This Cabin is Located in Alpine, WY 36 miles Jackson Hole. It is in the trees and has great mountain views. Only 42 miles to Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park north of that. There is world class fishing in the Snake, Greys and Salt and Hobback rivers, all with in 20 miles of the house. Apline is also home to the Greys River Snowmobile trailhead. A great snowmobile area with hundreds of miles of groomed trails. You can ride from the house! The first floor of the house has two bedrooms with a bathroom which has a large tub. The third bedroom is a large loft upstairs with its own bathroom and is open to the great room below. There is a huge wrap around porch and a private balcony off the loft master. The kitchen and living area are one of a kind! Please feel free to give me a call to ask about my property or the area. I am an 18 year resident and happy to help out in any way.
My family used this property for a family vacation with extended family. It was prefect. The kitchen has lots of basic staples already. Rooms were well equipped. The location was great and convenient to many places to eat, direct highways, gas and groceries.
Amazing place in an amazing location. Alpine has everything you need and nothing you don’t.
This cabin was better than expected. The pictures do not do it justice. It had everything you could possibly need in it and it was clean, open, and spacious. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back.
This cabin was above and beyond our expectations! It was just lovely. It had everything we needed (including a microwave). We felt so at home. We cooked a few nights and enjoyed coffee on the patio facing the snow capped mountains. It was very clean and was well stocked. The kitchen seemed brand new! The only side note would be the floors are creaky if you are a light sleeper but it's a lovely cabin in the woods so the floors did not influence our stay whatsoever!
Scott answered all my questions and provided guidance on where to park our snowmobile trailer. The kitchen had the most variety of basic items, spices & seasonings, cooking oil, coffee (and filters), of any VRBO place that I've ever stayed. The home was well furnished and supplied with plenty of fire wood, pillows, blankets, books to read, etc
Another great stay at Shawns cabin in Alpine Wyoming.
Shawn’s place is great place to stay it is close to the snowmobile trail, gas, food. Shawn is great to work with if you need anything at all he takes care of it.
This place was amazing!!! Warm and cozy
The cabin is gorgeous, we loved every minute of it! We loved the location we are thinking of moving up here. Outdoor delight!
Pictures do not do justice of how beautiful this cabin is. We were in awe walking into the front door. We chose this cabin as our snowmobile trip was made for The Gray's River which was 2 minute drive literally down the road of the cabin but, were informed there wasn't enough snow on that tour so they booked our snowmobile trip in Togwotee an hour north of Jackson. With that being said we were a ways out from Jackson but didn't mind at all... BEAUTIFUL CABIN. Everything was awesome from start to finish. Shawn the owner was great to the end. We hope we are welcomed to stay again.
Enjoyed ourselves. But if you have trouble with stairs, you’ll have to be on the main level. Stairs to second floor are very steep.
This property was exactly as shown in the photos and description. The house was clean and the kitchen had everything needed for cooking (except a microwave 😉 but we didn’t miss it during our stay.) Although this trip was only my husband and I the home would accommodate a much larger group with ease. The fireplace was our favorite feature and we utilized it every day and there was plenty of firewood provided. The driveway was a little steep but we had no problem with our small car this time of year. I would definitely want AWD in the winter months. Shawn was very helpful with all aspects from the reservation process to answering questions we had prior to our visit as well as questions we had during our stay.
We stayed for 5 days and drove into jackson and the Tetons. The cabin was super cute and cozy and we had a great time. A couple small things that bothered me: no microwave, the upstairs shower had a very slow drain (kinda gross and annoying), the upstairs bed wasn't very comfortable and kind of folded in the middle, there was a very sketchy drop from the loft area that we had to block off to keep kids safe. The owner was very responsive and the place was clean and in a beautiful area.
This place was much bigger than we needed - and I can imagine it would hold a lot of people and would be great for a group of friends or family. It was clean, and while it was in a neighborhood, you still have a decent amount of privacy. There is lot of outdoor space to hang out - as well with furniture out there which made it enjoyable. It’s located close enough to some trails in WY and ID and about 80 mins from Grand Teton NP and about 40 mins to Jackson. There’s a grocery store nearby and a few restaurants - but we used the kitchen rather than eat out.
