The property was nice could have been cleaned a little more. The showers could use a spruce but not to bad. Would stay here again
Travelled with friends for the weekend and place is great and they had all the things what we needed at this place. Enjoyed the sit on the wrap around deck and the hot tub. Host made us aware of the some fall bugs which is good and understandable due to the fall time.
Electric boxes exposed, towels were cheap & worn, no chairs for the fire pit, lower level had an unpleasant odor, downstairs bathroom door wouldn’t close. The porch was great!!! The neighbor had a scrap yard of junk ?
Cabin was clean. The hot tub was fantastic after hiking all day. The locals who live nearby were super friendly. Overall a great place for my family to reconnect.
Our overnight stay was amazing. This house was amazing. We would stay here again.
Loved the space of the property, so nice to spread out. Peaceful and very relaxing.
This property is located in a neighborhood. The neighbors are friendly enough but if you are looking for some privacy and no people around, this is not the place for you. It sleeps about 8 comfortably, we had 11 and it advertises sleeping 12. For as much as we spent to stay here, it was not very clean at all. I always look for a decent cleaning fee before I choose where to stay. This place had not been dusted or vacuumed for some time and it was fairly obvious. I know the caretaker lives right nearby, but disappointed in the cleanliness of the cabin. It has lots of potential to really be a great cabin, there are no hooks for towels anywhere, dead hornets in all window wells, not even sure if the sheets were clean on some of the beds, we changed them when we got there. The trash never was picked up while we were there, and we stayed 5 nights and it was full when we got there so there was lots of animals getting into our trash because we didn't have anywhere to put it. The owner was very quick to reply to me when I texted through the app and the deck on the house was a huge game changer for a general hang out location since there really isn't any place like that in the cabin.
The good: Elizabeth is very responsive. There are amenities for younger children (toddler dishes, high chair, & pack & play) and a plethora of kids toys and books. Location is an easy 20-30mins drive from the main Hocking Hills sites. Lastly, the housekeeper, Stacey, is located very close, very nice/personable, and was able to come assist us with some of our needs (Wi-Fi issues and bug problems) within minutes. The bad: Due to the lack of weather stripping on the exterior doors, there were an abundance of insects (primarily flies) that came into the house. The first night we killed about 15-20 flies. Yes, the property is located in the woods and bugs are expected but this was another level. Note: Elizabeth & Stacey did respond and added temporary weather stripping and gave us a bottle of Raid, although we did not use due to little ones. There was room for improvement on the cleanliness of the house. Example, dead insects on the majority of the window sills and on the carpet, and noticed the sheets were not all clean. Specifically, my daughter pulled back the sheets on the top bunk and found a couple of dead bugs and a dirty sock. Lastly several safety issues: the sliding barn door on the kids room has no safety feature preventing it from being knocked off the rail. The balcony has some safety concerns with how it is built/supported. Also, a small child could slip through the the 6” spaced guard rail columns. Overall a good vacation and made some wonderful memories
My buddies and I stayed for a week and it was a great experience. The owner was very accomodating and kept in touch the entire time. The property had some neighbors who were super friendly and the house was perfect for our group. It actually snowed a couple days while we were there which was a first for our group of Florida boys. Definitely consider this place if you're thinking of hunting in Tar Hollow or surrounding area.
This was a nice getaway trip with family. The cabin was nice but not as clean as I’d hoped. The downstairs rooms need a little more TLC. We did spend most of our time on the wrap around porch. Neighbors were very nice and we even had a friendly dog come visit us a few times. The location was a little further from the hiking but not too bad. We had great service at The Ridge Inn restaurant and they have awesome donuts on the weekends.
This was the perfect spot for our grown children and their children to meet for some family time. Loved each family had their own rooms. Only wish we could have stayed longer.
We loved our stay! The property owner gave amazing information and was very quick to answer all and every question! Would absolutely stay here in the future or any property by the same owner! 5/5 Stars would recommend!
We stayed this past weekend with our entire family and had an amazing stay. We had 9 people, 6 kids and 3 adults. We all slept very comfortably and the cabin had a lot of space. The home was clean and spacious. The hot tub was clean and very relaxing. The seclusion of the place made it perfect for kids. You don’t have a lot of reception in the area but at the cabin you do and the WIFI there was very quick. Highly recommend to anyone who wants a private weekend and a place that feels like home.
We had such a wonderful time at this property and in Hocking hills! There were a full 10 of us staying here, and it was such a perfect property for us. We had enough room for everyone at the kitchen table, and enjoyed some great home cooked meals on our trip. There was a room downstairs big enough for everyone to watch a movie, and we loved the hot tub. The special touch that our children really enjoyed was the candy machines. Sometimes it's the little things that just make it more memorable. There are plenty of toys for the children to play with as well which kept them very entertained. I recommend that you make sure you have all check-in instructions ahead of time because the service in the area for us was very poor, and we had a lot of trouble communicating. For all of us who are so used to our modern technology, I recommend downloading an offline map as well. I will truly treasure this trip in my memories for a lifetime.
We came here to relax and get away from town for a bit. I chose this cabin to be close to Hocking Hills since that was the main purpose for our trip. The cabin was a wonderful getaway and pretty secluded. We had a great time just being unplugged and seeing all the beautiful foliage and nature that surrounded the cabin.
We spent the weekend here for my 40th birthday. We truly enjoyed ourselves! The place was beautiful and a beautiful location. We had such a wonderful time and plan to return!
This property was beautiful just as the pictures show. The communication with the owner was outstanding from the time we booked, all the way until we got home from our trip. You can tell she puts a lot of work and effort into managing her property and cares about her guests. The cabin was extremely spacious and clean. The beds and couches were comfy and the hot tub was clean. The location of the property was perfect. It is close to stores, hiking areas, and restaurants. She made sure we had everything we needed plus more by leaving a nice goodie bag with some things for our daughter to play with. The kids room also has toys to also keep them occupied. We will definitely be going back to this property soon, we couldn’t have had a better weekend getaway!!?
