Great Vacation Unit, Ocean View and Pool- that You Will Love

5 Cross Bay Road, 5 Cross Bay Road

'Neston' is on 2 acres of property, located in a very quiet and secluded neighborhood.

Enjoy the Beautiful Views of Harrington Sound one of the most Beautiful inlets in Bermuda.

Harrington Sound is a wonderful inland lake in Bermuda surrounded mainly by Hamilton parish and Smiths parish. There is a small narrow inlet that connects this lake to Atlantic ocean, known as the Flatts inlet.

The water in this lake mostly flows in through the underwater caves and subterranean passages. The sound has been named after Lucy Harrington, a lady from the Elizabethan days who did a lot for the Parish.

Harrington sound has many small islands in it like the Trunk island and Rabbit Island. Some of them are inhabited through out the year.

The water area is excellent for activities like swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, windsurfing etc. Although there are many types of fish that you can find here, over the years the population of shell fish like the scallops have been steadily decreasing.

The Large Studio makes you feel at home, away from home. The Kitchenette features refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, pots pan and utensils. Daily cleaning and linen service can be available at a price.

There is an ample supply of towels for both the beach, pool and bath.

A King-size bed accommodates two. Internet service is provided FREE so that you can stay in touch with others, or your office. Flat Screen Television and Telephone.

'Neston' is in walking distance to the Beach, or catching the Bus. It is about 5 min away from two of Bermudas' BEST attractions, the Aquarium and Zoo and the Crystal Cave.

If you desire a mixture of relaxation and quietness than 'Neston' is for you.

If our Calendar indicates that it is booked, check with us as we may be able to accommodate you in our Garden Unit.

    Nice place and view.

Host met us after we checked in and then took us to the grocery store which was greatly appreciated. For those who are using public transportation, there is a hilly walk from the accommodation to the bus stop. For those of us who are challenged while walking, this took about 15 minutes and not as quick as others have stated.

    Great place!

My husband and I traveled to Bermuda for our 15th wedding anniversary. Hurricane Humberto set its sights on Bermuda a few days before we were supposed to leave. Our trip status was touch and go for several days prior, and Wayne was just the best. To make a long story short, we got on the first plane out to Bermuda right after their airport re-opened, and we had an amazing trip. The island and people are so wonderful that it hardly mattered that buses weren't running right away and some businesses were closed. Wayne offered us rides and helped with everything he could. I would 100 percent recommend- close to bus stop if you aren't opposed to a bit of walking. Property itself is gorgeous. Everything was wonderful. We hope to make it back! Thank you Wayne!!! :)

We are so happy to have stayed at Wayne's Paradise in Bermuda. Great communication, Super friendly, and more than happy to give you recommendations anywhere on the island. Our rental was a 1 bedroom, 1 bath with a small kitchen/ living room area and a patio. Everything was clean and fresh. The only thing I would suggest to Wayne would be to replace the shower-head in the bathroom - its a little older and hard to wash the hair. Other than that - THAT'S IT! It was perfect otherwise. In the backyard, he has concrete steps that lead you down into the "Harrington Sound" inlets - which are absolutely breathtaking to see. He also has a beautiful in-ground pool (very clean) We definitely look forward to staying with Wayne again!

A wonderful property, well off the beaten track, offering total relaxation with a great pool, gorgeous view, and lovely lawn with comfortable suncots and chairs. There's no traffic noise; listen to the birds and the breeze rustling the trees and be lulled to sleep by the tree frogs' chirps. It was exactly the seclusion I was looking for on this visit to beautiful Bermuda. The bus stops on North Road are a fair distance but if you enjoy walking, it's a pleasant walk, up and down hills, past horse stables and paddocks. Bring good walking shoes and a refillable water bottle and take your time to enjoy the walk. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Thank you, Wayne and family.

    Just perfect!

