Relax in our secluded, romantic, comfortable and well equipped 2 BR log cabin located high (2600 ft) atop Renegade Mountain in Crossville, TN. Located 100 miles east of Nashville, 60 miles west of Knoxville, and 60 miles northwest of Chattanooga, we are centrally located for many major vacation destinations in the Southeast. Located just 5 miles off of I-40, you are only minutes away from Crossville, Fairfield Glade, Lake Tansi, Cumberland Mountain State Park, Bear Trace, more than 15 great public golf courses, state parks, wineries, and antique and specialty stores in the Crossville area. Walking trails abound just outside our front and back doors. Do a lot, or do nothing. Either way you will love our cabin and our location.
This is a non-smoking cabin. Pets are welcome if they are well behaved, up to date on all shots and medicines, and certified flea free. Unruly pets will be fed to the local bears.
The doors have combination locks, so check-in simply consists of arriving and entering, regardless of the hour (after 4:00 PM). Normal checkout time is 10:00 AM. There are two steps from the parking area to the porch and one step from the porch into the cabin. There is one step down from the cabin to the rear porch and six steps down from the rear porch to the ground. The cabin is NOT considered handicap accessible. Our 2 BR, 2 bath cabin has a well furnished kitchen with a gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, a kitchen bar for dining, and a cozy, comfortable den with fireplace, gas logs, and 46' flat screen TV..
The rear porch runs the full width of the house with a magnificent view of the former Renegade Mountain Golf Course and nearby Black Mountain during every season of the year (except when the clouds roll in and visibility goes to zero). The windows and doors are screened, although bugs are few and far between at the top of the mountain. Even on the hottest days air conditioning is rarely needed, but available for guests having hot flashes.
The open front porch overlooks the driveway and parking area. You can sit in your rocking chair and count the cars that go by in a day in between naps, Normally this will not require using all of your fingers, and never requires all of your fingers and toes.
There is one roomy bedroom with a queen bed on the main floor of the cabin and a second, larger bedroom with a king bed upstairs. Each BR has an adjoining full bath. There is also a loft area overlooking the den that can sleep 2 additional guests if necessary.
We also offer a full sized washer and dryer so you can have clean clothes even if you forgot your suitcase.
The cabin has central heat and cooling, so you will always be comfortable. The unit is rarely needed in the summertime, since temperatures on the top of Renegade Mountain are generally at least 10-15 degrees cooler than in Nashville, Knoxville, or Chattanooga, and the humidity is also much lower. Just open the doors and windows and enjoy the cool mountain air.
For the technically oriented guest and/or the workaholic who needs to stay connected at all times, our chalet has high speed wireless Internet, a computer, and multi-function printer, The den has a 46' LCD TV with surround sound and each BR has a 32' TV. All TV's have a separate DVD player. Telephone service (VOIP), including free long distance, is provided. (Cell phone service, especially AT&T;, is not good on Renegade Mountain.) The computer has over 8000 songs cataloged in i-Tunes play lists for your enjoyment.Genres include classical, pop, instrumental, 50's, 60's. 70's - 90's and country. If you like head banging music, bring your own - we don't have any.
Our location allows you to spend pleasant spring, summer, and fall days on our large, open, shaded rear porch reading, resting, or meditating while listening to the sounds of nature and watching the deer in the former fairway behind the cabin . For sore muscles or tired feet, our very private 8 person hot tub offers great therapy under the stars.
The log cabin is very well landscaped with rock features and native plants and shrubs, especially in the rear where you can sit under the trees and gaze at a serene view of the old golf course and adjacent Black Mountain, home of the Cumberland Trail State Park. Swing in one of the old lift chairs from the former Renegade Mountain Ski Resort as you take in the magnificent view. At night you can roast marshmallows and make Smore's around the fire pit. Live high at 2600 ft in our cabin in the clouds.
Our cabin is within 30 miles of at least 10 excellent public golf courses (Crossville is the 'Golf Capital of Tennessee'). We can provide guest passes that offer reduced rates at the five Fairfield Glade courses, as well as access to all other Fairfield Glade activities. Pigeon Forge and Dollywood are 1 1/2 hours away and you do not have to spend the night with 30,000 of your new best friends after your day trip.
Have a 4-wheeler? The are plenty of trails in the area to keep you entertained. Bring a GPS, because there are 10,000 acres to get lost in.
