We are a licensed Clear Creek County Short Term Rental.
Our beautiful cabin is nestled in the beautiful Arapaho National Forest surrounding St. Mary’s Glacier in the Winterland neighborhood. The natural setting allows for all sorts of outdoor activities year round. In the winter you can enjoy snowshoeing, skiing, snowboarding and snowmobiling. When the snow melts in June, opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, 4x4 off-roading, rafting and zip lining abound. The base of St. Mary's Glacier is a short one mile walk from the cabin and takes 30 to 40 minutes depending on your walking pace. There are also two private lakes in the neighborhood that can be fished using our fishing badges.
The nearby quaint town of Idaho Springs boasts unique shopping and is rich in frontier and mining history. Try your luck at panning for gold after taking in a tour at one of the local mines. Run the rapids of Clear Creek with one of the several rafting companies right in Idaho Springs. Afterwards, soak in our private hot tub or try the hot springs and baths of Indian Springs. Or you can just spend the day shopping and visiting some of the several museums around town that are interesting for the entire family. There are several restaurants in Idaho Springs as well. Beau Jo’s world famous pizza is an excellent choice or you can try one (or two) of the microbrews at Tommyknocker Brewery.
After a long day of invigorating activity, shopping, or exploring, relax in our spacious two bedroom – two bath cabin. The living room has all of the comforts of home including a flat screen television with DirecTV and DVD player. If you’ve come to get away from the television, feel free to push the flat screen against the wall and forget it’s there. You can play some music, stretch out on the couches and enjoy the warmth of the wood-burning fireplace while reading your favorite book. The larger couch also folds out into a queen size bed. The beautifully updated kitchen has everything you’ll need to cook your favorite meals. Also downstairs is a full bathroom equipped with an amazingly relaxing rainforest shower head. Follow the aspen log staircase upstairs to the second bathroom and two bedrooms. The second bedroom sleeps two on a comfortable queen size bed and the master has a larger king size aspen log bed. From the master bedroom or the main entrance downstairs the large front deck can be accessed. Soak all your troubles away and enjoy the amazing scenery in the luxury hot tub situated on the deck.
If you are looking for a base camp for four wheeling and off road trails, please let me know and I will be happy to give you more information about accessing the hundreds of miles of National Forrest roads from the three trail heads in the neighborhood.
So get away for a while and stay in our wonderful cabin. It won’t be a vacation you’ll soon forget.
No firearms allowed.
Enjoyed our mountain getaway. Glenn was very responsive anytime we had a question. Just as pictured. Nice quiet cabin.
We truly enjoyed our stay here.
Had a great time at the cabin. Quiet and quaint with amazing views and location!
This place was a great for what my husband wanted for our summer vacation. We love the mountains and this was a wonderful home away from home. It was cozy, close to some great adventures, and we were spoiled by that hot tub. The photos and description on line drew me in and I was 100% satisfied. Personally the guest journal and the box with brochures I felt gave it a personal loving touch for us guests.
Glenn was great to deal with, communication was excellent. Everything was as advertised. Thank you.
The house was exactly what we needed for our party of 3. Traveling by air to denver, you don't want to worry about simple amenities or kitchen supplies when you get to the house. This house was well equipped with everything we needed from spices, cleaning supplies, towels, and even bandaids (thankful we didnt need them). Location was fabulous for our plans.. close to red rocks, lake dillon, and you can't beat st Mary's trailhead just walking distance from house. Hot tub was is great condition. From the moment we booked the house, Glenn has been a top notch host. Incredibly responsive and even sent information to help plan things to do ahead of time. Thank you, Glenn! I look forward to staying here again.
We really enjoyed the hiking around St.Mary’s. Gorgeous views from the top of the glacier and around the lake, all with a short walking distance from the cabin. The private lakes were pretty, but we had to fish from the road. The cabin itself was perfect for our family. The hot tub was fantastic and it was so quiet.
The cabin was just as pictured - very relaxing, comfortable, and well stocked. The bed was comfy and all the linens were clean. Despite being relatively remote, the cabin was well stocked and clean. Glenn was very helpful and responded to messages quickly. We really enjoyed our stay!!
Very nice place with amenities of wood stove and hot tub. Unfortunately the fishing pass was not at the cabin. We did not connect to get the pass and could not fish the nearby small lake. Disappointing for us on a short 3 night stay.
The owner was quick to respond and eager to assist with any questions and offer assistance if needed. Beautiful views. Do strongly encourage 4 wheel drive if going during snow season. Hot tub just outside the door, wood-burning stove with firewood readily available near the driveway. About 40min west of Denver airport off Hwy 70.
We loved our stay and would recommend. Communication w/ owner, Glenn was great. He was super helpful planning our ski trip and other questions. Place overall was very clean. Home had everything expected and more. Kitchen was small but adequate and very well stocked, even a coffee grinder which was appreciated. Nice grill. Hot tub was nice to come home to after long day of skiing.. especially the night it snowed.. beautiful. There were even a couple pairs of snow shoes:) The walk to the Glacier is highly recommended.. Nice walk and what a beautiful spot! Only thing I would say is when the owner says you really should have 4-wheel drive, I would listen if during winter months. We came in late March. There had been a warm spell so the last 1/4 mile or so off the main road was very muddy/snowy and we had a challenging time getting in/out with our minivan. The day we were supposed to leave, it snowed about 7 the night before and was very windy. Fortunately we did not have a plane to catch b/c we got stuck very quickly trying to get out. Once the plow came on the side roads near the house, we were able to get out no problem, but that was not until early afternoon. The last 3-4 miles to the house are very steep and if the roads are not plowed and clean, could be very treacherous (sign says chains required during adverse conditions). As long as you understand the terrain you are going into, I highly recommend staying here! If you do get snowed in, a gorgeous place to be! Just be prepared for it.