We read the reviews of this site and were expecting a place with terrific amenities, a great location on the island and friendly help from the owner and his family (when needed). Unfortunately, with the exception of the friendliness of the owner's family, this site was lacking in a number of areas. POSITIVES: -There's a gas station and market at the end of the street which is about a 2 minute ride by scooter. -The location has a beautiful view of Harrison Sound with a pool and access to Harrison Sound. It is close to Shelly Bay which we enjoy for swimming/ snorkeling and is close to the Aquarium and Flatts Village. -The owner's family were friendly/helpful in answering our questions about the site and the amenities. - Charcoal grill - Their two pups BB and CC made us smile daily. THE LESS THAN POSITIVES: - Upon our arrival there was a notable smell of cigar smoke in the room and the patio. - On day two, we found the coffee pot was not cleaned and filled with moldy coffee grounds. -Tiny bathroom with no shelves -The few pans in the kitchen were unusably scorched with food/pitted- We ended up buying a new skillet and two sharp knives and left them for future guests. -No battery in smoke detector. -The ceiling fan caked with dirt. -On third day, yard furniture was stored away for possible storm but not put out again when storm didn't come, furniture left next to house. -The cleaning of the pool became less regular the longer we were there. There was a significant amount of algae that increased as the days passed. -The access to Harrison Sound is fairly treacherous. Very steep, narrow cement stairs with no handholds, cement landing was not in particularly good condition and the stairs into the water were in worse condition. Trash and debris covering kayak. -Laundry room was a mess. The dryer vented directly into the room, the washer required reaching into the motor box to push the start button. Dryer requires unplugging to reset with each use and several repetitive steps to bypass service codes that prevent it from working. -Room had an iron but no board. -When stripping the bed upon departure, we found some disturbing stains on the mattress cover. -Screens in disrepair, the building could use paint. -Would have been helpful to know there's no phone in the rental for local calls. I am sad to say this property is not maintained as it should be and feel if the property owner found these issues when he traveled he would find them unacceptable.

The Furberts are available and helpful as you live and learn at this property. If you are a walker and take public transportation be ready for adventures and challenges. The walks can become treks if you are not prepared for long times in the humid heat of the day. While amenities are good, there needs to be a clearer written communication on how and where to get the necessities of towels, food provisions, and access to their shore which is only found by descending along a brief but steep cement staircase. Except for two small dogs who can create a barking stir at any moment, the site is rather secluded and peaceful. Be sure to secure reliable taxis to the airport as there are some who booked us only to find out there are no drivers availble for our pick up! Overal this location is enjoyable with a beautiful pool and views.

Just a short 2 1/2 hour flight from Toronto is the beautiful island of Bermuda. We stayed 2 weeks at "Neston", 5 Brown Estate in the unit facing the pool on the right. The unit was small but had everything we needed for 2 people. Wayne & his family are great people and made us feel very welcome! Shelly Bay Market Place is a short hike away and has everything you need in the way of groceries. The Bermudian people are wonderful and very helpful . Many things to see and do there. We booked a small Boston Whaler from H2O sports in Somerset and spent a great day on the water. Also really enjoyed Tom Moore's jungle ( not marked - on the right hand side before the causeway heading to the airport. To sum it up - great people, beautiful beaches & keep singing Wayne! My husband and I visited "Neston" on August 5th - 9th, 2017. We were so surprised when we saw the view! It's hard to tell, in a picture, how gorgeous it is. We had the room in front of the pool, and were more than satisfied with the accommodations. We did all of our swimming and snorkeling in the Harrington Sound, which is easily accessed from stairs (amazing) on the property ....bring water shoes. The only thing that was slightly challenging was transportation. Once we realized that we could walk to the post office and buy bus/ferry passes, we were all set. There are two places to buy food within walking distance, and Shelly Bay Beach is walking distance as well, but we chose to swim in the Sound. Wayne, the owner, and his family are very helpful and kind. One last tip...set up your cab ride, back to the airport, prior to your last day. Great vacation!

The property itself is great. The location is central. Short walk from a bus stop (on one of the main lines that runs regardless of weekends and holidays), a gas station that has basic food supplies (also where you can order sandwiches and other fast food that is surprisingly good). The property also has access to the ocean, a beach nearby, and a pool. Our unit was clean, well equipped, and as described. The WiFi went down for a few hours and was fixed almost immediately (we weren't in the unit anyway). Finally, Wayne is a fantastic host. He was helpful and kind. Answered all of our questions without issue. Would definitely stay here again!

We loved, loved our recent stay. The property had fabulous views. It is located in between both St. George and Hamilton. We rented a scooter to get around the island. The house had a nice large pool. The Poolside Unit studio was a perfect size with plenty of room and nice breezes. We only used the air conditioner one afternoon. We sat on the porch every morning and night. We had the use of Kayaks at our disposal as well. We used the grill by the pool for dinner a couple of nights. There were 2 rain ponchos in the closet which we unfortunately had to use, but it was a great touch to have those available to us. The owner of the property, Wayne, was super nice and helpful during our entire stay. We so enjoyed talking to him and learning more about Bermuda, its history, its politics and it's people. His family was very nice and helpful as well. We only wish we could have stayed longer. We were so sad to leave after having stayed a week. We will MOST DEFINITELY return - one of our best vacations EVER! My only suggestion would be to bring paper plates, bowls, cups and utensils if you plan on eating a lot at the property, (which we did), and don't want to wash dishes. The unit itself had minimal silverware and dishes. There is a grocery store, pizza place and gas station very close to the property as well.