During your drive up the mountain to the cabin, and from our porches once you arrive, expect to see deer, wild turkeys, an occasional bear, and numerous squirrels, birds, and other assorted mountain critters. The only thing that isn't wild is the living. Come often - every season is a different adventure at our cabin in the clouds.
The rental property was very clean and provided us with a relaxing and tranquil escape. The cabin had all the amenities one might need. The trails provided a fun hiking experience.
The cabin and the view at the cabin was fantastic! We really enjoyed our stay. John was very thorough with the directions and things to do. Highly recommend!
We highly recommend this cozy cabin! We stayed with our two children (1 yr and 5 yrs) and had an excellent and relaxing stay in TN—there was plenty of room inside the house for all four of us. The house is clean, updated, and well-appointed. Fantastic property with a spacious backyard and great views from the back porch. We really appreciated the washer/dryer since we were travelling with children. Comfortable beds. Reliable electricity even during a hellacious rain storm. Wi-fi is very strong throughout the house but Verizon reception is limited on the mountain (this is mentioned in the description). Secluded on Renegade Mountain, but there are a few neighboring homes on the road (we met one neighbors across the street and he was very helpful with some area recommendations). Everything detailed in the description of the property is accurate, but the pictures don't do it justice. We were able to meet the hosts during our stay, and they were very friendly, accommodating, and thoughtful—thank you for the cantaloupe and the great stay!
This cabin sits at 2500 feet elevation with beautiful views and comfortable quiet surroundings. Owner was very informative with directions and information. We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks for having us!
Perfect place to get away from the hassle of city living. Peaceful environment and beautiful views.
We needed a break from busy life and wanted to get away safely. This property gave us exactly what we needed. We enjoyed the scenery from the hot tub out back, traveled short distances to great hiking spots, which we had practically to ourselves and we were able to bring the kids and dogs with us! It was a great place to stay and we’ll definitely stay again if we are in the area.
The cabin was exactly what we expected based on the listing. It gave us the warm and fuzzies as soon as we drive up. The property owner and managers were incredibly friendly and responsive to our needs. We hope we have the opportunity to stay again one day.
Very easy process with a very helpful owner. Provided an extremely well supplied cabin in a beautiful location.
This was my first time renting a house as I usually stay in hotels. I was afraid I wouldn't feel at home but I was wrong. The cabin was clean and had everything I needed for my stay. I'm so glad I took a chance at the cabin and hope to go back.
This was the second year we stayed and it is AWESOME. The property was clean and welcoming. We had a beautiful Christmas get away with our grandkids! Great place to come get peace and quiet- roast marshmallows and enjoy family
We spent the week relaxing at the Crab Orchard cabin and would highly recommend anyone looking to ‘getaway while also being not too far out of town’ to do the same. The cabin has all the amenities of home and the abandoned golf course was perfect for walks with our daughter in a stroller. The views from the back porch and hot tub are unmatched. The cabin has that perfect ‘cabin feel’ and the gas fireplace makes it even cozier.
Would recommend cabin. Owner was responsive and cabin was fairly represented.
Awesome place, real cozy. Very quiet place and walking out the back door and accessing a closed golf course to hike around the mountain on paved golf cart paths is a huge bonus. Already planning our second trip!
Nicely secluded. A beautiful spot to get away and enjoy time together.
We had the best time. Everything was clean and ready for us when we checked in. We will definitely stay here again. We will recommend you to our friends and family.
Beautiful little cabin in the woods !
Beautiful, cozy wooden cabin high atop Renegade Mountain in the Crossville area. We travel to the area to play golf and always try to stay at this cabin. We love the peacefulness, isolation & amenities. We will be back again!
We enjoyed our stay in this cabin. The weather was great at the top and cool for July. It was a peaceful place to sit and read, and we enjoyed walking the roads and trails. The property itself was a nice house (more than a cabin). Extra amenities like the gas grill and washer/dryer were very useful. The only downside to the property is also its strength: you are REALLY away from it all. There are neighbors up there, but it's a pretty long drive to anything else you might want to do in the area. However, if you're looking for a place to get away from it all, this might be the spot for you.
For anyone looking to find something to do and somewhere to stay with family or friends. This location and place was amazing. The property manager was on par (more like a great caddy to a golfer) he was responsive, suggested great places, their property was overall great. We spent the week going to forest preserves, hiking, boating and other outdoor activities. Amenities were great, hot tub was clean and relaxing and we will definitely go back. I would suggest this place to anyone.
