The house is perfect for a weekend in Jim Thorpe! Location is amazing, super close to town, and the house is cozy and very comfortable. Highly recommend it!
Everything was perfect. The best part was the short walk to downtown to avoid the crowded parking in town. E dry this g hteat
We had a great time staying in this comfortable property over the weekend. The place was clean, well appointed, and located on a quiet street. We will definitely be looking to stay here again in the future.
A little further from town than you might expect, but worth it. The property is awesome.
The weekender was comfortable and a nice spot for a getaway, and Stephen was a wonderful host!
It was our second time visiting and we had a great time! It was perfect for a romantic weekend.
My husband and I both loved the rental. We immediately felt at home, it was so comfortable, and charming. So convenient to the town yet away from the crowds. I highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!
Cozy log cabin decor home with some the owner's beautiful artwork hung on the walls. Great place to stay in Jim Thorpe for a couple or individual. The historic downtown is across the bridge. The owner is quick to respond with any questions you may have. We were able to park in front of the house each day.
This was the perfect property for my weekend away with my cousin. The street is quiet, not too far from downtown, and the property is clean and well-stocked. The owners were friendly and accessible but not intrusive at all. I would highly recommend this apartment.
Perfect getaway! Very conveniently located apartment in quiet area yet so close to downtown. Apartment is comfortable, cozy, very well maintained and clean! It was a hassle-free booking process and communication with owners was pleasant, helpful and personalized. We shopped the boutiques, took some tours, rode the scenic railway and had great meals. Be sure to try Trattoria 903 for a nice Italian dinner at very affordable prices. Also be sure to have breakfast with the locals at East Mauch Chunk Eatery, just 4 blocks from the apartment.
I’m a traveling healthcare worker and was lucky to find this place! Great for day sleeping, and plenty to do on days off. Really cool town and great owners!
Have stayed here many times will surely stay again!
My son and I stayed for a month while looking for an apartment close to Swiftwater. We explored Jim Thorpe and the surrounding area. Jim Thorpe is a wonderful town with beautiful architecture and a wonderful path along the Lehigh River. The house was very clean, all essential cooking utensils, cleaning tools, and net clean household linens were available, including cooking essentials ingredients. The owner kindly provided 2 bicycles which allowed my son and I to explore the path along the river. The fireplace was nice to come back to after a morning walk along the river. The owner was very kind and helpful he even gave us two shirts as souvenirs. Parking was always available right in front of the house. We would love to stay again sometime in the future. I highly recommend this property and look forward to returning!
We had a great time. The apartment is adorable and very well appointed. Stephen had bottled water, sugar, salt, club sodas, coffee, so it is great that you do not have to pack or buy those type of staples. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was excellent. Overall everything was very clean. There is a DVD player. I did not bring movies, I will next time. It was GREAT!! Will definitely return.
Loved our stay here. Property was very clean, comfortable, and beautiful. Property owners couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this property and look forward to returning!
We had a wonderful weekend exploring Jim Thorpe and the surrounding area. The house was clean and the fireplace was nice to come back to after a chilly morning hike. Owners were very kind and helpful. We would love to stay again sometime!
Excellent time! Will be back again in the future.
3rd year renting with Steve, always a wonderful time.
This beautifully decorated rental is located within walking distance of Jim Thorpe and included all the amenities listed and more. Steve was very accommodating and responded quickly to all of my messages. The rental includes everything needed to prepare meals, as well as a jug of spring water in the fridge and clean lines. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone!
We came here to celebrate our anniversary and we loved it so much we want to make it an annual way to celebrate. The place was so warm and welcoming and so were the owners. Thank you so much!
Property was clean and comfortable. Location was great as it was close enough to walk or bike to the main section of town, but far enough so that parking was super easy. We didn’t have much need to communicate with the property owner, but in the check in info his cell was available. It was a lovely weekend.
We had a great time and a comfortable stay. Thank you very much!
This was a little bit farther of a walk to the Center of Jim Thorpe than I had hoped, but still within walking distance if we didn't want to drive. The furnishings were lovely, all appliances worked, and it was nice to not worry about bringing our own linens or towels. A grocery store, wine/beer, and pizza shop were a short walk away too. Quiet residential street that had adequate street parking. Would definitely stay again!
We had planned to do biking and other activities around Jim thorpe and this is the perfect place and it worked for us. Steve was pretty nice in responding back to all our questions.
Clean and roomy. Recommended.
Everything was exactly as advertised. Comfortable and relaxing. We may be back :-)
This was a perfect spot for us to do all the things we wanted to experience that weekend highly recommend this apartment for anyone.
It was a nice location and close to town, but out of the busy downtown. Owner was great and helpful.