My wife and I spent a week as guests of Wayne and his family in May 2016. It could not have been more perfect. The setting is beautiful, overlooking Harrington Sound. Each morning we would take our coffee to the Adirondack chairs and relax watching the water in the bay. Then the question was, swimming in the pool or in Harrington? The location in Hamilton Parish put you a short distance from St. George's, the aquarium and the Crystal Caves. Hamilton and the South Shore beaches were only a little farther. We had the pool unit, with its king-size bed and kitchenette. It was perfect for our needs. A full-size grocery store was only minutes away, and we ate our breakfasts at home, and packed our beach lunches, saving a great deal of money. Wayne or his son were available to take care of any minor question or problem. Leaving was painful, but we plan on returning soon. Highly, highly recommended.

Having been to Bermuda twice by cruise ship, our stay at Neston was a new and wonderful experience. Our accommodation was clean, provided private and spacious living space with beautiful views of the pool area and Harrington Sound. There is a grocery store and gas station conveniently located not too far away. The property is not on a main artery of traffic, but that is a great feature for quiet and relaxation. We rented scooters (which were dropped off and picked up from the property) and travelled all over the island to truly capture it's beauty and experience the hospitable locals that can never do enough for you. Now to Wayne Furbert, our homeowner...what a wonderful and caring gentleman. He was waiting at the front step for us upon our arrival. After settling in, he offered to take us to the grocery store and patiently waited for us and returned us back to the property. I am sure this resulted in him being late for his meeting, but not one word of complaint or even mention. Later that night he recommended a restaurant and even dropped us off. Wayne went above and beyond with his kindness, knowledge and hospitality. Always ready and willing to help with a question or recommendation when asked. I look forward to a return to Neston and Bermuda. We had a great holiday that will not be forgotten. I highly recommend this property for a relaxing vacation...beautiful property, hospitable host, warm sunshine, sandy beaches, friendly locals and the beauty of can one go wrong?

We came back 30 days ago and Bermuda is still very much on our minds. Neston met all our expectations, even beyond! Clean, a large bedroom with a King Size Bed, a reasonably well-equipped kitchen, a pool and Harrington Sound steps away. You may use a kayak and reach an island with a nice little beach right in front of the property. This rental is a calm, quiet and serene place with beautiful surroundings and well-kept grounds. Most of the time there were just the two of us in the pool. Imagine yourselves in it, nursing a drink, watching the rise of a full moon through the leaves of palm trees. No noise, just the warm breeze and those whistling frogs... absolutely romantic! A 10-15 minute walk leads you to a grocery store and a very efficient public transportation system. Even though this mode of transportation was very acceptable we will rent a scooter next time. What is written about 'dangerous scooters' on the Internet may be somewhat exaggerated in our opinion. The owner, Wayne (family included), went out of his way to provide information and tips. He even drove us around during a torrential downpour. The 'bermudian way' Wayne kept saying! Discreet but present when needed, a nice, funny and witty fellow. We got along well. Frankly, and we travelled quite extensively, we rarely dealt with so friendly, helping, kind, polite and good humoured people. The plates on vehicles state BERMUDA - ANOTHER WORLD. True, it says it all. We experienced it. We will come back... don't know when, but we will. We strongly recommend this rental. Thank you so much Mr. Furbert for this lovely sojourn. Québec's official motto is JE ME SOUVIENS - I remember. Not exactly the same context (!) but we will certainly remember this holiday!

Our stay at Neston was very homely. Mr. Furbert and his family are very friendly and hospitable and helpful. They took us to rent our scooters and helped with booking taxis. The property is beautiful! Our room was spotless and having the kitchenette and fridge was very useful. Our favourite thing to do was walk down to the dock and sit by the water. Having the scooter was very useful as the main road is a at least a 10-15 minute walk. There is a great grocery store and gas station close by. We went to Hamilton and south shore beaches multiple times during our stay. St.Georges is also only a half an hour ride away. Anywhere you need to go in Bermuda is only a half an hour ride from Neston. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Bermuda. The only minor issue we faced was the the air conditioner seemed to be under powered. But as we visited in May, it was still very pleasant and we didn't face any discomfort.

