This was the PERFECT place for our little get away. So peaceful and quiet. The lodge was very beautiful and so spacious. We definitely plan to come back again!
Although it’s been over a year since we’ve had a real vacation, this has been the best ever! We decided to unplug and unwind and just enjoy each other. Our cabin was secluded sitting on 30 acres of peaceful private land with amazing mountain views. I can’t believe the boys didn’t make too much of a fuss because we hardly had cellphone & internet service but they made the best of their time outdoors, playing board games and chatting with us.
Wife and I were looking for somewhere to enjoy the woods and have some land to let our two German Shepards run free. This place did the job. Trails around the property are perfect - keep an eye out for all the animal tracks. Creek was beautiful and accessible by short walk. Keep in mind... you’re in the woods, so be careful if you have purse puppies running around. The house/lodge was beautiful and plenty of space. If you want to get to a place to experience true nature and look out over an amazing view, then this is a good spot. Nature has a way of touching your soul - this place will certainly have you rethinking your priorities in life. Thanks for a great stay - we will probably check out one of the other cabins on the property next time.
5 star. Even better than the pictures show.
If you like trails, hot tubs, riding on back roads and quiet - you’ll love this place!
Great home with lots of sleeping options for the two young families that stayed. Only complaints: lots of flies in the house and wish there had been foil and ziplocs... minor. Great walking paths and great map in the lodge showing where they are... would be great to have sigange out at their starting points. Thank you for a great place to unwind!
We loved the property. Such beautiful views and loved not having anyone near us. The house is spacious and well stocked. We loved the fire pit and the fact that firewood was provided. The property connects to hiking trails so it is nice not to have to drive anywhere. Driving up to the property is a bit rough with a one lane, steep, unpaved road, but it was definitely worth it. Our only complaints are that the pillows in master were pretty awful, the cleaning of the house could be a bit more thorough, and we missed having nightstands next to the master bed. We will be back!
We had an extraordinary time at this cabin. Beautiful house that was wonderfully stocked with everything we needed in a secluded and quiet location. It was an amazing time!
Our manager was helpful and had answers to all questions. We loved the well appointed spaces in the lodge. Lots of places to play and relax. Great time around firepit(wood provided btw) it seems the management thought of everything.
We had an absolutely amazing time!!! We are a large blended family of 15 and there was plenty for all of us to do! We enjoyed the pool table, hot tub, and campfire. Our favorite activity was hide and seek in the dark. The cabin was beautiful! The property manager was easily reached. My daughter left one of her shoes and he kindly mailed it to us! We had an amazing time and look forward to making this a tradition. Thank you!!!
The cabin was big and roomy for our extended family retreat. There were 7 adults and 2 teenagers plus a pack of dogs. Celebrating New Years together is a family tradition and we were glad we could all to it under one roof again this year. While the house has just about every for a extended stay, the living room and game room has been well used and needs replacement soon. Overall, a good cabin for a get away and family get together.
We absolutely loved our stay at the Lodge. It was so very spacious and accommodating for two families of 5 and our two dogs. The cabin was fully stocked with everything we needed on our 3 night stay. We cooked every meal in and the kitchen had everything we needed - pots, pans, dishes, utensils, colander, cookie sheets, etc... The view out the back is breathtaking. I could sit on the back porch for hours just gazing across the valley. What a great way to recharge from our city life. The outdoor amenities at the Lodge are numerous. Hot tub, horse shoe pit, swing set, top notch fire pit with complementary firewood, plenty of flat ground to play spike ball or frisbee or touch football and plenty of outdoor chairs for everyone. Also, plenty of roads/trails to hike around the grounds. We cooked with the outdoor grill and it worked perfectly. The inside of the Lodge is just as nice as the outside. We were greeted with a wonderfully lit 9 foot tall Christmas tree!! What a nice touch. The light switches are all labeled which I really appreciate in a VRBO. There were plenty of spare pillows and blankets for everyone. There is even a 2nd refrigerator which came is super handy for our large group. There are also alot of small touches that are nice like puzzles, coloring books, board games, cards, movies, etc... Note - I didn't realize when I booked the Lodge that there are actually several cabins on the property. Each are secluded and you have plenty of privacy but there are other people out there. All in all, this is a top notch rental and our Host Trent was very responsive to any questions we had leading up to our arrival. We would definitely book the Lodge again.