This was our 2nd time to stay in this cabin and it is the perfect getaway! Love the fact that we could stay snuggled by the woodburning stove or relax in the hot tub, but also be close enough to run into Idaho Springs, hike St. Mary's Glacier, make a quick trip to Echo Mountain for snow tubing, or into Denver for a day trip. Glen was quick to answer my phone call when I had a question, however we had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay.
We eloped in Idaho springs! A small snow storm came in, we were prepared for it because the owner was in close contact with us about weather conditions. Cute little town, very nice accommodations! We hope to visit again!
Really enjoyed the stay and hospitality. Would definitely do again 😉
Glenn was excellent - most responsive host I've ever interacted with. He texted info, provided details about everything from hot tub operation to things to do in the area. The cabin was well stocked and clearly loved. It was very comfortable and exactly as described. You can go there and never see another human or drive to town during the day or hike St. Mary's Lake/Glacier. Perfect for a couple to getaway! We definitely look forward to returning.
This property is beautiful, perfectly located, and has everything you could possibly need! My husband and our friends stayed for a weekend and experienced St. Mary's glacier within walking distance of the house. We had an amazing time and the hosts were very helpful and communicative!
My family (husband and 3 daughters ages 5-12) thoroughly loved the cabin! It was extremely cozy and comfortable. Both upstairs beds and fold out sofa bed were in great condition and comfortable! We did experience a couple of different snow events during our stay, the latter of which did end up snowing us out of the cabin for our last 2 nights but Glenn was wonderful about communicating with us on when the road was safe to return and did offer us a free night to make up for it. This cabin was overall great however, with us having kids and wanting to go out an experience different places the location was a little more remote than we would have preferred BUT I would definitely stay here again! I would love to revisit during the warmer months as I feel there would be plenty for us to explore nearby!
We loved the lication and property.
Great accommodation and well-equipped cabin.
Great property. Everything was exactly as advertised. Glenn was very helpful and responsive. House is a great balance between mountain serenity and practical convenience.
Great place to stay!!!
I will definitely come back.
There is so much to do, hiking and fishing. So romantic and secluded. Perfect anniversary getaway!!
The place was awesome! Super clean and perfect! They were great at communicating and easy to get a hold of!
The Harper Cabin just feels like home. It is everything you want in a vacation property!!! 3rd visit and it gets better each time!
A gem at the top of the mountain! This cabin has everything you need to relax and disconnect comfortably. Kitchen and bathrooms were stocked with everything you need, the bed was SUPER comfortable and the hot tub was big and clean! We hope to come back soon! The hosts shared great info about the house and activities close by and were very easy to communicate with. Thanks so much!
This little gold nugget is in the perfect location close to Denver and other surrounding mountain towns, but far enough up the mountain it feels like you're secluded in the mountains. It was perfect! We spent mornings drinking coffee in the hot tub and evenings drinking wine in the hot tub. The cabin was clean and accomodating and the bed was amazingly comfy! We hiked the nearby trail to see the glacier, my tip would be go early in the morning, like before 9am, to beat the crowd! Glenn was a great host and was very quick in reply to communication, the info packet he put together to send beforehand provided so much detail in how to get to the cabin as well as detailed activities for surrounding areas, so helpful! I HIGHLY recommend going to Idaho Springs to Main Street Market for breakfast, all their bread is homemade in hosue and they have many flavors...they food and coffee were delicious! Also, take the Georgetown Railroad Loop trip, it was well worth it too! Thank you Glenn for helping make our anniversary trip enjoyable and relaxing in your mountain getaway!
Really cool place to stay in the mountains. Clean, comfy and a great place to stay.
The home is beautiful. Squeaky clean. Our host was extremely accommodating and very thoughtful. We would love to visit again. Glenn, you are the best host ever. #1 in our books.
The location was great for hiking up the St Mary's trail (which we did more than once). Fun little trout pond that the kids caught fish in and of course the hot tub was very relaxing and easy since it was right on the deck. Grill was up to date and worked great. It is off the beaten path so make sure you have what you need before heading that direction. But that is what my family loved about it (being off the beaten path a bit). Owner had good communication and let us know as soon as the cabin was ready for us.
Our stay was perfect…awesome property, amazing location, and an owner who is thoughtful in the details and a wonderful communicator. There were no surprises here, just a peaceful, enjoyable stay! Hope to come back one day!
All of us enjoyed the peace and serenity of your home. It was nice to be up and away from the town but yet close enough to go do things with the family. We really enjoyed the hot tub after a long day it’s nice to just sit and relax. Glen you are an Awesome host and I thank you for keeping in contact with us on everything in a timely manner. We look forward to coming back to your place in the future. Our whole family enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much for everything. Thank you, Tina & Doug
The cabin was perfect for my spouse and two friends! The views we’re amazing ! Close enough to town but still far enough away for peace and quiet. Total serenity! Glen was very easy to communicate with and responded quickly. We can’t wait to come back!
We stayed for 4 days and had an amazing vacation stay. Many great things to see and do nearby and the cabin feels like coming home every day! Enjoy the early morning light on the glacier and avoid the crowds.
Cutest cabin in a beautiful quaint neighborhood with absolutely breath taking views! Owner was wonderful with awesome communication! Definitely will be back! ❤️
Loved the property; easily spacious enough for the 5 of us. Would love to come back some time.
This cabin was beyond amazing!! from the views to the great beds and hot hot-tub! . The cabin is just perfect. it has everything you need. we went ATV with ATV TOUR COLORADO. Its BIG FUN!!! Its was a experience we will never forget!! Thank you so much Glen! We cant wait to come back!!!!
This house was warm and inviting. It had everything we could possibly need. The beds were comfortable. The owner was easy to get in touch with and communicated with us via text as needed. He also left information on the property and activities with our interests in mind.
