The amazing location and privacy of this property speaks for itself. Located just steps from Rock Creek you can put the coffee on, throw a line in, and have a fish on before your first cup.
Sitting on 3.5 acres, surrounded by USFS land, wetlands, a spring creek, and mountains, this is your own personal getaway! Whether you are a hard core angler, novice or porch lounger, this property will meet your every need. The stocked pond, located about 50 feet from the front porch, is perfect for young children to try their hand at fishing and fun for the expert to practice that new dry fly. A short hike gets you over to the spring creek to try your luck. And the famed blue ribbon trout stream called Rock Creek needs no description.
The cabin has three porches. The front porch tends to be sunny and looks out over the large yard and pond. The two back porches, one upstairs and one down, sit overlooking Rock Creek and tend to stay in the shade. Large windows allow constant views of the wildlife and surrounding mountains.
Downstairs holds a laundry/mud room, the open kitchen and family room complete with beautiful gas stove, smart TV and comfy furniture. The master bedroom with queen bed and full bath is also located on the first floor.
Climb upstairs to the loft and you may not want to come down after seeing the view from all directions. Two cozy queen beds set up next to the windows at either end of the loft let you wake up to the eagle flying down the creek, or watch deer out by the pond. There is also a bunk with queen mattress on bottom and twin on top plus a separate small bedroom with a twin bed. The second full bath is also upstairs and we provide two blow up mattresses if extra sleeping space is needed for large groups.
We stock the cabin with many conveniences ranging from basic spices, hand soap, laundry detergent and paper products to shampoo and hair dryers, allowing for lighter bags on those long flights and a faster stop at the market. Dish Network, internet, WiFi, and included long distance phone, keep you as connected to the world as you would like to be. We also happily supply a rolling cooler, plastic ware, guide recommendations, and local maps and brochures.
Rock Creek Meadows is about relaxing, enjoying your time together and making the most of your stay. We are here to help make that happen as we try and improve the Cabin and yard each year with our returning guests in mind.
Weddings and special events are allowed at owners discretion.
It is awesome!
Great communication from the owner, very nice property with all of the amenities you need to enjoy your stay.
Pictures cannot do justice for the beautiful cabin and location. We loved the cabin and were impressed with how cleaned and well stocked the home was. We instantly felt at home but still on a magical vacation. Views of the pond, stream, hills, pastures and wildlife were beyond enthralling. We look forward to returning soon. Thank you Aileen and Sharon for giving us the opportunity to experience Montana in this way. Creating memories that will last a lifetime. Forever grateful! Dara, Greg and puppers
Right on the Rock Creek as described. Aileen is very pleasant and easy to deal with. Highly recommend.
We absolutely loved the property. Online descriptions are accurate. We will definitely return.
Aileen provides an amazing MT experience! All amenities are provided and all we had to do was buy food and drinks at the store which is about 17 miles from the cabin. The property was only a few steps from the river and we caught lots of fish! Campfires each night and clear trails that run along the river providing beautiful scenery.
Place was perfect as always. Thank you again Aileen for having us. We will definitely be back!
Unbelievable property! This property is so amazing and so well taken care of! It is straight out of a movie. My husband and I were married on this property 10 years ago and have celebrated our five year and our 10 year anniversary here. Friends that join us can’t get over how amazing it is. The house is beautiful, clean and has so many amazing amenities that you have everything you need and more! Aileen is a dream to work with! We will be back, but I don’t think will be able to wait another five years. Thank you so much!
The cabin is an amazing getaway! We enjoyed the creek and pond sun up to sun down and loved seeing the deer and moose walk by the cabin in the morning. We can't wait to visit again!
What an amazing property! There is a view from every window and every direction. We didn't want to leave! Three generations of family met here to celebrate my sons graduation from high school. Nobody was successful with fishing but everyone had a great time! We saw so much wildlife...moose, deer, beavers, an eagle, and fish we couldn't catch! My favorite part was sitting on the back porch in the porch swing watching and listening to Rock Creek, which is more like a river than a creek. We had no idea how close it was to the cabin. It is literally feet from the back door. We slept with the windows open so the sound of the creek put us to sleep. So relaxing. Ailleen, you have an amazing cabin that is clean and stocked with everything you could ever need. We are already wanting to plan another trip out to your cabin next year!