Owners very helpful with restaurant recommendations and activities or sites to enjoy. Would stay there again.
Close to downtown . Easy access. Private entrance.
The Jim Thorpe Weekender is such a cozy and nice place to spend time in. It was very clean and had a unique decor to it. Me and my wife stayed a couple of days for the weekend and had an amazing time. Everything worked and all the amenities were top notch. Steve and his wife were very welcoming, they also gave us tickets to a concert near by which we attended and they gave us T-shirts as well. They are the benchmark of rental owners and customer service. We will surely go back! Thank you Steve for such amazing hospitality, it was beyond our expectations! Highly Recommended!
Loved this rental. Will Book again! Clean, great amenities, convenient location.. owner was kind, courteous and very helpful
Everything was as advertised and we enjoyed the settings of our temporary home while enjoying the Winterfest along with exploring the surrounding area of Jim Thorpe. Glad to have had the chance of meeting Steve and Chris prior to departure. We highly recommend the accommodations. Thank you
My fiancée and I had a great weekend getaway at the Jim Thorpe Weekender! The cottage is adorable and comfortable. It had everything we needed. Steve and Chris, the owners, are very easy to work with and are very welcoming! Looking forward to staying again this summer.
We really enjoyed our stay as we do every year that we return. The owner was amazingly helpful and called us directly when we had a weather related issue. We would highly recommend any property owned by Stephen. Thanks again for your help!, Jeff and Stanley
We stayed for a week since 12/29/18-01/05/19. Very nice family apartment to stay. Well equipped with everything necessary for comfort. Quite central place for mountain ski lovers. Easy to rich nearest ski mountains resorts. Steve is great owner, positive and helpful. We will stay here again next time! Thank you, Steve! Happy New Year!
My husband and I both enjoyed our stay at the Weekender. It's rustic décor added to the charm of this place. Sofa and beds were both very comfortable and everything was clean and neat. We will definitely return!
This was our 2nd time in Jim Thorpe. If we come again we would definitely rent here! It is very comfortable with large sofas and nice round table in kitchen by window. The bed was perfect - firm with plenty of extra pillows. Kitchen was well stocked, and bathroom was a great size. This place is close to center of town. Everything looked clean and updated. We came to bike ride, for a few days, on the rail trail which this place was conveniently located to. We could have rode to trail head, however we decided to drive a few miles down to start biking each day. Beautiful fall foliage. Enough to do in town (went to museum and jail and walked around), but we also appreciated coming back to this rental to read and binge watch t.v.!! The perfect rental to go if you are looking to get away for a few days!
We enjoyed our getaway to this lovely apartment. Love Steve's beautiful art that decorates the apartment. Very comfy, cozy, and very, very clean. This property has all that you could want and more including a super friendly and helpful host. Local restaurants, shops and activities are great. Steve thanks so much for sharing your property with us. We will most definitely come again.
This was a great one bedroom that was very comfy & cozy. My husband & I went for a two night baby moon & this weekender was perfect. Very budget friendly (esp compared to the bed & breakfasts in town) & was only a 3-5 minute drive to the downtown. Highly recommend!
This was our 4th visit, love it, clean, nicely done easy access to local action, we will be back!
Perfect home away from home! Well equipped with everything you need. Not far of a drive or walk into the town of Jim Thorpe. Super clean and very comfortable furniture! Owners are very friendly and want the travelers to get the best out of the trip! We even got to meet Steve and his wife while we were there!
This cute little apartment was the perfect home for us during our stay in Jim Thorpe. Clean, comfortable, and just enough away from the busy downtown area. (It was a pleasure meeting Steve while we were there!) Will highly recomment this apartment to friends.
Nice to stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was tastefully furnished, super clean and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. We were a short few minutes drive into town. Wished we could have walked but I'm recovering from recent surgery. We were impressed by the areas recognition of veterans via street banners and other tributes. I highly recommend this welcoming apartment. You will not be disappointed!
I have nothing but positive feedback on this property. My initial thought of this property when I saw it online was WOW, but I was blown away even more when I actually saw it in person. I absolutely love the warm rustic feel of this home. It was well maintained and the kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans and all other utensils for preparing your meals. Also the closet was stocked with fresh linens and the bathroom had just about all the necessary essentials. The owner was very warm welcoming and answered every questions and concerns that I had.My husband and I was also fortunate to have met the owners who were more than happy to have given us a tour of the town. Overall I’d say this place is a great place to stay. Definitely returning in the fall.
This is a clean and well equipped apartment. It is set up in an organized manner. The bathroom is large and airy. The bedroom also has plenty of room and is very comfortable. Both the kitchen and the living room, likewise, are very easy to use. There are lovely antique touches throughout the Apt. I especially like the windows that surround the bedroom and bathroom at eight foot up: which is private, but sunny. The street seems quiet from the bedroom, much quieter than in downtown Jim Thorpe. This is a great place to stay.
