You’ll also have easy access to everything the Great Smoky Mountain region has to offer, including opportunities for hiking, biking, horseback riding, boating, fishing, white-water rafting, shopping, dining, sightseeing and more. The Nantahala National Forest and Lake Fontana, the Fontana Dam and the Great Smokey Mountain Railway are some of the many favorite things to do that are super close to the cabin.
Most pets welcome. 2 pets MAX and NO puppies permitted. $50 pet fee for stay. ALL PETS MUST BE PREAPPROVED.
Very good!! Loved the cottage and we would stay there again.
This is a very nice place to stay. No tub though so keep that in mind. Hot tub works great but no covering from nearby neighbors about 50 yards away on either side. 3 beds, master room downstairs and 2 beds upstairs. 3 TVs and 3 ACs. Plenty of trails nearby to walk, grocery stores and shops are about an hour away.
Very relaxing, peaceful and comfortable. We will be back
This home is exactly what the doctor ordered. Cozy, relaxing and absolutely amazing. My internal batteries have been energized .
Nice, old mountain farm house. Well appointed and very clean. Good location. Very accessible. Property owner/manager was responsive and helpful. Very convenient booking.
Lovely and cozy home with many touches for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed our time there very much.
My husband & I brought his 89yr old Mother w us for the weekend. The cabin was very clean & provided all the necessities plus more! I liked that there were 2 living areas. I could read by the fire while they watched a movie! The heater took a bit to figure out & we still had to use the space heater provided for Ma's room downstairs. All 3 wall units must be in the same mode to work. Shelby was quick to explain over the phone. The location was nice. We chose not to use the jacuzzi, which we normally do, but the area out back wasn't exactly private. It would be great if there was one handrail for the front steps. Overall, we'd give Firefly Haven an A. It's a quiet, clean, extremely well equipped cabin convenient to all the area has to offer.
The property is absolutely beautiful and we enjoy staying there. The property manager has been amazing to work with the last two years we have stayed in one of her properties. Our only issue with this house was some sort of bug that was everywhere inside the house that the people last year had warned us about. We brought our bug spray with us and sprayed while we enjoyed the afternoon on the lake and we had no more problems the rest of the week. And a special thanks for allowing our fur baby to vacation with us. She loves playing on the rolling hill beside the house!
This cabin was perfect for two couples and their dogs for a weekend while we were riding Tsali and paddling at NOC. It's in a scenic community that is easy to reach, but peaceful and remote. It had everything we needed for a great stay.
Took our grandsons for a few days of tubing and rafting. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and so glad to have easy access, as opposed to a driveway straight up a mountainside! Shelby was totally attentive to anything we needed.
My friends and I throughly enjoyed this air conditioned alternative to summer camping in the Smokies! Very clean and well-furnished. Wonderful place to read and relax.
Property was beautiful & house! We enjoyed our visit!
We've visited the Smokies several times and have stayed at many places. This cottage is one of our favorites! The babbling brook was so peaceful. The porch swing is large enough to take a nap (which I did!) The hot tub was wonderful after a day of sight-seeing and mountain biking. The cottage was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The other 2 cottages on the site were a little closer than I expected, but we never had any issues with other guests. I also expected the road in front to be a little less busy. There seems to be some developing going on down the lane, so there were trucks passing by throughout the day. This didn't cause us a problem, but guests should be aware that they won't have complete seclusion here. Children and pets need to stay away from the road because the locals and worksite trucks tend to travel down it very quickly. Overall, it was a wonderful place for a family get-away. We would stay here again given the opportunity.
Picked this one day in advance and it couldn’t have been any better
We really enjoyed the secluded area of the cabin. It was so enjoyable to sit on the porch and listen to the stream and look at the flowers and trees starting to bloom. It was so close to several great hiking trails and the Smokey mountain natl park. The cabin had plenty of space for us and was very well equipped with everything we needed for our stay.
Our family (2 adults, 2 children, and 2 doggies) enjoyed our stay at this cottage. We loved the two separate living rooms, as children could watch their cartoons and adults could watch their shows. The yard was perfect for our dogs, drive was easy, and we had everything we needed there. If I had to say something negative it would just be the heat/ac. It was pretty cold and certain rooms would not get warm enough. We absolutely would stay again and enjoyed our time.
The property and house are so nice. Very clean and well maintained. Perfect, relaxing getaway. Will definitely return.
We normally stay in Robbinsville but surprisingly to us, this cottage was in a great (better) location for our plans. There was no issue driving up to the cottage which can be a concern for us with a low sports car. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. We loved the bed swing. There was more than enough extras in the cottage and we had everything needed plus some for a nice stay. Even though the property has 2 other homes, we never saw any of the other people there. We used the charcoal grill instead of the gas grill and loved it. We managed to see bunnies constantly and my husband saw 3 deer early in the morning. Definitely would stay again!