Our week at the house was amazing. Walking distance from house to St. Mary's Glacier Trailhead. Beautiful views. Hot tub was a plus after a long hike. Was a wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary week.
Glenn was awesome to work with. He answered all our questions. The cabin is comfortable for a family of six. We all enjoyed our time there. The grandkids really enjoyed the hot tub, along with the adults. The views around the lakes are beautiful. Just so peaceful and relaxing. Thank you for sharing your cabin.
The cabin is kept very clean and well stocked! The directions to locations and for the cabin were very detailed and helpful. My family and I couldn’t have been more pleased! Thank you for sharing your home with us!
Beautiful cabin 10,350ft. up in the scenic Rockies, strategically placed between two fantastic little towns with anything you may want or need. Extremely attentive hosts already anticipate all the questions with the awesome “3-ring binder” info and always available for any other question you may have. Gorgeous, peaceful setting, would stay here again any day!
My husband and I booked a trip to the mountains to get away, disconnect, enjoy nature, and find some solitude. The Harper's cabin did not disappoint. Everything was flawless and the hosts, WOW! They went above and beyond - both in their cabin and with their communication. The cabin is well appointed with EVERYTHING you will need, including snow shoes, sleds, snow toys, firewood and materials to start said fire, cozy sleeping spaces, extra blankets, extra towels, great internet, amazing views, clean hot tub, lots of kitchen basics (spices, olive oil, peanut butter, etc) and a well appointed kitchen. The hosts have created a packet about local activities and it is spot on! We hiked up to St. Mary's glacier, got into the perfectly clean hot tub, started a fire in the fireplace (which keeps the cabin super warm), and spent the night watching the stars. Perfection. Glen was available to text, answered all of our questions, and even gave us a heads up about a spring snow storm. The property itself is beautiful, the hosts are outstanding, and the surrounding area is wonderful for a disconnected get-away. We will come back and are looking forward to meeting Glen and Austina!
We had an absolutely wonderful time at Glenn's cabin! Everything was perfect. Glenn's communication was very informative and extremely welcoming! A beautiful hideaway in the mountains, yet not to far from civilization. The views are truly breathtaking and picturesque!
This was a wonderful place to get away for a long weekend. If you have a 4WD or AWD vehicle, you MUST go during the snow. I teared up at the beauty I saw. It looked like being in a Christmas card. The beds were amazingly comfortable and the walk to St Mary's was magical, but not too difficult. And the owner was a library of information to make the stay perfect. We will be back!
We had such a great time at this cabin! It was just as pictured and communication with Glen was absolutely fantastic. He answered every question, and sent us information on hikes, fun things to do and was just wonderful. The location is beautiful . The cabin is clean and cozy. The surrounding area and town of Idaho springs is adorable with great stores and restaurants. We will certainly be back ! We loved this place. The kids had so much fun playing in the snow and woods around the cabin and overall we couldn’t have asked for a sweeter vacation.
This cabin and the location was exactly what we were looking wanting, especially for our first trip to CO. Close to opt for the tourist route, yet away from to relax in the mountains. Unfortunately, low temperatures caused the water to freeze, and then came THE blizzard. Glenn, the owner, was extremely hospitable during our entire stay. He immediately headed up from out of state to attempt to correct the problem. Water never unfroze, but we also never went without a place to stay even as the main road up/down the mountain and the interstate as well, were closed. My wife and I made a friend in the end. We will be back. I can not recommend this owner/this property enough. Neither will disappoint.
We had a great trip staying at this mountain cabin. The hot tub and fireplace were our favorite. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. It was a perfect place for our family.
Amazing cabin with great views and hiking areas. Perfect spot for a getaway.
Glenn was the best host any of us have ever dealt with! Super helpful and communicated with me the entire time, went above and beyond with giving travel advice as well. The cabin was perfect, exceeded all expectations we had. The hike up Saint Mary’s was amazing also, only about a 15 minute walk from the cabin. Definitely planning on staying again next year and would recommend it to everyone!
This experience was perfect. Everything was beautiful and Glenn was incredibly helpful! I would 10/10 recommend this to anyone looking for a getaway!
The cabin was just as advertised. The surroundings were everything we wanted. The owner was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area.
Kids loved it and so did we. Glenn is an awesome person with great communication and has a beautiful home.
My partner and I had a fantastic time at Glenn's cabin! It had everything we could possibly need, so clean, and the fireplace and hot tub were a big plus. Definitely one of the best house rental experiences I've ever had. Glenn was very quick to respond to any questions that popped up and provided plenty of guidance and info about the area. Highly, highly recommend and I hope we'll be able to come back an enjoy it again soon!
easy to get to, Glen was very helpful with things to do around area. Great homey atmosphere in cabin.
This place is fantastic! We get away a few times a year, and it's almost always a cabin in the mountains. This property is fantastic. It was everything as advertised and more. So well stocked, organized and SO WELL kept. Great cabin and great location. We will definitely be back!
We had an amazing time at the cabin! It had everything we needed. The owner was awesome to work with and provided us with all the information we needed. The hot tub was wonderful after hiking. I would definitely recommend staying here and we plan to come back!
This was an amazing experience our group of friends tried to plan a trip for a long time for 40th bday and this was perfect! Hosts were very easy to talk to and extremely helpful before & during entire stay. Would love to come back! Only regret is forgetting to write in the cabin journal!
Please enjoy the drive to this special home. I have stayed in a VRBO in Italy, Croatia, and Norway, and this location and home rivals them all. Impeccably clean, you want for nothing, as the owner’s are first class. Hike the glacier, soak in the hot tub, and enjoy the serenity. Well done Glenn.
We absolutely loved the cabin! So much to do around there like hike and fish. The cabin had everything we needed. It was clean and organized when we arrived. Such a peaceful area.