Great location great property. We were fortunate to meet the owners and they were very helpful with information about the area and things to do. The apartment was great. Spacious immaculately clean and everything we needed to have a great time.
Hubby & I spent a long weekend in Jim Thorpe to celebrate my birthday and the Weekender was just right! Clean and comfy, with all the right amenities to make our stay feel like home! Super close to town and plenty of street parking. We look forward to staying again someday!
We totally enjoyed our stay at the Jim Thorpe Weekender! The property is very nice - very clean and well maintained. I loved the decor and the beautiful paintings (which I believe were created by the owner - absolutely gorgeous!). The apartment is located on a quiet street and is in my opinion the epitome of small town Pennsylvania living - it’s just adorable! We enjoyed an evening of snow tubing at Blue Mountain which was real close by and took a ride to Scranton to see Steamtown National Historic Site - both of which I would highly recommend if you visit during the winter months. We may be back again in the summer when all of the Jim Thorpe area attractions are open and will happily stay at this property again!
Home Was very clean ,warm ,cozy ready for us. Had a chance to me the owners Steve & his Wife, very welcoming, pleasant and friendly . They provided great info and informed us of what events and favorite spots were must to visit. Overall it’s everything we needed. No complaints we will re visit soon.
Loved it there! Met Steve and his wife and they informed us on all the different things that were going on in town! The home is beautiful! Very spacious and had everything my boyfriend and I needed. We ate at Union publick pub. Great food and drinks definitely recommend it! We also went to Marcello's Italian restaurant also really enjoyed there food! Definitely recommend going to the pastry table at the train station!. We will be coming back! Thank you Mr and Mrs.Allen.
Jim Thorpe is a great little town. This property is conveniently located to great restaurants and shopping. The Santa express train ride was fun and the snow added to the overall ambiance.
Cute place. Loved the decorative touches and fireplace. Would recommend to anyone!!
Stayed the last weekend of October and caught all of the beauty of fall on our 25-mile bike ride from White Haven back to Jim Thorpe but what I liked best was getting to park the truck and leave it there. The new pedestrian bridge was very convenient and with having bikes made it so nice to avoid the busy downtown parking problems and just come and go as we pleased. Owner Steve was thoughtful and asked if we would use the Gas log fireplace if he lit it being as it was getting colder at night. Would stay here again based on convenient location away from downtown but close enough to walk/bike to. It is a very well equipped place to enjoy the weekend would recommend to friends!
Perfect place ! Owner was great to deal with. Highly recommend.
Stayed a month and never got bored! So much to do and explore within walking and driving distance. Nice grocery store 4/10 of a mile away. Its for the locals so there was no price gouging for tourists. Everyone we met was very welcoming, including our host family! Must experience the Albright Room Speakeasy and have Conrad as your mixologist. The jail and Packer mansions were worth the small entrance fee. Pay the $3 for a self guided tour of the Harry Packer mansion and stay on the veranda for a drink and a view. Its vibe is like it isn't open to the public, but it is! Town is 6/10 of a mile walk, safe and easy.
We almost felt like we were in our own home. It was very comfortable and we could cook there if we didn't want to eat out. The grocery store was right down the hill and we had everything we needed for cooking and eating. I highly recommend this place to anyone who stays in the area!
This place was amazing! We went for a single overnight stay after rafting the river. Perfectly located walking distance from down town and from the more adventurous activities along the river. The owners stopped by and they were incredibly nice and generous to invite us to a party they were headed to. Iwould highly recomend this listing!
We enjoyed staying at the comfy little apartment. Located close to the grocery down over the hill and close to Jim Thorpe activities. Is within walking distance but it is across the bridge and down the hill so i recommend driving as you will walk around town. We enjoyed the back patio which was shaded. Would stay again if we ever went back.
This property was perfect for me and my two small kids! We spent a week here visiting friends and sight seeing. My kids were so comfortable they declared they did not want to leave! This location is perfect! Being on the quiet side of town saves you from what can be a parking and traffic headache downtown. The walk across the new bridge into town is easy and quick, affords great views of the mountains and the Gorge (and if you really want to drive over, the town lot is only $5 for the day). The cottage is exactly how it looks in the photos, and some of the lovely paintings were done by the owner! It was very easy to relax and kick back in between adventures, make breakfast and chill out. Sofas and sofa bed were comfortable as was the master bed. There is also a cute brick patio out back to enjoy! This would also be a great choice for a couples getaway as well. Thanks for a great stay! We will definitely be back!
