A beautiful cabin nestled on the hillside of the Smokie Mountains. We have completely updated this property with fresh paint, new beds, larger deck, and all the technology. Breathtaking views off the front deck with fire-pit, and plenty of seating. Small private lake for swimming and fishing. Lake Fontana(140 miles of shoreline) and Nantahala Outdoor Center literally 5 miles away. Minutes from boating, rafting, paddle boarding, tubing, zip lining, golfing, hiking, and shopping. 15 minutes to Bryson City, rated one of the best mountain resort towns, and 20 minutes to Cherokee. This cabin has 3 bedrooms(2 King and 1 full) and a loft with 2 queen beds. 3 Flat screen tv's, WiFi, and Apple TV. 2 full baths, laundry room, and fully stocked kitchen. Dining room seats 8 and four seats at kitchen bar. Very cozy place to make great family memories...when you stay at Lil Moon it will not feel like you're in a rental... it is a cozy home away from home!!
No garbage is to be left in or outside the house upon departure. You will lose your deposit. Instructions in Owners manual in kitchen.
The property was spacious and beautiful. It was better than I expected. Toys and games for the family. Close to activities yet tucked away for a quiet night. Beautiful decks and outdoor activities as well. The host was spectacular. Would recommend and would love to stay again!!
We loved the quick location and house for our family. We went to Bryson city, Cherokee and NOC and everything was conveniently located and house was perfect size for our family. House stocked well. Ty!
Great space with lots of space to spread out. Everything was clean and well stocked. The owner was very responsive to questions. Lots of outdoor living space, too. I would rent again:)
We only stayed for a long weekend. This cabin has everything you would expect to find in your own home. Beautiful and clean inside, and for those who love to read, lots of books to cozy up with after a full day of activities. We had a little difficulty finding the cabin, but Sandie set us straight when we finally gave in and called her. There is no garbage pick-up so guests need to plan for taking their garbage to a local facility; this wasn’t a big deal for us since we were only there for a few days. Highly recommend this cabin!
My family and I had a great stay! The boys loved the loft and the lake. Our daughter loved being able to watch TV while in her room. The kitchen was perfect for preparing meals and just hanging out. Thank you!
Our family really enjoyed this cabin. I just wish they would have told the truth about there being a trash location. They got us good on taking out own trash out had to pay to get rid of it.
Even though I was a bit behind on the logistical details, the host made our stay effortless and highly enjoyable. This is a very central location making it easy to access a myriad of activities in the mountain. The property is very clean and well-stocked. A beautiful, easy get away! Thank you!
Had everything we needed for our 5 night stay. The view from the deck was spectacular. Within 20 mins of Bryson City and Robbinsville.
My family had a great time while staying at this cabin. It had everything that we needed. There was enough room for everyone to spread out but still be together. The kitchen was big enough for several people to fix a meal. Each bedroom was a good size. The loft area was a favorite. The lower level shower had such good pressure, and we never ran out of hot water. It was a really great place to stay, and I would recommend anytime.
Our family enjoyed this cabin and the location was perfect.
(If I could 5+ star accuracy of online posting I would, it was better than we expected!) We had a fabulous vacation! Me, hubby, our 9-turned-10 yr old and two grands, 6&7. Yes, it's on a mountain road, no, it's not at all awkward if you've been driving over a year or 2. I do recommend writing down directions and the phone number listed by the owner should you need help. (The home is on the left AFTER a private road that is nearly impossible to turn around on in a dark, rainy night!) The home is perfect, with enough cleaning supplies that its no trouble at all to tidy up upon your departure! The view is not one of those miles away views, but the gorgeous green field, creek, lake and mountains are so missed already. There are games and toys, every kitchen utensil you'll need (aside from an ice cream scoop!) and plenty of extras to make you feel at home. We have added this to our short list of favorites, you won't regret staying here. If you plan to shop at Ingles, get their card bc our total was $180 and the lady behind us let us use her card, we saved $50!) Oh! The main level shower has FIERCE water pressure, go downstairs for a great shower! Obviously, since heat rises, the lowest level is the coolest, top is warmest. I sampled each and all were enjoyable! My only complaint is the lighting, we never did figure out how to turn the light off by the front door, my issue, yes, but those cause me seizures. Blah! My favorite specific thing (bc it was all so great) is the swing. I pulled out my tiara and called it mine! Thanks for an amazing place to call home as we enjoyed our favorite area.