The area is a true hidden gem. I am actually torn writing that, as selfishly, I don't want others to find out about it. So much to do, so much to see. Completely surrounded by amazingness. The cabin/house is nice. Worn, but nice. Plenty of room for a good size group. We had 4 adults, a dog, and a toddler, and had room to spare. We visited in the middle of summer when it was quite warm. The house does not have AC, but does have ceiling fans. Unfortunately, these weren't enough to cool the house at night. Stand up or window fans would have helped circulate the cool outside air through the house. Would recommend requesting a couple of fans. The deck was our favorite part of the house. It offered great views and was great to enjoy dinner and drinks on. We would stay here again. We'd just ask for fans or come during a cooler season.
The home was very nice! We had a great time and it was so relaxing.
Owner is a good guy. Home is clean, spacious and very quiet with forest in backyard. Minutes from downtown Alpine.
This cabin is exactly what we were looking for. Great location, comfortable, spacious, rustic and clean. The kitchen is well stocked. The beds are comfortable! We will definitely stay here again the next time we come out to Alpine. Shawn answered lol of my questions in a timely manner. Thanks, Barry
Have rented this property twice clean and comfortable excellent location to snowmobile from
We had a fantastic experience at this cabin! It was exactly as described, if not better. There was space for everyone, a very well stocked kitchen (every tool or dish we needed was there) for family meals, a TV with Netflix, wi-fi, comfortable beds. The owners even came by to remove snow from the pathways after a storm and the driveway was plowed. We will definitely stay here next time we are visiting the Jackson area!
This house is tucked away in the wooded area in Alpine. Woke up to dear and squirrels visiting the property in the mornings. Quiet, warm and comfortable with all amenities you will ever need. Excellent!
Our family was in town for a destination wedding and this property was a great fit for us! Conveniently located, tranquil and just the right size. Only drawbacks we experienced were the lack of microwave and challenge initially finding the cabin but the owner was super helpful.
The cabin was exactly as descried. The check in process was simple, the cabin was clean, and the area around Alpine was beautiful. I would definitely stay at this cabin again in the future.
Great stay. Great size for us and other family who joined us. Not at clean a would like. Not as well stocked as other cabins we have rented. But overall a good time.
My family and I are very happy that we rented this cabin. It made the trip perfect. Plenty of room for everyone. Abundant hot water. Shawn was quick to answer any questions and was very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. Would definitely rent this again. PS if you’re hoping for a microwave that’s the only thing it doesn’t have.
The house is in a lovely setting. Partially secluded with Mountain View’s on three sides. Very cozy inside with lots of space and many amenities. Shawn was a great host. Very helpful on providing guidance to local outfitters and fishing. Would definitely stay here again if property is available.
This was perfect for our family of five. The drive to Jackson is beautiful.
5 of us stayed here the end of January. Great place to stay! The driveway is a little tricky in the winter.
What a beautiful place! Very secluded and private. We were about 45 minutes from Jackson. Very easy drive when the roads were not covered in snow. The road to the cabin was plowed everyday, still needed a four wheel drive but we were prepared. The place was very comfortable with everything but a microwave. Funny how you do not really how convinient a microwave is. But it did not diminish anything about the stay! Highly recommend this place, would stay there again in a heartbeat! Thanks Shawn!
Well appointed and very cared for property in a perfect location. Right in town yet secluded and backing up to forest. If you do more cooking at home (as we do) rather than dining out every meal you will be impressed with the level of kitchen implements and utensils. Just the two of us visited and we chose to use the upstairs loft “master suite” bedroom but there is plenty of room for a larger party with two additional bedrooms and a full bath on the main level. You will not be disappointed.
We loved it! Perfect for two couples with kids. The beautiful Grey River just two blocks away. Wonderful picnicing, kayaking and canoeing. Palisades dam less than a mile. Beautiful 45 minutes to Jackson. Don't miss the Bar J dinner & show. We did wish there was a microwave in the cabin but everything else was perfect!
