We had an amazing time at this cozy cabin in the woods about 20 minutes from Sunday River Ski Resort. The owners were super attentive and quick to respond with any questions we had. The house is well-appointed and very comfortable. It has plenty of room to spread out and the hot tub was a wonderful bonus after a long day on the slopes! I'd love to stay here again!
The house was stunning and had everything you could need to cook, clean and have fun! Great distance to Sunday River. Dianne and I communicated often and very well! Would highly recommend staying and will definitely be back!
Beautiful and fairly private location to visit in the fall. The property was very clean and cozy and had everything you could need during your stay. We had a wonderful time!
The property was everything we were hoping for and more. Communication with owner was fabulous. We couldn't get over how quiet it was. Our stay was exactly what we needed. Loved the area as well. Lots of things to do and small towns were fantastic!
The house is located in a very scenic area great for all outdoor adventures but is also cozy enough to just stay in Love the hot tub in the outdoor gazebo
If your looking for a wonderful experience nestled in the woods than look no further. This cabin and property is gorgeous. This is our second year staying here and it won’t be our last. We have nothing but good things to say about this property and experience here at the cabin. It’s hard to find a place where you want to keep coming back. So definitely don’t miss out on creating your memories by passing this place by!
The cabin was wonderful. The hot tub was amazing! Diane was very responsive. No complaints. Family of five had a great time!
Great place to stay
My family so enjoyed our stay in Bethel. The house is spacious, and just lovely. We felt right at home. We had everything we needed. The hot tub was so fun! And there was lots to do in the area. We found a great swimming hole! We can’t wait to come again!
We spent great time near the fire pit and the new spacious jacuzzi, the kitchen had everything we needed for grilling and cooking.
Property was very clean and pretty. Had to contact owner a couple of times and she was very responsive.
The house very cute and a perfect size for all of our family. Kitchen was very spacious and had plenty of seating for us all to sit as a family. The owner was kind enough to send a list of places visit nearby. We were disappointed to find out that the hot tub panel was not working which made changing the temp difficult. We did receive an email the day of our trip letting us know this was broken. When we arrived the pull out couch was broken so our kids ended up on an air mattress instead. The grill was also missing the middle knob which prevented us from being able to use the middle burner. The knobs on the side were also loose making it difficult to turn up the heat so cooking for 10 people took a little longer. Overall the house was comfortable enough and we enjoyed our stay.
We had such a great time at this property! Cabin was beautiful and clean. Really enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit!
All the amenities were provided for home cooked meals, games, bedding, and bath. The location is a little further from town, and Sunday River, than we previously thought but the roads leading to and from were easy to travel. We were vacationing during the coronavirus pandemic so the isolation was a true benefit. We definitely enjoyed skiing and hiking and being together as a family!
The best words to describe this house is adorable. Everything was as expected. The house was clean and had all the comforts of home. Our favorite parts of the house were the hot tub and gas stove. The most concerning time was getting a foot of snow and having a two wheel drive van. The snow removal was fantastic but a four wheel drive vehicle at this house is a must. We very much enjoyed the house and our stay. Thank you!
Home owners delivered a a great that was warm and inviting! Plenty of room for all!
We loved skiing at Sunday River and were delighted each evening to return to this beautiful cabin located in a quiet neighborhood. Our group of 5 spanning three decades was easily accommodated with comfortable furnishings and linens, and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals at home. Thank you Diane for sharing your beautiful cabin with our family. We hope to return again next year!
We had a wonderful stay here while visiting Sunday river. The accommodations were very clean and comfortable. It certainly lived up to our expectations and more. Thank you!
Owner was very helpful and easy to contact when we had any questions about the cabin. Dianne did her best to help with our car that was stuck on an icy hill. She had someone drive out to assist with sand! No regrets! Very lovely and clean property!
Had a wonderful time relaxing in this quite cabin in the beautiful woods of western Maine. Enjoyed hiking at Sunday River and Grafton Notch State Park. Retuned to a relaxing dip in the hot tub and a glass of wine by the fire pit looking at the great fall foilage. Thanks for the great accommodations. Would definetly rent at this location again.
My wife a I had a very enjoyable time at this place. It was nice and quiet, nestled in the trees even though there are other houses close by. We didn't spend much time outside as it was cool, except for the very relaxing hot tub! Very cozy and comfortable inside. We would definitely enjoy coming back to this haven!
The property and area was wonderful and peaceful. Enjoyed our stay very much!
This is a beautiful cabin that offers a warm and cozy family environment. We did have a small hiccup related to a housekeeping issue upon arrival, and I did email the owner who promptly addressed the issue. The owners are wonderful and really care about your experience wanting it to be the best it can be! The listing information through VRBO did not quite match the information provided to me by the owners, but none of the discrepancies were major issues and I did also bring this to the owners attention; whom I'm sure will take care to review and correct the information. The gazebo and firepit are wonderful and add to the outdoor experience of the cabin immensely. I was tickled pink to use the picnic basket and we had a fun picnic while exploring the covered bridges in Bethel. Love the kitchen in the cabin and the spacious front porch. Would definitely recommend this cabin for vacation. I could have stayed here all week and never left to go anywhere else and it still would have been a fantastic get away! Thank you Diane and Chris for an amazing experience!
What a great place to go and unwind away from everyday stress. Beautiful, quiet and relaxing. The entire family had a great time in the hot tub , comfy sofas and the wonderful trails and scenic views!
I love every single detail. I will love to go back!
Honestly we loved it here. We definitely would like to stay again soon. We had a blast and Diane was a wonderful host and communication was easy and smooth!