FIVE STARS all around. GREAT place and view. Highly recommend this place. We'll be back just not soon enough. Thanks John Brook and Kathleen
The cabin is clean and has everything you need while visiting. The view from the back porch is wonderful- beautiful sunsets and very quiet. Definitely a place to go and relax- especially for us during the pandemic!
I come to Crossville several times a year for dog shows. I always stay here if it is available. It is always clean and comfortable. Any problems that have popped up when I was staying have been taken care of as soon as I mentioned them. The cabin has a good view of the mountains.
Cabin was clean and exactly what it says it is
What an amazing and peaceful escape this cabin in the woods was for our little family during the lockdown. Our 7-day trip turned into a 3-week adventure and we absolutely loved it. It was just what we needed. So much beautiful scenery and waking up to sunrises and watching the sunset from the back porch hot tub was amazing and magical. Each day we hiked, fished, explored and ventured into the old golf course and found waterfalls. We enjoyed fires outside by the fire pit with s’mores and tree-hugging and indoor fires in the fireplace! We grilled out on the back porch grill and indoors in the spacious kitchen. We had more space than the two of us needed with the upstairs bedroom, bathroom and living area space looking down into the living area and kitchen downstairs. There was another bedroom and bathroom downstairs complete with a laundry area which came in handy since we extended our stay. Neighbors and the owner were very friendly and informative and gave us great places to hike and fish. We so enjoyed our stay and will be back soon!
We had a wonderful stay at Raven's Cabin. It was centrally located for all the activities we had planned: fishing, hiking, relaxing, exploring. We enjoyed the hot tub in the rain and the quietness of the cabin was a perfect fit for us. Truly a great experience.
It is exactly as advertised. My Husband and our little dog had so much fun hiking, sitting by the fire place and of course the hot tub was perfect. We grilled out for New Years Day. I enjoyed the swing in the back yard. The view was awesome..
Excellent accommodations for what we were looking for. Beautiful setting for a family Christmas in the mountains. Quiet, private, scenic setting that had all the accommodations that we needed and wanted. Can’t wait for next year.
The Raven’s nest was excellent! We arrived and the place was decorated for the season. John was awesome and very responsive to our questions. We are already planning a summer vacation schedule for the Racen’s best!
The cabin and grounds were perfect. The view from the back deck was beautiful and great for watching sunsets. The owners, John and Melanie, were very nice and were very responsive to any questions we had about the area. Their dogs and our dog got along great. We are looking forward to staying there again. We highly recommend this cabin.
we loved staying in this cabin. It was clean and wonderful mountain views. The sunrise and sunset were breath taking. Had little problem in fireplace, but call to Jeanne and Gary, the people that maintain the cabin, and problem was solved. Recommend it to anyone that would love to stay in quiet mountains and no traffic.
This is just a wonderful cabin! We’ve stayed in so many but this is the first time my husband has repeatedly said “we need to come back here”! We really enjoyed sitting on the back porch reading, relaxing in the hot tub and just listening to birds and wind in the trees. We had all we needed to cook a few meals and slept soundly in the King sized bed. While there are other homes nearby, it felt very private. Communication from the owner was very helpful. I almost hate to recommend it so highly because I don’t want it booked all the time! Can’t wait to come again!
We came up to Ravens Nest to escape for a couple of days. Mission accomplished. We are “local” but needed the girl time. A lovely setting with an amazing sunset. Thanks John!
We fell in love with this property! We absolutely will be back!
Our second time staying at this property and we still love it! The cabin was nice and clean. The view is beautiful. It's easy to find and not far from town. We would definitely recommend this property.
Overall, it was a good stay. Fairly clean. If you drive a fullsize truck (4 door etc) i recommend backing in from road. Very thorough instructions and detailed communication.
This was a fabulous property with a beautiful view of the sunset. It was a little remote for our purposes as we were attending a camp reunion which was about 40 minutes away. I had thought it was just off I -40 when booking. Everything other than the distance and potholes in the 3 mile drive up mountain were great!
Great cabin well thought out clean and comfortable view and quiet can not be beat and John was easy to work with 15 minutes off the highway and you get a totally different and incredibly nicer experience we would highly recommend it and will return
Amazing and secluded find. Plenty of areas to sleep, grill, hot tub, and fire pit in the back. Highly recommended for a relaxing get away. Closest grocery store is 30 mins away so plan accordingly.