We had family business in Jackson Hole but wanted to get a new experience and chose this cabin in Alpine about 30 minutes south (a beautiful drive back and forth I might add) and it was perfect! Great place to relax - quiet, nice decks with great views, and plenty of room! We did BBQ and that worked out well - with dining outside as a nice option. And found the local pizza good - and as a beer aficionado found local Melvin Brewing a great place to have a cold one on the deck and watch the sunset on the Snake River. We loved the ambiance of the log cabin - complete with the creaky floors which make it that much more calming and relaxing. Go for it - you won't be disappointed!
We had a great stay in Alpine, WY. It is close to great fishing, rafting and to Jackson and Teton Village. Loved the Rodeo in Jackson, Mad River Rafting, and Horseback Riding. The cabin was well equipped and very clean. Highly recommend this place!
We enjoyed our stay immensely. Everything we needed was available, the cabin is comfortable and lovely, and our dogs had a great time! The Mountain Days Festival was fun, and my husband had a ball doing the triathlon that was part of it. We highly recommend this beautiful, quiet get away.
Stayed here for a snowmobile trip. It was a good set up for our group size and we had a good time. Shawn was a good host and very responsive to questions. I’d recommend staying here if you’re looking to explore the Alpine area!
Shawn was very easy to reach and extremely helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking to spend some time in mountains. We had a group Of snowmobilers and it worked perfect for us and close to the trail. Thanks for everything.
Great house, well appointed. Very comfortable for 5 adults. Beautiful inside and outside. Backs up to the forest so you get a very nice view. Owner Shawn was easy to work with and easy to get ahold of. We used his home as a base for exploring Teton National park. Beautiful drives to and from along the Snake River.
Exactly what we were expecting, great cabin in good location and private.
This cabin is very spacious and nicely done! It has a porch all around the cabin and sits right in the Forrest. It's right next to the Palisades Reservoir, Snake River, and Grey's River. We enjoyed it so much we stayed an extras day more than we had planned for our vacation. Shawn, the owner provided plenty of information about the area and fishing. If you like books the cabin has tons of them to read. Definetly going to come back this place again! Great place!
Beautiful home just far enough away from the crowds of Jackson Hole, but close enough to all the great activities in the area. We practically lived on the wrap around porch with the mountain views.
Great base to visit national parks.
We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and town. Shawn shared advice on hikes and fishing holes. He keeps the mountain gardens nicely. Good stereo, kitchen, bathrooms, mattresses, deck(!) No complaints at all.
Booked the cabin a few months ahead of time for a snowmobiling trip, as it got closer to the trip the temperatures were unseasonably warm. Shawn called and recommended that we come out a different time when snow conditions were better. He was SUPER flexible on moving our 7 night booking around, offered to roll it over to the following year no questions asked. Cabin was beautiful, most of the days we rode the sleds from the cabin. We were unable to pull our trailer up to the cabin due to the limited driveway space but Shawn works with Next LvL Riding Clinics and we were able to park our trailer there which is less than a 1/4 mile from the cabin. Would highly recommend, definitely will be returning.
A couple of friends and I recently rented the cabin from Shawn for a snomobiling trip to alpine. It's a great setup you can ride right from the cabin everything you need is in close distance. Great place definitely rent again for our next trip to alpine!
We had a wonderful time in a wonderful place!!! We so enjoyed our stay here. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. We were surrounded by the beauty of the mountains and close to many activities. The wrap around porch lets you relax and enjoy different views. It was truly a great place to get away from it all. The heated floor was a nice addition. The kitchen is also very well stocked with everything you need (except it is helpful to know that there is no microwave). Shawn had a lot of brochures and ideas waiting for us on the kitchen table and we built our hikes, activities and eating out based on his recommendations - which were all GREAT!! No one wanted to leave!! We will definitely be back!!
My family rented Shawn's house for a month and had a wonderful time. We wanted to explore Wyoming's national parks and nature but not be in a dense, touristy area like Jackson, and Alpine and the house were a perfect fit. Pretty log house, beautiful 360 degree deck with a view directly on mountains, convenient and well-stocked grocery and gas station just down the road, just a short drive to the impressive national forest and a big reservoir, and 1 hour drive to Grand Teton and 2-1/2 (?) to Yellowstone south entrance. The national parks were epic. Definitely recommend this rental for those seeking something similar. Pictures and description are reliable. Thanks again Shawn!