Staying at Neston was completely different than any of my other trips there. The home is lovely, as are the efficiencies. It is a beautiful location. Wayne was a delightful host and always checking in on me to make sure I was happy. Unfortunately, he was so busy during my time there, we really did not have a lot of time to have conversations. We would chat out by the pool as he cleaned it and took care of cleaning the chairs after the rains etc. I had the pleasure of getting to stay in two of the units. My first 10 nights were in the Garden unit and the last 7 in the Pool House. I requested the move knowing it was empty and the view of the water and the island from my windows was breathtaking. The only thing I would like to see happen there is that the kitchens were better equipped with necessary things. I do not suggest staying here if you are not able to walk or ride the mopeds. I had to do the walking and it was quite a walk to the bus stop and grocery store. If you are fortunate enough to have the money for a cab whenever you want to go somewhere, you would be set. Fortunately, I was able to do the walking, but not everyone is.

My husband and I stayed in the pool house and from arrival to departure this was the perfect property and owner. More personal than a hotel. We were greeted by the owner upon arrival who was very welcoming and had a gracious warm spirit. He showed us around the property, drove us to the grocery store and around the neighborhood orienting us where to walk to the beach and closest bus stop. A 10-15 minute walk will get you to the grocery store, convenience store, post office, pizza place, beach, dollar store and bus stops. We felt safe walking the neighborhood at night. We arrived on the weekend when the post office was closed to purchase bus passes so the owner brought us into Hamilton, waited at the bus stop for us to purchase passes and showed us around the town of Hamilton and where we wanted to go. The bus system was easy to use, included the ferry, and the bus drivers where helpful on where to get off. The property has spectacular views of Harrington Sound, a warm clean pool, and a dock with kayaks for use. We enjoyed the tranquility of having coffee watching the sun rise and cocktails watching the sunset over the water. The pool house is cozy but perfect as you don't want to be inside while staying on this gorgeous property. The unit is clean with a comfortable bed, cable TV, small refrigerator, sink, microwave, and stove. The owner gives you your space but checks in and is available for any needs or questions. He is knowledgeable about the island and eager to share helpful information on where to go or how to get around. We felt very well taken care of here by the owner and would highly recommend this property. Many thanks to Wayne for being a fantastic host, we look forward to coming back!!!!

Wayne is a lovely host. My husband and I stayed in two of his units in early August. The rental units were very clean, comfortable, and equipped with all the necessities (towels, hair dryer, coffee machine, kitchen with utensiles, cable, wifi internet, etc). The properties offer breathtaking views of the blue water...and having access to a pool is a bonus! His units are well maintained, and Wayne is available to chat at any given point. He offers great suggestions on places to go, sites to see, etc. The location of his home is ideal and within close proximity to a few beaches, and walking trails. There is a gas station, scooter rental, grocery store, and dollar store all located within minutes away (that are open fairly late). Wayne has kayaks available for use on his waterfront propery. Harrington Sound is definitely a site to see. We highly recommend his rental properties, and will definitely be back to visit beautiful Bermuda. Our stay with Wayne exceeded all of our expectations!

Our stay in Bermuda was absolutely amazing. We were married on Horseshoe Bay beach, and had a wonderful time touring the island. Wayne's Neston property is gorgeous, with a great view of Harrington sound. We had a great time touring the sound on the kayaks. Wayne's family was so helpful. We can't thank them enough for helping us out when we came across the inevitable pre-wedding problems. We will absolutely be visiting Neston again in the future.

The Pool House is also comfortable although small, like a pool house! Wayne is a wonderful host. The view is beautiful, definitely take the kayaks out in the early morning when Harrington Sound is like glass and keep an eye out for the Eagle Rays. Thank you Wayne, we will definitely be back!

We just spent a most enjoyable 7 day vacation at the Neston, hosted by the Honorable Wayne Furbert. Wayne greeted us in a very friendly manner, and he took us to buy groceries and he also provided us with a bus/ ferry pass for the week. Wayne is a member of the Bermuda Parliament and on Friday, he took us to view this body in their regular session. Wayne also took us to the Queen's Birthday Parade and on a private tour of the island on Saturday. As you can tell, this treatment far exceeded our expectations. At the end of the week we felt we had met a truly genuine person and a new good friend. Future guests should be aware of the fact that this property is a 15 minute walk to the nearest bus stop, which is a trip we made only once a day.Other trips would probably require the services of a taxi, which can be quite expensive. We would return to this vacation spot because the "Spin" stops with the Honorable Wayne Furbert, and " he's definitely looking out for you".