Enjoyed our stay at the Lil' Moon celebrating husband's 60th birthday with kids and grand-kids. Plenty of room for the 8 of us. Comfortable beds and furniture. Nice towels and kitchenware. About a 30 minute drive to downtown Bryson City and the Smokey Mountain National Park. Beautiful fall colors and view of Mountains & pond right off the porch though. You won't be disappointed.
This cabin was amazing for our family vacation in the mountains. Sandie was very sweet, kind, and helpful and was only a phone call away if we had any problems or needed anything at all. The thing we loved about this cabin is the location. It was only 15-20 minutes from Cherokee, about 15-20 minutes from Bryson City where we were able to go on some breathtaking hikes & see 4 beautiful waterfalls, as well as ride the Smoky Mountain train. We drove to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge early one morning and it was about an 1 hr and a half drive, but totally worth it. Plus we were able to see the elk crossing on the way back which was unreal. We enjoyed Nantahala River Gem Mine which was only 10 miles away. At other times we were able to relax by the fire, fish from the lake, and enjoy the beautiful mountain views this cabin had to offer. We had such a wonderful time here, had practically everything we needed, and would most definitely stay again. Thanks Sandie for making our stay unforgettable. Hope to be back again soon! ❤
Everything was great. Only thing I didn’t like was the driveway kind of scary. When I first got there the code wasn’t right. Overall it was great
We had a bit of trouble with the wifi but fortunately we were there to unplug and get away. The house itself was great, though the basement room tended to get pretty hot at night. But the shining jewel is the private lake on the community property! Fantastic for swimming. We will be back next summer!!
Everything was great..
Very relaxing location...loved the stars at night from the balcony.
Our family stayed here for several days, absolutely loved the cabin! The fire pit on the deck overlooking the mountains was perfect for dinner, game nights, and s’mores. The view was beautiful. The furnishings were very cozy and welcoming, and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. Tons of dishes, pots and pans, cooking tools, etc. The coffee maker is a single cup style. The living room is large, with plenty of room for lounging, TV, and video games. The lake and the dock added a nice activity option for fishing or strolling, and the pavilion has fun outdoor games available such as cornhole and shuffleboard. The wifi worked well. Our AT&T plan phones were not able to make calls, but could text. A T-Mobile plan phone was able to make calls. Granted, that could change depending upon future cell tower upgrades. The house was easy to find, and Sandie was always very quick to reply to emails with answers to any questions we had! We went rafting and hiking close by – drove through downtown Bryson City and saw lots of cute shops and restaurants. We did not have time to stop, but will definitely come back and will stay here again! 😊
What a wonderful and relaxing trip for our family! The cabin was everything we needed and wanted, especially our son who just returned from an extended deployment. Sandie was available for any questions we had and on our 1st call, she gave us great information about the area and all of the fun activities. This trip ended sooner than we liked, so we know we will be visiting again for a longer family stay! Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us! The Hamilton’s
We very much enjoyed our stay and would love to come back. This house has a lovely floor plan with separate areas. That was great for our family with teenagers! This is a good location for local activities. Sandie is a great host!!
Drive way to the house is narrow and difficult to maneuver. There was a centipede problem in the downstairs bedroom/bathroom.
The house was just as expected and it was just the right fit for our blended family of 7. We loved sitting on the porch at night and we all especially loved the 4th of July fireworks. We found an awesome swimming spot on lake Fontana that I loved, kids fished in the private lake on the property, and we rented a boat from Princes and spent the day soaking up all the gorgeous scenery. The house is in very close proximity to all the area has to offer. We also highly recommend spending the day at Deep Creek in Bryson City. We truly did not want to leave, and will be back up real soon. Oh and last but not least Sandie was amazing. We couldn’t have asked for a better host.
Beautiful home with plenty of room for our family plus one set of grands. All the amenities we needed and then some. The lake was a added bonus as we all went and fished every night. Driveway is tricky but once you get the hang of it you can fit 2 decent sized vehicles. Would definitely stay again!
