The Foust Cabin is a primitive 1860 era log cabin updated to provide all the amenities of modern age living. The Cabin is ideal for couples or families looking for a unique property close to a variety of area attractions and activities to enjoy year round. Perfect for a weekend getaway to relax and enjoy the wood-burning fireplace.
Three Tennessee State Parks are within 15 minutes of The Cabin: Big Ridge, Cove Lake and Norris Dam are all favorites of ours for their beauty and variety of recreational activities offered by each.
We had a very peaceful stay at cabin. Great location, clean and quiet. I would recommend anyone wanting a peaceful getaway try this listing. Owners were great, check-in was easy and cabin was very clean.
Over all the cabin and property was very nice. I think my only criticism is that you can hear the traffic on the main road or interstate, but other than that it was a good stay. Something that would be helpful would be exiting paper so we would know what to do before we left...ie: wash dishes, placement of dirty towels and sheets, etc
Loved the quiet location. Cabin was clean and roomy enough for the two of us.
Cabin was cozy, perfect for 2 people, and well appointed. The hosts were next door and perfectly present when needed, but otherwise unobtrusive. Proximity to great hiking, marvelous fireplace, and a great loft all make this historic spot a gem.
New Year’s Eve weekend getaway in this cabin was a perfect end to a crazy year! We were looking for a quiet, romantic, relaxing getaway weekend and we found the perfect combination. The cabin had everything we needed and was extremely well-kept and clean. We couldn’t of asked for a more relaxing and fun weekend!! This cabin is absolutely perfect!
The Foust cabin was perfect. It had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook our meals, the bed was comfortable, and the space was super cozy. We thoroughly enjoyed the fireplace, which was my favorite part of the whole experience. Robin and Rob are great hosts and they made sure we had everything we needed. They gave us great tips on places to visit and other things we could do during out short stay. I would love to come back next year.
My partner and I were looking for some healing peace and quiet and we found it in spades. The cabin was absolutely perfect, we couldn't have found anything better. Bob and Robin have done an amazing job keeping the rustic charm while also offering a lot of modern amenities. I have never felt so at home at a vacation rental property. The cabin is conveniently located between the city and some great state parks. Next time we will stay longer!
Very peaceful and relaxing and well maintained. Loved the cabin and comforts.
The cabin was located right next to the Museum of Appalachia which gives you detail about the area and works as an amazing date!
Wonderful place to stay- so clean, private, beautiful furnishings and so many extras included. Managers do friendly and went out of their way to make this a super property!
Perfect location for what we were looking for. Cozy and romantic getaway spot for my wife and I. The owners are fantastic to work with.
We were charmed by the warmth of our welcome and of the cabin. It was perfect for a romantic and restful retreat. Just what we were looking to do - get away from the noise of the city. There was hiking and a paved walk within 5 minutes of our stay. Due to COVID-19, we did not eat out or enjoy many of the local offerings, but enjoyed cooking ourselves. Thank you, Robin and Robert, for making out stay so wonderful.
A great little historic cabin. Well maintained, cozy, and even better than the pictures. Friendly owners who helped with local attractions. Close to trails, parks, an art shop, and Appalachian Museum. We saw a deer in the yard the first night. Wonderful visit and would book again.
Thanks Robert & Robin!
My husband and I stayed here for a short getaway trip. The hosts were very nice, greeted us upon arrival and were extremely easy to get in touch with for any questions! The property is quiet and secluded but close to several restaurants and Norris Dam State Park, where we spent an afternoon hiking! Would definitely visit again!
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at this cabin. It is a beautiful property with a gracious hostess. We were in close proximity to the different state parks we wanted to visit. The cabin was clean, cute, and had everything we needed for the weekend.
Bob and Robin were great!! The property was absolutely amazing and we had a wonderful stay. We didn't want to leave!
We had a nice stay and the property owners were very nice.. however there is a camera in driveway and on porch so we didn't feel like there was much privacy and the front of the cabin faces the front of their house so we felt as though we were being watched every time we came and went. It just didn't state that anywhere when we booked.
Quiet, peaceful place. Owners were a big help for local dining and attractions.
Everything was great, quiet place, easy to relax. Close to all types of interesting activities. Had a awesome time!!
