The property was perfect size for our family of 3. The location was excellent, in walking distance to coffee, food, family and friends. Thank you for hosting us and for the 2 local beverages in the refrigerator. Cheers!
Joel and Rebecca’s Place is exactly as described in the listing. Very clean. The kitchen is well equipped to cook for yourself, if desired. Close enough to walk to Ballard for shopping and restaurants. You do hear the trains, but then we knew that before we came. They didn’t bother us. Rebecca was helpful and friendly. This is our fourth time staying in Ballard and we’d definitely come and stay again at Joel and Rebecca’s. Thanks for a great stay in Ballard!
We had a lovely stay in this walkout apartment. The onsite parking spot was great, we also had the options to explore Ballard by walking and Lime bikes. The location of the apartment was perfect for us! We enjoyed burgers at Red Mill Totem House and breakfast at Salt and Sugar Bakery. Definitely check out the waterfront and Golden Gardens park. Can't recommend this lovely spot enough!
This property was amazing! We stayed for a short weekend to celebrate our anniversary and this little apartment was perfect. Everything was very clean and accessible. Other reviewers hVe complained about the trains and the homeowners walking around upstairs, but neither bothered us. This property is so close to all the walkable parts of Ballard, so we were able to really enjoy the food and night life of the area. We will definitely stay here again next time we come out to Seattle.
This is a nice place to stay when in Seattle. Conveniently located in the Ballard district... and not too far from Pikes Place! The streets in the general neighborhoods of this location are lined with cars.... so it is very convenient that this location comes with it's own parking spot!
We loved this charming place. The owners paid such attention to details. We enjoyed walking into Ballard and being able to walk to our son's home, also in Ballard. We would stay there again. We actually likes the sound of the trains going by.
We loved this charming place. The owners have done a wonderful job with all of the details of this place. We enjoyed walking into Ballard (went to two movies) and walking to our son's house, also in Ballard. We actually enjoyed hearing the trains go by! we would stay there again.
Close to everything. Quiet. Loved it
We really enjoyed our stay. The property was super clean and exactly as described. It's a very private setting looking out onto an orchard complete with bunnies and squirrels. There is a book including many restaurant recommendations which we really appreciated. You can tell that the owners have appointed this rental very thoughtfully, you'll have everything you need.
Thanks for the stay! Really enjoyed it!
Nice, clean, very responsive management. Was great for me and my toddler. Train didn’t bother us at all.
We were thrilled with everything about this charming spot. The apartment is well done, with soft sheets, a functional kitchenette, and many extra thoughtful touches. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio to read to have coffee. The trains are frequent but we had fair warning, and they supply earplugs and a sound machine. It wasn’t a bother to us at all! The location is convenient and we felt so welcomed. We had a truly wonderful stay here!
We rented this place primarily because of its location several blocks away from where our son lives. It looked good online and it turns out that it was just as nice in person. It's very cute, very clean, well-cared for and up to date in terms of amenities and furnishings. We enjoyed the private front porch area in the mornings and evenings. The location in Ballard is awesome and we were able to walk everywhere from there easily. The owners are very nice and easy to work with and we felt right at home. We will definitely come back here!
This hideaway next to an apple orchard is a great place for 1-2 people to savor sanity after a day of working in or exploring Seattle. It has everything you need and is easy walking distance to the water, restaurants, movies, bus lines.
Super cute home with all the amenities one could possibly need; the owners are extremely thoughtful with everything they supply the house with, including their home-roasted coffee beans! Very clean home in a safe, quiet neighborhood. Nice walk to great restaurants and the locks. Owners are quick to reply with any questions, and very pleasant to communicate with. I would definitely stay again--went above and beyond my expectations for a VRBO rental!
We didn't spend as much time relaxing as we had planned, so we weren't at the rental very much. The little time we did spend was very nice.