Plenty of room and the view is beautiful. Lots of space and just an overall great experience. The communication with the owner was wonderful and the nearest town is not too far away. Great place !
We loved being out in nature... the long walks and laughter around the fire... this spacious home was meticulously outfitted with everything you need but food! We were welcomed with a beautiful Christmas tree and music playing! It is a ways from grocery stores and restaurants but that was just what we wanted for our family Christmas get together... the separate place for teens was great... I cannot say enough about this beautiful property.
We absolutely loved our stay! The view was worth the drive. We made campfires, loved the hot tub and how spacious everything was!
The owner went above and beyond to accommodate us all the way up until the day before when I tested positive for COVID. Unfortunately my immediate family and I did not get to attend, but our family still went and had an amazing time. They raved on how nice everything was. We are going to try to find another time got us all to back. They said everything was great. The only concern they had was with the hot water. They said it took a very long time for the water to get hot. Not sure if the temperature of the water heater was down to low or what but they felt like they had to run a lot of water to get it even warm. Overall it was a great trip!
The property was well maintained. Had a problem with upstairs air conditioner which was promptly seen about. Christmas tree perfectly set the scene. Well stocked kitchen. Firepit made relaxing outside conversations. Swing set made this perfect for all ages.
The house is beautiful and the views are breathtaking. The house has everything you need and more. We had a great stay and would definitely will be back. It is a good 40 minutes back to Hochatown and the lake but the privacy of the location is worth it. We had no issues at all!
We loved having all the space for our large family! The location was exactly what we wanted, remote and beautiful! Can’t wait to book this one again.
We rented this cabin for a few of our guests for our wedding at the other cabin. I was super happy at how “close” they were compared to everything else around which was great for us! This cabin is just as beautiful and who doesn’t love a king size bed amiright
This cabin is absolutely beautiful, inside and out. Plenty of room for my 5 kids to spread out. We brought our Aussie (dog) too—no fenced yard, but also no busy streets at all close by. They all loved running and playing games around the cabin, sitting by the campfire and in the hot tub (well, the dog didn’t get in the hot tub of course!) The trails were pretty overgrown, so exploring the entire 30 acre property wasn’t really an option, but we were able to explore a little. The view from the back porch is breathtaking. Cabin was sparkling clean, with just about every amenity you could wish for and then some. The photos don’t really do it justice. Really loved this cabin.
Nice house. Beautiful scenery.
Easy check-in, great views, and extremely comfortable.
We lived this cabin and the size was perfect for my family. We will be back
The place was very spacious and had an amazing few. The only complaint that I have is to check the grounds outside. We had children with us and found several areas with broken glass in the yard.
Cabin views are amazing. Pictures don’t do it justice. The teens loved the pool table and game area. Adults loved the fire pit and comfy beds.
Cabin is awesome! It’s a 30 minute drive to the lake and most activities but it’s worth it!
This cabin is absolutely beautiful. And the property is gorgeous also.
Overall we enjoyed the property very much. I think there could be more seating in the living room as there was not really enough for 6 adults to be comfortable. And the 2 beds in the other bedrooms that they say are queen size beds are actually only full size. And they were uncomfortable for a couple to sleep in. They need to put in queen beds as advertised. The property manager was very helpful and responded very quickly when emailed. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a nice quiet getaway.
This getaway was absolutely lovely and a perfect way to spend a family getaway during the pandemic. Absolutely beautiful views and tons of space for every member of the family!