A perfect place for a weekend getaway
Fun place to base your stay in the smokies! We were exploring that part of Tennessee and found it to be close to the places we wanted to visit. The cabin has a great story, and the host was very helpful with things to see in the area. Very private and peaceful.
My wife and I had a great time staying at the cabin. We spent the days going to the 3 local state parks, Museum of Appalachia, and Cades Cove in the Great Smokies. We also enjoyed Clinch River Brewery near Norris Lake Dam State Park. The Appalachian Arts and Craft Center across the street is a good place to look for a gift or locally made souvenir. The owners of the cabin were very nice, helpful and informative. The cabin was a very relaxing place to chill out at night.
Enjoyed our stay immensely at this authentic cabin. It was well-appointed, comfortable, and in a lovely setting. A real taste of Appalachia.
Nice cabin and very clean. Owners really nice folks and we enjoyed the area.
The cabin was clean and had everything needed. However the lighting was authentic for sure. Could have used light over the table. Otherwise we had a comfortable, relaxing stay.
We stayed at the Foust Cabin for six nights while we did some hiking on the local trails. The cabin was a unique experience given its history, while also being comfortable and well-equipped. Robert and Robin were very helpful and responsive in making sure we had what we needed to maximize our enjoyment of the cabin, such as bringing us plenty of wood so we could use the gorgeous fireplace. They were also a great source of information about the local area and helped us identify some hiking experiences that we wouldn't have known about. We would definitely recommend the Foust Cabin to others.
My husband and I really enjoyed our weekend getaway. The cabin was cozy and just what we needed to get unplugged! We will diffinitely return.
Great cabin! Wonderful hospitality! We definitely recommend
Had a wonderful time visiting the Norris and Knoxville TN area. The cabin and property were well taken care of and the character of these old cabins were just perfect for a weekend getaway. Robert and Robin were super friendly and accommodating!
It was a great time relaxing and unwinding in this marvelous 1860 era cabin. Located near the interstate and main roads, but far away from noise car or anything else. The owners were so kind and ready to help with anything. Everything that is described and many more in there. Cozy, clean, and all the necessary amenities for cooking or even watching TV, Netflix, or just listening music in the background. A fantastic experience that we will definitely want to go back.
This cabin is fantastic!! Beautiful, private setting with so much charm and character! The cabin is well appointed with many conveniences. The living room is very welcoming with a large stone fireplace and comfortable furnishings. The kitchen is well equipped. The cozy loft bedroom has a king sized bed that overlooks the living area below. The front porch has rockers and a swing with cushions. We highly recommend this cabin. This cabin is CLEAN and well kept!! It is also very easy to find even though when you’re there...you feel like you were away from everything. There are restaurants, gas stations, and attractions close by as well.
I love the cozy cabin, it had everything you needed.. The king size bed in the loft was very comfortable and the stairs were a pleasant surprise. The owners were very nice and helpful.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Beautiful setting and nearby scenery. Hosts are very nice and we would love to come back.
What a gem! My boyfriend and I spent a wonderful long fall weekend here, and it was exactly what we needed to get away from our stressful city lives. Cozy, SO comfortable, quiet, and relaxing. We spent our days out hiking and then coming back to sit in the porch swing, and our nights cuddled up in front of the fireplace. Bob, the owner, let us know how to get in touch if we needed anything (and he showed up with extra firewood just when we needed it) but otherwise we were left to ourselves. We dream of coming back, as soon as we can. If what you are looking for is a quiet, cozy getaway away from it all, this is it.
What a wonderful small cabin in the woods. It was a balm to stay here and build a fire in the fireplace at night. Robert and Robin are wonderful hosts, attentive and not intrusive. I loved sleeping in the comfy king bed in the loft at night after I banked the fire, with the residual heat rising up, lying cocooned in the feather comforter and soft blankets and with plenty of pillows, listening to the coals crackling, enjoying the absolute peace of the night. One night there was rain on the roof—so cozy. This place is a gem.
This was our second time of staying at Foust Cabin. After our first stay, we looked forward to the next. Now we wait another year for vacation and plan for our return next fall. It is a beautiful cabin, quiet location and a good jumping off point for many interesting things to see and do. This was also our second time attending the Tennessee Fall Homecoming music and heritage festival, which we really enjoyed.
