One of 2 apartments that roost above a 1902 home in the heart of the historic Boulevard neighborhood.
One bedroom with queen size bed and TV/living room with futon that folds down to fit 2 adults. Full, urban kitchen opens to the living room. Cable TV and Wifi provided. Free curbside parking on wide street. Private, covered stairwell entrance.
Sidewalks line the neighborhood creating an easy walk to Downtown, Bottleworks on Prince Avenue, Normaltown, and Sanford Stadium.
My family and I live below the apartment. We assume you'd like your privacy, but we are also very happy to help with advice and directions.
Some of the bounty that awaits you by easy walk or very short ride: Thousand Faces coffee and Jittery Joe's Roasters, White Tiger BBQ and Heirloom cafe, Normaltown (featuring Automatic Pizza, Agua Linda, Normal Bar, Hi-Lo, Old Pal, Ike and Jane's cafe, and Marti's at Midday) and Bottleworks on Prince (featuring SeaBear Oyster Bar, Taqueria Del Sol, Hendershot's Coffee & Bar, Siri Thai, and Viva Argentine Cuisine). And, of course, easy travel by foot or bus to downtown and Sanford Stadium.
In addition to the wonderful eateries, yoga studios, coffeehouses and nightlife, the apartment is surrounded by beautiful historic homes worthy of a stroll. Several parks and playgrounds are also nearby.
My family and I live below the apartment and it is a family neighborhood, so please be mindful of noise after midnight.
I don't normally consider charming when booking a room, but I will going forward as this apartment has established a new, valued criteria for me. Beyond the property, the host is quite helpful and knows a lot about the area. I'll be back!
Jason and Melisa have a wonderful comfortable place. Just as listed and pictured. They are available but never bother you. Will def stay here again.
This property is close to downtown but out of all the noise and traffic. Great stay.
It was clean and well kept. We would stay there again if we traveled to Athens.
It was perfect for our weekend stay.
Such a cute, quaint apartment. Jason, our host, was very friendly and attentive. The apartment was stocked with all the necessary items for a night away from the house. It was a safe area and quiet street. Close to downtown.
Great little place to stay in Athens. Clean and comfortable! Excellent hosts!
Our place was just the right size and nice to get away from the noise of Athens when we needed to recharge before our next event!
It was great. Very close to bike trails, good walking, good beer and good restaurants.
The apartment is in a great location for its ease of walking downtown and into Normaltown. We enjoyed our time there.
Great location and nice and quiet. No complaints. The host put some nice treats out when I arrived. It was a welcomed added touch.
Always our first choice to stay when we are in Athens.
This apartment is perfect for one or two people. It's location is excellent in that you are not far at all from where all the action is. Walking on the Nature trails at the Nature Center & on the different trails at the Athens Botanical Gardens was absolutely wonderful! And Jason could not have been more accommodating; I would highly recommend staying here!
Great property in a nice neighborhood.
We had a great experience. Place was clean, check in was clear and easy, and hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend for an Athens visit-close proximity to campus and downtown.
Place is clean and very conveniently located.
Another fun game weekend ! We strolled down Boulevard to Heorloom Cafe’ for breakfast , walked to Sanford Stadium for football Game , and walked to Seabear Restaurant for delicious seafood . The apartment is vintage with 2 rooms to enjoy. The fresh flowers in the apartment beer and snacks were a welcome addition. Thanks Jason and Meisha for your hospitality.
I recently stayed at the Cardinals Roost for a week while attending a conference at Georgia Center. Jason and Misha were very considerate hosts and made sure that I had everything I needed for the week, including snacks of my choice when I arrived. The apartment was the perfect size and very comfortable. The apartment is in the Historic Boulevard District and is within walking distance of several restaurants and shops. Downtown Athens is about 5 minutes away by car or 20 minutes on foot if you like to walk through great neighborhoods with beautiful old homes. I'd highly recommend staying here!
This great little efficiency apartment was exactly the right fit for an Athens weekend! The owners were very friendly and responsive -- we even got homemade cookies and snacks on our arrival! The apartment was very clean and comfortable with easy on-street parking. The neighborhood location gives easy access to the UGA campus and downtown Athens. Would definitely stay here again!
This was a great location and had everything needed for a perch while passing through on business.
This apartment is in a convenient location in a beautiful historic neighborhood. We found everything very clean and comfortable, with plenty of space to spreadout. The owner provided all the essentials and a few snacks. We would certainly stay here again.
Jason was incredibly accommodating.
Creature comforts: The apartment was immaculate. Good quality bedding and towels; several pillows with different degrees of firmness. The mattress in the bedroom was perfect for my less-than-perfect back. Quiet heating/air unit for great climate control. Tissues/toilet paper/paper towels were soft and high quality - no dollar store thin stuff. Quiet at night. Basic kitchen utensils, coffee, sugar, fresh 1/2 and 1/2. Spacious closet and drawer storage. With a futon and a foldout couch in the living room this was great for my two teenagers and me. As there's no door between l.r. and bedroom I wouldn't suggest this apt for two couples, but one couple and some kids would be comfortable. Full bar of soap & shampoo provided. Host: Jason was very friendly and altogether professional. Communication was always easy and prompt. He met us with a smile as we drove up, and took time to show us the amenities; he even set up the futon for us. He's a family man and it shows. He asked what snacks we would like and provided fresh fruit as I'd requested. Location: Lovely, safe street with beautiful early 1900's houses. Easy parking. 5 min drive to downtown; 5 minute walk to Heirloom Cafe - this was a bit pricey but the food was great and all staff were warm and welcoming. Appearance: So so cozy! Surprising, quirky paint colors; furniture from nearly every decade of the 1900's. We felt at home immediately. Overall this was a fantastic place to stay. The instruction manual in the apt says Jason and his family are new at renting their home - I've stayed in many VRBO properties in the States, England and France and I think they are doing this like pros.
This neighborhood is the perfect location in Athens for a quiet stay within charming walking distance to great restaurants, a book store, coffee shop, co-op grocery and more. The architecture and the different quirks of residents in the historic district in and around Boulevard captivated our attention as we walked leisurely to breakfast at Big City Bread. The hosts share great tips about the neighborhood and restaurants, even the streets that are most charming- though any meandering proves to be so! They have this apartment set up efficiently with just the right amount of comfort. The stove is gas, so it’s fun to cook on. They had Creature Comfort beer waiting on us!, nice teas and coffee ready to brew, a kettle, and let us feel free to enjoy it on the porch. Jason and family were so kind and considerate of us being guests. Even though they live there, we felt they were giving us the space we needed and the apartment is set aside and upstairs in a way that is totally separate and not invasive. Plenty of parking on the wide street. Plenty of pillows, towels, etc. We had beds enough for 3 kids and 2 parents. We highly recommend this easy and inexpensively charming way to get to know Athens!