One of the highlights for Shawn was fishing in the sound. One of the highlights for me was kayaking to lunch at Rustico. Bermuda is a wonderful place to visit, with some of the friendliest people I've ever met while vacationing. I highly recommend Neston. It is within walking distance to the bus, groceries, beer & wine, and the railway trail. It was perfect for us. Enjoy!!

We would like to extend a very special thank you to our host for spending time with us and making our holiday such an enjoyable experience. It was a very interesting week and we learned so much about Bermuda. The location of the property is quite lovely and peaceful. It is an easy walk to the bus stop and market place. We thoroughly enjoyed taking the buses and ferry. Bermuda is so charming visually, with all the coloured homes, secluded beaches and the beautiful blue water. We spent time in St. George's, Hamilton and the Royal Naval Dockyard. Enjoyed lunch at The Swizzle Inn, Gulfstream and Rustico. We would recommend this property and will come back soon. Owner Wayne was an excellent host. He went up and above to insure our stay in Bermuda was great. His property is amazing! Awesome water view. We took advantage of the kayak and even caught a couple fish off the dock. The property is located a bit off the beaten trail so know its about a 10-15 minute walk to the bus. My husband and I were planning on renting a scooter until we realized they drive on the opposite side of the road. However we did use a taxi for the nights we wanted to enjoy a nice evening out. Nice property overall. Modest efficiency but had all one may need. We also enjoyed the pool.

We stayed for 5 nights. The host was great - greeting us on arrival, showing us around the property, taking us to pick up a scooter, answering any questions we had. I would recommend getting a scooter to get around the island, it made it easy to get around and see the sights rather than waiting for buses. The room was clean and had everything needed for our stay - basic kitchen & cooking supplies, coffee maker, towels, linens, etc. The weather was cooler and cloudy, so we didn't get to enjoy the pool, but it would be a great spot in the summer. The property was nice and had a great view. Would definitely stay there again!

We took a snooze in the hammock and used the double kayak. There is a true peacefulness about Wayne's property! All in all, Wayne is a gracious host and true Bermuda ambassador. He helped my husband and I get groceries, gave us bus passes (we were not the scooter types) and helped my husband find some great places to play golf around the island. Would highly recommend!

Our hosts could not have been more welcoming or kind. The owner took me to buy essential groceries on the evening of our arrival and gave us some bus/ferry tickets to make our first day's exploring easier. This was kind enough, but what was completely beyond the call of duty was for our host to drive us to the meeting point for a group walk on Sunday morning, which meant leaving home at 06.20. The location and layout of the property worked wonderfully for us and it was marvellous to have use of the pool and kayaks when we wished. We had a superb week, felt we got to know the island pretty well in a short time and made some firm friends. Thank you, Mr and Mrs F. We will be back - and so will our friends!

My husband and I recently stayed in the pool unit of this beautiful property. We are both 30 years old, and although we have been married 6 years, this property would be an excellent honeymoon location! The taxi ride from the airport was short and scenic-very enjoyable. Upon arrival, our host Wayne was waiting for us. He is such a kind person and is very interested in making sure that your stay is wonderful! After a tour of the property, Wayne drove us to the grocery and into Hamilton to take our scooter driving test. Having Wayne as our host was like having a friend or family member on the island, which was so nice! Wayne even stayed with us during the driving test to make sure that he thought we could drive the scooter safely. There are so many forms of transportation available on Bermuda. On our 5 night stay we used taxi, scooter, bus, and ferry--and we recommend each form! If you feel comfortable on the scooter, we feel this is the way to go just because of the freedom to zip around the island as you please (You can take your scooter on certain ferry routes to reduce driving time). The bus/ferry do run on a tight schedule and are very clean and reliable. The "Neston" property itself if unbelievable! The views are some of the most beautiful we have ever seen. The pool is perfect temperature, also very private and quiet. There is direct water access to the Harrington Sound from the property, as well as a 2 person kayak. We were able to kayak to a nearby island, which was incredible. Bermuda itself is a wonderful travel destination! During our stay we rented a Boston Whaler boat for a day and island hopped (Sandy's Parish), visited St. George's Parish (shopping, tea, Tobacco Bay Beach), visited the South Shore (Stunning beaches, Gibbs Lighthouse), toured Hamilton (Shopping, restaurants), toured the caves, visited Tom Moore's Jungle, visited Flatts Village (aquarium) plus so much more!! Bermuda is a great location for having an adventurous vacation, or just relaxing. "Neston" is the perfect property in the perfect location (centrally located) for a trip to Bermuda! Also, we found the food in Bermuda to be delicious! We would return to Bermuda in a heartbeat, and hope to in the future. While I'm sure we will have many new adventures on our next trip, one thing is for sure, we will be staying at "Neston"!! Thank you Wayne for your hospitality!!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Garden Suite at Neston. The property is very clean and well maintained. We would recommend it without hesitation. The pool temperature was ideal for a refreshing dip when we returned from exploring on a warm day. The owner, Wayne, drove us to get groceries the day we arrived so we were well stocked for our one week stay. We bought passes for the bus/ferry and found that was a great way to get around. However, it is about a 15 minute walk to the bus stop which can be a drag on a hot day in August. Better to rent a scooter as long as you are comfortable driving on the left side of the road. Wayne is a great host. He is a fountain of knowledge about Bermuda. We had one rainy day out of seven and that day he kindly offered to drive us for a tour of places we had not yet seen. What a delight! Another key feature of Neston is that it is very private. There are only two apartments. Occasionally we would meet up with another couple by the pool but the rest of the time we had the pool to ourselves. Sitting on one of the large chairs looking out over Harrington Sound is very peaceful and relaxing. Kayaking from the dock at Neston is an amazing experience. The people we met in Bermuda were very friendly and polite. They even have a code of ethics posted on the bus and people are respectful of one another. With a population of only 65,000 people, it also seems that everyone knows each other. What a wonderful way of life! Wayne - thanks for a memorable week. We will return.

