Exclusive log lake home nestled among the 100 foot pine trees on gorgeous Agate Lake and only 2 hours from Minneapolis and St. Paul.
3 bedrooms (sleeps 8) and an open floor plan overlooking the lake with 2 rock fireplaces and finished exclusively in knotty pine. 400 ft. of shoreline and 6 acres of wooded privacy located next to hiking trails and one of the top mountain biking trails in the nation, Cuyuna Mountain Bike Trails.
The main floor includes the kitchen and adjoining great room with vaulted ceilings, rock fireplace, and numerous windows providing scenic views of Agate Lake. Or spend your time in the screen porch or on the deck to thoroughly enjoy the 'outdoors'. The family room in the lower walk-out level, includes a pool table and second rock fireplace.
You can also enjoy the 2 satellite TVs and DVD players, great swimming and fishing, large dock and swimming raft, fishing boat, canoe, paddle boat, basketball, horseshoes, tetherball, bonfire pit, gas and charcoal grill, and my personal favorite.... a hammock.
Agate Lake is a wonderfully clear and picturesque lake with a wooded island just to the right of our lake home. The lake has 15 feet of water clarity and a sandy lake bottom and shore..... perfect for swimming, fishing, lounging or just enjoying nature. As this is a private lake (i.e., no public boat launch), the privacy and quality of fishing is remarkable. Since this is a private lake, we cannot accommodate launching your boat, if you have one. Serpent Lake, which is only one mile away, however, has two public boat launches.
15 miles to all the great shopping, restaurants and golf in Brainerd/Nisswa/Pequot Lakes and only 3 miles to Deerwood or Crosby, the 'antique capital of the world'. Local golf courses include Cuyuna Hills Country Club - 5 minutes away and 10 minutes to golf courses at Ruttgers Resort.
Excellent property nicer than the photos even. Spacious and very well equipped.. amazing views and very secluded. Easy 2 miles into 2 towns that have all you could need. Great golfing nearby.. super clean clear lake. Tons of fish from dock or the boat.. the fire pit area has amazing view.. ultimate peaceful. Plenty of board games and movies and pool table fun if a rainy day.. not one thing to complian about.. thanks again soo much.
An outstanding experience in a beautiful, lakefront property.
Beautiful surroundings! Quiet, loved the screened porch.
Property was exactly as described. All very comfortable and well appointed.
The description of this beautiful home dosen't even begin to compare to how gorgeous it truly is. You have to see it to believe it. The week my family and I got to spend at this home at Agate Lake was better than Disney Land. From the minute we walked into the home our jaws dropped and we knew we were going to have a wonderful time. From the private location of the home, the private dock, rowboat, paddle boat, all literally just as described. The 8 days we were there, we cought fish EVERY day. Crosby is only minutes away for most all of our needs from groceries to gas and bait, and a Walmart only a short 20 miles from the lake house. This is absolutely by far one of the best vacations we have ever had and already are talking about making this our regular annual place to spend our vacations. My only regret was that we weren't able to thank the gracious owners in person for providing such a beautiful home for our stay. Thank you so much. My family and I HIGHLY recommend this hidden away jem to anyone, you wont be disappointed!
This was a great getaway even though the temperatures were a bit lower than we hoped. It was nice to relax and just enjoy the scenery off the lake and the changing of the seasons. Thanks
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we loved the cabin, the tranquil setting, the lake, and the great fishing. Our kids had a great time playing tetherball and horseshoes and spent almost the whole day in the lake swimming, canoeing and with the paddle boat! We will definitely be coming back!
The house was beautiful! All of the bedrooms and bathroom were spacious, nicely decorated and very clean. Loved the open concept for the family and the screened porch was great. All amenities were provided. Not a good swimming area due to weeds but the beach at Serpent lake was a short drive away. Fishing was awesome and the Cuyuna bike trails were amazing. Loved our stay!
We were very excited to head up north and knowing based on reviews and pictures that we were going to stay a a great place. However, what we experienced exceeded our expectations! Everything was perfect...home, amenities, ambience, activities, weather and the ability to bring our fur-babies with us. We kept busy hiking, fishing, napping, playing games, campfires, agate hunting (not because it is Agate Lake!), listening to the birds, etc.... I myself was even tempted to go swimming as the water was so warm even at this time of year. The fishing on the lake is fantastic! We caught the huge sunfish and crappies. (Honest, I'm not kidding. Took pictures, and then released them.) Mother Nature was kind enough to provide us during the week the changing of the leaves from green to yellows, oranges and red. It was beautiful. Our fur-babies would also like to thank the owners for providing chipmunks to play with. Chasing them kept them so busy, along with the hiking. They were lights out early each night. Amenities in the home were fantastic. Everything you need is provided. Do not worry about the one bathroom. It is set up perfectly that we never had an issue. I have already told my family members about this place and recommend highly to come up here. All the kids will love it! We will definitely be back! Thanks again for allowing us to relax in your home.