We were looking for a change of scenery within 3-4 hours of Dallas. If you’re looking for a relaxing peaceful getaway this place is a hidden gem. Gorgeous house and gorgeous property. We enjoyed playing pool and an old style Atari, horse shoes tetherball, and we used the hot tub that was very clean. We even made a fire in July for s’more’s :) Food options in the area are limited so we brought most of our food - The kitchen has everything you could need. The property manager was great. Very responsive to our questions. As much as I wish we could turn the Internet off for a few days - we needed Internet access for my daughters online class. The Internet speed at the house is very slow, however we were able to pull off her Zoom class by allowing her to be on by herself. Property manager was very responsive to options within Smithville and BROKEN BOW if we needed them.
Large cabin home with scenic views. secluded and private away from the Bussell of Broken Bow but only 30 min from town.
We enjoyed the property and its remote location. The floor plan is excellent for families needing space for children and adults. We enjoyed our evenings by the fire pit and using the hot tub. Hochatown and state park were 35 minutes away and easy to get to for activities away from the property. There is some deferred maintenance that should be addressed: significant tears in screens on screened porch, old outdoor cushions; the dishwasher was broken and not repaired during our stay. These are minor and overall we would recommend the house.
Very nice place. Super clean and organized. Well equipped from WIFI to kitchen supplies all you need to relax without leaving the premises. Would definitely stay there again. Worth the little extra drive past Broken Bow.
This is the ideal place if you want to get away and just relax with family and friends. It is very isolated from everything.
Pictures don’t do the cabin justice. We enjoyed our stay.. such a beautiful place. Planning on booking again for the fall!
The cabin had plenty of space for us, the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. The view from the back porch was amazing & breath taking! Even from upstairs the view was beautiful. The hot tub was clean & already warm when we got there. I would highly recommend this place to any & everyone who says they want to rent a cabin. I will definitely be back!!
Was a very nice place with an unbeatable backyard view. Only issue was a couple of the toilets needed to be cleaned better.
We had a great time staying at the Cabin, just a quick getaway before our Baseball season starts for our boys! It was so quiet and peaceful. Hope to comeback next year!
Great overall experience. Beautiful view and very peaceful. We will for sure go back.
We really enjoyed kickball games in the yard, a walk up and down the road, and the misty scenery that greeted us each morning.
We spent a blissful four nights and five days here with our family over spring break. This breathtaking mountain lodge was just the respite we longed for. From check in to check out, every step of the process was a snap! Immaculately clean inside. Overwhelming views everywhere you look. Truly a lil slice of heaven. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your exquisite vacation home. We made memories to last a lifetime!
This place was perfect for a multi-family getaway. The house is set up perfectly for 3 families w/ kids. Would definitely stay here again. Beautiful view from the backyard. Tip: We received the address for the property in the check-in email which was 1980 Hwy 4, Smithville, OK. When we got to this address, there were a number of cabins but none of them matched the description we were looking for. We drove around this area for 45 mins but never found the cabin. Finally I looked at the email again and it kept referring to the cabin as Cedar Ridge. I typed Cedar Ridge Lodge into Google and it showed us a property that was a couple of miles away. Went to that address and there was the cabin. So when you get the confirmation, don't use the address listed. Just google Cedar Ridge Lodge and you will get there without any issues.
We always want to escape from the crowds and find a location for a family to come together and enjoy nature! This place is it! Large spacious living, on a quiet plot of land, no traffic and beautiful view!
This house is fabulous and the surroundings are beautiful. There’s a lot to do at the house and Hochatown also has activities and restaurants. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. Perfect for older kids/teens to have their own wing. I would definitely recommend Cedar Ridge Lodge.
The overall atmosphere was wonderful. It provided a perfect space and backdrop for our wedding and honeymoon. The forest is maybe too dense to hike through, but to just sit at the fire and watch the sunrise or sunset was an exceptional experience. I hope to come back some day.