Working with Glenn and Austin's was a pleasure. Very welcoming and very helpful when I had a medical issue, finding local care facilities for me! Great Property matched description perfectly!!
All rentals should be as well run and well appointed. Everything you could want from a cabin in the woods. Close to good hiking.
This cabin is just perfect. It is so clean, comfortable & well organized with everything you could possibly need. The owners are very quick to respond to any questions & provide you with all the information you need for your stay. The hot tub is fantastic! The views in every direction are amazing & we enjoyed walks through the neighborhood with the sound of the creek & magazine like views of the community lake & the glacier & mountains all around. The hike at St Mary’s glacier was amazing! The scenery is stunning & absolutely worth the effort to hike up there. We just couldn’t get enough of the views. You can’t go wrong with this one! I just wish our stay could’ve lasted longer!
For a short weekend get away this is a great location! It’s so quiet and peaceful up there and at night you can see all the stars. The beds are so amazing none of us wanted to leave. We will definitely be headed back!
We loved our stay at this amazing cabin. It was very clean and updated and the kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked with everything we needed. The cabin was cozy and very comfortable with plenty of storage space, especially in the bedrooms. The beds and pillows were also very comfortable with extra blankets or fans provided, depending on your needs. We’ve stayed at a lot of different places and Glen has definitely been the best host we’ve ever had! He was great with communicating and was very helpful and accommodating. We loved hiking to the glacier every day and even went on a community moonrise hike. We love using the snowshoes provided in the cabin and also the large hot tub. We would definitely stay there again and look forward to returning!
Everything about this property is amazing! Nice cozy cabin on top of the mountain. Even better your right at the base of St. Mary’s Glacier, so you can see the glacier from the deck and hot tub! The owners are extremely nice people. They will provide you more tips than you’ll think of asking. The cabin is extremely clean and comfortable. We really look forward to booking this place again ASAP!! Thank you guys for letting us rent your cabin. It was an experience I’ll never forget!
Had a short 2 night stay here and it was fantastic! Amenities are great and the owner is incredibly courteous and accommodating.
Glenn was very helpful in the whole process. Very nice home with great views! Would definitely recommend!
Perfect place to get away from it all. From the wood burning stove to the hot tub, this was perfect for our weekend away. Internet/tv service was awful, but you don't go to a place like this to watch tv. A large ottoman would be perfect tho for when you do want to watch a little tv or enjoy the fire. We will be back!
Fabulous cabin in the mountains. Secluded setting with neighbors nearby. 2 fabulous fishing lakes, one right at the base of a mountain. Beautiful picturesque setting for a lake. Walk from cabin to lakes and glacier. Some of the terrain a bit rocky for our special needs son. Glenn could not have been more accommodating. He kept us totally informed on everything and great info in the cabin as to what to do while visiting. Idaho Springs is a very cute little town. We had a wonderful stay. Highly recommend this cabin. Only issue we had was getting use to the altitude. We are 65 and our son is 37. My son and I had trouble breathing if we exerted ourselves too much. But this would not keep me from returning in the future. The cabin has everything you need and more. Even had fishing poles and a tackle box with 2 fishing passes for my husband. The views and wildlife are spectacular. We highly recommend this cabin. A big thank you to Glenn.
Our trip took place in the middle of September when the leaves started turning and the views were incredible. The cabin was clean, updated and comfortable. The hot tub was excellent after our hike to St. Mary’s Glacier🏔, fishing 🎣 or going on a gold mine tour. The beds were like sleeping on clouds! Excellent trip and cabin! Thanks for all your help Glenn😊
Great little cabin at a fantastic location. Walking distance to St Marys Glacier trail and convenient to Idaho Springs and other attractions such as Mount Evans and Georgetown. Everything went smooth with the rental and we were supplied pages of information covering directions, how to use hot tub, and things to do. A 5 star experience.
Absolutely loved this cabin and location. The cabin was spotless and beautiful and had everything we needed for relaxing vacation. We used the hot tub everyday! The stars were amazing The hiking was awesome- loved the trailhead so close! We fished everyday in the beautiful lakes. We felt it was a great location for day trips to Denver,RedRocks and RMNP. Communication was easy. Highly recommend! Will be back! Thank you!
This property defines “mountain cabin.” Sitting at 10,300 with tall trees all around. Loved the master bed; log cabin perfect in design and also very comfortable. The owners were extremely easy to reach when we had questions. Very much appreciated their immediate availability. Lots of great information shared by owners for things to do in the area.
Great cabin to relax in! Beautiful setting!
Glenn was awesome to work with while planning our stay. The cabin is beautiful and has all the amenities you need. My family loved the hot tub, fishing in the lake and hiking St. Mary’s Glacier.
Comfortable, well equipped, cozy cabin. Owner is very nice. Prompt and helpful with questions or problems. Very clean, well situated to hiking, fishing, etc. Loved our stay there.
Great spot. Close to Idaho Springs with shops and restaurants, but exclusive enough being tucked into the mountains.
This house was an amazing find! It’s perfect for a quick getaway, only 45 minutes from Denver. I would absolutely recommend.
We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for our family vacation. It was great to grill dinner then sit in the hot tub to wind down the day. Glen was so easy to work with and was very helpful when I had questions about the area. Would recommend this cabin to anyone!
This property was great, it had everything you would need for your vacation. Everything was very clean, including the hot tub. Glenn was great with giving me updates about the weather and information pertaining to the area. There are some nice hiking trails around that were fun to explore. Overall, great experience, I couldn't have asked for better.
Property was clean and very nice. Had a good 2 night stay, beds were comfortable and the fireplace was a nice touch!