We loved the property. Unfortunately Rock Creek was blown out during our stay, but nothing you can do about that. A storm came in on night #2 and deposited 2.5 of rain on top of the swollen creek. We spent the better part of 2 days inside the cabin watching the rain come down, but what a great place to have to spend time inside. The property was clean, cozy and the setting great. We would definitely come back here again.
5 of us old retired guys for a week fly fishing trip on 3 rivers around missoula- had planned on eating out most days, but kitchen area and grill were so good we stocked up on breakfast stuff and had steak/chicken/salmon for dinners very quiet place - host was perfect - called to see if we got in OK, and made sure we could call if any issues, which there were none if we come back, we will stay here again !
Stayed a few nights for annual Dad/Brothers/Brother-in-laws fly fishing trip. Couldn't have been better. Absolutely wonderful location right on the bank of Rock Creek, on a great stretch of the river. Amenities are great, anything you should need is provided.
This beautiful cabin is very comfortable and well appointed for all your needs. It's impossible to look in any direction and not see spectacular scenery. Our first morning while enjoying coffee on back porch swing watching Rock Creek roll by a bald eagle flew up the creek. There were deer and moose even what I think was wild horses. Truly a wonderful and peaceful vacation spot!!
Awesome place near Rock.Creek!
Wonderful properry. Owners are great, very accommedating. Home is perfect for a relaxing get away. View are absolutely gorgeous!
The exterior posts and railings are not stable and need to be replaced - not safe for handicapped visitors.
As always, we had a very good time. Looking forward to returning.
The house was equipped as stated. It was wonderful that we didnt have to worry about bringing the little things. Layout was great bed was comfy and a trout stream out the back door? Priceless! There were hooks outside to hold wet waders. And the flowers were such a sweet touch! We saw moose, deer and a bald eagle. I just do hope you can trap that little kitty! Thanks Aileen. It was a pleasure meeting you and Sharon. It was a wonderful relaxing vacation for Dave and I
Fish were jumping onto the porch! Great location and the home is very comfortable.
Would stay there again. So much wildlife to see. Quiet peaceful and very comfortable
We loved it and hope to return.
Thanks for another great week at Rock Creek Meadows. We'll see you next spring. Lisa and Dave.
Being trout fishers we tried the Clark Fork, Bitterroor, and Blackfoot rivers. Nada. Rock creek in back was the best producer of fun fishing! Owner was great to work with.
We returned...again....to Rock Creek this year, perfect timing as the wildfires had been diminished, and temperatures had cooled off. The owners as always were a pleasure to work with!!
This was our fourth year staying in this home for a guys fishing trip and we will definitely be back again. The setting is breathtaking and the fishing is phenomenal. Aileen and Joe are wonderful hosts and Sharon the caretaker is extremely helpful. This is the true authentic Montana experience!
We really enjoyed our stay, a beautiful setting and comfortable home with most everything you need for the weekend or longer stay.
See you again next Spring.
Everything about this rental was terrific...the location was amazing, kitchen well equipped, the trout stream right out the door. We celebrated my grandson's 1st birthday and mine of a certain age during the week. We were there in November and lucked out on the weather...warm enough to read a book out on the hammock in the afternoons. If you are looking for total relaxation in what my son promised as an epic Montana experience this is the place. Aileen was a pleasure to work with. Don't hesitate for a moment!
Had an amazing time at this house. Incredibly property, very beautiful. The house it self was very nice, in great shape, and had everything there we needed to make it a great weekend. Would definitely recommend and hope to make it back at some point!
This was our second stay at this Rock Creek property hosted by Aileen York. The house was well maintained, clean, and stocked with all of the essentials that we needed. The location of the property, immediately next to Rock Creek, provided the most relaxing setting for all. We enjoyed the moose eating in the pond in front of the property along with deer that traveled the meadow on a regular basis. Fishing was the primary focus of the visit along with meeting friends that we had not seen since our previous visit. The fishing was great, the catching slow, but that was expected with the hot weather. We can't say enough about Eileen and her focus to make us comfortable and insure we had all that we needed. This level of customer service is hard to find. We can surely recommend this to anyone who wants to be off the beaten path and in search of immediate relaxation. The Troutkateers
The cabin, location, wildlife and Aileen exceeded expectations. The description and pictures do not do this property justice. I have stayed throughout Montana and this cabin/property was the best. The cabin is absolutely beautiful and completely outfitted for any cooking or household need. We stayed 8 days with 6 men and were more then comfortable the whole stay. The fishing was good right out the back door and the location was perfect for a base camp to fish all of Rock Creek. The property was was secluded and quite with phenomenal views from the decks. We saw moose (daily), deer, eagles, elk and river otters. Aileen was great and made sure to answer any questions or meet any needs we had. You will not be disappointed with this cabin and property.