The owner made the stay for my daughter and me the most pleasureable vacation we have ever enjoyed together. He is such a natural host, his personality exuding interest in our well-being and creating a convivial sense of being free to enjoy the best life had to offer. He did so many things that were above and beyond the call of duty. From welcoming me to come early and get settled, before driving me to meet my daughter at the airport. Then he drove us to pick up scooters. When we flunked the driving test he good-naturedly drove us to pick up bus tickets. and the property itself was extraordinarly beautiful. Down a few stone steps to the waters' edge we could walk into the water for an early morning swim. Where one morning I was joined by a ray chasing fish! A two-person kayak was ours to use to paddle to a nearby island where we beached and snorkeled. Extraordinary! We can't wait to return!

Our trip to Bermuda was incredible. Using this property was the key to such a successful and relaxing trip. Our host was not only kind and personable but also a wealth of information – he is very connected with local businesses and was able to provide great advice to help us spend more time having fun and less time dealing with vacation “overhead”. We are already planning our next visit to Bermuda and we intend to stay in this property. We used the lovely pool on several occasions during the day and in the evening it was wonderful to sit out and have a drink while watching the moon over Hamilton Sound. We used the double kayak on two occasions to tour the sound and the islands. We also found a nice place to ground the kayak and swim for some time. The apt. is small but very clean, well maintained, and had everything we wanted including a small kitchenette, bathroom with shower, full-sized refrigerator, table and chairs, and a spacious bedroom with satellite TV. I was able to watch local New England sports! The air conditioning worked perfectly. The property is about 15 minutes scooter drive to Hamilton and all of the restaurants and the ferry, 15 minutes to St. Georges. It is about 45 minute scooter drive to Horseshoe beach. I found the location to be ideal in terms of location and with peace and quiet! If you make your scooter reservation at Oleanders they will pick up the scooter at the property when you are ready to leave the island. I would strongly recommend this property for your vacation to any of my friends. It was a great value, comfortable and clean. Our host was very kind and helpful and helped make us feel very welcome.

My wife and I spent a week at "Neston" on our honeymoon and couldn't have been more pleased. The one bedroom with kitchen and bath down by the pool was lovely and comfortable, including AC a spacious closet and TV with HBO. The property's pool is nice and warm, and there's direct access to Harrington Sound, as well as a kayak, for the adventuresome. The owner went out of his way to make us comfortable, even giving us a tour of a few parishes the day we got there as well as giving us a ride to the airport the day we left. The bus route along North Shore road is an easy 6 minute walk away, and it will get you to both Hamilton and St. George's in less than 20 minutes and to Flatt's village in about 10 minutes. There's also a grocery store within walking distance (about 10 minutes on foot) which is a rarity on the island so the location is perfect! Highly highly recommend this place for privacy, amenities and an excellent host!