Perfect home to take a large family on a relaxing mountain trip. The host is just a text away and very responsive. The neighborhood is nice and quiet, with a stocked pond/lake where people of all ages can have lots of fun swimming and/or fishing. The first night we spent there we used the propane fire pit and sat on the deck just before dawn to relax after a long road trip. Once it got dark we were pleasantly surprised by thousands of flashing fireflies nearby and at the distance, it was like seeing a silent light show. This house makes great family memories..... We will definitely be back! Highly recommended!
Lovely, comfortable home. Plenty of linens and kitchen needs provided. Enjoy the view from the porch. Only downfall was access for older adult that has difficulty walking on gravel walkway and steps. Enjoyed our family time together.
Nice place to stay. We really enjoyed our vacation. Two negatives was worm infestation in the basement and parking was tight with two vehicles.
Truly enjoyed our time here. The owner was absolutely remarkable. She was so informative about the area and answered my endless questions.
What a great place and location for our family vacation! The house is located in a quiet area with a beautiful view, yet easy to get to other places! We really enjoyed the fire table and deck while making our smores at night!
Patio was great for morning, dinner, and late nights. Location is close to a lot of mountain activities for all ages.
Everything was awesome and we enjoyed our stay.
We so enjoyed our stay here! The house was absolutely perfect and lacked nothing! It was clean and well stocked! Beds were comfortable, rooms were spacious and the view was fantastic! We hope to return over the summer to enjoy the nature a little more! You will not be disappointed with this home!
This was our first time staying out of the pigeon forge area and we really enjoyed it. The house is really big and can accomodate alot of people! House is updated and looks alot better than the pictures. The outdoor area is great! The only downside we had was we didnt have cell phone service till the next town, but the house had wifi for guests. The driveway is a little small for trucks but was not an issue.
WE LOVED STAYING HERE. IT WAS THE PERFECT PLACE FOR EVERYONE TO GET TOGETHER. THE FIRE PIT OUT FRONT WAS A LOVELY TOUCH. THERE WERE ENOUGH SEATS FOR EVERYONE. WE ESPECIALLY LOVED THE WATER PRESSURE IN THE HOUSE. IF I WERE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT ANYTHING --THE DRIVEWAY WAS DEFINITELY A MOUNTAIN RETREAT DRIVEWAY!! WE MANAGED THOUGH. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE USE OF YOUR LOVELY HOME
It was Beautiful inside and out.
We had a great time! The house is beautiful and was furnished with everything you need. The owner was very nice and quick to respond to my question.
Loved the space. Home was neat and friendly, well maintained and comfortable though real, not too overdone. Enjoyed pond/lake, dock and paddle boat. Glad paddleboat was there and operable. Did encounter some wasps under dock ramp though were able to stay clear of them once discovered. Other folks on Tobacco Branch (met at lake and waved while walking) were friendly.
This was our second 4th of July in a row staying here. We have had a great time both stays and the home is in a perfect location for enjoying Fontana Lake and nearby Bryson City and the Nantahala Outdoor Center and much more. Big kitchen, big living room, great views of community 4th of July fireworks, and on and on... We will be back and Sandy is very easy to work with. Perfect for our family.
This cabin is very well maintained and more complete and comfortable than most. Nicely decorated, very roomy and a good layout. Most rentals seem to shop at garage sales to stock their property. But this one is stocked like the owner lives there - complete with high quality appliances, kitchen tools, and great furniture. All the beds were very comfortable. The A/C wrked well keeping the house comfortable in mid-90s temperatures the week we were there. This cabin is also very easy to get to (not in a nosebleed location at the end of a steep goat trail). The deck and porch area were very comfortable for gathering in the evening, with propane fire pit table and a nice view of a peaceful valley. The owner was very helpful and responsive to several questions I had. This one will stay on my short list for future visits to the area.
My family really enjoyed our stay. The house was super clean, super cozy. The owners thought of everything. We really loved the board games and the fire pit. Thanks Sandi!!!
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was perfect for all of us (5 adults 4 kids) It had everything we needed. Very quiet neighborhood and easy to get to. Will def be back :)
Owners were so helpful
We found the house relaxing and very well decorated.