We spent four days at Shawn's cabin while attending a family reunion in Star Valley, and we absolutely loved the cabin and location in Alpine. The cabin is beautiful, and very comfortable. We all felt right at home immediately. We spent as much time as possible out on the decks that surround the cabin enjoying the views and quiet. When we weren't at the reunion, Alpine is close and convenient for whatever we needed, and the cabin is close to so many outdoor activities, it was hard to choose what to do. Just a few miles away we went kayaking and paddle boarding, and also spent a day up in Jackson Hole. We plan on coming back again.
LOVED this place!! Nice cabin in the woods, comfy beds, great bathrooms, beautiful space!! The only thing I would update is the kitchen accessories BUT really NO BIG DEAL...I would definitely recommend and we will be back;) Thanks Shawn
Absolutely loved this place! There were two families (total of 7 of us and a dog) and we stayed for five nights. There was plenty of room for all of us to stay comfortably. The place was clean and cozy and had everything we needed. We loved the huge deck where we enjoyed coffee in the mornings and dinner in the evenings. We would definitely come back again.
We really enjoyed our stay. Everything in the house was easy to operate and find. We were very happy that we picked this cabin over hotel rooms. The house was nicely decorated, comfortable and pleasing to the eye. We were there to ride snowmobiles and we did this 4 straight days, as well as going into town a couple of times to eat and shop.
Excellent Cabin! Everything it was advertised to be. Owner was very accommodating. Always returned phone calls in a timely fashion
This was an amazing house. I couldn't be happier and would strongly recommend this property to anyone.
We have visited Star Valley many times, staying a different VRBO rentals. This cabin was ideal: atop the hillside with fantastic views, away from traffic, easy to access, an extremely comfortable throughout. Shawn had plenty of chopped wood ready to use. He was very responsive to questions we had throughout our stay - even checking back to ensure 'all was okay'. What I read in prior reviews are all true. This cabin in Alpine is on the top of our must return list.
We loved the cabin and its location. The cabin was very clean, comfortable and private. There were a lot of things to do in the area. You never know what you are actually going to get when you rent online, but this was exactly as it was advertised but even better!!!We would absolutely come here again!
If only I could have stayed here for longer with my family! Beautiful big log house fully equipped & with loads of character. Sitting out the back looking into the woods with hummingbirds visiting the flowers - bliss! The owner replies quickly to all emails and provides excellent information to the area. We did one of his suggested walks & had a wonderful time. My grandson (4 yrs old) particularly liked his room with real cowboy hats. Thank you for everything! Highly recommend!
When we arrived the cabin we couldn't have been happier. Our family used the cabin for our annual reunion and we found that the space was perfect for us. The porch encircling the cabin was the highlight because it gave the kids plenty of room to be kids and made it easy for everyone to step outside and take in the beauty of the area whenever we pleased. The cabin's location is very good; it's tucked back into the hills enough to feel secluded but was also close enough to everything to make getting around easy. Highly recommend this cabin for families.
Shawn's cabin had everything a family could want. Plenty of room, fully stocked kitchen, VERY comfortable beds.... it was a joy to return to the cabin after a day out. The view was beautiful, and Alpine is a cute little town to explore. The fireplace made the cabin cozy, and the wrap-around deck was a nice way to enjoy the seclusion of the location.
Home owner provided great communication and the house was in excellent shape. The home is up a hill, quiet, great wrap around deck and fully stocked with items you'll need while there. It's a nice one mile walk into town for coffee in the morning, which we did daily, and the kids loved the loft. Great views of the surrounding mountains and access to the Grey's river. I would highly recommend this home for anyone who want's to be near the Tetons, but not have to deal with the crowds. We would certainly go back!
The cabin offered great access to the Greys River for hiking, fishing and ATVs. The views were amazing and it was wonderful to feel secluded and quiet but still run into town for pizza and pool. We enjoyed the large deck and fireplace every evening. We'll be back again!