This beautiful and immaculate home was perfect for our family vacation! We had three children and 6 adults and there was still room to be comfortable and private. Our visits to Storyland and Mount Washington and Grafton Notch State Park were a short drive from the cabin. We also took a long lazy river ride tubing on the Androscoggin! By far, one of the most prefect vacations our family has ever had!!! Thank you so much!!
The property was as advertised, welcoming host. 20 minutes away from Sunday River and the breweries.
If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and enjoy the outdoors then this is a great place for you. Diane is a wonderful host and has thought of everything.
It was a little tricky finding the property, since the pictures show a red cabin, but it is actually now tan.
The cabin is just beautiful we had such a great time! It has all the amenities anyone can ask for! 4 stars from the Moreau family😊
This house was great for two families! Plenty of space to spread out and very comfortable bedding/towels, furniture and fire place. The hot tub was great! The only drawback is the lack of insulation between the main floor and second floor bedrooms, and trying to figure out the coffee/espresso makers.
Diane - Thank you for a great ski week. The house is so warm and comfortable. It has just about everything you need. The kids loved the little nook with games and books, not to mention the hot tub. We look forward to coming again next year!
This cabin was perfect for our party of six! It had everything we needed and more! It was comfortable and welcoming. We would go back!
Cozy comfortable house with everything we needed for 3 adults and six children. Our two 16 year old boys and their two friends really enjoyed the lower level. Plenty of beds, their own bathroom, dining area and TV/Xbox setup. They also had direct access to the hot tub which they used all weekend along. They main floor was comfortable and cozy and we enjoyed hanging by the wood stove (gas powered). We cooked breakfast both days before heading out the the mountain and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. Beds were comfy and the place was spotless and ready when we arrived. Also we received a nice courtesy email early in the day of our arrival letting us know the cabin was available for early check in if we wanted. I did send a text ( a little late in the evening ) to get the location of the keys for the hot tub and received a quick response back which was great. All in all an excellent family weekend getaway!!! I would highly recommend this cabin to friends and family.
A very comfortable, well appointed home near Sunday River. Truly all the comforts of home. Comfortable beds and pillows. Lots of thoughtful amenities, great gas fireplace, board games, toiletries provided. Very well equipped kitchen. Comfortably slept two families. Did not seem like a vacation cabin, seemed like you were staying in a well decorated friends home.
Our family of 4 enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Cozy nights by the fire and we watched lots of Christmas movies. The cabin came equipt with all kitchen supplies and towels and linens. Even flannel robes for everyone. Quiet neighborhood, we got to sled on the cul de sac. We enjoyed our time very much. Diane was a tremendous help with all our needs and questions. Was a fabulous experience.
Nice clean place. Nicely decorated and cozy. Would stay again
We spent Thanksgiving week at the cabin. Very clean and the beds were very comfortable with very nice sheets and blankets. Towels were provided for the hot tub. Everything we needed to prepare for our Thanksgiving dinner was available. The kitchen is really truly stocked. We loved the hot tub and fire pit. My grandchildren enjoyed the loft area to read and play games. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at the cabin!!
What a joy to stay at our Bethel cabin in October! We were so fortunate to enjoy the gorgeous fall colors heavily laden with crisp, beautiful snow. Our time was spent enjoying family, friends, restaurants and activities. One day we traveled to enchanting Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor; a wonderful adventure if you're looking to hike or to enjoy the interesting restaurants and shops. In close proximity to the cabin, Grafton State Park and Sunday River radiated yellow, orange, reds and green colors. Of course, we made time to eat at a couple of the many fantastic restaurants in Bethel. The cabin is pristine and ready for our next guests! Book early as ski season has already started at Sunday River!
Our stay at the cabin was one of our most memorable vacations ever. The cabin had everything we needed and then some. Bed and sheets were so comfortable as well as all of the furniture. The hot tub was an added bonus and was great for soaking in after a long day of exploring the area. There were lots of spices and condiments which made it so helpful when preparing meals. Any questions we had were quickly answered by Diane. She was extremely helpful and had lots of ideas of places for us to visit. We were there right at the perfect time to see the gorgeous Fall colors and we're now officially leaf peepahs. If I could give a 10 star rating I would. Book this cabin and I promise you will not be disappointed and will make memories that will last a lifetime.
Diane is very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. House is very cute, clean and very well equipped. We went in a group of close friends and had an amazing time, would definitely go back. Frenchman's hole is a definite go to, thanks for posting about it on your listing Diane.
Very nice family vacation. Nice and Clean cabin.
The cabin was wonderful! Very clean and well cared for. Plenty of room for our whole family. Kitchen had everything we needed. Loved it!!!!
We all loved the Apres cabin! Very inviting for all ages-we enjoyed preparing meals and grilling together. We spent an evening by the fire pit-we brought our own wood but the owners also provide. You can sit on the beautiful porch or spend time in the gazebo. The cabin is well appointed and the beds so very comfortable. We would most definitely go again- can only imagine how beautiful it must be in fall and winter! Can’t say enough about the owners Diane and Chris made us feel like we were home.
Great place to stay very clean
The cabin exceeded our expectations and allowed us to relax which was the goal of our girls weekend. There were many great places that we explored all nearby but the best part was the comfort of spending time at the cabin. Owners were very responsive to us when we had issues with the hot tub. Highly recommended to people looking to rent In this area! Grafton Notch Table Rock hike, Moose Caves, Screw Auger Falls and Sunday River Brewing Company all close by and must do’s if traveling here in the summer.
We enjoyed staying here. This was our second year. They are continually updating and refining the cabin to make it more comfortable for guests.
Thanks you so much it was a stunning and gorgeous house. My experience was great. Love the layout and the property. Overall epic experience.
Our family had a wonderful time at the cabin. We were very impressed with the quality of pretty much everything. Quality appliances and furnishings. And everything was spotless, which is important to us. We would recommend this rental to anyone. We will return!