Firefly Haven was an incredible surprise tucked away in a beautiful setting. This I can say was the best vacation our family experienced in many years. The home was very comfortable, peaceful and relaxing. The creek that ran through the property was enough to lull you to a restful nap on the amazing twin bed porch swing. What we loved about this property was it was just enough off the main road where you are not traveling off a mountain side just to get to civilization which we have done before. The weather was perfect during our stay. It is just down the road from Fontana Lake and Finger Lake where we went kayaking and swimming. You can also rent boats but unfortunately during our stay there where none available. It was only a 15 minute drive to the quaint town of Bryson City where we were able to get groceries, meals and find some wonderful shops. Great Smokies are a short drive and we enjoyed all that they truly offer which is beyond imagination. We would love to stay again during the winter! This truly is a highly recommended property for all those that want peace and quiet!
Would definitely stay there again and highly recommend to others.
This is such a sweet little house! There is a creek right in front and an amazing porch bed! It would be just great and very safe for a family with children. Very peaceful. Michelle was very attentive and responsive.
Super cute house! Far enough away from everything to relax, but close enough to go into town and explore and have dinner. We had the best time at this cozy little get away!
We really enjoyed our stay here.
We loved the Firefly Haven home. Cute, cozy, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. Hot tub, fireplace, and swing bed were my favorites. Great for the kids to get outside and just play. Was sad to say goodbye but plan to visit again.
This home and location reminded me of something that would be in a book! It’s property and landscape have the perfect country setting. The home has so much sweet country charm, a place that you don’t want to leave. The only thing missing is the farm.
A beautiful, relaxing haven!
Thank you for providing such a comfy home for our vacation. Everything we expected was provided. It was warm, cozy, and very quiet. We enjoyed spending time in the Nantahala Forest and seeing so many beautiful waterfalls. Bryson City was a short drive away and has many interesting shops and restaurants. We would love to visit again and see the area during a different season. Highly recommended!
We only had a few days for a Fall break but this little spot was perfect. Cozy, clean and has everything you need. We had a day of rafting and the boys got a little fishing in.
The property was beautiful and we brought our 3 dogs and they loved going for walks! There was everything you needed at this cabin, even a crockpot.... which we used! Shelby was VERY helpful and accommodating :) We hope to visit again!
Wow! We were so happy with our accommodations. The owners have thought of all the details so that most anything you need is here. Beautifully furnished and decorated. Enjoyed the hot tub and the front porch swing. There was plenty of room for the five of us to spread out. We did a lot of outdoor activities. I'll warn you to bring bug spray if you plan to go outside.
House was very clean and very well provisioned. Surroundings just can't be beat. The shower is awesome too!
Firefly Haven is wonderfully appointed with everything we needed for a weekend getaway. The home was clean and cozy. Enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub after sightseeing! I highly recommend Firefly Haven.... we will be returning!
We really enjoyed our stay at Firefly Haven. It was thoughtfully equipped and felt more like staying at a friend's house than a rental. It was cozy and charming. All the furniture was very nice and the outdoor space was great too-- esp the bed-swing. We'd definitely come back-- esp in the fall.
This cabin's location couldn't be more perfect, only a few minutes to town, on the end of a very quiet road, it was wonderful. The house was clean and just as we expected from the description, hot tub was hot, and my wife absolutely loved the porch swing.
Recommend , good location , great place to stay
The owners were wonderful to work with. The house was nicely decorated and clean. The kitchen was well stocked with anything you need. The main TV did not work but there are two more and they are getting a new one to replace, that fast. We did not bring our dog and were refunded the $ with no problem. Would stay again if we come back this way! Rode the GSM train, drove the Dragon (US129), and shopped in Bryson. Overall, great stay.
We only had a few days to stay and this was an ideal little farmhouse. The weather was beautiful and the setting was perfect to enjoy the outdoor amenities as well as the indoor comforts. It is apparent that a lot of time, money and care have been spent to create the perfect atmosphere. Everything we needed was available. We really enjoyed our stay.
My husband and I stayed here for our first anniversary. Firefly Haven is a cute house that's the perfect size for a nice getaway. The babbling brook is so charming! We love that our dog was welcome to stay with us. Our stay was during the off season for this particular area but we wanted a quiet week away from everything. We only left for a grocery run and a day trip to Asheville.
