We had a wonderful stay! Thank you!
Walk everywhere! Quiet location. Overall good experience. Managers always close by.
One of three units in a beautifully restored house in the middle of Ashland. Super comfortable, great shower and yard. I didn’t use the laundry but it’s there in the basement. The kitchenette has coffee, toaster oven, fridge and hot plates so you can make some simple meals. Best thing is the location, we walked everywhere and left the car in the parking spot.
The unit is in a perfect location that allows you to park and never need your car as you can walk everywhere. The unit is really nice- very clean, stylish, top notch finishes and efficiently laid out to make the most of the space. Lots of windows so lots of sunlight. We didn’t cook but did eat in due to COVID so the toaster oven and microwave were perfect. The smaller frig held plenty of provisions. The town is very nice as is the general area. I highly recommend this VRBO rental.
great location and such a lovely place
The place was wonderful, attention to detail in decoration, but we had to cut it short because the smoke from fires was horrendous it was way too unhealthy. My husband has asthma so it was not safe for us to stay considering the air quality. Many places were closed as well. SO we missed 4 nights we had to pay for, so couldn't enjoy this beautiful property. I think there should be some kind of refund in this unprecedented situation, we did email in regard to our early departure but haven't heard back. I would definitely go back but I may not in fire season.
Quiet, relaxing and great location for walking in town or heading out for a bike ride along the bear creek greenway trail. Also a quick drive to Jacksonville for wine tasting. Amazing property for sure!
We have stayed in both Titania and now Oberon. The owner is wonderful and responsive and both properties are exquisite and immaculate. We love staying here!
This beautifully restored and decorated one bedroom apartment is a joy to stay in. The rooms are bright with large windows facing onto a beautiful garden. It was immaculately clean and well appointed. It is only a few steps from the main street so everything, including the theaters, are within a few blocks. I thoroughly enjoyed my week here, and I hope to return in the future.
The 1BR apartment is part of a small house (there was one other rental and upstairs was a private portion of the house) in downtown Ashland. It was perfect for visiting the Shakespeare Festival. The place for clean, comfortable and very convenient to downtown Ashland. We walked to the Shakespeare shows. We had a chance to meet our host, who was very nice and interested that everything was okay with the rental. Plenty of room for one couple, and the kitchen was sufficient for some light cooking. Had access to a very nice little back yard (this was shared space with the other renters (but we never saw them). Would definitely stay here again.
Wonderful accommodations! Bright and airy, had everything we needed. Great location within walking distance to everything. And the hostesses were delightful. I would love the opportunity to come back next time, and would recommend these accommodations without hesitation. Thank you!
Lovely, well appointed accommodations within easy walk to Shakespeare and downtown — yet quiet and convenient. Half kitchen perfect for breakfast, snacks and lunch. We will stay again !!
We really enjoyed our stay in the Oberon apartment. It was the right size for a couple with a good-size bedroom, separate living room, 3/4 bath, and a small kitchenette. I would advise that if you want to do much cooking during your stay, then this might not be the right rental for you. We didn't cook while we were there, so the limited kitchen amenities didn't bother us at all. The property was very clean and well cared for. It was early spring when we were there, but the yard looked like it would be lovely in the summer. The property is within easy walking distance of downtown Ashland, so it's super-convenient. We would definitely stay here again if/when we make it back to Ashland.
Very comfortable cottage, with basic amenities in kitchenette. Clean, cozy, and close to main attractions. Smooth transaction with hosts. I would definitely come back!
This place is very fitting and suits our needs while we visit our son who attends SOU.
This is a very comfortable, convenient home away from home. My third visit! Nicely decorated and comfortable for two. I look forward to my next stay there in 2019.
Great location. Well appointed and very comfortable. lovely and well maintained outdoor space. Only draw back is that it is becoming expensive, approximately 200 per night per person. 400.00 per couple. The location to the theater and the large kitchen are the selling points that overcome the price. At this point.Knocked it down a star because of the cost. .
Clean, great location, responsive owners! Thank you!
We were unable to travel to stay there, but communication with the host have been very good, and we hope to visit later.
Second Spring / Oberon was within easy walking distance of the plays and restaurants in the downtown core, yet so peaceful and quiet. It was well-appointed and the bed was comfortable. The garden was so restful, a perfect spot for morning coffee or evening wine. It was clean and well-laid out with windows which gave the rooms a bright and airy feel. Parking was not a problem. We were completely delighted and intend to return!
This house is in an ideal location for a trip to Ashland. We parked the car and did not have to drive anywhere the entire time during our visit. The apartment we stayed in was very clean and the yard was delightful. Setup is ideal for 2 people, 3 maximum. Kitchen for light meals, seating for 2 people. Would definitely stay again in this location !