Cabin is modern, cozy but great space! The decor is fantastic, and it’s wrll appointed. Location is great but be warned during mud season! We loved the fire place and hot tub, and had our easter dinner! Absolutely want to come back.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Apres Cabin! This cabin provides so much privacy as we were nestled in a forest of trees. The owners have provided everything to make our stay perfect including comfortable beds, high quality sheets, and luxurious soft, thick towels. The kitchen was provisioned with every amenity you might want/need. We particularly loved the waffle maker (crispy good :) and espresso machine! Furnishings and decorations were all great quality, comfortable and beautiful!!! Our days were spent skiing at Sunday River (definitely a quality resort) and enjoying the hot tub at the end of the day. The gazebo was so spacious; with both the hot tub and large dining table inside... and it was screened to keep the snow from blowing in. We are thrilled that we chose this spacious cabin for our family and friends and plan to come back to enjoy a summer vacation filled with hiking, boating and more family time at the Dalton's cabin. Thank you for a great vacation!!!!
Felt very much like home. I would reccomend this spot to others.
My husband and our three sons spent February vacation at the Dalton’s house. It was the perfect answer to not wanting to stay and pay at Sunday River. 15-20 from everything you need. Perfectly stocked kitchen, amazing bedding and linens, awesome hot tub that was hot and ready to go upon arrival! Sleeps way more than the 5 of us. Perfect getaway!
What a perfect house for our annual ski weekend! House was very well appointed - plenty of towels, sheets, pillows, and kitchen gadgets. Extremely comfortable beds. Plenty of games and entertainment options. Outdoor hot tub was perfect after a day of skiing and the wood stove (at the flick of a switch!) wicked away any cold the hot tub didn't take care of. Would definitely stay again. Thanks Diane!
This cabin is absolutely beautiful in a beautiful wooded setting. My family and I had a fantastic ski trip with plenty of room for everyone! I highly recommend this property!
We went up for a long weekend to ski with 9 people. Everyone had a bed and fit very comfortably. The skiing conditions weren't the best, so we spent a lot of time at the house, which was completely fine. We played board games, cooked food, used the hot tub, and watched football. It was a nice, relaxing winter getaway that I'd recommend to anyone!
We love the cabin! It perfectly fits two families with kids. The house was super warm which really helped with -15f outside. The kitchen is stocked very well. A lot of Bath and Body Works lotions, shampoos,... in bathrooms. The house is close to mt abram ski place and Sunday river. We enjoyed our stay!
We had a wonderful stay celebrating both our parents 50th Wedding Anniversary and Christmas. The cabin was secluded and private despite a couple of other cabins nearby. Very quiet location. We had 7 adults and 2 five year olds with us and there was plenty of space for everyone to sleep, hang out, cook and have quiet time. We took advantage of the hot tub, which was amazing despite the below freezing weather. The kids and the adults were able to sled safely on the cul-de-sac outside the house. Coffee out on the porch in the mornings was invigorating and peaceful. We even got to try out the generator when part of the town lost power the night before our departure. Before and during our trip I had to contact the owners and they were always gracious and answered in a timely manner. We highly recommend this charming, quiet cabin. Thank you for allowing us to visit.
A group of my friends and I do an annual ski trip and this year we chose this location to stay at. It was the best decision we could've made! The home is beautiful and cozy, and fit the entire group comfortably. The kitchen and bedrooms were great, and the home was stocked with many necessities. The hot tub was an awesome plus, as well! I would definitely recommend and even visit again!!
This cabin really has everything you might need to enjoy your stay, its very clean and well equipped; the beds are incredibly comfortable, there is a lot of space to enjoy either activities for groups or time alone. my girlfriends and I were able to have quality girl time and enjoyed the hot tub in the gazebo, while the boys played videogames for a couple of hours, win win!!! Diane was very helpful and easy to reach on the phone when we needed assistance with the lock box, I recommend this place for everyone looking to feel at home away from home.
My husband and I stayed at the cabin for a week for our honeymoon and it was perfect! The house was well kept, clean and in a quiet and relaxing location. We loved all of the little details that made it feel like home! The location is perfect for taking day trips, we were able to visit a couple state parks, take a guided fishing trip, and stop at the many antique shops along the way. We loved meeting the locals in Bethel and were invited to a benefit festival at the town common where we purchased some beautiful handmade items. We highly recommend the seafood sampler and live music at The Suds Pub, visiting with the bartender at the Funky Red Barn, (she has great recommendations for things to do) and checking out the shops (especially the pottery gallery) on Main St. We loved everything about our experience and would love to visit the cabin in the winter! Thank you, Diane and Chris, for opening your home for others to experience the serenity of the area.
We had a group of 8 stay here for a golf trip to Sunday River Golf Club. It was a perfect place- clean, spacious, affordable, and had great amenities. The fire pit was a nice way to spend the evenings and the hot tub was relaxing. Diane (owner) was extremely responsive when I emailed her with questions. We do the golf trip every year and definitely plan to stay at this cabin next year.
We enjoyed our stay, it is a beautiful cabin. Our only comment is a better time to rent the cabin would be in the Fall or winter. The mosquitos make it impossible to spend anytime outside by the fire pit or to have coffee on the front porch. The Gazebo is beautiful and was the only place we could enjoy the outdoors. But the cabin was very clean and the beds were all comfortable!
this is a must see and stay place if your are staying in the Bethel area. we were there in the summer and we made day trips to the coast for water activities. nice to come back to a private place to relax. inside the property had everything we were in need of. enjoyed the evenings playing games and in the Jacuzzi. I could see a family enjoying a ski vacation as Sunday river ski resort is only a short drive away. can't say enough good things thanks to the daltons for all there efforts.