Everything was as advertised. Very comfortable and clean. Neighborhood very quiet. Fortunately a parking space is provided as the streets are narrow and parking limited but you can walk to a lot of places. The train noise we were warned about was muffled and hardly noticeable. We’ll stay again!
We were.within walking distance of the Ballard Locks, Nordic Museum and several great spots to eat. Close to our family and easily accessible. Loved the cozy style and convenience of the cottage.
Clean, Comfortable & quick responses to questions. Make for a fun and worry free getaway!
Beautiful and private apartment. What you see is what you get. Very clean and everything at your fingertips. Enjoy and hope to be back. Thanks
Adorable little cottage tucked in a great area with walking ability to both the charming Ballard downtown or to the water (ask about the secret beach access next to Ray’s Cafe) for perfect sunsets! Everything inside is new and updated...overall just a great space to come back to after a long day of sightseeing. The outdoor area was definitely a bonus that we used every day. We would definitely stay here again!!
Nice space, but it is always cold inside and we never saw nor spoke to the owner who lives upstairs, but we did hear them...a lot! The rate was good but the fees and taxes made it more than a hotel would have been.
Such a great place! Everything we needed was provided. It’s a 15 minute walk to downtown Ballard. The cottage was clean and nicely decorated. We also slept well. Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us!
Wonderful little cottage. Close and convenient to Downtown Seattle and loved the atmosphere of Ballard
Needed bed to sleep in area near grandchildren and family. This fit those needs. It was neat, clean and if I wanted to cook , I could have! As an older person, backing out of parking space which was vary narrow but well marked was a struggle for me. Parking is always a problem in the Seattle area.
The place was certainly clean and in a great location. However, the noise from above & the train were bothersome. We had a nap in the late afternoon one day and between vacuuming (or something from upstairs) & the train, it was hard to rest. Another big downside was that the bed was VERY hard and uncomfortable. It was certainly not the worst experience, but we would not stay there again.
We loved our stay in this cozy Ballard VRBO. Very much as advertised. There is train noise but we did not find it bothersome. The lower level apartment is sparkling clean and very comfortable. Super convenient to the amenities of Ballard and a quick walk down to the locks.
The place was very clean and very comfortable. I love to stay in Ballard whenever I visit Seattle. Everything you could need is in this unit. I hope it is available when I visit next.
Very private fenced patio outside the french doors. The train that passes by is quiet, a reminder of being outside the city. Loved it! Walking distance to many restaurants, gardens, the levy and don't miss the Nordic Museum. We highly recommend this little jewel in Ballard for your stay!
This stay was a great value. Private and perfect location.
We love this apartment, and we've stayed here several times. It's close to everything - walking distance to stores, restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and the Locks in Ballard. For us, very close to family as well, so it's a special place for us when we visit Seattle. The owners are awesome and provide an off-street parking spot which is a welcome amenity. Highly recommend.
Loved the location and easy walk to old Ballard and bars, restaurants, coffee, and shopping. One block from historic Ballard Locks. Basement apartment has everything you need and great WiFi and parking. We loved hearing the trains which are not frequent and add to the charm. If you are exploring Seattle it’s a quick drive to the city over the Ballard Bridge or quick bus to Fremont or the U District. We will definitely be back!
We loved this sweet little bungalow unit in Ballard. The unit is a sunny walkout basement with a great outdoor private patio. Since we stayed 3 weeks, we really wanted a unit that was comfortable, clean, and we'll furnished. This met all our needs. Rebecca and Joel were always helpful with questions, and made the washer & dryer available for our use. Although it is close to the railroad tracks, it never woke us during the night. With the owners upstairs, it was never noisy. Hopefully, we will return!
This place was a wonderful find!! Clean, cute and close to everything we needed. The owners left us a beer in the refrigerator and a note inviting us to a BBQ they were having the next day. Worth the stay! We would go back and stay here again. Locals were very nice and informative about the area. We were even lucky enouph to see the Northwestern and the crew.