The Jim Thorpe Weekender was exactly what we were hoping for during our stay. There is one bedroom with a comfortable bed and the sofa in the living room pulls out which is also comfortable. There were four of us staying and the space didn't feel cramped at all. The location was also great. About a 15 minute walk to downtown which has many shops, food, bars and the train station. There was also a tasty breakfast spot four blocks up the street at East Mauch Chunk Eatery where we ate Sunday morning. One side note since I couldn't find much information about this ahead of time. We were in town to see a concert at Penn's Peak and although we were able to use Uber to and from the venue, the available Uber drivers were very low. On our way to the show Uber had no drivers available for about a 20 minute period around 5pm. A couple people at Penn's Peak also said there is limited cab service in the area. If you are looking for a place to stay in Jim Thorpe I would highly recommend staying here!
Cute little apartment with everything we needed.
Our host was very helpful and offered his assistance for any questions we might have about his place and the Jim Thorpe area. Our apartment was very thoughtfully appointed. There was even food in the fridge and drinking water provided. It was very clean and comfortable and I sure wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks Steve !!
Comfort and a great location to town! We did the 15 mile bike ride and had a great dinner at Encore, the owner served us and was super friendly with the best meal in town.
We enjoyed this location and our stay. The only downside to this property was that there was no seating outside when weather was nice. It was cozy and relaxing and that's exactly what we were looking for. Thank You.
My wife and I thought the place was cozy, comfortable and clean. Accommodated our needs of having a mini home away from home. Central location to many activities in the area. The owner was very friendly and responsive to our needs and concerns. Will definitely recommend this place to others.
Just what we needed! Quiet location, very comfortable. Looking forward to staying again. Had a nice dinner at Union Public House too.
This is exactly what I was looking for. This was a surprise minicay for my boyfriends birthday. The place was cozy, comfortable and had everything we needed. It was a short walk to downtown and just as the owner described. I would definitely stay here again!
This place is perfect for a couple Loved the fireplace All the wood was beautiful Furniture was comfy Great nite sleep too
I was looking for a quick weekend getaway in the Poconos which was close to a town and a ski resort at the same time. I couldn't have picked a more perfect place since it was just across the river from downtown Jim Thorpe and only 25-30 min from Blue Mountain. The apartment was nice and cozy and well stocked! I wouldn't have mind just staying there all day cozied up with a warm blanket! I'm definitely coming back in the summertime!
The property was very nice and comfortable. The area was peaceful and a perfect distance from the main business district and attractions. We had a great time and would definitely stay there again.
Stephen was super accommodating and helpful! House was so cozy and had everything we needed- sheets, towels, and a lovely fireplace! Perfect for a small family of 3. Totally coming back again. And it's 12 miles to Blue Mtn.
Although we were initially surprised that we were not actually staying in the downtown area of Jim Thorpe, it was a blessing in disguise. Since we had some snow, we're certain the parking situation would have been a mess down town, and since this place was within walking distance from the grocery store, and also a very short (5 minute) drive to downtown Jim Thorpe, it was actually perfect for us. It was a cozy 1 bedroom place with good heating. (gas fireplace and units in each room kept us very warm. Kitchen had everything we needed as we ate breakfast and lunch in. Bed was comfortable. Pull-out was fine for the kids. We would recommend staying here if it's just two of you or a small family of 4 like ours. Steve was attentive to emails and phone calls about local services. Thanks for a nice stay!
The Jim Thorpe Weekender is the perfect size and location for a quick weekend getaway! Over the bridge from the downtown shopping area, it is in a great location to walk downtown when the weather is nice! The apartment is the perfect size for two people (but has a pull out sleeper sofa for more). Everything we needed was there - coffee pot, linens, towels, etc. The gas fireplace made the winter nights nice and toasty! Steve and his wife were very welcoming and great at communicating before and during our stay - answering questions and providing recommendations for places to eat, shop, and visit! We plan to stay here again the next time we are in the area! Thank you!
Clean nice cozy house affordable and nice location
Cute and clean comfortable little guest house.well stocked kitchen and the owner is very accommodating and nice to work with!!!
