Relax on the deck or inside the screened in covered porch with the same view up and down the river.
Inside, you'll find exactly what you're looking for -- as this cabin offers a vintage feel with a modern twist.
Most of the cabin is adorned with wonderfully crafted natural wood paneling and carpeted. The kitchen is completely modern, new and fully equipped.
The beds are comfortable and the bedding is all new.
There is a private master bedroom with a queen bed, another large separate bedroom with queen and a new futon, and still another queen size sofa sleeper sits in the living room.

Enjoy 100 feet of river frontage and one of the best views on the river.
In the rainy season months, there's a fire pit to enjoy.
We are located in the preferred area, far from the highway and its all river sound -- nothing else.
We're also on the edge of the Willamette National Forest and The Three Sisters Wilderness area.

The steelhead and salmon runs are real. The trout are huge too. Get a guide or ask Jonathan where to fish from the shore.

Make sure you see Sahalie Falls, Koosah Falls, and Tamolitch Falls (The Blue Pool) -- all just 20 minutes from the cabin.
Cougar and Blue River Reservoirs are located with 15 minutes of the cabin.
Make sure you see the lava flows of the Old Pass 242 in the summer months. Look up Dee Wright Observatory.
There are three wonderful restaurants within 3 miles and a great little store with gas and diesel available too.
The Mckenzie General Store and Obsidian Grill offer live music twice a week in the summer months and every so often in the off season. -- check them out for sure!

We could not have been any happier with this cabin!!! It was extremely clean well stocked with all you need!!! Outside was just perfect with the rushing river!!! Super comfortable and cozy!!! Lots do nearby.. fabulous trip!!!
Fun, rustic fishing cabin right on a whitewater section of the beautiful McKenzie river. Terrific location for exploring the many hiking trails. Wish we could have stayed longer, it’s a magical place to leave your cares behind and relax.
Great cabin to visit right on the river. Very clean and ready to enjoy. Helpful host. Will book again next time we come to the area.
The cabin was wonderful! Beautiful setting, relaxing, clean and the name says it all!
The sound of the river at the cabin was a great amenity!
Absolutely great cabin. Magnificent spot overlooking white water McKenzie river. Traditional mountain decore with modern updated kitchen. For us, perfect stay, thank you.
Great setting! Beautiful.
Our family of five had a great time at the house. It was as described and pictures are accurate. They are not trying to be a five star hotel with luxury accommodations. It was clean and comfortable. We found it relaxing eating on the porch listening to the river. Beautiful hikes all within a half hour from cottage. Cell service gets spotty after leaving the house so plan your outings while still at the cottage. One thing to consider before arriving if you plan to cook meals, you may want to buy groceries at a major grocery store closer to the interstate. Little marts close by but not ideal for longer stays.
such a cozy home with amazing views our group of four had a lovely time and were able to cook and clean around the house easily! the river is way too dangerous to get in but there were many accessible places to swim nearby the only problem we had was little grilling tools and most of the lights were bright blue white lights and the coziness is sorta taken away with corporate lighting but the few lamps with soft lighting made the place so nice and cozy at night!! I would definitely come back to this place in the future!!
Woodsy riverside property and cozy.
Nice house with a great view of the river. Clean and well stocked. Had a great time.
We booked the cabin at the last minute, and then needed to adjust the reservation by a day; the owner was very accommodating. The front bedroom seemed cold until we realized it has its' own heating unit. Everything was comfortable and clean. We intended to hike fire roads, but many were still snowed in- fortunately Terwilliger Hot springs was open. I would definitely consider booking this place again.
My family and I came here to celebrate my husband's birthday. It was perfect for the four of us! The cabin was clean and cozy. As one review noted, this cabin in RUSTIC. It's not all shiny and modern like other properties, but you can tell it was built with and quality materials and detail. I always expect a musty odor with older homes, but this place smelled good. The kitchen and dining area is pretty small, so the limit of 4 people is right on target. Our favorite things about this property are: -The screened in porch. I spent most of my time snuggled up in a warm blanket watching the river flow by. The lounger is really comfortable. -The view! -Privacy. There are neighbors on both sides and across the river, but you are somewhat hidden in the trees so it felt very private, especially in the screen porch. It's also set back from the road which is nice. -The bedding is amazing! -The livingroom furniture is comfy. We spent a lot of time playing games on the large expandable coffee table. -The fire pit! Who doesn't love a warm campfire? -It's close to a little general store and gas station, handy for grabbing those forgotten items. A couple drawbacks: -If you want to cook, I would suggest bringing all the items you will need for what you are making. There are limited cooking utensils ( we needed a whisk), and no baking dishes. We brought some disposable containers so it worked out well. Also, the oven seems to run a little under temperature. -There was no bodywash in the bathroom, and I forgot to bring any. We wound up using hand soap. -The dishwasher is tiny! With a family of 4 eating 3 meals and some snacking, we ran the dishwasher 3 times on the full day we were there. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property for a couple or small family wanting a peaceful getaway!
This is a very nice property located right on the McKenzie River. The deck truly is looking over the River. Not fancy, but you’re here for the beautiful views! Thanks for sharing your cabin. Josh & Kelly
If you want a serene river front spot to chill out and decompress. This is a great spot.
We really enjoyed the river view from the deck and screened porch, and we spent much time just watching the river tumble and flow through the rapids. The deck view was worth the stay! The cabin itself is clean, cozy, and comfortable, with a newly remodeled kitchen that's well-stocked with dishes and cookware. This is a historic cabin, and the rustic feel may not be right for everyone--but it was perfect for us. (We loved the handcrafted wooden details in the rooms, but if you run cold, bring slippers and an extra layer. The cabin is shaded by tall trees.) The nearby McKenzie Bridge General Store (restaurant) offered excellent meals, and we also used the Blue Sky Market to supplement our groceries. The cabin is easy driving distance to some incredible hiking trails and waterfalls, as well as a historic covered bridge. We'd love to stay here again.
Very nice house and stay. Clean with nice amenities.
This rustic/rural property had a superb view of rapids in the McKenzie River, with forest on the other side and trees around the house Furnishings were not elegant, but comfortable, functional and cleaned. The description was accurate, so we know what we were getting, and it was what we has been looking for. Nearby businesses are limited to a few informal cafes/country markets. An ideal place for people who appreciate this kind of setting (we do!), but those seeking elegance or a setting with more amenities might look elsewhere.
The cabin is excellent-extremely clean and comfortable. Beautiful woodwork and historic touches. Beds are very comfortable and linens are good quality. The hosts are very responsive and professional. The location is great, close golf, hikes, to a couple restaurants and general store that has pretty much what you need. But honestly you won't want to leave the deck! There is a covered screened in porch so that you can enjoy the amazing river views even if its raining. I would suggest throwing some basic spices in if you plan on cooking. The kitchen is very well appointed and the grill works great, but if you were to cook the spice cabinet is limited.