We stayed at the cabin when our niece was getting married. We really didn't know how much family would be staying with us but ended up with people in every bedroom and used couches as well. It was so nice to have a big deck and a well equipped kitchen to enjoy family meals. The view was spectacular, location was perfect for us, and the whole process very laid back. We hope we have an opportunity to return!
we stayed at this cabin for the entire month of feb. 2015 for snowmobiling. excellent location to the greys river trail system. cabin is beautiful and clean!! shawn was wonderful to work with thank you for allowing us and our dogs to rent your gorgeous home. we will definitley be back!!!
The location of this cabin is ideal for fishermen and outdoor enthusiasts. There are miles of rivers within easy driving distance and plenty of trails for hiking or running in the Targhee National Forest. My parents, husband, and I stayed at the cabin in August 2014. The cabin is close enough to Jackson, the Grand Tetons, and Yellowstone for day trips, but your day-to-day activities and shopping in Alpine will not be crowded with tourists. Alpine has a grocery store, health food store, a couple of restaurants, and plenty of friendly locals. You can buy fishing licenses and rent stand-up-paddleboards in Alpine. The pictures of the cabin do not do it justice. Upon arrival, my expectations were immediately exceeded. The downstairs common area is very spacious; the wrap-around deck has been updated with a larger dining table and two wooden lounge chairs. The bathrooms are recently updated. The kitchen is amazingly well-equipped for a rental. The cabin was very, very clean. I highly recommend this cabin.
My husband, 2 sons, and I stayed here on our first trip to Wyoming. This was our first time renting a cabin through VRBO so we weren't sure what to expect. The cabin and it's surroundings is beautiful. It is very clean, has everything you would need, and is exactly as pictured. I would highly recommend this cabin.
My husband and I stayed at this property during our Christmas/New Years break in 2013. It is dog friendly, as our Chihauhaus were with us. The home is very nice and accurately described in its ad. Our main reason to stay in the area was for snowmobiling and what a great area. Simply underload the machines right at the cabin and drive directly from the cabin to the trails (no hauling around on a trailer). Shawn, the owner, provided us with snowmobile maps of the area and was very helpful. The home has an upstairs loft with king bed and private bath; 2 bedrooms on main level (one with queen bed; the other with 2 twin beds) with full bathroom (with tub) on main level. Each bedroom has access to outside deck (very handy). I recommend staying at this property. Would be perfect for family gatherings also. Corinne and Brad, Regina Beach, SK, Canada
This house was perfect for our Wyoming stay. Great kitchen that looked onto the comfy living room, which had a lovely fireplace. The home was very clean and recently updated. Comfortable beds, beautiful deck in the trees with a grill, and a well appointed kitchen were the highlights. We made dinner and relaxed by the fire every night! Owner was very nice and the home was just perfect for our stay. Very easy access and close to everywhere we wanted to go. We will consider staying there again.
Our first trip to Wyoming and we loved every minute of it. The stay in Alpine was a great choice. Thanks Shawn!
This place is a great mountain home for a quiet, central stay. The house suits its setting well and was comfortable for 6 of us on a family vacation. The veranda around all sides is especially nice in the evenings. It's very quiet and an easy drive into Jackson. The local and regional information and books were a nice, welcoming touch. Recommended.
I stayed at this cabin with a few friends during a fishing/sightseeing trip. The cabin was awesome. It was very well appointed, clean and obviously well cared for. The wrap around deck was one of our favorite features, a great place to enjoy your morning coffee, grill, or just hang out and relax. Inside the modern cabin has all the comforts of home, a great open kitchen, nice size bedrooms with very comfortable beds, and spacious bathrooms. The living room is set up nicely with both a fireplace and wood burning stove (both of which were great to have during the cool nights). The property is located in a very nice little town called Alpine where the Snake and Greys river empty into the pallisades reservoir, just 45 minutes south of Jackson. The owner Shawn was very friendly, helpful and a pleasure to work with. We couldn't have been happier with our stay and we hope to go back soon!
The cabin was very clean. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The cabin owner was very nice and helpful in making our stay in Wyoming pleasant.
