Brevard, North Carolina
The little house is next to a 2 acre pond, in a small neighborhood, 15 minutes from Brevard and Rosman. Upstairs is a covered porch with a bench, and down stairs is another covered porch with a swing and laundry room. Inside is a Queen bed, full kitchen, and a three-quarter bathroom. Pet friendly. Outside is a fire pit and gas grill. This is the only house on the pond, and you will have your own dock with a paddle boat. East Fork River, Dupont, and Pisgah Forest are all nearby, which provide hiking, biking, and fishing. So bring your fishing poles/floats and swim at your own risk.
The pond may fluctuate depending on the seasons. There is another dock that is for the neighbors. Almost a boat house without the rocking waves.
We are working on a firepit outside on the corner of the property, you can see where we have had a small fire before. The big outside trash can is for bagged trash only. We also provide a propane grill that is just steps away from the kitchen. In the laundry room downstairs is a stackable washer/dryer, a water spicket with hose for rinsing off, pond/dog towels, and cleaning supplies. We are pet friendly.
Once you make a reservation I will send you more information and needed directions, GPS will take you somewhere else. We do provide a turnaround spot and parking. The driveway is somewhat narrow. We live a mile or so down the road and can be available when needed. I clean other vacation rentals as well as our own.
Check out Sassafras Mountain, which has a 360 degree view and is 15 minutes down the road out East Fork River, a fisherman's paradise. Living Waters is my favorite water falls to adventure on, it is a 30 minute drive up curvy 215, near the blue ridge parkway.

Rustic lodging at its best without the distractions of fellow tourists and traffic! And you’ll find plenty to do, whether shopping and dining in downtown Brevard or hiking to one of the many waterfalls nearby! Just the right place to get away from it all!
This was the perfect destination for a getaway. There are tons of trails around, if youre into hiking, but also nice seating areas on the property if you want to enjoy the outdoors and stay stil. It was just enough space, and had everything I needed. Tbh, the pictures really dont do it justice! Will certainly be ba k.
We had a good time enjoying eachother and the beautiful area. We even watched a deer eat while on the swing.
Very cozy and quiet place. Jessica was a wonderful host and made the stay very easy and stress-free. I would absolutely stay here again!
The house is small but very very nice. Neat little eat in kitchen with all the needed utensils. Very cool super comfy bedroom. Bathroom is updated and the hot water is great! Loved the porch. Didnt use the washroom. We were only there 2 nights. Loved the surrounding area. So jealous of the folks that get to live there year-round! Property owner was very gracious and informative. Everything you need to feel comfortable and enjoy your stay was supplied with the property. Loved the stay. I definitely recommend The Little House and I look forward to going there again!
10/10 Little House was amazing. We will definitely be returning, Jessica was an amazing host and super communicative!
Wonderful spot for a mountain getaway.
This place was amazing. Away from everyone and everything. It was our little get away and we would love to come back one day. Thank you for everything!
This was a perfect spot to unplug and relax. We love this little house and can’t wait until we can visit again. Thank you for sharing.
The photos and description of the pond is false. There was hardly any water in the pond, more like a mud puddle. The water is NOT up the the dock shown in the picture, you have to go 15 to 20 feet out from the dock to where the water starts. The water is probably no more the 2 feet deep in the center. You have several feet of mud before you get to the water and green muck growing along the edge. Our stay was at the end of July, maybe there is more water in springtime but from the weeds growing along the edges the water has been low for some time. The place is small as advertised but was thinking would not spend much time inside anyway, we would sit out on the dock put tubes in the pond, maybe go for a swim. It wasn't even appealing to sit out and look at the mud puddle. We found other places and things to do during our stay. Would never rent this place again. Not sure I would go even if it was free.
The Little House on the Pond was an oasis. It is secluded and quiet and we felt safe in the area. Everything was clean and the property was well maintained. The water level was low in the pond so we expected the mosquitoes to be crazy but they were not. We sat in the swing on the porch each night reading, talking about our day or just watching the fish and a couple of turtles. A most enjoyable stay.
It was exactly as described and shown in the pictures. It is a very lovely clean and quiet little cabin. I really enjoyed the pond and using the paddle boat. It was like being a kid again. My husband and I brought along our two dogs. They really enjoyed the pond as well. This is a great intimate getaway place for a couple or an individual. It's not really big enough for more than two people. (My husband was a little taken aback about how small it was. The entire cabin is probably only around 150 square feet. I loved it and thought it more than adequately provided for what we needed. I had made the booking so I knew what we were getting into but I don't think he was as clear LOL.) There is also a very nice swing underneath the cabin you can sit out there with a glass of wine and look over the pond as the Sun is setting. I would definitely return again and highly recommend it. At the suggestion of the owner we went to living Waters waterfall. It was very picturesque and highly recommend. You will have to park in the lodge there in their parking space but they didn't seem to mind at all. Also went to looking Glass falls. Gorgeous. It is a swimming hole so bring some swimsuits. Do not use the GPS directions from living Waters to Glass falls it will get you lost in the middle of nowhere. Head back into town and take an alternative route.
This is the cutest little house! We wanted a quiet, out of the way place to recharge and this was perfect. We were a little bummed that the pond was so low so we couldn't take the paddleboat out, but that couldn't be helped, just the nature of the weather. It rained while we were there so we just sat on the swing and watched the rain on the pond. For hours. So peaceful. We loved and it would definitely go back!
Perfect little place to stay to enjoy the local sights. Our goal was to fly fish all the streams we possibly could in 5 days. Mission accomplished! Morning coffee and happy hour evenings were spent on that porch swing! Very comfortable bed, lots of hot water showers, convenience of stocked kitchen to prepare our own meals, all in a private and serene setting. Excellent communication with Jessica, too! Would definitely stay at the lil house again! Thank you!
From the time I sent inquiry until time I left the Little House on the Pond I was more than satisfied! Jessica was very sweet and helpful through the whole process. The house was exactly as described online and the construction, layout and decor was better than I imagined. Location and size was perfect for my husband and me and our 2 chihuahuas.
The Little House is the perfect location for all the hiking trails, kayaking, and waterfall adventures you could ever wish for. Definitely coming back!
Everything is as advertised. It’s a tiny cabin, located in a mountain community, on a private road, with a private pond, and provides endless opportunities to visit the surrounding areas. The owners are available 24/7 and will help you in anyway possible. Five days here and I’m relaxed and recharged and ready to face life again. Thank you Jesse and Levi. Will definitely be back soon.