Easy to find the house, in the country but close to towns. Ate at Croft Pub and Grub in Crosby all you can eat fish and shrimp Friday. Experienced the Mille Lacs Casino, antiquing in Brainered. Went out in the canoe everyday, our guests used the paddle boat. Loved the smallness of the lake. Made a fire in the fire pit several nights. Nicely shaded from the afternoon sun, but still a great view of the lake. The bathroom configuration was ideal for more than one couple. Great kitchen, ate in the sun porch everyday. Coffee in the mornings on the deck watching the lake and listening to the Loons. Wonderful stay. Thank you.
We really enjoyed our stay at this nice cabin out in the woods. Plus it was close to Crosby and Deerwood where my father grew up so for me that was especially nice. We had a rotating door of a couple of guests every day or two. The fire pit was great and amenities quite nice, including a kitchen with everything you need to make great meals, 2 TV's and a pool table both got used. Both the inside screened patio and the out side patios were taken advantage of as well. There is a nice big wooden swing which was a nice touch. The view is absolutely fabulous, I would go back for that alone. My son in-law also caught a nice Northern so we had a surf and turf dinner one night. We all caught fish (Sunfish, Bass and Northern) right from the dock so that is another big plus for this cabin. And we also used the fishing boat that is tied to the dock with a trolling motor we brought with. But my 80 year old mother came one night and there was no handrail on the stairs up to the main floor so it was a bit of a struggle for her and she took one look down the 24 steps to get to the lake and that was as far as she could go. The dock was nice and stable and I enjoyed sitting down there. And while there was a nice swimming/diving dock close to swim to, there was no easy way in and out of the water because there is no beach just some pretty large rocks going up the hill. But our daughter and her dog got in off the dock and swam around and she was able to boost herself and her dog up onto the dock. The dog absolutely loved it and so did our daughter. All in all if you are looking for a nice place to escape too this is the place, you just need to be aware of the stairs. Also the shower floor is slippery, be careful. P.S. The bathroom setup is great, easy for a big group to use.
Beautiful spacious cabin with many amenities. Just the perfect size for my family with three teenagers and two dogs! The kitchen is well stocked with cooking tools/pots & pans for us foody people. Loved the screened in porch! Spent many hours out there. Excellent selection of movies/games available. Great sleeping accomodations. The only reason for 4/5 stars is that we were a bit disappointed with the lake. Lots of weeds. Had to rake it out frequently. Not much of a beach either. Drops off rather quickly. Depended solely on the dock for access to the lake.
We took our daughter with her family. The children included an 8 year old and 4 teenagers. It was a perfect family vacation. The lake was very clean and clear. The house was furnished very nicely. The only thing we wished it would have had would have been a dishwasher. The little town of Crosby was only 2 miles away and we could get anything we may have forgotten there.
My family had an absolutely wonderful time at this beautiful house. We're interested in booking again next summer!
We rented this home after Labor Day weekend. Needed some lake time after a year of preparing for my daughter's wedding. This was the perfect place. While we were a little disappointed in some of the apparent changes made after the Labor Day weekend (shortened dock, and sparse kitchen), it was still a very comfortable stay. We made good use of the fireplace on some cool nights, were entertained by the squirrels, and even witnessed a show by a bald eagle fishing in front of the cabin. It was breathtaking. We made use of the row boat, but actually caught more fish right from the dock. Lots of comforts, games , books, etc. And the mirror over the kitchen sink that reflects back to the lake...genius! I would highly recommend for a relaxing getaway or a fun family vacation. You won't be disappointed.
This lake home and property are exactly as listed in description and came with everything that we needed to stay for a week. The 3 kids, husband, dog and I all had a nice and relaxing week up here...great place for a get away!! Owners were great to work with as well...we had a small maintenance problem the first night there and within a matter of hours of us contacting them on it they took care of the problem (exceeding our expectations and going above and beyond). We would definitely recommend this place for anyone who is looking to stay at a lake home on a gorgeous, peaceful lake with beautiful and secluded surroundings!
We had a relaxing week at this lake home on Agate Lake. They provided us with everything you could imagine. Fishing was great, weather was good, and the cabin was absolutely lovely. We especially enjoyed all the pictures, etc. in the cabin - all in very good taste. Had alot of fun with their sign, BE NICE, OR LEAVE ... (kids sometimes needed a reminder)!! Enjoyed the swimming and boating activities and nearby Cuyunna bike trail! The campfire pit (with lots of seating) was great in the evenings. Beautiful view of the lake from the cabin. Quiet lake with private setting. Just what we wanted. Plan to stay here again!
We had a lovely stay in this cabin on Agate Lake. The cabin is beautifully-appointed, with three large bedrooms, and two large family spaces with fireplaces and tvs. It's perfect for entertaining as the large ground-level family room downstairs accommodates kids well, and the adults can remain upstairs, either indoors, in the screen-in porch or outdoors . Great location just a stairs away from a lovely, private lake. Owners have done a great job providing activities (tvs, dvd players, lots of dvds, and board games indoors; lots of boats, swimming pier, fire-pit outside). Kitchen well-stocked for chefs. No washer/dryer or dish-washer on premises, but there is a wash-fold facility in Crosby (5 mins away) and a laundromat. Great biking nearby too. On rainy days, we drove to Brainerd and Nisswa (about 35 mins away).