We had a wonderful time staying in the cabin. Great location and very comfortable with everything you need to enjoy a nice getaway. Awesome views and place!
This was a nice cabin to meet my son half way for Easter weekend. Really appreciated that it was pet friendly so we could bring our dog. Weather was no good, so we enjoyed the nice selection of dvds and spent our time watching movies, enjoying the hot tub and playing games. The kitchen was well-equipped so we never had to leave the cabin. The living room is very small, so we all actually went into the large bedroom upstairs to watch movies together. It has a loveseat and a king sized be so it was more comfy!
Crab orchard is a beautiful place to get away and relax. The cabin was beautiful and we loved sitting on the back porch with our morning coffee, as well as taking long walks each day. Thanks so much for your hospitality and introducing us to this lovely area of Tennessee!
Stayed at the cabin with my father and two stepbrothers -- a guy trip for my dad's 75th. Grilled out, sat on the back porch, and watched the NCAA tournament. We're car nuts, so drove the Devil's Triangle of mountain switchbacks not far away. Cabin was plenty spacious and comfortable for 4 men. There were 3 beds, so one of us slept on the sofa, which worked out fine. Everything we needed was provided, and we had no trouble at all with anything. I would gladly stay there again, and recommend it to anyone thinking of staying in the area. Great trip! Many thanks, Jeff
We had a great time catching up. Quiet and secluded. A little early for spring. Enjoyed the hot tub. Beautiful cabin. Only had issues with the gas fireplace and TV remotes.
Very clean and charming cabin.
Absolutely loved our time at Ravens View. It's the perfect place for two couples. We had everything we needed---an immaculately clean cabin, quiet surroundings, comfortable beds, a warm fireplace, a spectacular view, and a beautiful drive. The only problem we had was time moving too quickly! We just wanted to stay much longer than our schedules allowed. We hope to return. Thanks too for the guest passes to golf at Fairfield! They were put to good use!! We highly recommend staying here!
This place is awesome!!!!!! We stayed 5 nights and enjoyed everyone of them. The drive up the mountain was awesome and full of wildlife. The house was very clean and well stocked. We met the owners and they were very nice and extremely helpful. I would stay again anytime.
We stayed a couple of nights while doing the 127 Yardsale. It was a great place to return to after a couple long, hot days of seeking deals. :o) Quiet and cozy. Perfect for an evening of relaxation!
I rented John's place to go to a family anniversary party nearby in Crossville. I could not have been happier! I was pleasantly surprised to see that everything was just PERFECT and better than what I expected from the pictures! From the updated kitchen to the bathrooms, everything was very clean, well equipped and beautifully decorated in Northwoods/Cabin décor. I loved the firepit and the view of the evening sunsets were spectacular! Excellent location: tucked away in a very private wooded area of a small community, it was not difficult to get to I-40 to go to a restaurant or store for provisions. I highly recommend planning a trip to the Cumberland State park where they have a plenty of picnic areas and hiking trails to enjoy. Ozone Falls is also a great trip to see. John's cabin is a place where great memories are made; I will definitely book again. Fondly submitted by Judy and Karl
We absolutely loved our stay! It was so peaceful and relaxing. The views are amazing! We loved being able to go to ozone falls which was only a few mins away. Would definitely recommend staying here.
The cabin was wonderful. Everything you need is there! The kitchen is updated. Plenty of towels. Comfortable beds. Beautiful views. We had no complaints and would love to go back!
This cabin was perfect for our week in Tennessee. It is within driving distance to numerous hiking/sightseeing locations. The cabin is stocked with everything you need. The backyard was our favorite part - grill, fire pit, rocking chairs, fireflies, and a spectacular view!
This was the PERFECT Mountain cabin. Quiet.. peaceful with the most amazing view! It was a wonderful week
Our stay was everything we hoped for. The cabin was charming and pretty private. Loved the view off back porch. My husband and I stayed here comfortably with another couple. Our primary reason for trip was to do some hiking. Ozone falls literally right down road was breath taking. Then we traveled a little further out to Falls Creek Falls. Really enjoyed this area and different hiking options. Overall this cabin is an excellent “get away” spot
The cabin was very clean, easy to get to and nicely decorated. The view was so nice. Cozy and relaxing. The hot tub off the back porch was wonderful. Such a relaxing quiet private place to stay- back porch was wonderful to sit and visit. Linens were very nice. Tvs with viewing options in every room. Nice little porch swing in the back yard .. . along with a surprise !