Renting was easy
We had a great time with the family
Pictures cannot and do not do this property and the views justice! It IS a bit off the beaten path (and even the paved road!) but the trade off far exceeds any inconveniences. This place was absolute perfection for three families (cousins) to spend a week before returning to their homes for school. Would love to stay here over and over!
The property view from back patio is breathtaking! The best part is morning coffee on the back patio in the peace of the morning sunrise. Lots of room for everyone. We had a wonderful time. The only problem was air in upstairs bedroom was not working. Highly recommend.
Beautiful house in a nice quiet area. The Dollar General nearby had everything we needed for things we forgot. The upstairs area with the pool table and bunk beds was great - quiet and dark for good sleeping!!
This is a great lodge with plenty of space, nice rooms, and a beautiful view looking out the back porch/patio area. Trees all around make this lodge special. The grandkids had plenty of room to run and play inside and outside. The outside yard is large and very nicely mowed all around the lodge. We had plenty of space to play catch with the baseball, throw footballs, play horseshoes and other games as well as took advantage of the fire pit and grill to make S'mores and cook out. The road is a little bumpy after you get off the highway to get to the cabin, but that is because it is more secluded than others. Some reviews reported problems with TV reception, phones, Wi-fi etc., but we didn't have any major problems with any of these. Great time enjoyed by all. Thanks Trent for a great place to spend time with the family for our 50th! We definitely recommend this lodge for large families who want to get away for a great time.
The cabin is amazing. We stayed in the Issi cabin on the property last year and this one didn’t disappoint either. The cabin is perfect for a large family. The views are amazing and Trent is great as a manager. Will definitely stay again.
This place was amazing! Beyond our expectations. We will definitely stay again!
We enjoyed our stay and were very impressed with cleanliness and amenities of the home. It was a bit off the beaten path but we loved the peace and quiet the property offered. Beautiful views from the backyard.
Our family of adult children and grandchildren totaling 14 stayed for four days. This was a very nice and secluded place. We all had a great time and would recommend it to any large group or family! The views were absolutely beautifully, spacious cabin, so much to do inside and out!
We loved our experience! Beautiful view, wonderful amenities, and great property.
The house was perfect! The view is nice. The family had a great time. It was a little difficult to find because we arrive after dark and the signs are small. But overall it was great!
This was the perfect property for a weekend away with kids and friends. Plenty of room indoors and out! Nice hiking in the area and a short drive to Broken Bow Lake. We would definitely stay again.
When we found Cedar Ridge Cabin, we found it all! We needed room to sleep eat and play for Dad, Mom, 6 adult siblings, 3 spouses, and a baby! The house offered a king master, 2 queen + twin bedrooms, and a bonus room over the garage with a full bed plus 2 sets of bunk beds. Three full baths. 2 half baths. A fully loaded kitchen for meal prep for a crowd. Large picture windows with a gorgeous view of the Ouachita Mountains. We loved our time at the cabin and so will you!
This cabin was beautiful beyond what we expected , really clean and nice . Enjoy are stay planning on going back for Christmas. Nice back yard for kids and trails near by to walk never a boring moment
We stayed for three nights with our family friends. We really enjoyed taking walks and exploring around the property and playing games at the lodge. The house was perfect for our needs and very comfortable. We will definitely be back!
We had an amazing stay at a very beautiful cabin. Waking up to fantastic views of the mountains, while kicking back in a spacious cabin, nestled on a large private estate is why we think this is one of the best places that we’ve stayed at. We love coming up to Beaver’s Bend to meet-up with our friends and family, but the area is becoming very popular and is getting busier. This cabin offered the perfect retreat for us. The place was well-appointed with everything we could have needed. All we had to do was pick-up groceries from town and we were set. Our group loves to cook, so it was nice to have some quality cookware that made the stay more enjoyable. Although there was a large gas grill and smoker outside, we opted not to cook outside since it was still a bit too chilly. The kids had a blast running around and exploring the property. Everyone really enjoyed the fire pit, playing horseshoes, making smores and seeing the brightly lit stars that we rarely get to see anywhere else. We can’t wait to come back!