We walked to nearby Shelley Beach and ran most mornings on the nearby rail trail which runs along the ocean. The property owner exudes hospitality and offers a wealth of information. He is a former Minister of Tourism on the island and knows a lot about the people and sights of the island. When we arrived, he took us to pick up a few groceries and our scooter. Throughout our stay he was available by phone and occasionally on property to answer questions. We really enjoyed getting to know him and his family, but he has a strong sense of boundaries and would give absolute privacy to guests who aren't as chatty as us. :) We stayed in the garden unit. Each morning we opened the double French doors to catch the breeze and see the garden hedge and blue sky. We even enjoyed a bunch of ripe bananas from the garden that the host offered us as we discussed the various fruits growing there. We took our breakfast to the roof of the pool house each morning to view Harrington Sound while eating. Lounge chairs on the lawn also provided a nice place to sit and watch rays jumping out of the water and the local long tail birds fishing. The unit itself is quite nicely trimmed out with tile floor, cedar trim and vaulted ceiling. The fully equipped kitchen offers flexibility to prepare meals. The bathroom is small but nicely tiled. Towels and beach towels are conveniently provided. We rented a scooter for the week and this location gave us great access to the island. We were about midway between St. George and Hamilton. South shore beaches were also easily accessible within a 20 minute ride. About a 5 minute ride away was the quaint village of Flatt's. There you will find a great aquarium/zoo and a good Italian restaurant Rustico's. This is a great rental property and I highly recommend it. Swizzle Inn and Grotto Bay Resort are a short ride away for meals or water sport rentals. We took an afternoon cruise and snorkel expedition on the Ana Luna catamaran from Grotto Bay.

We stayed here for the Bermuda Triangle Challenge and it was the perfect place for my wife and I...far enough away from the crowds to enjoy the peace and quiet yet close enough to the bus stop and market to get wherever and whatever we needed. Like virtually ever person we met, Mr Furbert was the perfect ambassador for Bermuda. He helped us arrange transportation from the airport to the unit and personally met us to give us a tour of the grounds. Later that night, he not only offered dinner suggestions but he also took us into town and gave us a tour of Hamilton! Two of our races started pretty early on Sat and Sun and taking the bus wasn't an option. We asked about taxis and what we got was Mr Furbert taking time out of his morning to take us to the start of each of the races, he was even at the corner in Flatts Village cheering us on as we ran the 1/2 marathon! The view from the unit is amazing and the water is just as clear and beautiful as he has described. From his dock you can sit and relax, go for a swim or use the kayak he makes available to guests. The bus stop and local market are a short 5-10 min walk from the house and you can be in Hamilton in about 15 mins. This truely was the perfect get away for us and if you like to have time for quiet relaxation and yet still be close to all of the action then this is the place for you and the prices are far more reasonable than anything else we found which was an added bonus. We'll definitely be back!

Still, you'll find you're located an easy walk to bus lines and the market (app. 10 minutes). Taxis will also come right to the property for pick-up. We opted not to rent a scooter, but the owner can help coordinate this for you. Wayne and his family are perfect ambassadors and are happy to answer your questions. Wayne met us upon arrival and took us to the town shopping square so we could familiarize ourselves with the area. Thank you! There were days we stayed right on the property enjoying the pool, the beautiful Harrington Sound and the view! Evening drinks on the pool house roof-top let us see jumping rays in the Sound! The modern unit was stocked with everything you need to settle right in! Loved the coffee!! Paradise found! We just returned from our spectacular trip to Bermuda. The Neston Estate was everything we could ask for. Wayne was the most gracious host; he offered the right mix of hospitality and assistance while ensuring your privacy. The grounds were majestic and well manicured; the apartment immaculate, very quiet and comfortable; the view and accessibility to the waterfront were pristine. After a day exploring Bermuda on our scooter, sampling the local fare with a late lunch, we shopped at the nearby supermarket, less than ½ mile down the road. As we turned into the Neston driveway we would feel like we were returning home to our own estate; each time gasping in awe at the spectacular house and turquoise water view that greeted us. We swam every morning from the dock on the Estate and also enjoyed Wayne’s kayak. I ran on nearby rail trails that overlooked the ocean. At day’s end we enjoyed a drink and some appetizers on the lawn chairs overlooking the sound. The temperature was delightful and there were no mosquitoes! This estate offers tranquility and serenity with the gentle sounds of nature surrounding you, reminding you at every glance how truly spectacular Bermuda is. We are already planning a return trip next year.

