super comfortable. Kirsten has a packet of very useful info for restaurants, stores, etc. for the area tacked up on the bulletin board. We would definitely stay here again.
Simple, compact but furnished with everything you need. The owners really care that you are welcome and happy. Three deer stopped by during breakfast on our first morning and another came to say goodbye as we packed the car. Easy to get to fun spots along the beaches and in Langley. A good trip!
We loved our stay at this very cute A-frame. It's in a neighborhood but set back with gorgeous trees blocking the street and a vacant wooded lot next door. The front deck was very private and a great place to hang out and barbecue. Interior was open and comfortable for the 4 of us. Interesting art throughout.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful A-frame home with our family. It was so welcoming, clean & cozy!
Very sweet house. Perfect for our stay while attending a wedding on the island. Very accommodating host.
Just what we were looking for. Thank you!
The cabin was adorable and Kristin was incredibly helpful, texting to make sure we had everything prepared for check-in and insisting that we reach out if we had questions or issues. I would absolutely recommend this cabin to anyone interested!
Kitchen is fully stocked with kitchen supplies, gas grill on the deck and indoor wood burning stove made this a perfect fit for us.....this place is perfect for a relaxing evening cooking at home. Many thanks!!!
The house is amazing! We loved how you feel in the middle of the forest, even when you are in a residential neighborhood. We really liked the style of the house! The house has everything you need to be perfectly comfortable. We would defintely come back if we are in Whidbey Island again!
My husband and I loved this exquisite cabin in Clinton! It was immaculately clean, and had an awesomely well-stocked kitchen. We love to cook and were able to make and enjoy lovely meals in front of the fabulous wood-burning stove each evening. We also loved the fun art on the walls! The beds were cozy and beautifully made. We'd love to return for another romantic stay at this sweet cabin.
Very much enjoyed our stay here for the weekend. The A-frame was very cozy and tucked in nicely surrounded by trees yet there's wonderful rays of sunshine that shine through in the day. The wood burning fireplace was great! There are ready cut logs just outside the door and Kristin even left dry twigs and pine cones as tinder to get us started. The kitchen is wonderful! Everything that we needed to cook delicious breakfasts in the morning where all there for equipment. Very short drive away from the ferry and close to the market and delicious bagels! Will definitely stay here again in the future!! Great host!
Our family rented this little cabin for a night just to get out of town. The cabin is located in a neighbor hood, which I have to admit I was surprised by, but I am new to this idea of renting a vacation rental.....we are dyed in the wool tent campers! It was welcoming and had everything we needed, our kids loved it, our dogs loved it, it was nice to relax. There were deer in the front yard when we arrived! We enjoyed having a nice fire and playing board games. We will keep it on our list of places to stay in the future!
Really enjoy our stay. The place is quiet, clean, cool. Will definitely go back and highly recommended. Some parts to improve: Downstairs bedroom has noise while upstairs flushing the toilet. Front deck is very slippery at raining day.
This was the perfect place for a getaway. Perfect size for a couple to connect, but will also bring the kids someday since it has the space. Great value, and great communication from the owner. I'm glad we found this place!
My boyfriend and I went to a wedding in Langley this past weekend. This a-line was the perfect way to spend a rainy, overcast weekend in northern Washington. We went hiking, read by the fire, and enjoyed a beautiful wedding on Whidbey Island. Kristin was the perfect host- very communicative, extremely helpful with food and activity ideas. The weekend was wonderfully relaxing.
This is an A-typical place! A very cool A-Frame home in a quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed the quiet ambiance of the location and unique layout. This place is very rustic, and doesn't even have a TV... that could be good or bad, depending on your point of view! This house fit our family with 2 adult-sized kids somewhat easily, although we had to do a little re-arranging of the kids bedroom slightly. We found it to be clean and accommodating, and would love to come back sometime!
What a wonderful getaway! The Cabin is just right, well appointed, stocked with basics, and cozy. The wood burning fire place keeps everything toasty! We saw deer and eagles from the cabin. It is situated in a suburban type neighborhood, but has a ring of trees around the cabin to create a hideaway feeling. I would for sure come back!
My wife and I live in Seattle and wanted a easy weekend getaway, so we booked this place and it worked out great! We chose to drive up and around (near Anacortes) so we could hike around Deception Pass, Ebey's Landing, and Fort Casey on our way - recommended. Finding the property wasn't too bad, although our AT&T phones lost service about 15 minutes before we got there, so I'm glad the map was already loaded. There were several turns to make off the main highway so definitely have directions ready. We got there well after dark and the property isn't really visible from the street, so we went past it initially before we found the dark little driveway (the mailbox with the address on it is closer to the neighbor's driveway). The place was nice and cozy once we found all the lights and got the fire going in the stove. There were some split logs and paper inside ready for us, but I failed to notice the other logs and kindling on the porch when we came in (it was dark and there weren't any lights on initially). So it took me a while to get a log to light without kindling - my mistake, but now future guests know to look on the porch! The kitchen was newely redone and looked well stocked to do some cooking - although we didn't take advantage of this. The rest of the place was clean and cabin-esque. There was a note with some information about the place and it also said the owner (Kirstin) has plans to do some more updates, so I'm sure the next time will be even better! We had a great time and would highly recommend the trip.
We loved this place, a perfect place to get away from everything for a weekend. It had everything we needed and nothing we didn't. I would come back again for sure.