We visited the property for new years celebrations. The property owner was very helpful and understanding. Spacious property for adults and kids. Very nice view from property and nearby creek is walking distance. Would love to visit this property again in the future.
We really enjoyed our stay. Christmas was all we wanted it to be. The property was awesome!
This was a wonderful place for our family Christmas gathering. There were 11 of us and it was so spacious we never felt like we were on top of each other. Everything we needed was there and it was decorated beautifully for Christmas. We loved it and wouldn’t change a thing.
We love this part of the country and try to make it back to visit family.
Property manager answered questions promptly, property was well equipped and furnished. The elk mount is no longer in the home. The travel time to lake grocery store was not bad. My favorite part was the seclusion. This would be a great winter, spring, summer, and fall destination. Overall great trip! Will book.again.
The house was perfect and secluded!
Very nice lodge. Roads leading to it our rough but other than that great place to stay!
We thoroughly enjoyed the cabin. It had everything we needed. Plenty of firewood and Trent helped us find what we needed. About 25-30 minutes away from the big lake but very secluded and no one else will bother you. 1. The flies on the back porch were crazy. Not sure what attracted them as there was no food or trash but they were everywhere. Maybe a few fly bags would help? I’ve never seen anything like it. 2. There was only 1 trash can to put the trash bags in. By the end of our weekend we had 4-6 large bags of trash stacked inside. Another trash can would be helpful for those staying more than 2 nights. Other than that the cabin was amazing.
1st of all starting with the -ves. 1. The address seems not recognized by Google Maps and Garmin GPS. We were in 3 cars using different maps and all took us to same location, which is at least 3-4 miles away from the original place. Also, there are no markings or boards on roadside, which will lead to the spot. We got help from 1 local family, who drove us to the location. 2. The TVs are in very bad condition. No batteries in remote, not SMART enough to use Casting. 3. The pool table, ques and chalks are in pathetic condition. Now the +ves. 1. Vast area, great scenic beauty. 2. Cleanliness of the property is very good. 3. Kitchen appliances are much more than you will find in common places. I have been to at least 10-15 condos, lodges and this is leading by miles in terms of variety and quantity. 4. Huge collction of spices, condaments in the kitchen. 5. The rooms are just fantastic. 6. The wall decors are very eye catchy, specially the antique thermometer. Overall, I will say it is a very good place for Weekend Outing. But, please take the exact co-ordinates from the owner, or call him for the direction from Cemetery well in advance. There will be no telephone connection over there, even ATnT will not work.
My whole family absolutely loved this place! Nothing negative! We will be back!
We enjoyed everything about our trip. The cabin was beautiful, has everything you need, was very private and secluded with beautiful views.
The house is fantastic for a large group, plenty of beds and bathrooms, great screened porch. We had the unfortunate luck of bad weather with heavy rains so the road in and the Directv had some issues, but we still enjoyed the place. It has a few maintenance issues that kept me from giving it a 5-star, but nothing that would keep us from going back.
This property was great . Everything was great . Nice furnishings and was clean. The pictures don't to it justice. Our family really enjoyed or stay and our host was very nice and helpful.
Spent the weekend here with my closest friends, trying to get away from the city life for a bit. This home and the views are stunning!!! I loved it so much that I am already trying to plan a trip back with my family!! You will not be disappointed!!
My family stayed at Cedar Ridge over the Fourth of July weekend. The cabin was beautiful and the views were spectacular. The pictures did not do the property justice. The kitchen was well equipped for large groups. We loved the screened porch and spent our evenings there, playing games. The bonus room was awesome for the kids. We would definitely recommend this cabin for large family groups. We loved it so much that we want to come back next year.