The property is nicely furnished with comfortable accomodations for exploring the Jim Thorpe area. We recently spent 3 nights Oct. 28th thru 30th. The rental is above and across the river from the historic Jim Thorpe district. While the walk is not difficult, it is about a 15 minute journey across the new 209 bridge down into town ... a desirable option during the busy weekend daytime hours. After 5 pm, driving is preferred as parking becomes more available and is then free of charge as well. Renting from Steve was a great experience. We were lucky to meet him during our stay ... a great person, friendly, and very helpful. He provides an abundance of information about the property prior to arrival and suggests things to do in the area. Additionally, he has numerous brochures and booklets in the apartment for additional points of interest and local history that were very interesting. The property itself is nicely updated, clean, and comfortable. Linens and bath towels were obviously freshly laundered. The base board heaters and gas fireplace provide ample heat, but take just a little adjustment in each room to regulate the temperature level properly. The kitchen has adequate utensils and table service to allow enjoying some meals at the apartment, and the local market just down the hill provides a good variety of groceries to quickly stock the refrigerator. The historic district, Lehigh Gorge Railway, Glen Onoko State Park, Mauch Chunk Opera House, and Packard House are all worth exploring as well as the biking/hiking experiences. The Union Publick House bar just a block away is also a fine stop for a drink and daily meal specials. We would definitely recommend this rental!
We loved our stay at the weekender! It was perfect for our stay. Clean comfortable and very affordable. Not far from all the attractions of Jim Thorpe, but also on a quiet street. We loved it!
The property is close to downtown and walkable in 15 minutes. The living room furniture is comfortable, the bed is very comfortable, making for good sleeping after a busy day of walking and sightseeing. The kitchen has a gorgeous gas stove and everything you would need. Overall, it is a perfect place for those looking for other than hotel experience. Hope to return!
Thank you so kindly for having me here. Steve Allen is a brilliant artist whom was so easy to talk to and his property was absolutely magickal to find peace and joy! I shall certainly be back!
Really enjoyed our stay. Conveniently located to Jim Thorpe downtown and close. Highly recommended. Nice kitchen but did not use. Would definitely stay here again.
We will rent the place again if ever we go back to Jim Thorpe. It was well-kept, nicely decorated, and a cozy weekender place to stay. The linens and towels were fresh smelling and clean. We had a small prob with the satellite and plumbing in the toilet but Steve, the owner took care of it immediately. And, he is a very nice guy!
This has become our secret getaway, we have stayed here twice and we will be back. Apartment is always clean and feels like home Steve and his family do a great job! Jim & Kathy M. Date of stay 9/22 - 9/24
My wife and I spent three nights in this apartment while on a road trip through Penn and NY. The apartment is very nice. It is ample size with a separate living area, a separate bedroom and a full kitchen. The bed is comfortable and we slept well. Furniture in the living area is large and comfy and the kitchen has a table and a snack bar where we ate breakfast each morning. The location is decent, up the hill from a grocery store and close to several restaurants. It is about a 15 minute walk to downtown Jim Thorpe. You need to cross the bridge and then walk along the main highway to get to downtown. There is a sidewalk/bike path the entire way so it is a safe walk. We were here in September so there was not a lot of activity going on. Location is quiet, clean and we felt very safe in the area. We went to Mauck Chuck Lake which is nice but almost no one on the beach while we were there. Walked along the LeHigh Gorge for a few miles. Hiked to the top of the waterfall at Glen Onoko Park which was somewhat strenuous but well worth the effort. And make sure you go to Hickory Run Park and see the boulder field. We were disappointed in downtown. There are several buildings there that are showing their wear and tear. This is such a nice, quaint historic village that if the city would invest some funds into improving properties, this could really be nice. Just my opinion. We ate at Molly MacGuires one night which was very good. Broadway Pub and Grill was a major disappointment. I had a T Bone steak and my wife had blackened haddock. Both meals were overly salty and my steak was a poor cut of meat. Definitely not worth the cost. Pizza at Gaetaners was also poor. The crust was soggy and chewy. We should have taken advantage of the kitchen in the apartment and dined in each night but how do you know? The food certainly was not a reflection on the apartment. We would definitely stay here again if we get back to this area.
We met the owner upon arrival, and he was very friendly. We were disappointed that the AC didn't cool down the apartment sufficiently...it was difficult to sleep because it was so warm. Constantly being warm and having difficulty sleeping put a damper on the trip. I like to stay in VRBOs because I can cook some meals at home. Unfortunately, I didn't do much cooking there because of the heat. There were very limited cooking supplies...two pots, no vegetable peeler, no cutting board, nothing to use to cook things in the oven, no sponge and only one piece of tin foil. The last issue was the lack of ventilation. The windows didn't open so the bathroom started to smell moldy with our bathing suits hanging up to dry. The location was fine and parking was easy. It was nice to see the owner's paintings on the wall. With some changes, it would be much more comfortable.
My husband, daughter and I went up for a weekend in August to go whitewater rafting on the Lehigh River. We stayed here and it was perfect. Steve could not have been nicer and was quick to respond to any questions I had. The apartment was great - clean and had all of the amenities we needed. Nicely decorated and a really comfortable bed. Plenty of extras like blankets, coffee and information on area attractions. I would highly recommend this to anyone coming in to the area. Thanks Steve!