This house was perfect for our family of 9 and far exceeded our expectations. The online pictures appropriately reflect it's mountain charm yet the rooms are actually much larger and the kitchen easily accommodated multiple people prepping and cooking simultaneously. The house and property offer plenty of room to move, share space, play, and relax. Compared to the dozen or so other houses we've stayed in thru VRBO this house was the most well-appointed and logically equipped than any other. The owner was easily accessible and extended the warmest hospitality as well. The gas fire pit was great for evening socializing with plenty of room and comfy chairs, the spacious living room was cozy for family movies, and the charcoal grill provided the tastiest meals. The bedrooms and bathrooms were well-appointed with comfy beds and plenty of towels. We will definitely return to this sweet mountain retreat - thanks so much Sandie for sharing this gem!!
Great house for 10 of us for the 4th of July weekend. Very close to the Prince Boat Dock on Fontana Lake and great fireworks display we viewed from the balcony. Couldn't have asked for more.
My family of 9 stayed, ages 5-45, and we loved the cabin. It is just close enough to everything while still being tucked away on a mountainside. It is beautifully decorated, has everything we need, comfortable beds (and I am hard to please), and the layout is perfect with three levels. There were only two minor complaints. The downstairs area gets cold even with heat on upstairs and the space heater going. It isn't freezing but definitely colder than other parts of house but is great to snuggle under warm covers. The other complaint is the directions. One set of directions states to veer right at the set of mailboxes. It was extremely dark the night we arrived and following those directions took us to the wrong house. There is no cell service in the area so we had to drive down the mountain to call or message the owner. Even with a quick response it was horrible. Directions are actually pretty simple. Once you turn onto Tobacco Branch Road, stay to LEFT at the group of mailboxes. Steep driveway will be the first driveway on left after the first road to left. Once we got here it was perfect. Cannot wait to come again. Seriously thinking we could make this a tradition.
House was gorgeous! We were running away from Hurrican Matthew because we live in Myrtle Beach, SC. It was very last minute but the home owners were very nice and understanding. Theres lot of things to do! We went to the Deep creek waterfalls and we went horseback riding. Theres also a train ride but unfortunately we didnt get to! Definitely recommend staying at this house if you are going on a vacation towards the mountains in NC.
We enjoyed our three night stay over Labor Day weekend. This home was easy to locate and is very conveniently located to several activities like Fontana Lake, Nantahala Outdoor Center and the Great Smokies Mountain Railroad. The house appears to have been built in the '80's but has been completely updated inside sparing no expense. The kitchen is large and well equipped. The living room is spacious with a large TV and plenty of comfortable seating and lounging. In general the house was very well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing vacation. The house is situated on a very steep hillside with a steep and narrow driveway which wasn't an issue because it's paved and straight as an arrow. The turnaround at the top is pretty tight for a large vehicle but otherwise not a problem and you can park your vehicle just inches from the house. AT&T cell phones have no service here but Sprint and Verizon do. We had WIFI in the home so sending and receiving text messages with our AT&T phones was a breeze. There were no long range mountain views like we've had with other cabin rentals but the setting was still beautiful. There is a small lake within walking distance with a dock for swimming and fishing. One minor complaint is that the large deck sits below a hickory tree. The deck and deck furniture were covered with pieces of hickory nuts and other debris. A good cleaning would have been appreciated before our arrival. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful with useful information. She put us in touch with a nice man who rented us his pontoon boat on Lake Fontana for a very reasonable fee. She recommended certain restaurants in Bryson City and was very responsive to my questions prior to our arrival. If you have ever ridden the North Georgia Scenic Railway then don't waste your money riding the Great Smokies Mountain Railroad in Bryson City. It is no different. I was expecting to see some long range, breathtaking mountain views but there weren't any. The train pretty much follows alongside the Nantahala River which is nice but after 4 hours it's enough. The Nantahala Outdoor Center is a must visit and so is Fontana Lake. Also if you get a chance go visit Brevard, NC. What a beautiful place! We liked it better than Bryson City. Have fun!
We had a very nice stay enjoying our family. There was enough rooms with beds to fit a larger family. The basement was a little musty so if you have allergies you will want to stay upstairs. Plenty of seating room to relax as well as eat together. The drive can be a little intimidating, but there is just barely enough room to turn a suburban around with several shifts. We were able to get 3 cars up the hill by backing up the hill and putting one by the house and two side by side at the top of the hill. More than that, and we would have parked at the bottom and walked up. Kitchen had everything we needed. Owner was very friendly and gave some good suggestions before arrival.Thank you for sharing your home.
