Cozy cabin! This one bedroom/one bathroom cabin is in a perfect location to enjoy North Idaho. The cabin is located on a private, gated road just a mile from the highway. Surrounded by fields and forest, you're sure to see elk or deer right from your front porch! When you're ready for some activity, take a half hour drive either north to Sandpoint or south to Coeur d'Alene. Both towns are regularly featured in travel magazines, and both have thriving downtown LAKESIDE areas full of locally owned shops and restaurants.
10 minutes to the east of us is Farragut Park. Located on the southern tip of Lake Pend Oreille (one of the West's largest lakes) this 4,000 acre State Park has picnic and swimming areas, hiking, Frisbee golf, a boat launch and a WWII Navy museum.
Finally-- SILVERWOOD! The Northwest's largest theme park is just 10 minutes away. Massive roller coasters, kiddie rides and a water park on 140 acres of family fun!
Comfortable Queen bed, kitchen, full bath and washer/dryer. The living room has a daybed with trundle and a sleeper sofa. It's on 20 forested acres adjacent to Cider Mountain retreat house (our large vacation rental, suitable for family reunions and large groups up to 40). The cabin can be rented separately or can be added to a Cider Mountain stay. Air conditioning, Blu-ray, DirectTV, Chromecast and Wifi.
The property had some emergent issues before we arrived. The property manager had everything fixed in a timely manner and kept communication open. This property is beautiful and quiet. I couldn’t recommend it more.
We loved our stay and can’t wait to get back. The setting was tranquil and the home was clean and well appointed. Highly recommend!
Cabin was very nice and clean. Great location close to Silverwood!
We enjoyed the stay. The place was nice and clean and had everything we needed.
We really couldn't have wished for more. Cozy, rustic, comfortable with everything you need and super responsive owners!
This is a top shelf property run by two amazing individuals. I would highly recommend it for a family reunion or large group.
This little cabin in the woods is the perfect place for you and your family! It was very clean and close enough to town to be easy to get to but far enough to get the vacation fill. The highlight was spotting the yearling black bear twice. It was my hubby and two kids and there was more than enough room for a very great rate!! I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking about a stay up north. The washer and dryer come in very handy after a long day on the lake or Silverwood. And had every amenity you could need or want. Don’t forget to get the security gate code before you are tired from travel and trying to figure out what to do. Overall very nice and would stay again!
We really enjoyed our stay in this cozy little cabin. It was way more than we expected in every way. Everything was provided and more! Clean and neat and welcoming! Thank you so much for providing such a wonderful home away from home!
We loved this little cabin. It was so cute and charming. The daybed was awesome for watching lots of money. Super clean. Beautiful surroundings/land. Close to town.
My wife and I stayed here four nights. We were lucky enough to see the sunrise every morning and the wildlife. Great location and very peaceful.
Stayed with my husband, daughter, son-in-law and our almost 3 year old grandson for a destination wedding located near the cabin. We were very pleased with the privacy the location provided and truly enjoyed the quality time we spent with our family during our stay. It felt like home with all amenities at hand for meal preparations, laundry and other daily needs required to care and entertain our grandson. Our daughter and son-in-law were also able to enjoy a peaceful rest.
We stayed at this adorable cabin for four nights and loved it! We didn't want to leave! It is so cozy and comforting and had everything we needed or could've asked for. We saw a lot of deer just outside the cabin which made it more endearing. The location was perfect for what we needed. Just loved it and hope to stay there again! Thank you so much, Corrie for sharing your beautiful cabin!
We enjoyed our stay here very much. Wildlife every morning, close to everything Northern Idaho has to offer. Perfect size for our family of four and close to Silverwood where we spent part of our vacation. We would definitely stay here again, especially because of the location and the price. Thank you!
This sweet cabin retreat takes us back in time yet has all modern day comforts. This is a place to come back to...we didn't want to leave! We hope to return for another memorable stay. Not lacking in any amenity for clean comfortable stay. JJ & J
Absolutely Amazing! Great location, full sized kitchen appliances and full sized washer and dryer. Corrie was very helpful and responded quickly to our questions. Will come again!