The cottage is a cute, clean home to visit. The area has a lot of fun and exciting things to do (concerts, hiking, ziplines, tubing ect). The house is well stocked (sheets, shampoo, cleaning supplies, laundry facilities, towels ect) and inviting. Thank you for sharing it with us.
We found the cabin to be very cosy and enjoyed a relaxing few days. Had everything we needed. Nice hot tub.
We definitely enjoyed our weekend. The cabin es very comfortable, very well equipped, the location is beautiful and we had a great time. Our kids loved the hot tub, the cabin to play hide and seek, great place to relax and enjoy the nature.
Had a lot of fun !
The Dalton's were very accommodating to our group of 10 friends’ as we ventured into our fourth trip into another state of New England. Diane responded very quickly to questions we had during the process of planning our trip, as well as some questions that came up while we stayed at the house. The house was very clean, and had a kitchen stocked with all the essentials needed. Wifi and the cable package was a plus, especially since the cellular strength varied for each of us. The house provided a wii and xbox which were great for when it was raining. The hot tub in the gazebo was a great touch, and especially in the winter time it would be a great way of relaxing after a day of skiing. We had a small issue with the hot tub when we got there, but after contacting Dianne we could get in touch with their hot-tub person and get it fixed the next morning. The mosquito's can get overwhelming at night, but when we started a fire in the fire pit, we weren’t affected. For those that visit the house in the summer time, we visited Rattlesnake Brook which is part of the Cold River Area. The water hole was about 30 minutes away, but it was worth the trip. There is a waterfall about 15 feet high on one side, and there is a popular area to jump into the brook right next to the waterfall. For those interested in disc golf, there are courses around the area. One is about 30 minutes away, and involves hiking at times. We will keep this house in mind for future travels we have, and thank you again for allowing us to rent your house.
We stayed here for a long weekend for my wife's 30th birthday. There were a total of 12 people here with plenty of room for sleeping and lounging. The hot tub and fire pit are a great touch for any relaxing you would like to do.
First of all I have to say that before and during our stay, Diane and I spoke quite often over text about our arrival and what was going on during our stay (which happened to be a blizzard). She was very responsive and friendly throughout our experience. I would happily stay at any of her properties. The property we stayed at this time was this beautiful cabin in the snow just outside of the White Mountains. Though the property looks just like the pictures, the pictures posted online don't do this house justice. As soon as we walked in the house, we were all in awe with how pretty and well appointed it was. I felt like I was walking into a brand-new home with brand-new furniture and decor down to the seemingly unused pots, pans, and plates to the vibrant and color coordinated washcloths, hand towels, and bath towels. However, it didn't take long for us to feel completely at home. This house was unlike any other we stayed at before in that this truly felt like our home for the time that we spent there and we were all sad to leave. There were six of us in our group: two grandmas, two parents, and two kids (18yo & 7yo). The 18yo just told me this house was his favorite and the 7yo just said he liked this house the most because of the hot tub (which we did use despite the snowy conditions) and because we regularly saw snow plows coming down our street. Our stay was originally booked for four nights, but with winter storm Stella arriving the day that we were scheduled to depart, Diane was more than accommodating and allowed us to stay an extra night (we were lucky that there wasn't another reservation booked after us). After the blizzard (over 17in of snow) was over, the neighborly snow plow plowed our driveway. I also want to mention that all the roads in the area were completely clear of snow We had everything we needed there at the house and wanted for nothing. Even the beds had memory foam padding to make sleeping the most comfortable. We were close to all the activities we took part in: skiiing, ice fishing and dog sledding. The house has wifi but it wasn't working most of the time we were there, however it didn't matter much to us because cell phone reception was excellent. I could go on and on about this house, but I don't have enough space here to do that. I will say that if we ever come back to this area, we will without a doubt stay at this house again! WE LOVED IT!
Everything was great. It was a pleasure working with Diane. The cabin is very nicely appointed; great care and style were taken with the details. It was really cold outside but warm and comfortable inside with the gas stove. Thanks Diane! Phil
We stayed 3 nights on February recess and enjoyed every single minute of our staying! High ceilings in the kitchen and dining area, cozy electric fireplace, the kitchen with everything you need, very clean house, hot tub - the number one in the kid's list (xbox was the number two:-). Diane is a very nice host, she asked very quickly for every question (sometimes even before you asked which were very helpful). Hope to come back someday!
We had a great time at the house. It's about 15-20 min to Sunday river. There was plenty of room for all of us including two toddlers. The hot tub is awesome. Beds were comfy, and Diane is a great host. Thank you!
We had a lovely girls weekend in this home! Fit about 12-13 people perfectly. The house was amazing, the hot tub was great, and Diane was very accessible.
Six of us had a enjoyable escape to relaxing Bethel and Sunday River for a week. Grill and kitchen met all our needs as we enjoyed delicious home cooked meals most of the week. We went out Thursday night and enjoyed prime rib @ the funky red barn followed by open mic @ SUDS. Waking up to coffee and the gas stove made it hard to head out to the slopes. After a long day skiing the hot tub was calling. 4WD/AWD recommended, there's a bit of a hill when coming and going which can be a challenge depending on conditions. With a blizzard expected on our way home we rushed out. We managed to leave a couple things behind and the owner was very responsive in working to get them back to us. Nice house. Helpful and responsive owner. Great Trip!!
Two families shared the house for a ski vacation during the Christmas break and found the house immaculate and stocked abundantly with all the necessities. Our families enjoyed the hot tub and the gas fireplace every day of our snowy vacation and the linens and beds provided restful sleep each night!! The kitchen was stocked so well with everything we needed. Diane went above and beyond on more than one occasion pre, during and post vacation to make sure we were well taken care of, thanks Diane for a great week!