We really enjoyed our stay at this Rock Creek Property. It was a perfect meeting place for our family. The guys enjoyed the fishing, and with my son's raft they floated right by the back deck! We enjoyed the various wildlife, and the peace and quiet and privacy of the cabin. Aileen was very helpful to work with and had the kitchen well stocked with almost anything you would need. The boys are already talking about meeting here again next year. A great place to stay!
This was a wonderful place to stay. We couldn't have asked for anything more, thank you
My family and I stayed at Rock Creek Meadows over graduation weekend and had a great stay. The house is beautifully situated right on the creek and comfortably slept 11 guests. We really enjoyed the solitude and scenery. The house is well equipped with everything necessary for a big group. We cooked three meals a day and didn't find ourselves missing anything. We took a trip into Philipsburg for an afternoon, which was a nice and scenic drive. Thanks for the great stay!
Aileen, We had a great time at the Rock Creek cabin ! Very relaxing and peaceful.......the most enjoyable memories were the sessions of morning coffee and evening wine on the front deck ! Also, great recommendation on Renegade Fly Fishing Outfitters; although we missed the peak of the fishing season, Eric arranged for an all-day float on the Blackfoot where we hooked into some large cut-bows. In fact, our most memorable wildlife experience occurred while cruising the river; we had the unique opportunity to view a rare eagle aerial jousting display right in front of the boat. Fishing the upper reaches of Rock Creek proved to be successful as well where we landed several large browns. We'll definitely be back and are making plans to return for next fall. Nice visiting with you during your stay and hope you and Sergeant had a safe trip home. Thanks and will be in touch, Paul & Eva - Montgomery, TX
My father and I had talked about trying our hands at fly-fishing in Montana for over ten years before making the trip to Rock Creek in 2015. What a wonderful experience set in the majesty of the western Montana landscape and complemented by the luxurious accommodation and amenities provided by the owners of Rock Creek Meadows. The cabin was fabulously appointed and catered for everything we wanted, the fishing was fantastic and right on our doorstep (literally) and the local community were warm and welcoming. I would make special mention of the assistance we were provided by the owners of Rock Creek Meadows who went above and beyond to help us in planning our trip and putting us in touch with local businesses who would be of assistance to us in our pursuits. They were the perfect hosts which made their property an easy choice.
I don't want to tell anyone how great this cabin is, because I want it to be available for our next Montana visit. This is the place on Rock Creek for comfort and accessibility to the entire Creek. We have stayed here two years in a row and will certainly be back. Comfortable beds that can accommodate a large or small group. You will not be disappointed with this cabin.
Best cabin I have ever stayed in. Fishing was great and with wonderful views.
Very nice cabin, clean and enjoyable - lots of deer and eagles !! - Great local eating spot just down the road. Beautiful location
My friends and I spent a week here fishing and getting caught up on each others lives. We congregate in Montana on occasion and look forward to each trip. This trip was extra special as this property was simply the best. With Rock Creek a few feet off the back deck, beautiful scenery, and wildlife including moose, mule deer, whitetail deer, mountain goats, eagles, and tons of hummingbirds the entertainment was ongoing. The accommodations were first rate, comfortable, and the kitchen was very well stocked with all of the basics that you need and more. The privacy made it feel like we had our own slice of heaven. I do not hesitate a bit in recommending this property to others and would stay again if the opportunity arises. Representing The Troutkateers
My wife and i stayed at this property from 7/7/2015 to 7/10/2015, and having lived in the area and stayed at similar facilities on other rivers, we thought we knew what to expect. However we were wrong, the pictures and write ups don't give this property proper justice, and our expectations were completely blown away. The property itself is beautiful, very private, beautiful views, and is literally feet away from the river. The cabin was perfect, the kitchen was well stocked with all of the basics, the family room had nice comfortable seating with a flat screen tv, and all of the sleeping areas were very well done. The cabin has three decks, we would drink our morning coffee on the front deck, have an afternoon cocktail on the back deck over looking the river, and at night go upstairs to the top deck which had an unbelievable view of the river and the stars. In addition, the owners were very nice and more than responsive to any questions we had prior to our arrival, they were very helpful by providing us all of the information we needed to get to their property and once we arrived they went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We will be back, this property is a slice of heaven and it completely exceeded our expectations.