We stayed for four days here at Oberon, Second Spring. Because the air was so smokey and so hot, we had to stay inside more than normal. Good thing the air-conditioned rooms offered a retreat. Oberon-Second Spring is within walking distance of all theaters, shops and restaurants. The rooms were in superior condition and the kitchen well-stocked. Though there wasn't an oven or stove-top, we didn't find a need for them. A lovely yard comes with the package...and when we were packing to leave, a deer with huge antlers came to visit..to say goodbye. Priceless!
Oberon is part of a two unit house. Both can be rented together (there is a connecting door) to fit a family or friend group of 5. Oberon is the smaller of the two and can fit 2-3 people. It is perfectly clean, tastefully decorated, and completely comfortable. The owners are communicative and responsive. The property is located in downtown Ashland close to the theater, shops, and restaurants. The co-op is nearby, there is a city bike rental stand around the corner, and Noble Coffee (best ever cool coffee shop) is just 3 blocks from the house.
Plenty of room for all of us to have privacy and yet be together and close enough to walk to everything. We loved the house and it had everything we needed. The garden was spectacular! Would love to return next year.
Oberon is a small 1 bedroom apartment on the backside of the main house that includes an upstairs living space. It has a dorm size refrigerator, microwave, and toaster oven so it's convenient if you're just heating things up but not really a functional kitchen for serious cooking. There was no one staying in the main house so we had the beautiful garden to ourselves, but I can imagine it being a little too close if we had to share. It worked perfectly for what we had in mind. Ms Rood was quick to answer any questions we had.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Home is beautifully maintained, in a great location. We walked everywhere from this base. Highly recommend.
Great space with everything you need for a home base. I walked to everything in Ashland that a person would want to see.
Loved this beautiful apartment. Lots of skylights that provided views toward Mt. Ashland and Grizzly Peak as well as downtown Ashland. It was especially wonderful to sleep under the stars with a skylight right above the bed. Awesome full kitchen, large bathroom, comfy living space. This apartment has a genuine family feel as though you are staying at a personal residence. Would gladly rent here again!
This is our third stay in Titania and Oberon, for the simple reason that they are perfect!! The location in town is unbeatable, and inside, everything is just lovely, right down to the dishes and silverware. Comfort is assured in cozy beds and great sofas, and all is so harmoniously attractive. We will be back, for sure!!
We had everything we needed for a few days stay in Ashland. The property is very thoughtfully maintained for your comfort. Beautiful garden space. Loved how close we were to downtown, just a few blocks from the theatre...but somehow the apartment is tranquil & peaceful. Thank you.
We were very happy with Oberon. The location is excellent, very close to the theaters. The unit works very well for 2 people. The kitchen is minimal, but was as described in the listing and was fine for breakfast and snacks, which is all we needed. The yard is lovely; I wished it had been less hot when we were there, so we could have sat outside. I would stay here again.
The Oberon was the perfect size and location for my husband and I. We walked everywhere! The garden and aesthetics of the property and spaces were lovely. The backyard water fountain was meditative. The house was well-appointed and the owner was quick to respond to our needs. I would easily recommend this rental to my family and friends.
We certainly fell under Oberon's spell after a four night stay in this enchanting cottage and plan to make it our lodging of choice when we visit Ashland in the future. The cottage is well appointed and equipped (though it's missing a tea pot for those of us that prefer tea to coffee), clean, quiet, comfortable, and an easy walk to OSF theaters, downtown shops, and restaurants. The garden area is tranquil and just the right spot to unwind after a busy day or to have a quiet evening meal (if the meal doesn't require more than a hotplate, microwave, and toaster oven). A well done to the owners and caretakers. We look forward to our next visit.
Walking distance to shops and dining.
Well maintained, well appointed in the perfect location for waking to shopping and the theater.
Great location and nice place.
Meticulously cared for, tastefully decorated and well built, this house is equipped with everything we need for cooking, comfortable sleeping and relaxing time. It is a quick walk to shops, restaurants, the Food Coop, Lithia Park and the Shakespeare festival. The house is in high demand, so we have to arrange our visits far in advance. We are two couples and have plenty of privacy when we rent the whole first floor. Though traffic bustles nearby, the house is well insulated and quiet. The yard is lovely and we often enjoy a lunch on the lawn. Love this spot.
Beautiful setting, excellent location!
Antea was so accommodating with my questions and my allergy to down. She made sure all of the bedding was down free and even offered to remove the couch cushions. The Oberon rental is even more beautiful than the pictures and my husband and I did not want to leave!! We cooked our entire trip and the kitchen had everything we needed. The bed was so comfortable and this is the cleanest rental I've ever stayed in. Spotless without an ounce of dust in sight. We cannot wait to come back here!