I was able to get used to the water in the Sound from the private stairs leading to a dock on the Sound from which to swim or launch the tandem kayak. The location was very private and we felt completely at ease on the deck by the pool and used both daily. We had our coffee and breakfast on the patio just outside the efficiency, watching the sunrise over the water. The bus stop is a ten minute walk and the local pizza restaurant not only had great pizza, but a dvd rental machine we used (we watched the DVD's on my laptop). We used the bus system (seemed safer than renting a moped) to go to Hamilton, the Royal Naval Dockyard, and St. Georges. The Aquarium and Zoo near Flatt's inlet is quite close and worth a trip, with dinner at Indigo's to follow (a quaint restaurant with great food across the street from the aquarium). We enjoyed the best fish and chips on the island at the Frog and Onion Pub at the dockyard and took the ferry back to Hamilton from there which is quicker than the bus. The trips to St. Georges were nice and on our last day we went to the Swizzle Inn and had a fine send off meal and then were picked up by Melvin Outerbridge, former fire chief, turned cab driver. I recommend the local rockfish cooked with banana or the Bermuda Fish Chowder. I also liked the Wahoo and other local seafood. Be prepared to spend a bit more than you are used to for groceries and dining out. The owner of the house and effficiency, Wayne Furbert, was a pleasure to talk to and he took us to the local market for groceries to make breakfast each day in the apartment. He gave us a ride to the post office to get bus tickets and gave us samples of coffee to use each day, which were a treat. The internet access allowed us to keep in touch with our kids and upload our many pictures from the trip. We drank the water straight from the tap and always had a bottle or two cooling in the refrigerator so we would not have to buy water while out hiking. Shelley Bay Park and beach are a five minute bus ride away and provide great snorkeling. Had we more time, we would have gone to more of the south shore beaches. The efficiency was clean, well equipped and the grounds were well kept. The views are gorgeous and the Sound is a wonderful place to swim. I found a 100 year old hair tonic bottle from New York in the shallo

My sister & I stayed 8 days on this property & LOVED every minute! The accomodations are great, the pool is awesome and the view is "priceless". We liked the quiet "country" surroundings & I loved sitting on the dock by the water - many photo opportunities. The property was clean & well maintained & the owner was very helpful. We used public transportation & the bus stop is conveniently located - approx. 5 minute walk. We enjoyed activities all over the island - just plan ahead & ride the bus & ferry. There is a grocery "Marketplace" within walking distance of the property. There is also a lovely beach within walking distance. I would certainly recommend this property & also plan to stay there again.

We just spent 4 days at Wayne's very cozy property and we would certainly consider staying there again in the future. First of all, the location was convenient enough no matter which part of Bermuda you decide to spend most of you vacation at. Public transit buses are plentiful and you can get a 1,2,3,4,7 day pass for unlimited rides on buses and/or ferries. Secondly, Wayne was a great host and took time out of his busy schedule to give us rides to and from the airport, make a grocery stop and even give us a little architectural tour of Tucker's Point and St.George, which we are very appreciative of since we could not have covered that much ground on our own. The apartment itself was immaculate, had plenty of room for 3 (including our very busy 4 year old) and a well equipped kitchen which was important for us to be able to plan hassle-free days. We did eat out 3 times, but only to try out some of the very recommended restaurants in the area (and they were worth the wait times and the prices), but we also found that there were not too many restaurant options that were unique or reasonably priced. The pool and bay views from the property were adequate to make it a great vacation if one is not big on exploring the beaches. The famous South Shore beaches were only 30-40mins away by bus and it was quiet easy to plan a full day picnicking on those beaches. The closest beach (at Shelly Bay) was about a 15min walk, but only 2 bus stops away. And all of this at a rental rate that takes away the edge from an expensive Bermuda vacation! Overall, a great trip that was made better with our choice of accommodation.

Wow! What a lovely vacation! If you're looking for a great getaway, consider this apartment. It is clean and nicely decorated, and though attached to the owner's main house, it feels very private. Wayne was a great host. He took us to get groceries and then to Hamilton to get bus passes and show us around a bit. You can't rent a car in Bermuda, so taking the bus is an easy and cost-effective option. The bus stop is about a 10-12 minute walk from the property. You can also rent a scooter, which Wayne can help arrange. The pool and grounds were immaculate. We took the kayak across the Sound to the small island and enjoyed finding conch shells. We had breakfast out on the deck every morning while enjoying the beautiful view. At night, we were able to watch our favorite shows because the large t.v. has full cable (including local Boston and New York stations). We also were close to the Bermuda Rail Trail, which provided a beautiful setting for a morning run. (Just be aware that the property at the end of the trail has two dogs who will bark if you try to go further). :) The location is about 20-25 minutes from both Hamilton and St. George's by bus, and a bit longer to the beautiful South Shore Beaches. However, we met several nice locals who were so friendly to chat with, the ride seemed quick. We were also only about 10 minutes from Ocean View Golf Club which has great rates. Taxis are easy to call for and fit our clubs with no problem. Overall, I would recommend staying at Neston to anyone looking for an amazing getaway for a great rate. We can't wait to go back!