We loved our stay here at John's place. Although there were initially some wasps in the house, as soon as we contacted John, he immediately came over and took care of it. The hot tub was perfect for evening sunsets and it really felt like you were away from the world. The cabin was perfectly sized for 5-6 people and had everything you needed. Overall, great weekend in the mountains!
The cabin is adorable and has everything for a great weekend!
My family of 6 adults enjoyed our stay in this nice cabin. The scenery in the back of the cabin was lovely and the hot tub/fire pit were real treats. The size of the cabin was a bit tight for 6 adults - would better suit 4 adults. There was no room for a dining table/game or card table which would have been nice for our family. The kitchen, bedrooms, fireplace, etc. were nice. The upstairs shower could use some updating as you could not get in it without spraying water all over the bathroom floor unless you wanted to get inside and have a cold shower for a few minutes first while the water warmed up. The manager was attentive to our needs (had a little trouble getting the indoor gas fireplace going). The supply of wood for the outdoor fire pit was greatly appreciated.
The cabin was very clean, neat and well taken care of. We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and the view. The back porch, hot tub and property were all pluses. Will most definitely look into staying there again.
The cabin was just the right size for 4-5 people. Beds were comfortable. It was well appointed with all the necessities for cooking. Great bath linens. Cozy decor. We spent a good deal of time on the back deck which had beautiful views of Renegade Mountain. At night, there was very little light pollution, so the star gazing was spectacular - especially while sitting in the hot tub. It was interesting to learn of the history and see old photos of of the mountain, which was available on the cabin computer. We took hikes around the area and saw some fabulous sunsets. We went into Crossville several times to explore and have dinners. Some really good restaurants. The people were very helpful and friendly. The only issue is that the soap for showering was too small and we had to buy a larger bar. No shampoo. No indoor table to play cards. There is a bench that works for meals indoors and a table on the deck which can be used to play games. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely come back.
Loved the property. Really cute. Would be 5 stars but had a couple issues that were taken care of quickly by the property owner but did affect our overall stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It is very quiet and peaceful, not too far from town. They had by far the best house service we have ever received when vacationing. They made sure to overstock on everything from toilet paper to towels. When we got home on Sunday evening the water was out ( we were told up front there was always a possibility since we were on top of the mountain) because a condo down the road had caught on fire. We called the housekeepers and they were quick to see what was going on and kept us informed about when it would come back on and even stopped by to check on us and see if we needed anything before we left.
We love this place so much we plan on coming back often. The views were breathtaking! Can't wait to see what it's like in the winter.
Arrived at your mountain paradise and thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay. All the areas of the cabin were clean and easily used. The hot tub was a pleasant addition after our daily excursions on the 127 Yard Sale route. We utilized the kitchen and laundry. The nightly chorus of tree frogs was a delightful surprise. The rockers helped us relax each evening. The back left burner on the range would not reach a high heat to boil eggs, but the remaining burners worked perfectly well. This peaceful mountain home comes highly recommended by us. Thank you for sharing it with us!
We were looking for a place to unplug and enjoy nature, and this cabin was the perfect fit. Just a short drive to Fall Creek Falls, but Ozone Falls right down the street is equally impressive. The cabin was everything we were looking for and more, and family evenings in the hot tub were the best. We look forward to making a return trip.
Was a beautiful place that made you feel at home! Had the best sleep ever on their super soft beds. Great place to unwind and relax! Will definitely keep this place in mind when returning to crossvile. Just hope it's not booked! !!
House was great. Great place for our honeymoon. Very clean and great amenities. Good location for area attractions. Will definitely stay there again. Thank you!!
It was so great, our kids had so much fun spending time with their cousins at the cabin. It was cozy and well equipped with everything.
My wife and I were looking for a quick getaway somewhere quiet and relaxing. We found it with this property. During the day I wanted to.play golf and she wanted to hike, this is the perfect location. I played Bear trace one day and the other day we went hiking on the many trails in the area. At night we relaxed in this quiet getaway on top of renegade mountain.
The property was beautiful. ...the old golf course looked like a rolling meadow. The cabin had a great view and the kitchen was set up with everything you need to create any dinner.
This cabin and this location were both just enchanting. The cabin is beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. The view from the back porch makes you feel like your sitting on top of the world. The owner was helpful, informative, responsive, and - based on his emails - seems to have a terrific sense of humor. Wish we could have met him. Loved our stay!