I met a childhood friend in Ashland for a few days of theater and hiking. Oberon was a lovely place to stay. The owners were thoughtful in knowing the needs of their guests and we found the time there very comfortable. I would certainly stay there again!
The property is beautiful, clean and well appointed. We felt comfortable and pampered. The location is great and the lovely yard and outdoor furnishings are a bonus.
Although we had a small hiccup getting into our room, it was handelled easily by pushing doorbell and getting in touch with resident manager (we didn't know to do this). This place is compact, 1 bedrm, with small kitchenet, and laundry room in basement. It is impeccably clean, 2-3 blocks away from Shakespeare theater and downtown and with a very nice local manager. We will stay there again next year. Highly recommended.
I cannot say enough good things about our experience at Second Spring. From the start of the booking process until we departed we were totally taken care of and happy. The location cannot be beat, it's close to everything but the garden is quiet and peaceful....the amenities like the private parking, soft sheets, shower, and kitchenware are such a treat and the garden is spectacular and a beautiful place to have dinner or drink your coffee in the morning. They have thought of everything from start to finish and we could not have been more pleased with our stay. Despite there being three units in the house, each is totally private and the soundproofing is amazing. We never heard a thing from the others onsite. I'll also say we had our three month old son with us and I was touched that they remembered that comment during the booking and have a travel crib for us even though we had not asked and I had mentioned the fact he would be with us 6 months before we arrived! We are already trying to pick a week next year and have told our family they need to join us! Thank you Second Spring! This was our first trip with our son...I was worried how the whole thing would go and your fantastic place made me feel immediately like it was going to be easy being away from home!
The apartment was perfect size for a couple. Very comfortable clean and relatively quiet. Nice garden in the back. Everything worked, internet was fine, and there was AC. This was as very nice during the warm summer week (high 90's). The kitchen(ette) was a bit more challenging as there was no cooktop. They did provide two induction burners and these worked pretty well but they required that the vent be turned on, and we discovered this almost by accident. So some explanation here of how to us this small kitchen would have been useful. The location was really great, several blocks from all downtown attractions. This made experiencing Ashland so much easier and allowed us to see much more of this town. We could walk to the plays and park in 5-10 minutes Great little place, we will come again
We would most definitely come back. We wanted to give feedback in a more personal nature, but there is not a forum to do so. Therefore, here are some suggestions: The comforter in the master bedroom is in need of cleaning, it has an odor. The seating in the entry is not comfortable to view the TV. Nor is it conducive for relaxing between plays etc. Overall, a great place for a couple to come and visit the plays, enjoy the dining and have a more intimate experienced than a hotel.
My Husband and I have been coming to Ashland for 26 years. When our two favorites were booked, I decided to take a chance on Antea's property. We now have a new favorite. The 1 bedroom apartment is perfect for a couple. It is clean, comfortable, quiet and nicely decorated. The location cannot be beat! Just a couple of blocks from the theatres, Ashland Co-op and located behind Growler Guys and Stone Ridge coffee. Grab a morning cup of coffee and come back at lunch for a beer. Thank you for providing such lovely accommodations. We will be back.
Wonderful location...only steps away from the center of town. We really enjoyed the stay at Second Spring....everything was updated and comfortable, though the kitchen could more lighting. We would definately stay again. Libby & Richard Smith
It was the perfect place to stay during my retreat. Plenty of room for one or two. Walking distance to everything. Beautiful town. Quiet and a retreat in itself. Only things I wished for were a comfy chair to relax in and a list of the TV channels.
This is our second stay at Oberon, and we love it. It's very clean, beautifully decorated, and well laid out with a large bathroom and walk-in closet. Ample space for two people, and it's so much nicer than a hotel room. The garden looks really pretty and relaxing, but so far we've only stayed in winter. Looking forward to enjoying it during our next stay. Just a block from the downtown, and right next to Stone Ridge Coffee and The Growler Guys. Small kitchenette is more than adequate, unless you plan on doing lots of cooking. Love it! It's our go-to place in Ashland for 2 people.
My girlfriend and I stayed here for a couple of nights over Thanksgiving weekend. The apartment was comfortable, quiet, and well-furnished, and the proximity to downtown is hard to beat. Would definitely stay here again.
We loved our stay at Oberon. It's beautifully furnished and maintained, and you couldn't ask for a better location. It's literally one block to downtown. Perfect for 2 adults or a couple with one kid. Kitchenette was more than adequate for our needs. If we want a full kitchen, we'll book Titania in the other half of the house. Second Spring Property will be our first choice for all our future stays in Ashland.
Absolutely perfect stay in the perfect location. The accomodation is really perfect. I have nothing to even constuctively criticize, and the owner was delightful.
This property is exactly as pictured, beautifully decorated, clean, and well maintained. Within walking distance to downtown, the Shakespeare Theatre, resturants, and shops. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely stay here again when returning to Ashland.