When we arrived we felt nothing but peace. Corrie had everything set up for us perfectly. We LOVED this place! It’s a perfect little get away place for anyone. My husband, daughter, and I stayed for 4 nights and didn’t want to leave. It’s very close to Silverwood park which was convenient for us and it was a perfect place to come back to and relax after being at a busy park all day. Beds were very comfortable, place is exceptionally clean. Fully stocked kitchen and we didn’t need to buy a thing (other than some spices). There was even a brand new BBQ/smoker for us to use. It was wonderful sitting on the porch with our coffee watching the birds and chipmunks in the morning before the crowds at the park. We can’t wait to come back!
I stayed here four nights while working on a project in the area & was pleased with my whole stay. Corrie was very helpful & accomidating. I would certainly recommend the cabin to anyone looking for some quiet R&R.
This cozy cabin was perfect for a Spring Break getaway for our family. It has a well-equipped kitchen for preparing meals, comfortable beds, and is super clean. Our boys enjoyed tromping in the woods and we had a couple of afternoon adventures at nearby Sandpoint, Farragut State Park, and TriplePlay (bowling, video games, laser tag, & indoor water park!) The cabin has great views, and our hosts even texted us to let us a moose was wandering in our direction :-) We will definitely be back!
The cabin was very nice and in a good location for exploring the area. The owners were very responsive and friendly, they even suggested some great places to eat. The cabin was in a very quiet area among the trees and very comfortable. It was a great week.
Great little place. Beautiful location.
Second time at this cabin! Quiet, clean, perfect. My family of 4 want to stay longer each time. Bike riding, stars, sunset, walks, fresh air great ammenities. Hosts are quick to respond and very kind. If they ever want to sell this cabin we'd be first in line.
There was really the best vacation we ever had with our 3 kids! Very clean and nice home in the middle of the forest, singing birds and rising sun in the morning - we defiantly want to come back here again and again after year of our busy life in the city of Calgary, Canada. And of course, he main thing for the kids was Silverwood Theme Park which is 10 minutes drive from the house. Highly recommend to everybody!
Loved staying at this cabin while we came to silverwood. Super close and quick to get to everyday. Was perfect for a family of four - plenty of room and beds to choose from. Great tv and cable service - everything you need in the kitchen - crazy comfy beds and pillows - best night of sleep I've had in a long time! Only minor issue was The wifi was a little slow and was hard to stay logged on, just had to be patient with it. We will definitely be coming back here for future silverwood stays. Highly highly recommend this great place!
We were greeted by the sounds of owls in the trees, and an eagle flying above the sprawling wheat fields. The kids chased grasshoppers in the grasses, and enjoyed riding their razors and playing soccer. Very safe road away from everything for bike rides and long walks. Morning coffee on porch was so relaxing looking at wheat fields and mountains. Corrie thought of everything, right down to ziploc bags, spices, etc. I would definitely recommend this home away from home.
We held a family reunion and rented this cabin in addition to the main property, and it was perfect for what we needed! Loved having a kitchen to work in as well as a washer and dryer! The owners were awesome to work with!
Enjoyed our stay very much. Would definitely return there. Owners were very accommodating and helpful.
We had an amazing time staying at the gate house cabin at Cider Mtn. The view of the snow covered mountains was stunning. The cabin was clean, cozy, and perfect. Very comfortable beds, great kitchen and bathroom. The owners were very kind and helpful and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay there again.
Thank you for allowing us to stay on your beautiful property. Everything was perfect from the cozy cabin, beautiful scenery and gracious hosts. We usually stay at this cabin when we're in town. Each trip is delightful and we will be back again. Thank you.
Very comfortable. Perfectly located.
Corrie was an amazing host sharing this lovely cabin with us. The cabin had everything you could ask for including beautiful views. Corrie even let us know to watch out for the northern lights over the cabin on our last night. I would recommend the cabin to any friends looking for a little piece and quiet out side of Couer d'Alene and Silverwood.
Enjoyed very much this newly built or renovated (not sure which) cabin in Athol, ID. The best sound sleep ever in the quiet solitude and the comfortable bed. Although the weather while there was warm, the ac kept us comfortable, as well as the fan in the bedroom. If there in the fall or winter, looks like the propane stove would keep you warm and cozy. The large flat screen tv with it's many channels, kept us entertained in the evenings. Enjoyed the deck in the mornings when it was cool enough to sit in the sun and read and/or watch the chipmunks play. It is located conveniently between Sandpoint and Coeur d' Alene (20 minutes or so each way) where we enjoyed many good meals and shopping. Good breakfast at Country Boy Cafe a short drive into Athol, as well as wonderful ice cream cones at Small Town Market across the street. If you cook at the cabin, there is everything needed to do so. Loved that there was a washer/dryer for our use in the cabin as well. The only suggestion we would have is to bring your own drinking water. Over all everything was top notch and very comfortable. Jim & Dianna Spokane
This place was great and a perfect fit for our family. Was a quick trip to Silverwood. Owners are very responsive via text.
