The forest is our back yard, cross country ski, snow shoe, or hike by walking out the back door.10 minutes to best entry to Heavenly ski slopes, 5 miles away from Stateline casinos.
Our home is 3,500 sq feet with 12' ceilings, five bedrooms, 3 baths. one king bed, 3 queen beds, 2 twin beds accommodating a total 10 people.
Our beautifully remodeled home offers the perfect combination of privacy and convenience! Situated on a large heavily wooded lot and back to the National Forest The house provides a sense of privacy and seclusion while still being close to all that Lake Tahoe has to offer. Our home is especially perfect for a multi-generational family gathering...with 5 bedrm 3 baths and a layout that lets kids play while adults have quiet time in a different area of the home...or everyone gets together at the table that easily seats 10 for wonderful family games and meals. If anyone has difficulties with stairs... you'll delighted with the nearly level entry into the house allows for easy access into the home. With a level driveway and only 5 steps to the entry through the garage.
Just a few steps from the back deck you will find miles of hiking, biking and snowmobile trails with spectacular, panoramic views of both the mountains and our beautiful Lake Tahoe. 3 miles to Stagecoach and Boulder lifts (Heavenly Ski Resort), the Tahoe Rim Trail, casinos, night clubs, concerts, restaurants, shopping, and beaches of Lake Tahoe. Take a short drive over the hill to the Carson Valley, and you will discover the historic town of Genoa with quaint shops, restaurants and golf courses.
The main level of the home is the star of the show with its beautiful open living room, with 17 large windows viewing the forest, gas fireplace, access to the large back deck, hot tub and the forest beyond. Also located on this level are a spacious, fully equipped kitchen, large dining area, a cozy sitting nook, 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, and laundry room. The master bedroom which is located on this level has a private
en-suite bathroom, a King bed and 42" television and direct access to the back deck.
Downstairs are 2 additional bedrooms, the 3rd full bath, a home theater, the 2nd kitchen, and 2nd laundry room. 2nd living room and home theater area is outfitted with a 70" HD-TV with DVD and THX surround sound, a ping pong table & peloton bike.
This unique home offers a serene and relaxing environment from which to explore all that Lake Tahoe has to offer.
Our "Tahome" is our pride and joy home and we'd love to share it with you, but please note PLEASE NOTE: NO NOISE discernable to neighbors after 10pm and 19 people maximum. For each person less than 30 yrs old, there must be two people 40yrs old. (Some exceptions). Parking for 3 cars (one in the garage, two in the driveway). In the winter you will need four wheel drive vehicles. Additional parking one block away at the Kingsbury North Trailhead.
OWNERS - Shari & Bob -we manage our Tahoe home ourselves and find meeting the prospective guest on zoom or facetime creates a personal connection and enhances both parties comfort and experience. When you inquire or request a booking, we'll give you instructions on how to directly connect with us. We've rented our home since we purchased it in 2011, and SO FAR WE HAVE MAINTAINED A FIVE STAR RATING FROM EVERY ONE OF OUR GUESTS! LOOK FORWARD TO VIRTUALLY MEETING YOU.
ABOUT US: Our primary home is a small place in San Francisco where we've lived for 40 years. We are both in our mid 70's, both retired, both athletic & healthy. Love to ski, hike, dance, bicycle. In 2011 we purchased and remodeled our home in Tahoe where we and live there 5 months a year, renting it out the other 7. Bob was a professor at the University of Michigan, then in 2000 an international education consultant helping countries develop schools that prepared their students for a high tech world. Shari was a commercial realtor for 1/2 of her 35 yrs in real estate, and a residential realtor for the 2nd half of her career. We are both extroverts, love people, good food, good wine and adventure.

We had a lovely weekend with family, We enjoyed the various amenities of the property. The property sits in a nice quiet neighborhood, such a beautiful cozy home with warm decor. Shari was very quick to respond to questions that we had during the stay. Couldn’t ask for more, we will definitely be back. 10/10 recommend!

10 family members gathered in Lake Tahoe, from Idaho and California to celebrate Bruce and Marsha’s 50th wedding anniversary. Lots of fun, laughter, stories, games, splashing in the hot tub and of course eating!!!!!! Making memories is the best. . .

This property was amazing for our anual snowboarding trip. House is extremely roomie and doesn’t feel like everyone is on top of each other. The host was very responsive whenever we had any minor issues or we couldn’t figure something out in the house. This place is just down the road from stage coach lift.definitely recommend this place!

My family and I loved our stay here. It was a winter wonderland for our holiday vacation. This is a charming and beautifully appointed home that is even more lovely than the pictures. The great room and fireplace were perfect, the bedrooms very comfortable, and our teens loved the basement entertainment and game room. Very close to Heavenly and just 5-6 minute drive to Lake Tahoe. Shari and Bob were gracious hosts and incredibly responsive. We would highly recommend this property.

Great place to stay while visiting Lake Tahoe. VERY convenient to The Stagecoach and Boulder Lodge areas of Heavenly. The house backs up to National Forest with beautiful views out the back windows.

The owners thought of everything. Not only is it a beautifully decorated, quality home, but it is well appointed with everything you could possibly need. It is located within walking distance to one of our favorite hiking trails. This is a great family home with lots of space for a big group. Everyone enjoyed the weekend.

This is not just a house. It is a beloved and well cared for home. Not only aesthetically beautiful but also warmly welcoming, comfortable, and clean. It’s exactly as pictured and described by the owners. We had a little difficulty upon arrival with the alarm, related to our own unfamiliarity with the system. Shari was immediately available and able to walk us through it in literally seconds. We also had to contact her shortly after arrival about the hot tub, but again Shari was able to quickly resolve our problem. After those two initial requests for help there was no need for further communication during our entire stay because everything was so thoughtfully planned out and explained in the book. Shari touched base with us to ensure we were enjoying our stay. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would need if you actually lived in the home. Not just the basics for casual use but all equipment and tools needed for preparing full meals for a group with ease and convenience. The house is great for almost any occasion but especially for any type of family gathering. The layout of the group spaces (kitchen, living room, deck, TV room) is perfect for clustering together in a group. It feels intimate and comfortable but still spacious.

Had a great time for 3 nights with life long friends. This house has everything you need and the owners are super friendly and very helpful. The location is ideal and the peacefulness of the area can't be overstated. The house is 3 blocks from major trail heads and 10-15 minutes from all the casino's. We barely left and are planning to stay again next year if it's available. That is a fairly significant statement for my group as we have stayed in roughly 16 houses over the last 25 years of annual trips. This is first house that I have had a consensus before the trip even ended. A couple more highlights: -The deck/hot tub area is amazing. You feel like you are alone in the world with the trees blowing in the wind. Wait until dark and turn on the string lights.....just perfect. -The beds were all noted (we didn't use the 5th room) as super comfortable (rare in my experience). -The kitchen was stocked with literally anything I could think of/needed. While this would seem like common sense/bare minimum, it is NOT. This house had it all covered! -The TV area is downstairs letting you split the vibe up (would be great for kids in my opinion). There is also ping pong table, both high end/cared for well. -Wifi/Cable excellent -Owners manual/tips very easy to follow and understand.

My friends and I came up for a weekend ski trip and had an incredible time! What stood out most about the house is that it is an actual home that people live in - not a soulless vacation rental property with cheap furniture, an unequipped kitchen, and intolerable beds. Quite the opposite, this home is well furnished with everything you need to have the perfect getaway - including a hot tub, entertainment center, and ping pong table. It is also located very close to the Nevada side of Heavenly, which made it the perfect ski house. I would highly recommend staying here!