We stayed at the 'Jim Thorpe Weekender' for 5 nights in early August and it was everything you'd expect and more. The apartment was clean and fully functional with all the amenities. All the furnishings were very comfortable with great decor. The location was fantastic! Everything you need was minutes away in 'downtown' but the apartment is on a very quiet residential side street. Steve was a fantastic host and communicated with us from booking through checkout. We got to meet him the night before our departure and I'm glad we did - great guy! I would highly recommend the apartment to anyone who asks. If you're hesitating - don't! Following are some nearby restaurants and sites we personally took in during our stay and our opinions of them: Molly Maguires Restaurant and Pub: Excellent food and drink with music some nights. Ate there twice. Publick House: (less than a block from the apartment) Excellent burger / local bar establishment. Ate there one night but had late evening drinks there several nights. Roadies at Penns Peak: Ate here one night. The atmosphere and deck were AMAZING. But honestly the food was mediocre at best - we were both a bit disappointed with the food. But, we would highly recommend it as a great spot to watch the sun go down and listen to music. Sapore: In the neighboring town of Lehighton - ate here one night and were very impressed! Great little mom and pop Italian restaurant. Food was outstanding and the atmosphere was very relaxing. Highly recommend. Bear Appetite Cafe - had lunch here one afternoon. Good food in a nice little sandwich shop! Alices Pantry: Stopped here for ice cream one afternoon. Great selection and really good ice cream. Don't miss it. Lehigh Gorge Train - take the ride - well worth it! Old Jail Museum - great spot - worth the 30 minutes of your time for the tour! There are many other great options nearby we'll try next time we're in the area. Without a doubt we'd reserve the Weekender again! Had a great visit - thanks Steve!
The property was clean, neat in appearance and it had a homey feel providing all the necessary things to have an enjoyable time while on vacation.
We parked our cars when we got there and enjoyed walking into town. The location made it convenient to get in a morning walk and breakfast then return for a quick rest before heading to the local museums. The apartment is comfortable to relax in and enjoy spending time together.
This property was great! It seemed like it was newly renovated and it was in a pretty decent location. The property appeared to be an old store front renovated to an apartment which I personally thought was pretty neat. We were able to walk to every major attraction in Jim Thorpe, there is a decent breakfast diner just down the road, and even the grocery store was within walking distance! Even though the property only has on street parking, finding a parking space right in front of the apartment was never a problem. Even after 6 pm there was always a spot in front of the property. The property owner was very accommodating and quick to return calls, emails, etc. Overall my experience was extremely positive and I would definitely stay here again!
I very much enjoyed my stay in your lovely home. The atmosphere here is so warm & cozy felt like being at home. I really appreciated the little things like the coffee and creamer. Tuesday morning I didn’t want to leave, I was ready to call you and my employer asking for one more day. All the art work was beautiful especially the picture of the tree hanging on the side wall. The house was very convenient to the city and other attractions in the area. I look forward to a return visit with my daughter before she return to college. Thank you again for having me in you lovely home
My boyfriend and I stayed for two nights at the Jim Thorpe Weekender and really enjoyed our stay. The apartment is clean, well-stocked, nicely decorated and very comfortable. There is a great yoga studio only a few blocks away which we walked to to take a class. It is also quite close to downtown Jim Thorpe where we took a nice bike ride along the river trail. It was a perfect, affordable place for a weekend getaway. When the weather turned stormy, it was easy to switch gears to indoor activities (cooking, watching movies). Highly recommended!
Our stay at The Weekender was awesome!!!! Apartment is comfy with lots of rustic decor...Love, Love the decor :). There was so much to do in Jim Thorpe. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely be back as well as recommend :) Thank you :)
The apartment was clean and had all the amenities you could want. It is in a great area-within walking distance of all the action. It was a pleasure to meet Steve and Chris and we would highly recommend their apartment to anyone wishing to visit Jim Thorpe.
I found a winner with this choice! Everything is just as it appears in photos, warm and cozy for the blustery weather we had. Close enough to town to walk even if you've already put your miles in for the day. Will only book here for future stays in Jim Thorpe!
The property met our expectations and was as described. It was great having a full kitchen and large living room. It was just a short drive to the center of Jim Thorpe.
It was a very nice place. I stayed there with my boyfriend and he's six foot seven so he really needed a comfortable place to sit and lay down and it was very clean it was very nice they have coffee there and there's a little small Market down the street that you can go to to buy groceries. Next door was actually so much more authentic and beautiful and I love it. You had cable you had heat you had a nice fireplace you had a shower and a very comfortable place to sleep you have Fresh Linen you have fresh towels blankets you could sit outside and drink your coffee. You almost felt like it was already your home. I'm definitely going to come back with my children and I think they would really enjoy it.
