    Great Getaway

    5/5 Stayed Oct 1, 2014

Contradictorily central to Asheville while also being out of the way. This spot is tucked away on a small reservoir bounded by a dam. This was a great place to come to Asheville for an event so I could both experience Asheville, and not be handcuffed by the typical scene. Close to the Whole Foods and a few other convenient shops like the Lowes hardware and Sears makes this a super convenient location for running a few side errands, if needed, and making good use of the unit's included grill and kitchen. Clean, comfortable, and quiet, the landlords are quite easy-going and personable. Altogether worthwhile, whether you rent this unit or its upstairs counterpart, "Lakeside Garden Cottage".

    Sweet serenity

A little piece of heaven. If you enjoy spending time relaxing outside in a hammock, canoeing on a beautiful lake or walking on trails next to a gentle stream this place is a dream. The cottage is tucked away behind the main house, on a quiet street, in a charming neighborhood. The inside of the cottage was surprisingly roomy. I really enjoyed watching the birds feed outside of the living/dining room window. The utensils in the kitchen were substantial enough to make some meals there. FYI, bring your own paper towels and trash bags. There is also a Whole Foods about 5 minutes driving distance, very convenient. The bed was very comfortable, although I brought my own pillow, I'm kind of a pillow snob. The owners were friendly but respected our privacy. I will definitely book it again when I return to Asheville.

    Comfortable Apartment, Peaceful Location

    5/5 Stayed Sep 1, 2014

We stayed for 5 nights in September 2014 & found the apartment comfortable and the location very quiet & peaceful. I am guessing the house was built in the 70's? There was plenty of room for the 2 of us & it had everything we needed in the kitchen & elsewhere. The location is very handy to central Asheville & the GPS showed many of the Cafe's & shops we were looking for to be within 3 miles of the apartment. The owners, Tama & Allison, were friendly and helpful if we needed something, & kind of melted into the background otherwise. The Apartment is the downstairs part of a 2 story dwelling located on the side of a slope surrounded by trees & bush. The Lake is up a short drive. The view from the lounge is primarily trees & bush and quite tranquil. There were people staying in the Cottage above but we did not notice them. We would stay here again. Staying there was a bit like putting on a comfortable pair of slippers.

Pretty and serene in the middle of Asheville

On our first visit to Asheville we were fortunate to find this peaceful place to stay. The 1-br condo has a picture window that shows a green forest with a full bird feeder outside. There is dock on the small lake and one can canoe or use the row boat. It's a convenient location to about anything in Asheville.

Picturesque stay in the snow covered mountains.

We really lucked out when we found this quaint little bungalow. I don't think we could've found a more accommodating and convenient location in Asheville. We hadn't anticipated the severe weather that cut our trip a day short, but our hosts were very helpful in ensuring that we weren't snowed in indefinitely. We look forward to our return trip.

    peaceful stay

What a beautiful peaceful place to stay! We appreciated the apartment being ready, clean, welcoming, and with accents that fostered peacefulness. The apartment was situated in the lower floor of a cottage, perched by a small lake with the sounds of water flowing over the nearby dam...gentle, soothing. The kitchen was easy to navigate and was equipped with everything we needed. We would happily stay there again and will recommend this rental to our friends!

Nice place, nice owner, quiet location, convenient

My fiend and I stayed here for a long weekend and we really enjoyed ourselves. The apartment is on the ground floor level of a larger cottage. The cottage is at the very end of a long driveway in an older, quiet residential neighborhood on a small, cute little lake. It also backs up to the dam so there is the constant comforting sound of a waterfall when outdoors and a lovely forest view. The "dock" is only steps away on the lake and was a perfect place to sit in the morning and drink a cup of coffee and take take in the lovely surroundings. They also have a nice fire pit located right by the dock and a canoe for guests to use. The apartment itself is an older 1970's style cottage that has been rennovated and updated. The owners have left just enough of the 70's charm to keep it's authentic feel and have updated with things like tile floors, paint , fixtures and more modern furniture. Ther eis no TV, but there is a screen and DVD player. The bed in the bedroom was very comfortable and the apartment itself is pretty roomy. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking and dining needs, coffee pot, microwave, full sized fridge, pots and pans etc. Everything was very clean upon arrival. Linens are provided but paper products are not, so remember to bring your own :). The organic garden looks like it's wonderful during the growing season, I also saw a couple of chickens wandering around! The owners were around and let it be known we could stop by their house (on the same property) or by phone, but they keep their distance and gave us plenty of privacy. We saw Tama outdoors often working around the grounds. The location is excellent! It's located right off of 40/240 and is only a few miles from everything downtown. All in all, we had a great stay. I much prefer staying in this type of accomodation over a generic hotel room.

Fun & Relaxing stay in asheville

    5/5 Stayed Oct 1, 2013

This rental is fantastic! We were less than 10 minutes from downtown asheville, yet the place seemed as if you hiked a mountain to a hideaway. Even though we spent a lot of time in downtown asheville, it was nice to have a relaxing atmosphere to come back to in our down time. The rental was very clean and accommodating. Check in was also very easy. Allison and Tama were able to help us find cool places to eat and visit downtown. Overall, great experience. I would definitely recommend it to anyone coming to asheville.