The house is just blocks away from downtown shops, restaurants and the theaters. Everything was clean, the bed comfortable, the garden relaxing and there were lots of extras: laundry, toiletries and extra towels.
This was a lovely property, and we were greeted upon arrival. Ours was a very hot weekend but the AC made it very pleasant and the garden was a lovely place to relax. Beds were very comfortable and the entire space was spotless!
Our two nights in the Oberon side were memorable, and in a good way. We appreciated the landscaping, having breakfast out in the back yard, listening to the gurgling fountain (modern clean lines, much in line with our tastes). The bed was comfortable, the internet strong, and the cork floors inspire me to remodel. Our only disappointment was that our stove-top espresso maker didn't work on the hotplate (evidently wrong materials). Good thing that Pony Espresso was right around the corner and provided reliable, delicious lattes! This was a welcoming and comfortable place to celebrate our one year anniversary as well as the historic Supreme Court decision on marriage equality!
My partner and I stayed in the Oberon Apartment for the weekend. Beautifully furnished, had everything we needed. One block from downtown so quiet, but close to everything, including Lithia Park which is a gorgeous place to walk. Hosts were super easy to work with. Highly recommend!
Although we made a last minute reservation, our hosts were very accommodating and we completely enjoyed our stay. The apartment was immaculately clean, aesthetically pleasing, quiet, and comfortable.
Kids and I really enjoyed our stay at Oberon in Ashland. Very convenient to downtown and the food coop. The house was clean, cozy, and very comfortable...perfect for our short visit to explore Ashland. We enjoyed the video collection, books, and nicely supplied kitchen. The washer and dryer in the basement were very welcome after a few days on the road. We would definitely stay here again.
My wife, 2 year old son, and I, had a great stay atthe Oberon in Ashland. The accommodations were perfect for us. The layout of this very charming and impeccable one bedroom unit in the beautiful craftsman home, is very user friendly. The location is crazily perfect. You are in close walking distance to the heart of downtown and you are also at the edge of the Historic Railroad district that is a neighborhood of beauriful victorian and Craftsman homes that is a joy to takecwalks through. I could go on and on about how perfect it was in every conceivable way. We will be back for sure.
Our family stayed in Oberon and could not have been more pleased with our experience. The location was amazing - we walked everywhere. The apartment itself was lovely and we ate all our meals in the beautiful backyard. Our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. The next time we're in Ashland, we will definitely try to stay here again!
My wife and I stayed in Oberon and loved it. The house has been completely renovated and is very well appointed. The location is perfect, a short walk to everything. Both Antea and Dudley are great hosts providing a wealth of information.
Oberon was absolutely wonderful. The bungalow is located just off main street, making grocery stores, resturamts, shops, and theater accessible by foot, in minutes. The bungalow has been totally restored, and is not only beautiful but functional. We found everything we needed. We would recommend the Oberon to anyone wanting to add luxury and relaxation to their Ashland experience. Above & Beyond!
We recently stay at the Oberon in Ashland. The accommodations were great. Location was the best. Very easy walking into town. So much better than staying in a hotel.
This property (an historical Ashland house, completely renovated -- 'down to the timbers' -- by a Master Builder) was a wonderful surprise. Within 2 blocks of downtown, the Shakespeare Festival theatres, coffee shops, restaurants and Lithia Park - a phenomenal hiking area. The listing and photos are very accurate and the cleanliness and detailed maintenance of the property was characteristic of a very cared-for and fine home. As visitors get to know this exceptional property it will be constantly booked, I advise making your reservation early as there are only 2 apartments available and Ashland in the summer is very busy. Everything was extraordinarily clean and well laid out including a beautiful private garden and fountain/pool in the back. Within a 5 minute walk to town though amazingly very private and quiet. Management was welcoming, helpful and easy to work with. Ashland is such a magical town, we will certainly recommend a stay at 'Second Spring' to our friends and we will definitely be back!
What a wonderful sunny and peaceful place to stay and relax. We were in Titania (the larger of the 2 rentals) with a recently updated and remodeled full kitchen so we could eat breakfast and lunch in but go out to explore all the nice restaurants for dinner in the Ashland area - all within easy walking distance! The weather was very pleasant so we were able to enjoy some sunny afternoons lounging on the front porch with some good books yet be within an easy walk of OSF, restaurants, Lithia Springs Park and shopping. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to our friends!
This is such a great place. I was in town for a film festival and stayed at the Oberon. The property is centrally located to downtown Ashland. The room itself has everything you will need- comfortable bed, kitchen, massive shower, and a cozy living room. It's obvious that Dudley, the property owner, puts a lot of care into making this a great place to stay. Highly recommend.