We enjoyed adding this cabin to the large adjacent property for our family reunion. Very self-sufficient and well-equipped, but still convenient to the main property. All the amenities and excellent service we've come to appreciate from the owners!
Second stay and just as great as the first. Nice cabin, comfortable, with all you could need. Fantastic owners, polite and gracious.
The Cider Mountain Gatehouse was perfect for our short North Idaho trip. The cabin was well stocked and very clean. The location was just as we had hoped, off the beaten path, quiet and surrounded by nature. Corrie was very accommodating and very nice. Thank you for making our stay perfect.
It was an excellent stay, cabin is very nice and an exceptional value. You are close to things without feeling crowded. All the room you need to breath and feel the privacy of the area. Regarding the other review - there are good, heavy curtains on the sliding glass door.
We enjoyed our stay in this little cabin just north of Athol. Owner, Corrie, was very nice and informative about the area. Only suggestion would be to put some sort of drapery on the sliding glass doors. We would stay again and bring our dog next time.
2nd time we have been there, love this little cabin. Very peaceful, very clean, very comfortable, and the surroundings were beautiful. Great for a 3 day getaway.
What a cozy, comfortable little spot to spend a few days. We brought our horses and rode the trails through the trees and up on the high places surrounding the Cider Mountain property. We didn't begin to see it all - and there's talk of expanding the trail system even more. On another day we went to Farragut State Park just a few miles away and rode around in the big outdoor arena and explored the very well-maintained trails at the park. Again, there was more to see than our time would allow. I guess we'll have to go back -- :) The cabin and setting were everything the other reviews said; clean, neat, comfortable, and well equipped. It's easy to get to, but a long way from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We WILL be back!
We absolutely loved our stay in this little cabin! It was so well kept that we thought that it was brand new. Very clean, very comfortable, and the surroundings were beautiful. We used this as a base of opperations while we were searching for property in the surrounding area, and its location was ideal. Very accessible.
This is a wonderful little cabin in the woods. It is right in the middle of everything. About twenty minute to Sandpoint or Couer d' Alene. Only thing really missing is a BB-Q.
My wife and I took our 5 year to Silverwood and this little cabin worked out perfect for us. Really quick drive to and from the park. Nice view from the cabin. Our son had fun looking for deer and other wildlife that would wonder by. We will definetly come back for another stay.
Our whole stay at this cabin in Athol was a real joy. The owners are easy to work with, and the area is gorgeous. The cabin itself is quite nice. For the price, it is quite a bargain. The fireplace heats the area quite well. The beds are super comfortable. All kinds of supplies are to be found in the kitchen. Every square inch of that place is pretty nice. There's a great deck for drinking coffee on in the morning. A super huge television with Direct TV. There is a washer and dryer, which we didn't use. The bathroom is spacious, with a cool screen that shows you the security camera footage outside in case a bear comes by or something. One morning we looked out the window and saw elk grazing across the road. It's a very quiet, out of the way, area. Not a lot of people around. Also, it has a fenced back yard and doggy door. No complaints from us.
This property is truly one of a kind for a family reunion or vacation headquarters for an extended family or group. Our family has a reunion every two years have have rented properties in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. This property was by far the best we have experienced. We would recommend this property without hesitation to anyone looking for lots of room in a mountain forest setting, and especially to large family groups with children. It is set in beautiful surroundings with all the privacy one could ask for (no other homes can be see from the property). Silverwood Theme Park is only about 12 minutes away. Hayden Lake (relatively warm water with a park and great boating facilities) is close by as well. During the week we enjoyed hiking, boating on Hayden Lake, two lake cruises, a mine tour, a day at Silverwood Theme Park, and all kinds of sports and in-house games (including video arcade games and pool competitions) at the lodge. The mostly new lodge and cabins were very clean, well laid out, and well maintained. All kinds of sports facilities and equipment for everyone from small kids to adults is provided. And there is plenty of room to use all of it. The owners (who are very pleasant and helpful) live in the area and went out of their way to make our stay one to remember. Our family will definitely be returning in the future.