The apartment is very much like it appears in the photos. Very nice. It had everything we needed except washcloths. It said towels were included so I did not bring any, but there were no washcloths. It has a full kitchen, we liked to cook breakfast there in the morning and eat out in the evening. Overall a cozy place to spend the weekend!
The Jim Thorpe weekender was the perfect place for us. It's very comfortable and inviting, and a perfect place to relax and hang out. We found everything we wanted including a well equipped kitchen, comfortable living room with large couches, and a cozy and inviting bedroom that is full of light. It's very close to the action on Broadway, yet it sits on a quiet street. Steven is a great host, who went out of his way to make sure that all our needs are taken care of. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
Apartment was lovely! The place was cozy, clean and exactly as depicted. Definitely what we were looking for in our stay.
My husband and I stayed at the Jim Thorpe Weekender for two-nights, three days in February, and what a great place it was!! The owner, Steve, thinks of everything: fully stocked kitchen; well stocked bathroom; nice, high quality bed comforter and linens; wonderful Turkish bath towels; and beautiful furnishings and lighting. It's even prettier than the pictures on the website! And Steve happens to be an artist! His art is on the walls, adding a very personal touch! The Weekender is very clean and very private. But Steve was always very accessible via cell phone/email if we had any questions or needed information. And it was very convenient to town! The weather was cold so we drove across the bridge into downtown Jim Thorpe, but in nice weather I'm sure it would be an easy 10-minute walk. And if you don't want to drive anywhere, there's a local bar and a small café (breakfast & lunch) just up the street from the Weekender. While we were there we hiked the Glen Onoko Falls, which was only a 10-minute ride from the house and absolutely beautiful! It's a tough hike, scrambling and climbing over rocks in some places, but well worth it!! Just one waterfall after another! We had a great time and hope to return to the Weekender and Jim Thorpe in the spring! Thank you Steve for sharing your home!
My husband and myself stayed for 2 nights and were completely Blown away from the time we walked in. Perfect adorable curb appeal, close to such a great little town, everything in the house is updated and beautiful but still gives you that rustic cabin feel. Steven was so helpful, & organized and accommodating. We will definitely be returning! Highly highly recommend!!
My boyfriend and I stayed here over New Years weekend and we loved this cute 1 bedroom apartment. It was a great size, it was cozy but also had plenty of space for two people. The fireplace in the living room was a really nice feature and we had a very comfortable and relaxing weekend. We didn't get to ski when we were out there because it didn't snow, but we hiked the Glen Onoka Falls trail which was excellent! Steve was great and came over to see us at the beginning of our stay. He also gave us some ideas of things to do other than skiing and was available in case we had any questions. The town of Jim Thorpe is small but cute. Most of the stores were closed, I think because of the holiday weekend so it was very quiet while we were there. Our favorite restaurant was Moya on Race Street in the town. Overall a nice apartment for a getaway!
The apartment was very nice. The fireplace was perfect, it heat up the area quickly! The house was right across the bridge into town, convenient grocery store around the corner, perfect location to everything. Would love to visit again in the spring to do some hiking and bike rides!
My best friend and I leave our families at home and meet once a year for a weekend of fun and catching up with each other. We chose Jim Thorpe, PA this year and we lucked into an amazing vrbo rental. The pictures for our cute little apartment do not do it justice. It is a fully remodeled space that was once a book store. The owners have managed to fully update the apartment without losing any of its charm. It is clean, warm and cozy. And I mean that literally - it was so warm on a night that the temperatures dropped below freezing. I always worry when I rent an apartment if there will be adequate heat and warm water in the shower - no problems here! All of the basics are here - plenty of towels, sheets, blankets, sugar, salt & pepper, dishes and utensils, including a cork screw and can opener. It was an easy 10 minute downhill walk across the bridge to town. It is steep coming back, so I wouldn't suggest walking if it icy or raining. We would stay here again and recommend it highly.
Recently spent our anniversary weekend and this place was awesome. Very comfortable and the gas fireplace heat the entire living room and kitchen. All the comforts of home plus walking distance to downtown. Recommend switching fridge doors to opposite side so more convenient to kitchen area. Wifi was great and that couch and lounge chair were the perfect end to many miles of biking.
Loved the look and smell (wood!) of this place. Seems to be recently remodeled, with quality materials and finishes all around. Spotless, with everything you could possibly want for a comfortable stay, including great Wi-Fi. (Speaking of comfortable, I could live on that couch!) Very tastefully yet simply decorated, with many charming, whimsical details. My one quibble is that the bed is described as queen, and while the heavy frame is generously sized, the actual mattress felt like a full. It was pretty tight for my partner and me, and since the deciding factor between this apt and a competitor was the supposed queen bed, this was disappointing. It's also a bit of a trek into town--no problem during the day, but walking along 209 at night is no fun, so we wound up driving in after the first night, even though being able to walk to dinner had been a priority for us. Plenty of on-street parking, quiet neighborhood, good breakfast place nearby, responsive owner who provided lots of helpful information. Perfect amount of space and amenities for a couple.