Beautiful cabin on Rock Creek! We stayed at the cabin over Thanksgiving weekend. Great kitchen for cooking our holiday dinner and a perfect way to spend time together. It was also nice to have TV/dish so we could watch some of the football bowl games as well. Great area for hiking and spending time outdoors. The cabin was set up perfect for our family with plenty of sleeping areas, plus to be able to bring our pet was a bonus too. We will definitely return!
Our first trip to Montana and after this-you bet we will be back. The owners are wonderful-the place is incredible and its literally ON the creek. Wonderful sounds of rushing water and star filled evenings. I wish we were there right now. We fished in 4 degree weather and went bird hunting back in Missoula. Killer antiquing and beer in town as well as real cool small town grocery store near the cabin.
Had the best time fly fishing with all 7 of my brothers and sisters. We all fit comfortably in this beautiful cabin feet from the river.
Great cabin in a great area of Western Montana. We were there in early September and the 5 of us caught lots of fish and took an opening morning whitetail. The cabin was very comfortable and handled our group with out any trouble. The kitchen is very well equipped and the information and entertainment system was a real plus. Our host were sincerely interested and helpful to insure that we all having a good time. We will be back!
Very nice private location immediately next to Rock Creek. Lots of wildlife (moose, bighorn sheep, deer, sage hen) Excellent river access and trout fishing. Dog friendly. Nicely maintained with gas grill and all amenities you will want or need. Would return again.
Couldn't have been in a better setting and the house was incredibly well-stocked. The river was pretty high, but the fishing was still great just down from the house. Love this place!
How do you truly describe an experience like this? Arrived Tuesday evening and left Saturday afternoon for a Thanksgiving getaway with my daughter (UM student) and my parents. Definitely not long enough. The owner was 110% accommodating. Even made sure we had a roasting pan for the Thanksgiving turkey! Very responsive and an overall wonderful experience with Aileen. The house iteself was better than home. Fully modern, totally equipped, and comfortable don't even begin to describe it. If anything, the pictures and the description don't even come close to doing it justice. Same goes for the surrouding beauty. If you are looking for a true Montana experience, this is the place. All the comforts of home, fishing out your back door, hiking and wildlife, and an absolutely picturesque setting. You will feel like you have been dropped into a postcard. Literally the only sound we heard was the river. We all agreed that this is a place we will come back to, but for a much longer stay. First class Montana getaway in every possible aspect, and only 45 minutes outside of Missoula. Truly amazing.
My two friends met me in Montana for a few days of relaxation and fishing. We had considered staying in a hotel in Missoula, but found this property on vrbo, and decided to take a chance on it sight unseen. My conversations and dealing with the owner Aileen were terrific, very helpful. I had grown up fishing on Rock Creek, and to be able to stay right next to the Creek in this beautiful cabin was a blessing, bringing back a lot of great memories. The property is far enough off of the main road to feel secluded. The pond on the property really is stocked with fish, fun to try to catch. The property is also large enough to give you plenty of room as well. The cabin is beautiful, very clean, and the owner has thoughtfully provided many items ahead of time for cooking, etc. Having a flat screen and cable TV for sports was pretty sweet! And the cabin wi-fi worked well, to be able to email when necessary. Cabin has plenty of room, tastefully decorated, very well kept up. Appliances are great, most are brand new. The porches on both sides of the cabin are REALLY nice. Rock Creek was fun to fish again, lots of places to access the Creek. This is a beautiful part of Montana, and only about 45 minutes from Missoula. I can't say enough about how nice a place this is, and how well the owners have done in creating a relaxing hideaway. We WILL be back!
Of all the many homes we have rented, worldwide, this was one of the best. The log home and location was everything and more than stated. Secluded, directly on one of the best trout fly fishing rivers in Montana. The log home was beautiful and felt like home. The owners have provided everything from awesome towels ( endless), designer ground coffee, wine glasses, everything and more than needed. The home was clean, lots of windows and decks with incredible views from every one. I had the chance to meet one of the owners who was really nice and helpful. My only negative is that I was only there for 3 days ! I am already in planning stage for a return visit for at least a week with friends. This is a perfect vacation rental for relaxation, yet only about a half hour from Missoula. With a complete modern excellent kitchen, and the awesome new large gas grill, I suggest grocery shopping for your stay, and never leaving the site. I give this rental 6 stars out of 5 !