Our family had a wonderful stay at the Firefly...and yes there are fireflies (which my grandchildren had never seen)...they are slippery little suckers...and hard to catch, but that's half the fun. You can sit on the porch and hear the sound of a babbling brook, in the evenings after catching Fireflies you can gather around the outdoor fireplace and make Some-Mores. The little lake is great for morning and evening swims. Lots of fun activities, tubing at Deep Creek, a must. Zip Lining great...hiking nearby wonderful. The property is beautiful...would recommend it for families or couples. Dinnie Rzepinski
This has been so far the best place I found on VRBO. Dealing with owner has been great. Location of cabine is fantastic. Nature around it is like in paradise. Propery is very clean, well maintained. I recomend this place for everyone who is searching for quite gateway to beatiful adevetures in Smoky Mt. Last night we were feeling like in dream enjoing hot tube and looking around glittering forest witn 100s of firelys blinking in the darkness. Unforgettable experience for all amy family. Thank you Shelby!
My boyfriend and I wanted to take a break from the hustle bustle and this was the perfect place. I can't tell you how much we enjoyed sipping coffee in rocking chairs on the front porch or watching our dog gallivant through the creeks. The kitchen had all we needed, the hot tub was clean and heated up for us, we grilled some ribs on the grill, and cuddled and watched movies. Bryson City is just a short 20 min drive along the most beautiful scenic Great Smokey Mountain Highway. We enjoyed stopping at little antique shops along the way and checking out the Nantahala Brewing Company taproom there. This was also a great Ingles grocery store with the best wine selection in town (if that's your sort of thing ;) ). We had a little trouble getting the air to regulate and stay at the temperature we desired (had to open the windows a couple times), but luckily night times were cool and the sound of the bubbling stream was peaceful. Since it was just us, the master suite was perfect. But the ceilings in the upstairs room are pretty low if you are trying to also sleep adults upstairs. Thanks to Shelby for her help and sharing this lovely place with us! We've already referred a friend.
Last minute trip came up and came across this while searching, prompt response, excellent communication from start to finish with booking and payment. Very detailed directions and explication of items inside the cabin and hot tub use. Very clean upon entering, and very comfortable feeling-kinda like home...Nice setting, out away from alot, but very close by to great hiking, biking and camping as well as rafting and canoeing. close to shopping at local vendors stores, and restaurants. My 2 dogs were allowed which was excellent, thats hard to find anymore...I would recommend this cabin for couples, families or anyone wanting to have a great, clean place to stay with a very good feel to it, that wants to explore the beautiful surroundings or just build a fire in the fire pit and enjoy a nice quite get away..
Michelle was extremely easy to work with. Booking was a breeze! The farm house was really well set up with everything we needed. Loved the property and, the ability to walk all around the area with no concerns. I would definitely stay there again. Very peaceful and quiet. Thank You Michelle, for making everything so easy to make our vacation a very pleasant one.
My wife and I stayed at the cabin for a week. We had a great time. We liked the front porch overlooking the creek. We were also a big fan of the fireplace in the living room. We spent a lot of time idling in front of it. The bed was comfy in the room we stayed in. There was lots of channels on the tv which was nice when we wanted to unwind after a long hike. We liked the neighborhood as it offered easy access and plenty of peace and quiet. There was lots to do in the area and not a far drive to anything. We were glad to be able to bring our pet. We will definitly be back.
My husband and I were able to book this home with little notice and the booking process was easy. We loved the cottage, it was roomy and the furniture was very nice. We enjoyed sitting on the rockers on the front porch and listening to the creek. It was very quiet and peaceful. I liked having the wifi access since I had to do a little work while away. We liked that the cottage was very close to lots of things to do. I was especially pleased that the home was pet friendly. We brought our cat and she had a ball too! We will definitly return.
My first thought when pulling up to this adorable charming farmhouse was that is was truly a unique and special gem nestled into the mountains. It sits on a very quiet bend in the road and the property is full of rolling hills and beautiful wooded views. We spent most of our time relaxing around the very beautifully appointed cozy farmhouse, the amazing fire pit and on the charming covered front porch.. it felt like being in a dream! We also LOVED the swimming lake just a short walk away... it was perfect for a cool dip in the water, paddling around in the paddle boat and playing on the dock, we had a blast! I highly recommend this house and the hostess, she was so attentive to all questions or needs that we had. If you are looking for a perfect relaxing mountain getaway, this is it!
We had a wonderful time staying here last summer. The is a modern and updated home that still feels rustic and cozy enough to sit around by the fire in the evenings and enjoy the beautiful mountain air. If you're a mountain biker, you could stay here and ride to Tsali every morning (like 10 min away). We also loved the restaurant the Cork & Bean in Bryson City. A great place!