If I could put the cute tiny apartment in my pocket or suitcase and take it home to live in it I would. It’s immaculate, clean, just perfection. If every location I stayed in was like this it would be perfect! Better than any hotel we could’ve stayed. We loved the small touches like the coffee! Saved me from murdering my kids and husband in the morning or finding them a new mom. Great place.
We stayed 3 nights and were very pleased. The design of the recently remodeled unit is nice. The bed was comfortable and pretty much everything was great. Some thoughts: Location: Ballard is a bit out there, it's not terribly far from Queen Anne, University district, or downtown (about 15 minutes), but it does take a little effort to get there. We had long Lyft rides to Bellevue. However, if you were going to get this quality of a place, you’d pay a lot more to be in central downtown, no doubt. So other than being patient to get there, what it does have going for it is that it's not a touristy area, it's a neighborhood. There are a ton of great places to eat within a half mile to the east. If you like touristy, stay elsewhere. Train noise: didn’t even notice it. Sure, it rumbles through and I guess sensitive people might mind it, but I hardly noticed it when not sleeping. I’m an earplug wearer while sleeping anyway, it didn’t wake me up even once (same for wife and child). Not a big deal to us. Other stuff: it was close to Ballard Locks, a nice diversion. We didn’t have a chance to kayak, but I hear that’s fun. We recommend Full Tilt Ice Cream. Also, we saw a movie at the cool Majestic Bay Theater, reportedly the oldest running theater in the US. Great spot, highly recommended. Not too much time to do other things nearby, unfortunately. There are at least 5 or 6 breweries within a mile or two, as well. Owners: I met Joel, very nice guy and accommodating. I wish I had more time to chat, I’m sure we would have shared a beer. Overall, we recommend this place.
Clean and nice property, some train noises at night.
Property was extremely well thought out, was an easy and pleasant walk to the Locks and the Ballard downtown. Blocks away from the bus to Seattle downtown. We were two adults with two infants, sometimes with two additional adults, and the space worked wonderfully. Owners were wonderful. Highly recommended.
I'm ready to move in! The owners went the extra mile in this unit. They thought about everything you may need. The patio is lovely, private and comfortable. No view from the patio, but it didn't matter. The train did not bother me at all. I highly recommend this unit! I called Uber from the street so it was easier for them to find me and had no problem. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Enjoy!
very comfortable. lovely furnishings. very nice feel. will come again if we are to go back.
The place was nicely decorated and clean. A little noise from the upstairs owners (old house, floors creak). The train tracks are VERY close. Not a bother for us but others may be more sensitive. We did notice that being a basement apartment, the floors are not completely level. Not a criticism, just an observation. The heat-pump worked well and the keyless entry was an effective way to deal with access. (I did not know that the lock automatically re-locks after a few minutes. Luckily I was inside and had memorized the code or we could have been locked out while we brought in our luggage). Overall we were very happy with our stay and felt the cost of this VRBO was reasonable for it’s location and amenities.
Train noise went away during our sleep time. Thank you.
The setup is great. Hosts have gone the extra mile to create a cozy and simple apartment. Show up with groceries because you'll want to hang around and enjoy the patio and private little chill zone.
What a charming space! It was a bit cozy for the 4 of us, but totally adequate. Loved the thoughtful details like a map with fun things highlighted, restaurant recs, and even fresh roasted coffee beans (though I wish we'd had enough for both mornings, lol!). I felt a bit stressed out hearing the homeowners walking around upstairs, because my sister's baby was fussy during the night and I worried that we woke them. Note that this location is a bit tricky to navigate to and from, especially when requesting Uber/Lyft. We just walked to the end of the alley and set the pin at the street there. Also, while there is definitely a bit of train noise, it is infrequent and didn't bother us at all. It is very new and cute, great bargain!
Super cute space and it had everything we needed! The only small cons were the proximity to the train and the shower wasn't quite as hot as I wanted and the bed wasn't quite as comfy as I wanted, but everything else was great. Very conveniently located!