We really enjoyed our stay! The cabin was very cozy and had plenty of room for our 4 person family and 2 grandparents. It's nice and secluded (though there are plenty of nearby neighbors) while being close enough to Bethel to get all the essentials if you forget anything. The surroundings are gorgeous and we were right in the middle of it all!
Really wonderful stay at this woodsy retreat Everything you need. Literally I cannot think of a thing I reached for that was not here. But bring a Bluetooth speaker to rock some tunes it's a cathedral for sound with all the wood interior
Took my family of six (four young children) on a nice vacation and booked this house. You never know what to expect but I went off the reviews and they are accurate. The house is clean and very well kept. The outside is just as maintained with a nice fire-pit and hot-tub. There is plenty of games and different things to occupy the kids at home. Kitchen is well supplied. The beds were nice. House heats up real fast too with the gas fireplace. We didn't spend much time at the house because we were so busy exploring. Great location for driving into NH and up Grafton Notch for hiking. I especially recommend Evan's Notch (Rattlesnake and Emerald Pool). Did this trail with young toddlers, they did great. Had some excellent dinners at local restaurants. Lots of stuff to do, but I need to go back without the kids just to relax! Read the guest books too, there is a lot of good information as to places to see and things to occupy yourself. It's a little bit of a drive to town at least 15-20 minutes but its worth it. No chain stores anywhere, all mom-and-pop businesses, locals mostly, no traffic. Take the kids or just go for peace and quiet. This rental home is worth it.
Great communication by Owners letting us know what to expect before arriving, very responsive to questions. Perfect place to get away and unwind
Our families enjoyed the three levels of living space Allowing all to be together and yet separate when needed. Great kitchen, bath and bedrooms. A very well kept clean home. The Appliances and bedding were top rate. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
It was a beautiful cabin, completely stocked with the necessary appliances(and then some). I was amazed as to how much was left for us by previous guests. So, of course, we left a lot of our extra things for the next guests as well. The cabin sleeps 12 comfortably. Just an all around good experience. The only things that I can say negatively was that the first aid kit wasn't stocked and the smoke detectors appeared to be broken. Other than that, I would recommend this cabin to any traveler who wants to experience Maine. It was an amazing vacation.
House was beautiful and very well stocked. There were only a few minor things that we noticed. First when we got there the grill was covered in barbecue sauce and dirty plates inside. So of course we had to scrub that down before we could use it. Next a hot tub has no headrest. On 3rd the Landscaping needed to be trimmed back. Getting to the fire pit could not stay on the brakes because of the overgrown weeds and plants. But other than that gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. Definitely would return again
We travelled to this property with two 11 month old babies and absolutely enjoyed it. It is located close to a variety of activities. The property is well equipped; we particularly appreciated the kitchen equipment to cook great meals. We weren't able to use the spa as it was a very hot week but everything looked great. The beds are very comfortable! We definitely recommend.
Great place to take the family or a couples get away. Property was clean and the beds and pillows were soft and comfy! Hot tub was clean and ready for use. Kitchen was well stocked with appliances. Had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this place. We will definitely come back!
The cabin house was lovely, the owner was very kind and well prepared. The interior of the house was superb, great furniture with many amazing decorations for an amazing atmosphere. Overall a great home, would recommend to anyone.
This isn't our first trip to the cabin and certainly not the last! We had a very relaxing weekend and cannot wait to return next year!
This property is beautiful and has everything you need! Owner was very helpful and informative when booking the reservation. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!
This was our 2nd time back and there was no question to stay here again. Very spacious and amenities had everything you need. The Hot tub was amazing to come home to after a day of skiing, loved the outdoor firepit. The house was very clean and we'll maintained. We explored Grafton Notch State Park, skiied for 3 days and enjoyed some of the resurants in Betal. Our only wish list would be to have more seating around the propane stove. There was 4 of us and much of our time was spent in the kitchen and around the stove and there was only 2 chairs. If you are looking to spend time watching TV the new sectional was a great addition to the tv/family room.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this property. Although the ski conditions were not what we were hoping for, coming back to the cabin to cook meals, soak in the hot tub and relax near the warm gas fireplace was certainly a plus. The cabin was very clean, extremely well furnished with kitchen amenities, extra bedding if needed, and overall a great place to share with friends. The hot tub was used every night. It was too cold for the outside fire, though in the summer, this would be an added bonus. The owners communicated all the details needed and answered any questions I had prior to our arrival promptly. It was an absolute pleasure to arrange our vacation with Chris. I highly recommend this cabin for a winter stay. Sunday River is 20 minutes away. You pass several stores for groceries, etc along the way. All in all, a great location, just wish the skiing was better. Tom
We loved the house. It was so comfortable and beautiful. We had everything we needed. The hot tub did not work but that certainly was not a huge deal. We look forward to going back in the future! Thank you
This was a great place overall, we went with friends and the rooms each had some privacy, the lay out is great and the house is well stocked with things you need to cook etc. The owner was very attentive if I needed anything and everything was easy to find and use. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience, we all had a great time!