Close enough to the city for an evening out, but far enough away for the silence and peace of the mountains. Was there for 3 days with 5 guys and we were barely inside during the trip. Fantastic deck for relaxing with friends at all times of the day. Hiking to the glacier was a perfect distance. Fantastic customer service - very responsive to all inquiries, questions, and offered great recommendations.
The cabin checked all the basic boxes, clean, well kept, well stocked etc. But on top of that, Glenn the owner was very helpful and responsive. Cabin is a great location for skiing and then enjoying the hot tub after a day on the slopes. Even got to see a moose along the road on way to cabin!
Beautiful setting and wonderful activities close by - could not recommend more highly. Owners incredibly responsive to every need
The beds were really comfortable and we loved the hot tub.
The cabin had all we needed and more. The beautiful location and convenience to what we wanted to do was great. A great place and the hot tub after a day of skiing was perfect. The woodstove gave our family the coziness we totally enjoyed while being together on our getaway!
We had great time at your beautiful cabin. The cabin was clean and well stocked with all the necessities to make the stay relaxing and enjoyable. The hot tub is clean and very soothing after a steep, cold hike to St. Mary’s Glacier. The snow and warm fireplace made the cabin feel cozy and romantic. We will definitely be back. Thank you Glenn and Austina
Cabin is above 10,000 feet elevation, tucked away down steep snowy roads with a beautiful view of the mountains. Be prepared with Auto Socks or chains for your vehicle if traveling during snow. Even the plow with chains had a difficult time getting up some of the roads. Very Nice cabin, my family enjoyed the stay very much. Cabin was well stocked with everything we needed. Grocery store is a 25min drive down a 12mile road winding road. The owner Glenn was super helpful and responsive!
This cabin was great! Glenn the owner was very easy to work with and make renting this property so easy. The cabin itself was so peaceful and was definitely what we needed to relax and enjoy some time away from everything. The 2 lakes were excellent for fishing with excellent scenery. I would be more than happy to rent this property again!
Our stay was wonderful! Glen has a beautiful home and everything has been thought of to make your vacation comfortable. The cabin is close to so many local and national parks. It's a great jumping off point or you can simply enjoy the beautiful neighborhood amenities. My kiddos were thrilled to trout fish and play in the snow at nearby St.Mary's glacier, but we also snuck away to explore nearby Mt. Evan's highest paved road and pan for gold at the Phoenix Mine. Can't wait to come back and experience another season! Thanks Glen for a memorable vacation!!!!
We loved this cabin! Nice hot tub & very clean place. We really enjoyed the small lakes within walking distance, we caught a lot of trout! The bed was very comfy, and nice showers. This cabin is not close to town, so take your supplies with you, but was nice and quite! The drive to town isn't terrible, but we didn't go there to spend time in town, so worked out perfect for us. The host where very hospitable and helpful! Highly recommend, and would stay here again!
To be honest, we stumbled upon this place while searching and we are so glad we booked. It was very clean, well laid out, and offered access to beautiful trails, hiking and mountains. Still close enough to Idaho Springs to get what you need form town too. Would highly recommend this location.
Very private home in a snowy wonderland. Really enjoyed our first visit with friends to Colorado. Thank you for making our stay so nice and relaxed.
There is nothing like sitting in the hot tub as the snow falls after a day of skiing!
We had an awesome time. The cabin was perfect, the hot tub was fun and the drive up the mountain was beautiful. We will definitely be back.
If you’re looking for seclusion with a deep, backwoods setting, this is the place! The owner of the cabin, Glen, was more than helpful in navigating us from airport to cabin. He also provided a list of places for entertainment during our stay. The cabin itself had everything we needed for the stay. Truly a top notch stay that I highly recommend!! Thanks Glen! Andrew
Plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 children, this cabin is in a quiet area with great amenities. It was a very relaxing weekend getaway!
Had an amazing stay
Just what it says, gorgeous mountain cabin. Especially nice being so close to Denver without having to drive further west and still have the hiking and adventure close by. We survived a gusty 2 days hiking and soaking in the hot tub. Glen was easy to reach. Would stay again.
My boyfriend and I rented this cabin with two friends and it was exactly what we wanted. It's spacious enough for several people but still cozy, secluded yet close enough to town when you need supplies, and equipped with plenty of amenities. We loved having a fire (inside and out), grilling, and experiencing two climates-- sunny and cool, then sudden snow. It was beautiful, relaxing, and perfect for two couples to enjoy the environment and each other. The trailhead to St. Mary's Glacier is close enough to walk to, and the hike itself was very rewarding. We didn't allow enough time for the hot tub to heat up before it was too late to get in, but one of us finally got in when everyone else was asleep. I would love to stay here again and try out that hot tub!
This cabin had everything we needed to cook and enjoy ourselves at night, between trips to convenient hiking spots by day.
The Harpers offer a very nice home in a breathtaking cabin near St. Mary's Glacier. There is much to do if you want to be Adventurous and very comfortable for a quiet and relaxing time. The house is well stocked with almost anything you could need. We appreciated the laundry, the kitchen, the grill and fire pit. Owners were accessible as needed and very pleasant to work with. Bedrooms were very nice in comfort and size and we had 6 people there comfortablely. This has nothing to do with the Cabin itself- but I'd like to mention if you have never been to Colorado the altitude of this location may be to high if you don't take time to acclimate yourself. We took two days before and it still wasn't enough at 10400 ft. We enjoyed ourselves!
Our stay here was wonderful. This cabin is secluded in the woods at 10,000 feet. As long as you get your groceries there is no reason to leave. There is hiking, fishing, campfires, and a hot tub. If you do find a need to go into town, it is only 10 or 20 minute drive. Idaho Springs is a quite town with shopping and lots of restaurants. Also, Mount Evans is a short drive on highway 103. You will see tons of beauty and animals.