My wife and I just wanted to get away for four days and relax before the start of a new year and we certainly found it. We would highly recommend this cabin not only for the beautiful sunsets but for the thoughtful amenities this owner provides. A tastefully decorated, clean and modern cabin that is topped off by the most comfortable beds. We will definitely revisit this cabin again. Bob and India S. Florida.
We stayed as a girl weekend getaway. We found all the comforts of home. The cabin was warm and inviting, yet modern and convenient. We definitely plan to visit again soon.
Very cozy cabin. Large kitchen, great because we like to cook. Big back porch with plenty of chairs and spectacular view of the sunsets. Hot tub to start the morning then again after golf to relax. Love the grill tapped into gas line, never have to worry about empty tanks. Beds very comfortable. TV's large and HD. I highly recommend this property and plan on visiting it again in the future.
This experience was lovely- quiet, elegant, and peaceful, with overtones of majesty. The cabin was comfortably excellent for 4 people, included the (now-obligatory) Keurig and amenities willing to make a mere rental a home. Views from the porch- breathtaking mountains, valleys, sunsets, wildife (ie: deer on the abandoned gold course fairways and cart paths!) all contributed to an enjoyable stay..
The cabin is beautiful, peaceful. Definitely a place to go and relax and in joy family time. Definitely would go back.
The Cabin exceeded our expectations. The pictures on-line do not do it justice. The Cabin was absolutely perfect for our ten day stay. It had everything we needed and more. The views from the back porch were breathtaking. We enjoyed our coffee on the back porch every morning. We were never at a loss finding a new path to walk each day. We enjoyed the hot tub after each round of golf we played. (the reduced greens fees at Fairfield Glade were greatly appreciated) We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Forte's on the Square in Crossville. We highly recommend the Grouper. Had great barbeque at Big Boy's and to die for pie at the Sister's Café. We enjoyed touring the Homestead Tower and House Museum. We found the history to be quite interesting. Love the area!!!!We would not hesitate to rent this cabin again if we return to the Cumberland Plateau. Thank you for sharing your treasure with us.
Great owners. Great cabin. Great view. Super quite.
Enjoyed your home very much. Loved the location. Loved sitting on the back porch and looking at the mountains. Relaxed in spa and we did make s'mores. Kids loved it. I read the history of the resort. I would have loved to seen it when it was a ski resort. Disappointed that the pool was not open. Overall greatly enjoyed our stay
We stayed at the RavensNest cabin from 6/12/16 - 6/19/16, and we enjoyed every second we were there! The cabin is well-decorated and comfortable. Perhaps our favorite part of the entire week was the back porch. There is a great view of an old golf course and of far-away mountains to enjoy. Each morning we would enjoy the gentle cool breezes as we enjoyed the view, rocked in the rocking chairs, and watched the birds. We enjoyed the back porch view also in the evenings as the sun set and the bull-frogs started their nightly chorus from the nearby pond. We also enjoyed the hot tub on the back porch -- especially on those relatively cool evenings (the temperature got down to 65F or so on a few of the evenings!). There are plenty of nice televisions in the major rooms of the house, all connected to Direct TV. The kitchen is really nice, and we enjoyed cooking a few of our meals in the cabin -- and on the propane grill on the back porch. The Queen-sized bed in the downstairs bedroom, and the King-size bed in the upstairs bedroom were both comfortable. We enjoyed the computer with the sound-system -- although it took a little figuring out at first. The owner was helpful in answering my questions in a timely way whenever I had a question about anything. We enjoyed some of the local things to do in the Crossville area... we went to the Minister's Treehouse (amazing!!! Google it!), Ozone Falls, Homesteads museum, and even drove down to Fall Creek Falls one day. We had fun hiking some of the paths behind the cabin. We enjoyed Manny & Isabella's (Italian), Cracker Barrel (country), Cancun (Mexican), and other local eating places. Overall, it was a fantastic and relaxing week, and we had a great time!