My family was in need of a new thanksgiving tradition. After 40+ years of traveling 3 hours north to spend the long thanksgiving weekend at Nana's, we sadly lost our nana this summer...but didn't want to lose the family tradition. This cabin was just what we needed. There were 10 of us: my parents ( slept in the main floor master), my husband, myself and our 3 and 5 years old (stayed in the upstairs room with two queen beds), and my sister, her husband and 9 and 13 year old (had the lower level apartment style room with bunk beds. The sleeping accommodations were perfect! We were able to put the littles to bed nice and early upstairs. The bigger kids got to hang out downstairs and play video games and the adults actually got a chance to sit and talk! So nice! There was plenty of room and equipment to cook, serve and eat a big thanksgiving dinner for 10. (BYO potato masher! Haha) The cabin was spotless! All of the bedding and towels smelled super fresh. We were all impressed by the quality of the linens and furnishings. All of the movies, games, speedy wi-fi, the hot tub and fire pit had us feeling down right spoiled! We didn't get out much (a quick nature hike and a covered bridge excursion was about it) but there seemed to be plenty to do into the area. I would highly recommend this cabin to any family looking for a place to relax and reconnect.
My family and I would highly recommend the Dalton's cabin in Bethel, Maine. The cabin is beautiful inside and out, and we enjoyed just about every inch of it. I think about the only thing we didn't manage to get around to was building a fire in the outdoor fire pit. The eight of us made use of all the bedrooms as well as the pull-out sofa. The kitchen is well-stocked with cooking supplies and even a few non-perishable items. We enjoyed hot breakfasts in the mornings and warm cookies and apple pies later in day. There was even a Crock Pot so that a roast could be started and waiting when we got back from a day of sight-seeing! The hot tub was wonderful - the air was in the 30s but the hot tub was over 100! My family was in Maine for my parents 50th anniversary. We loved the gem and mineral store and museum in Bethel and also visited a quarry where we found some great geological samples of our own. If you're looking for photo opportunities, it's also worth taking a drive to the nearby covered bridge. We also went to Portland and saw several lighthouses. For their anniversary dinner we went to Rolandeau's in Auburn where they had a great selection of steak and seafood. We also enjoyed the food at Buck's Naked BBQ in Portland. At any rate, from the northern lights we saw on the first night to the warmth we felt spending time in the beautifully decorated cabin it was a great trip, and I can speak pretty confidently for all eight of us that we would be delighted to come back again. The Dalton's have done a wonderful job in making this a home away from home!
I am a home away fan - I've rented different properties with them for the past 5 years. All have been great, and this property was at the top of my list! I appreciate the details and this place was clean. High ceilings in the great room and not even a web in a top corner. Everything was immaculate. The beds were super comfortable and the bedding was top notch. The decor was also tasteful and I loved the wall hangings - I took pictures so I could copy the owners style. Everything was on point....from the wonderfully appointed kitchen to the beautiful fire pit, and the hot tub was heaven. The owners were very quick to respond to any questions and very friendly...even if one is a Dallas fan, I can't hold that against them...lol! What a wonderful time to reconnect with family. Thanks Diane!!!
This cabin was comfortable, clean and cozy. Our family enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit nightly. We made s'mores with reese's peanut butter cups. The beds were very comfy with nice linens. The kitchen had all the stuff you needed for cooking and baking. We even played board games that were available! Our family thouroghly enjoyed this home away from home!
I don't think I have one bad thing to say about this cabin. Everything was set and ready to go when we arrived. Most of our time we spent in the hot tub playing music but we did get out to see the nice restaurants and sights around. Frenchman's hole was one of the best swimming spots I had ever seen. Can't wait to come back to Maine next year!
We have rented many houses in the past and I must say this is way up on the list. Everything was as described and the owners could not have been more accommodating. We had asked if we could have our granddaughters wedding rehearsal dinner there and they agreed. What a wonderful time. With so many areas, both inside and out, for dining and conversation, we couldn't have been happier. All in attendance remarked on what a beautiful place it was. Getting away from the Texas heat was wonderful and the rain would have been welcomed too if it just hadn't rained on the wedding day...still a beautiful wedding. We really didn't have a lot of time to enjoy the area, but we did enjoy the peace and quiet of the home when we did have a little downtime. One thing, although it seems like a little thing, was how wonderful to have so many coat hangers. Most places have only a few...bringing clothes for a wedding, this was really appreciated. Thanks so much for allowing us to rent this beautiful place.
We stayed there a couple years ago... in the summer and i cannot begin to tell you how Beautiful this lovely Home is.... its everything & more... the owners have definitely not missed a thing!!! everything is High End including the Appliances . I would Highly Recommend this Beautiful Property... Ohhh & The Bonus id the Screened in Gazebo with Hot Tub... we used the Gazebo for a Hawaii Theme Party before we left Thank~you Daltons for Wonderful Memories 3
Our group had an absolutely wonderful stay from the moment we arrived. The house was beautiful and clean and had everything we needed. Diane was incredibly professional and friendly! Our one and only criticism was the lack of swimming locations nearby, based on the listing we had thought there would be options for nearby ponds, as well as the river for swimming but we really could not find much. Our whole group would absolutely return to this location and recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful getaway.
What a gorgeous getaway with everything you could need! We had an amazing time in the jacuzzi, roasting marshmallows, swimming in nearby rivers, and generally relaxing. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking to explore a less touristy part of Maine or just wants to get away for a long weekend. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much to the Dalton's for allowing us to rent your property!! The house was absolutely beautiful and Bethel was an amazing location for a vacation- lots of relaxing and just taking everything in! The property was extremely clean and well taken care of. Bedrooms were more than comfortable and space was abundant! Loved that the house feels homey and had so much to offer like all the kitchen appliances, XBOX, board games, etc.. Highly recommend Step Falls Preserve- the hiking was short and easy while the waterfall and water holes were amazing! Great scenery to photograph too! We ate at Rooster's Roadhouse on our final night and the food was phenomenal! I would highly recommend the property to people no doubt- our only issue was battling the heat but the house did have plenty of fans provided for us which helped tremendously!
This is the 6th year we have been to the cabin! We had a wonderful relaxing weekend as usual. Love the remodeling ! The chairs in front of the fireplace especially. Cannot wait until next year! Perhaps we will stay for a week. Thank you again Chris and Diane!