This cabin has everything you need for a summer vacation getaway, with emphasis the getaway! From the time you leave the interstate and start up the aspen lined road relaxation begins. The hot tub awaits, the decor is warm and inviting and the views are awesome. All the amenities of home minus the wifi!!!!! So unplug, relax and explore Colorado. You will not be disappointed. Denver is just about an hour away so take in a Rockies ballgame or visit the Zoo. Idaho Springs is close enough to pick up groceries, gas and some great Pizza and locally brewed beer! Don't worry about spices, foil, storage bags etc...all you need is already there! Our second stay did not disappoint and we will definitely return. Glenn is a gracious host and easy to contact if you have any questions.
Thank you! We had a wonderful stay. Hot tub is awesome.
Very nice and cozy cabin with everything you may need during your stay.
Cabin is beautiful, clean and well equipped with everything you need. Hosts were wonderful and responsive to all the questions we had. Had an amazing weekend and would definitely return!
Everything about the cabin was fantastic. Beautiful views while still feeling secluded. Don't miss out on the glacier, its a short hike up to the lake and absolutely worth it. The cabin was very clean and stocked with everything you need besides food. The hot tub was amazing to sit in while it was snowing. Glenn was very accommodating and answered all of our questions quickly. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely rent this cabin again.
What a great place! We had a wonderful time (including a bonus of 8 of snow)! The owners are outstanding!
I can't say enough about how amazing our stay at this cabin was for our honeymoon! Everything we needed to prepare meals was provided in the kitchen. Any questions we had Glen and Austina were quick to respond. We enjoyed going down to Idaho Springs to shop and eat at TommyKnockers and Beau Jo's Pizza (the pizza is very delicious). The hot tub was very relaxing after our hike to St. Mary's Glacier. The sights from the cabin were beautiful along with the drive up to the cabin. We definitely would recommend this cabin coming to Colorado and also we will be staying here again in the future! Thank you for an amazing stay!
Lovely mountain cabin! Well maintained home with everything you need to make your stay enjoyable!
The cabin and area were perfect. The owner was very helpful with any questions and provided great information about activities nearby. The beds were very cozy and the kitchen and bathrooms were supplied with little extras that made the stay very comfortable. The hike to the glacier was amazing! We hope to be back soon!
We had a fabulous time at this cabin. We loved it. What a location! Thanks again Glenn!!
I have rented many properties with home away.com. This property has been one of my favorites!! This is the cabin if you're looking for a great mountain experience. The property, location and owner made it a great experience!
The owners were extremely helpful and informative of the property and surroundings. They provided ameneties we weren't even expecting! Beds were so cozy and the hot tub was a huge bonus to our stay. Soothed our aching muscles after hiking St. Mary's glacier, which is only a half-mile away. Very relaxed and private setting in the mountains. I know for certain that in future travels to the Denver Colorado area, I'll never stay anywhere else but here. Thank you Glenn and Austina for making our stay so amazing!
This property was absolutely beautiful! A great weekend getaway in a peaceful mountain setting with outstanding views! Glenn and Austina were very accommodating and helped with anything we needed. Highly recommend this mountain cabin for anyone looking to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery.
Location, views, mountains, trees, peaceful, hot tub AMAZINGNESS!!!! So my stay included my wife and 3 friends (party of 5) we all fit comfortably. The house was surprisingly stocked up with different needs. The kitchen was LOADED so we decided to leave some stuff behind as well for the next guest or home owner just because. The owner was always just a call/text away if we ever needed anything, and very kind to say the least. We had such a cozy amazing stay, my wife n I are now looking into moving from Miami to Colorado. The home doesn't have Internet, so if you have kids that you want to disconnect from their phones this is the PERFECT place (my friends qualified as my kids as they're always sucked into their phones) They have plenty of games to play in the living room as well as endless movie channels on tv for those settling in nights. I absolutely loved my stay and just cannot stop thinking about this place. Definitely would go back for another vacation.
This cabin getaway is precisely what the description depicts. The owners are as mentioned incredible with all contact, and go beyond what would be expected. This was our first time spending anytime in a mountainous environment; at an altitude of 10,400 feet, we definitely got what we were looking forward to experiencing! There isn't anything that we could have had differently; the owner even went to the measure of purchasing snow related items for our outdoor entertainment through Amazon during our stay! I Would advise for peace of mind to travel by use of either a four wheel drive or all wheel drive vehicle during the winter; which would afford the confidence transiting the winter conditions. We are a family of four including a lab retriever; upon arrival felt at home immediately. This property is perfect for all who would wish to experience or return to such an atmosphere. Again much thanks and respect to the owner for all their endeavors!
One word....PERFECT! You will not go wrong with renting this cabin. It is the most wonderful hideaway! Perfect for family getaways or romantic getaways for 2! Owners are so accommodating & are easy to get in contact with if needed. Location is perfect! Idaho springs is a cute town to explore & eat. We cannot wait to go back & hope you enjoy it as much as our family did. The kids have memories to last them a lifetime! Thank you for renting out your home!
Great get away spot. Cabin was great, hot tub very soothing. Going in mid November it was a good thing to have 4x4. Roads weren't too bad. Just better to be ready for it.
This is a great place to get away and enjoy the serenity of the mountains. The cabin was comfortable with wonderful views and great places to hike nearby. We would definitely stay again!