Very clean and comfortable with easy walking to most all locations in Jim Thorpe. Owner provides good info for area and is available if one needs more assistance.
Very clean place. Owners were very accommodating. Would highly recommend.
Comfortable apartment with European feel. Walking distance to town. Close to other activities. Would stay there again.
Wonderfully clean apartment just a short walk from town. Loved the amenities and the satellite TV. Owner is extremely helpful.
My husband and I really enjoyed the short walk into town and all the activities- train, bike rental, packer mansion and jail As well as the market down the hill. We stayed for 3 nights and the apartment was just right for us - very nicely furnished. We made it just in time for the last train ride up the gorge on Sunday. We also cycled 25 miles down the gorge from white haven in 3 hours! What a fun trip!
That was a great place. Clean, nice, and well-located. If I'm in Jim Thorpe again, I'll be there!
Steve was wonderfully accommodating to our last minute schedule. This is a clean and comfortable place conveniently located to many attractions. Steve responds quickly and always follows up to make sure our stay was okay. This was a repeat for us and we will recommend for future use.
So much nicer than expected. Very clean with beautiful decor Easy correspondence from owner and wonderful niehbors who helped me out with car repair. Definitely will return
This was the perfect weekend getaway for me and my two kids. We went for the local hiking but enjoyed hanging out at home just as much. It was a comfortable and clean space. The boys loved the fireplace. It was farther from downtown than I had imagined, but was still walkable. We'd love to return when the hiking trails aren't still snow covered. And as other reviewers have said, Steve was very helpful and easy to work with during the whole process!
My husband and I spent a weekend here w/out our kids and had a great relaxing time. We've stayed in Jim Thorpe 2x before and this was by far the nicest place we've rented. Steve and his wife stopped by to make sure everything was working and recommended things to do. We hiked at the Mauch Chunk lake and shopped on Saturday at some of the cute shops in town. Definitely recommend this place to anyone. Grocery store within walking distance and we even cooked in one night. Only thing in the kitchen that I would add is a sharp chopping knife and a sauce pan or small lidded pot. Thanks for a great stay!
Thank you for a great relaxing weekend... Place is beautiful, neighbors are friendly and helpful... A very charming town....
Had a wonderful night in Jim Thorpe! We were able to drop our bags at the house and then continue on to JFBB for a great afternoon of skiing! And the town of Jim Thorpe was truly adorable, it was great to have some time in the morning to grab breakfast and explore! Steve made the whole process very simple and even gave us recommendations for things to do in the area. Thanks again!!
Stayed here vs. hotel & no regrets, just a lot of praise!! Beautifully furnished, info on local sites provided, nice grocery store within short walking distance, snow shoveled on walkway during entire stay, accommodating owners eager to please.
The owner Steve is very caring and very attentive with every detail... I had the best time staying there and will be sure to go back and stay again. The apartment is very cozy and has all the amenities of home. If you are looking for a reasonable place to stay and still have all the comforts of home this is the place for you... Thank you Steve from the bottom of my heart Aubrey
Booked this rental for quick anniversary getaway, and was very pleasantly surprised! Cozy, immaculate, and equipped with everything you would need. Owner replied quickly to any questions / concerns we had. Close proximity to practically all warm and cold weather activities.
Charming apartment, beautiful and cozy interior. It felt just like home. The apartment was clean and in order, and was a perfect environment to unwind after a long day of skiing. Everything you could possibly want was within walking distance and Jim Thorpe, being the quaint town it is, had tons of little shops and places to eat. Perfect for skiing/snowboarding as Blue Mountain is nearby. Overall extremely satisfied with the apartment as a whole. Will defiantly stay again if in the area and I will certainly recommend this properity to family and friends.
The rental was true to form and exactly as represented in the pictures. Apartment is well decorated and perfect for a weekend stay. The fireplace was definitely a cozy highlight. The owner (Steve) resides in the attached house and greeted us warmly with suggestions on places to eat and see while we were in Jim Thorpe. There were also pamphlets with local eats and sites available in the rental. In the winter, definitely ski Blue Mountain and set aside time to hike some of the local trails, and appreciate the fireplace. I highly recommend this rental.
This clean, beautifully restored apartment was so cozy and felt like home. It is centrally located to all that Jim Thorpe has to offer. We met the owner on Friday and he was very helpful throughout the entire process. We will definitely be back.