Organizing a vacation for three different couples I was a bit concerned that the home would meet everyone's expectations. From the minute we arrived to the day we left the comments from all included, Beautiful and clean, great choice., Spacious, very well maintained., Comfortable beds, quality furnishings and very well stocked with plenty of towels and much needed plates, glasses and kitchen utensils.. The open layout of the kitchen; with modern appliances, and dining room with fireplace was a great place for all of us to congregate after a day of skiing. Plenty of wine and cheese parties. The three levels of the home with separate television rooms on two of the levels, allowed for privacy and chance to spread out if so desired. The outdoor gazebo, hot tub and fire pit is nothing more then outstanding. Diane was a real pleasure to deal with during the reservation process and throughout our stay.
We couldn't have been happier with our weekend ski trip. Booking the cabin was very easy and Diane was so helpful with providing information for our trip. The cabin was adorable and well stocked with towels, blankets, games, and kitchen items. There was plenty of room and areas to sleep. Everyone couldn't stop talking about how great the cabin was and we will certainly be back. I couldn't have asked for a better weekend. -Kristin
The house was amazing! So pretty and very clean! Everything you needed was there! The owners were very helpful and always answered all questions! I would 100% go back! We all had a place and enjoyed the place soooo much!
We were looking for a comfortable place to stay with our five-month-old that was close to trails, views, and towns. The property met those requirements and then some. We enjoyed how well-kept the cabin was. In addition to being tastefully decorated, the bed and bed linens were extremely comfortable -- a key point for new parents running a sleep deficit. We travel frequently and enjoy the small touches that make a place feel like home. The cabin was stocked with family-friendly movies (and one copy of Silence of the Lambs), games, and dry goods, so it felt like we were staying at a friends' house rather than a soulless timeshare or condo. We took our little guy hiking on the Mount Will loop and up to Grafton Notch State Park. Both were enjoyable. North Conway and the Presidentials are a nice day trip away, and Gorham, NH is a fun side trip if you're looking for a little more action than we found in Bethel. (I'm assuming it's shoulder season, too late for river sports and leaf-peeping and too early for skiing.) We'd stay again in a heartbeat if we were in the area.
We pulled up to the property later than anticipated, so we couldn't see much of the outside. My husband and I traveled to the cabin to relax in the hot tub, and spend out days and nights in a beautiful, luxurious home, and we got just that! My first impression walking in was how stunning the cabin was, and how spotless! The beds were so unbelievably comfortable, the kitchen fully equipped, hot tub worked extremely well and was so nice in the gazebo, the cabin was on a dirt road, we got to take walks, and go into town just 15 minutes away, and although it was just the two of us, you could certainly bring children, there are three bedrooms, and there's a place for the kids to play games upstairs in the loft, and downstairs in the basement. The wifi was also a huge plus, and I can't say enough good things about it! We were so pleased with our stay, and the quality of the cabin and overall stay, we certainly want to return!!!
We rented the cabin for a three days week end, we were a group of 8 adults. It was amazing, very convenient and peaceful place, beautiful cabin, very clean and welcoming. The hot tub and the fire pit are clearly some plus and very appreciable after a hiking day. We would recommend the cabin for sure and we'd love to go back there another time! Thank you Diane for your fast replies.
Very clean and comfortable. Eight ladies enjoyed ourselves tremendously and look forward to returning in the future. This house is very well taken care of and it reflects that care on the inside and outside. The gazebo and hot tub are magical. Very easy to rent from owner and it was a great experience overall! Property Manager was very pleasant and available as well for all our needs. Thank you for sharing your space with us!
We were at the property around the 30th of June and stayed there until the 3rd of July this year. We were a family of 4 and were accompanied by my sisters family of 4 and my parents. There were four kids between the age group of 3 to 14. the house was spacious and comfortable and well maintained. The only issue was that there are no air conditioners and lots if bugs and insects outside in the evening. But the owner and their caretaker were nice enough to get us additional fans and that took care of the problem. The place us close to the Sunday river attractions and Grafton notch State park. We enjoyed our stay there and are looking forward to go back there in fall next year . Thank you Diane for the beautiful house and your hospitality.
We spent a long weekend in this gorgeous cabin, and all nine of us are already working on a plan to return! The house was beautiful and spotless, and it had every amenity we could have wished for. The hot-tub was extremely clean, and we spent many, many hours around the fire pit. Diane was very responsive and helpful. We really couldn't have asked for a better experience, thank you so much!
We rented this place for a weekend getaway and we could not have been happier. It is very quiet and in the middle of the trees. The house was extremely well taken care of and had room of all of us. The hot tub was a plus. We all loved staying at this cabin and would love to come back Thank you Diane for fast replies and letting us rent this place.
We have been coming to the cabin for four years now. We absolutely love it! We visited the Wildlife park in Gray this year and we had an awesome time! We hung at the cabin, cooked some great meals and enjoyed the Jacuzzi. The forecast said rain all weekend but we lucked out with only scattered showers.(Didn't get to use the new fire pit.) The water pressure is much better then last year but the shower heads are different. Overall great weekend! Can't wait until next year! I think we will be staying for a week because three days wasn't enough! Thank you again Diane & Chris!
We could not be happier with this rental. Such a beautiful location, surrounded by the trees...looked amazing after the fresh snowfall. This cabin was stocked with everything we needed, very clean and welcoming. The hot tub was a welcome site after a long day of skiing.
We had a GREAT time and LOVED the location and enjoyed everything about the camp. We will be returning next year.