From the moment we booked to arrival, we never worried at all. The communication was the absolute best we have ever experienced and the use of the app, HomeAway, on our cell phones made this a breeze. The cabin was even better than shown and exceeded our expectations and needs. The outside sitting area, the deck, the inside were all topnotch. The bed, only stayed in the room overlooking the deck, was the best we had ever had. For me to sleep in, it had to be great. It took us a couple of days to get used to the altitude, we are from the Dallas area but it was not a problem. Numerous short hikes every morning and evening helped get used to it plus it was a great walk to the lakes. After 4 days we felt we could make it to the glacier and we did. The views from up there are incredible. My wife is always looking for critters and we saw one large one. A moose was laying in the trees across from the cabin, maybe 100 feet away but he was difficult to see. The towns of Idaho Springs, Black Hawk, Winter Park, Georgetown, and Leadville are all reasonable drives to get to so there was no lack of excitement. Would I recommend this cabin to a friend? Heck no, they might get the date I wanted!! Just kidding of course. We will be back when Colorado time is needed again. One final word, Book here, you will not be disappointed. George and Ann Gillespie
This was absolutely the cleanest, most well kept cabin we have ever stayed in! It's in a great and very beautiful location, and is perfect for a nice getaway. It is equipped with absolutely everything you could possibly need, and the hot tub is a huge plus! I highly recommend this cabin! The owner, Glenn, is super nice and wonderful to work with. I really feel as if he goes above and beyond to make your stay wonderful. This will be a cabin we stay in every chance we get!
This was such a beautiful place to stay! The owners were so accommodating to our last minute travel plans and the home was simply gorgeous. The directions were wonderful and the house was so well maintained, from the snow removal outdoors, to the impeccably kept interiors. As I told the owners in the journal they left for guests, the pictures just don't do it justice. It's very peaceful and was a wonderful spot for our family to get away and relax together. Thank you!
This was our 3rd stay on St Mary's Glacier and we had more snow than I have ever seen. We kept the wood stove burning and enjoyed the cabin, and the wonderful hot tub, on the days it was windy and we didn't want to go down the mountain. We love that the cabin is close to so many things, Idaho Springs for lunch or groceries, Winter Park for snowmobiling, Georgetown to watch those crazy people racing on a frozen lake. We love this place and consider it our home away from home so thanks so much for sharing your cabin, again.
My husband and I stayed here for a week. The cabin is very nice and is in a great location. We hiked to St. Mary's glacier right out the front door. The hike to the top of the glacier is totally worth the view. We also hiked to James Peak from Lake Loch Lomond, which is an absolutely beautiful area. There is a 4 wheel drive trail called Yankee Hill right up behind the cabin that has incredible views. We also white water rafted with Clear Creek rafting company, located in Idaho Springs, which is only a 25 minute drive away. Very fun and professional company, highly recommend them. We really enjoyed soaking in the hot tub on the deck after our daily activities. This mountain cabin is a little piece of heaven.
Besides myself my wife, Mother and two grown sons enjoyed our 2 night stay. We were quite pleased that this beautiful setting and accommodation was within walking distance of our 3rd son's wedding ceremony. The glacier area is so adjacent to Denver but quaintly remote, devoid of the rampant development peculiar to a lot of Colorado's mountain communities. We found all the amenities we needed and everything worked perfectly. (We could have used another top blanket on the fold-out bed, however, for warmth). My mother got interested in dreaming of a get-a-way with my 3 sisters at the mountain home. They venture out every fall in the Rockies somewhere for a real relaxing 3 days.
My family and I stayed at this cabin for a wonderful week long vacation. The cabin was everything we were expecting and more. We had a slight problem with the door lock but that was very quickly taken care of. The location and view at this cabin is fantastic. The interior is very nicely decorated and has everything you will need for your stay. The nearby town of Idaho Springs is great to walk around for shopping and to grab a bite to eat. This cabin is very centrally located to a lot of the fun things to do in Colorado. The hot tub was a very nice added bonus. I would have loved to stay for another week! I would stay again in a heartbeat!! This cabin was wonderful!
The cabin was everything promised and more! We had a wonderful time! We enjoyed the wood burning stove, fully furnished kitchen (and grill) and the ideal hot tub in this cabin. We had a fabulous experience and certainly plan to book this place again. The owners were very responsive and helpful during booking. They have thought of everything to make your stay fabulous! While at the cabin, we knew they were just a phone call away if needed (we never needed them because everything we needed was there). They really have thought of everything! There is so much fun to be had all around the area too! Our family had such a superb time! The trail head to St. Mary’s Glacier (the most spectacular heavenly view) is only ¼ mile from the cabin. It is a must do while you are visiting this cabin!
Our family of 4 had a great time in this cabin! We panned for gold in Idaho Springs (ARGO mine), hiked up to St. Mary's Glacier (parking for the hike is just outside of the cabin neighborhood, very close!) and went rafting in Idaho Springs as well! The cabin had all of the things we needed to make a couple of meals, as well as was comfortable and relaxing! The town of Idaho Springs had a great little grocery store, resturants as well as activites to do for the whole family (we brought our 7 and 4 year old and they were able to pan for gold, raft and hike!) I would stay here again!
We really enjoyed our 3-night stay in this lovely cabin. So comfortable and relaxing! Beautiful hikes! Amazing, huge hot tub! We would love to return some day.
Cabin was great! We loved the area as well. Winter weather was a little disruptive, but that is to be expected. Owners were as helpful as possible, no fault of theirs. Wood burning stove was a big plus!
Nice cabin, great area! Weather created minor inconvenience, owners were helpful, no fault of theirs. Lots to do and see nearby. Definitely recommend 4 wheel drive in winter!
This is a lovely place - comfortable, very well-kept, clean, stocked (they even have a collection of games!), and attractive inside and out. We loved the log staircase and both give two 30-something thumbs-up for the decor - yay for clean-and-simple with NO mountain kitsch! The kitchen (with all the dishes/implements you'd need for concocting food and drink) is great for home-made meals, the wood stove is hot and awesome to sip wine in front of, the hot tub is private and great (we had fun playing with the disco lights - but really enjoyed being out in the dark soaking under the full moon in the falling snow). The nearest neighbor isn't too far away, but we didn't see or hear another person the whole weekend. Just down the road from the trailhead for St. Mary's Glacier, lake, and beyond (we didn't do James Peak this time around, but highly recommend it if you're looking for a more ambitious adventure!), and there's also terrific hiking right out the door (just a short walk through the woods to some truly panoramic Rocky Mountain vistas). The owners are super-nice and easy to contact. Dog-friendly was the icing on the cake - our old hound loved playing in the snow and snoozing in front of the fire. Would love to come back with another couple or a fun group for another quick vacation!