My husband and I were in desperate need of a getaway to unwind and reconnect. The Ravens Nest was beyond perfect. Perched at the top of a long winding road and nestled into the trees, it looked so cozy. When you step into the home, it was such an ahhhh moment. First, the home is decorated and furnished beautifully. The layout is great with a bedroom and full bath with a fantastic shower as well as laundry and pantry. The kitchen overlooks the living area which opens up where you can take the stairs to a loft area or another bathroom and the master bedroom with a huge bed and great sitting area. I personally spent a good deal of time in the oversized chair and ottoman reading before bedtime. The TVs, computer, wi-fi and electronics were amazing. We enjoyed the large hot tub each night serenaded by the frogs from a pond down the hill. The back porch is where we spent most of our time. The view of the meadow area and far away hills was gorgeous. While we didn't see any wildlife beyond birds and bugs, we enjoyed the peacefulness of the location tremendously. Sitting in the rocker and watching the hummingbirds at the feeder was just what we needed!! The owners are very thorough and responsive and we had no issues. Perfection!! We will definitely be back. Thank you so much!!
Me and my wife have rented many different places in Tennessee and this one is by far the most relaxing place to be. The area is quiet and we watched wildlife all the time. The drive to the many area attractions is very easy to do. We even drove to Lynchburg to go to Jack Daniels 150 celebration. Rock city and the incline rail are also just a modest drive. Cookeville about 50 min drive has all you may want do in eating and shopping. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this to everybody. The drive up the mountain is very easy and enjoyable. Parking was a snap even with my full size Silverado. Go and enjoy yourself.
When we arrived at the cabin, I was completely floored by the amenities. From satellite television to laundry accommodations and everything in between- this place has it all and gave the feeling of a home away from home. The location of the cabin, nestled on the mountain top gave great views and allowed total privacy on either the front deck or enjoying the back deck w/hot tub. I will be recommending this cabin stay to all my friends, and my wife is already hinting of a return trip early this summer. If you are looking to unwind without sacrificing any of the comforts of home, I would definitely recommend this property. Sincerely, Dave, Wendy, children, and our dog Allie
This place is nice. It is clean and well furnished with high end furniture. Our dogs loved the place. They did not focus on any areas where other dogs had been there before,so it was clean. I would recommend this place to friends and family with or without dogs.
We enjoyed our stay in this cozy cabin; beautiful views-especially sunsets; easily accommodates 4 adults.
The area is simply gorgeous with spectacular views. The cabin is superb with an excellent layout. It is furnished with everything you will need with the exception of your personals of course. The area has so many things to do for all ages. The wifi wasnt to realiable but the owner is working to resolve that but hey, your trying to get away from it all anyway so it wasnt a big deal. I would without hesitation recommend this property to anyone wanting that perfect vacation.
From all the comforts of home to the quiet mornings sipping coffee on the back porch while watching a plethora of wild life... this secluded cabin has it all! We were here while our boys were at FlipFest Gymnastics camp near by. They stayed the first night and then we enjoyed the rest of the week alone. We jogged in the am, sipped our coffee, made gourmet dinners, walked hand in hand and rode our bikes. We took two day trips... to the State Park one to hike and then to play tennis [don't play tennis at the state park - they are dangerous, uneven, cracked and just plain terrible, I recommend looking into the Fairfiled Glade courts as all the highschool courts were locked!] We enjoyed unplugging from all technology though this cabin as wireless and a tv in every room, we watched nature tv. This included squirrels, chickadees, finches, hummingbirds, possibly an eagle, deer, rabbits, chipmunks, and even flying squirrels. At night the view of the field provides a light show from the fire flies [we were here at the end of June] and the music of the bull frogs from the pond down below. We did watch one of the videos in the cabin and rented one from the red box in town. We will definitely be back if we can get the week our boys are at FlipFest next year... what a blessing to stay here! Can't recommend Ravensnest enough! FYI many restaurants are closed on Mondays in Crossville... we ate out one time at Legends Restaurant at the Fairfield Glad... the filet mignon was fantastic! Would have loved to have visited the free Military Museum on Main St. Crossville, but enjoyed the quiet of the cabin too much to leave...
Our family had a wonderful time at this beautiful, cozy cabin in the mountains. The setting and decor made it the perfect mountain getaway for our vacation. We were even fortunate enough to get a little snow, which added to the beauty of the area. The cabin was very clean and decorated nicely. Great sitting area in front of the fireplace to enjoy the company of others or to enjoy by yourself. The bedrooms were spotless and appeared to be newly furnished with new linens as well. Kitchen was completely stocked too, so we had everything we needed to create our meals for our vacation. Very impressed! We enjoyed the clean hot tub with a wonderful view, the walking trails through the beautiful area, and the nice gas fireplace inside (when it was too cold to be outside). Very happy with our experience here and will definitely be going back!!!