The Apres Cabin is beautiful, furnished perfectly with a Wii and other fun items. Also full cookware and plenty of towels. The Jacuzzi is amazing and so relaxing! Very quiet area and close to town enough that you wont get lost. The cabin is a little closer to neighbors then expected, but the neighbors seem nice and didn't mind us being a little on the loud side. The owner let me switch my dates last minute and was extremely nice and accommodating. Would recommend this place to anyone and will stay there again in a heartbeat!
Great place! Clean, well-mainteined. I would definitely recommend it. Thanx Diane!
My family and I had a wonderful weeks stay at the cabin. The hot tub was great and the gazbo was very nice. The house is beautiful and well maintained. We found everything that we needed to cook. We found the water falls at Screw Uger and spent some time there, which was beautiful. It isn't to far from the cabin. The only thing that was missing from our usual family vacation is a open fire to sit around and roast marshmellows. The kids are already asking if we can go back in the winter, so they can play with some snow toys.. Thank you for a great week. The Hearns and Wilson family
We Felt like this home was in mint condition, the owners put their all in all the home furnishings,The area is spectacular with all the mountain views and beautiful country side settings...The town of Bethel itself is charming old victorian style buildings etc. if you have kids theres lots to do winter/summer alike:) The hot tub was just so relaxing after a day of activities or cooking... and at Bedtime the memory foam beds were sooo comfortable!!!! weve rented alot of homes I would say this home was at the top of the list! Thanks,Chris & Diane Dalton for renting such a lovely home! Rich & Pam Uloth and Daughter & her Friends:)
Overall a great weekend.. This is the third year our group of friends has made it up too Bethel.. Jacuzzi and the new Gazebo was amazing! Just relaxed, did some shopping, and enjoyed the weekend thank you Chris & Diane!! 3
Very clean and accomodating! Perfect for a quiet and peaceful getaway! Very nice hottub in covered gazebo was great for the rainy nights! definitley planning on returning! Highly recommended!
HI, We had a very pleasant week-end, me and my friends! The property is well-maintained, clean and with some nice details that makes the difference. The gazebo and spa area was surely the most enjoyed part! I would recommend this place. But there's one huge problem with the cabin... The water pressure! We were 10 persons, and I don't think that everyone had the chance to have a real shower in 4 days!! I'm sure that this problem may be out of the owner's control, but I think it have to provide at least enough water for the capacity of the cabin! In the same way, there was missing one chair to be able to sit 10 person at the table to have dinner all together. So, except that, the area was lot's of fun to. Sunday River is the other high-light of our stay! Everyone at the mountain was so welcoming. Thank you for everything! Joanie and friends
The cottage was warm and welcoming. Hot tub was a BIG hit with the kids and adults too. The 3 year old had fun sliding down the side yard with her mom while we were skiing. Beds very comfortable. We could have used more forks , but I think that will be taken care of.
Beautiful House. Just as described. SPOTLESS !!! Two famlies shared this house for the MLK holiday weekend. It was perfect, there was plenty of room for all of us. The kids loved having thier own space downstairs. Sunday River ski area was a 15 to 20 minute drive. The drive to the ski area was very scenic. We did have some questions and Diane responded right away to adress them. We would definitely rent this house again.
The cabin was great and well equipped. It is much further than I expected to Sunday River, at least 20 minutes. Also, the cabin is on a dirt road that is well plowed but not sanded so we wound up snowed in one day and it was not trivial to get out on the second day. The owner was very responsive and went out of her way to allow us an extra day. Even so, I would recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle or chains to get up the hill. Because of the snow it was necessary to shovel our way to the hot tub, then shovel out the gazebo. The pancakes and jelly were a nice touch and the cabin, itself, was very nice. The property was very clean and comfortable. It was a bit crowded with 11 people. I don't think I would recommend the property mainly because of the location.
Great cottage. We were afraid to arrive to old smelly house, but place is absolutely new. Wood is shining! New appliances, heat works perfect, cottage is super cozy. No comments about hot tub, everybody loved it! Location is very quiet and woodsy, just what we were looking for. Owners are very responsible people and helped us right away when we had few questions. Definitely advertising this cottage to all of our friends!
Awesome house to stay in if you are looking to relax. Great view and neighbors.
This was a great place for us to come and get the grand kids sking for the first time. With 12 people the cabin fir everyone just fine. The place was all and more that was described. We all had a great time and am looking forward to using it again and again. Would be a great place for summer golf getaway.
My ski team stayed here for a race weekend we had at Sunday RIver and this has been one of our favorite houses of the season! The house is beautiful and has a great hot tub that we all loved to use after a long day of skiing. The bedding is all extremely comfortable and the house itself is perfect for cuddling up with a cup of hot chocolate. We hope to stay here again next year for our race at Sunday RIver!!
A late night arrival was stress free due to the fact that supplies were already in the cabin including toiletries, coffee, paper towels and bathroom products. My husband and I chose wisely, the bottom bedroom, more private. A Christmas tree was in the front room which helped get us get in the holiday mood. Snuggling on the cozy couches with warm blankets and watching tv was relaxing. We also played cards at the big dining table. We skied and boarded for 3 days at Sunday River. We even attended a highschool winter band and choral concert one night. Unexpected snow the last night made our last morning beautiful as we drove back to the airport and saw beautiful Maine country side.
I stayed here for my 31st birthday with several friends. The neighborhood was quiet and Sunday River was easily accessible during the day. Everyone found a space that worked for them. We watched a movie, made communal meals in the gorgeous kitchen and spent the late hours soaking in the hot tub. Nice extra touches around the house including a Maine pancake and scone mix welcoming basket, q-tips and dove soap in the bathrooms and scented plug ins. Only complaint was that the floor was not soundproof to the upstairs room and an easy conversation could be had between floors. It was an easy booking and the owners were lovely to talk with.