We had a wonderful week at the cabin. So quiet and peaceful. There was a LOT of snow, even though it was late May. A winter storm had come through the day before we arrived. But there were shovels handy, so we had no problem clearing the steps and a path to the hot tub. We had a fire every night. Beds were comfortable and the bathrooms nice. The kitchen was great and well-stocked with equipment. A few staple foods were there, and we added to the stock by leaving more things when we left. The directions were perfect; we had no trouble getting up to the cabin. Hint - IGNORE your GPS and do not go up Mine Road! Follow the instructions given by the owners - much easier. We went down to Idaho Springs nearly every day to buy groceries for supper and go to Starbucks to use the Internet, so the fact that there is no internet at the cabin was not a problem. David was so kind to allow us to arrive early on the first day. We really appreciated that. The only negative thing had nothing to do with the cabin itself. Living at 10,300 ft. altitude for a week is hard on us Southerners! If you go, be sure to drink LOTS of water and take it easy. Wonderful place; I'm glad we stayed there.
My husband and I had our honeymoon at this cabin and it was PERFECT! It was soo beautiful and relaxing the week we stayed there. Our cabin stay was so peaceful and relaxing! The town of idaho springs is about 9-10 miles away. It is a cute town with the best pizza you will ever try and several other good restaurants! The hot tub was perfect to relax in in the evenings. When sitting in the hot tub, beautiful trees surrounded the deck and bright stars were always shinning in the sky to look at! We didn't get the chance to go skiing, but there are several ski opportunities within 45 minutes of the cabin. We drove about 45 minutes to a wonderful outlet mall and had fun shopping our last day there. We delt with the cabin owner David and he was wonderful! He was always available for questions and helped out whenever he could. My husband and I definitely plan on coming back as soon as we can and would recommend this cabin for any type of atmosphere (family trip, honeymoon, couple retreat, friend trip, etc.) Thanks again David for the wonderful stay!
We stayed in this wonderful cabin for Christmas 2010. It far exceeded our expectations! The location is perfect and the area is just beautiful. The inside is extremely comfortable and the owners have many extras such as games, firewood and even a pair of snowshoes in the front closet. I was also very excited that they permitted me to bring my dog with us. The hot tub on the deck was my favorite feature. There is nothing like soaking in the hot tub under the stars while it is snowing after a long hike. Thank you so much for allowing us this amazing escape. I will definately return soon!
Thank you for the great stay at your cabin. This is a well furnished place at a great price. The neighbor Sam is very friendly and helpful. There is an abundance of firewood enough for a fire inside and out (firepit outside) every night. The cabin is very cozy and is decorated very well. We only had to buy a couple cheap things for the place on our stay: coffee, sugar, fire starters, charcoal fluid for the grill. No big deal. Keypad lock made it easy to get in and out without keys. Make sure not to use the iphone directions to this place as it will take you on a road that is similar to a mountain top. My mistake. I shouldve used the directions they provided me. (no difference in mileage but huge difference in terrain) The hot tub was super hot at 104 degrees just like I like it and big enough to fit at least 4-6 people in comfortably. If youre looking for an inexpensive cabin that has all the extras of an expensive cabin then this is the place to go. Im no expert, but will recommend this place highly as all other reviews have and most likely stay here again if I ever make it back to the rockies. Got some other places to go first. Thanks, V
We were very pleased with the whole cabin. We spent a lot of time outside just walking and hiking. The hot tub was perfect. Very quiet and serene and exactly what we were hoping for. The wildflowers around the area made for some nice photos. The cabin is very comfortable and elegant. All the comforts of home and then some. The beautiful scenery right from the decks and the smell of the pines - I wish I was back there right now!
This cabin is as nearly perfect as one could imagine. Javier and David have decorated it beautifully and the view from the master suite is second to none!! The perfect place for a cozy long weekend.
My family and I stayed here in March 2010. We loved the amenities and decor of the cabin, as well as its proximity to the glacier. Where the cabin is located is so very peaceful and quiet, and it's super-cozy inside. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in the St. Mary's area. The owners are also very attentive to renters' need/desires.
we stayed 12-26-09 thru 01-02-10 and it was the most wonderful cabin had everything we needed. it is a beautiful cabin and we had a great time. it was well stocked with information and fire wood we had a fire everynight and it was great not to worry about running out of wood. also the information they provided about places to go was great too. I would love to stay again but in the summer next time. oh and lets not forget the hot tub wonderful in the snow.
This cabin is WONDERFUL!! The owners were a treat to deal with and cbain was perfect. We enjoyed being away from it all. This is a great place for a couple or a family. My dog LOVED being able to go out back and wander around. She loves the snow and we woke up to enough fo her to play in. My husband and I enjoyed the deck and hottub. The pictures do not do this place justice. It is just lovley. We will stay there again for sure. We took my parents and just hung out for a few days. There are great little stores and resturants in Idaho Springs and the outlets at SilverThorn were great too. The cabin has everything you will need and then some. Owners really took pride in decorating this place and the guys appreciated the LCD with Dish for Sunday Football. If it snows and picture goes out just go wipe the snow off the dish out front. Worked like a charm!!
Absolutely gorgeous, the pictures simply do not do it justice! We had a fabulous few days here, the hot tub was a real bonus. Everything was so well presented and comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
