Property was perfect for the group in terms of bedrooms, play areas and dining space. Kids loved the hot tub.
Our family had a wonderful time staying at the Jackson House. It was beautiful and well stocked with everything a family would need. The beds were extremely comfortable and all the linens were top notch. Scott, the owner, was very easy to contact. We are hoping to rent it again next year.
We loved our stay at the Jackson House with our kids and grandkids. There is room for everyone. Ideal location away from the traffic of North Conway. Lots of rooms and bathrooms and the best kitchen, extremely well stocked to easily serve a group of 14. Really enjoyed the AC and the hot tub after hiking. Scott was helpful with recommendations for where to use our kayaks. For hikes with kids: Square Ledge, Black Cap and Rocky Gorge, all nearby. Jackson Falls, 1 mile away was fun, too.
Great location. Plenty to do in the area. Loved the house.
Great house. We had 8 adults, 5 kids and 4 days of rain! The house was plenty big and everyone had a place to hide when we got on each other’s nerves. Lots of games in the house and a great lounge, pool table, plenty of TVs and a really nice bar area. Lots of beds and bathrooms too! Thanks again for your hospitality.
My family plus 5 other families for a total of 12 kids and 10 adults stayed for a long weekend. We had a great time. Plenty of space for all of us. Clean, quiet, and excellent spot for alpine or Nordic skiing. Small sledding hill that is great for pre-school ages.
House was well suited to our group, couple of families with little children and grandparents. Bedrooms with bathrooms was great, layout of first floor allowed for quiet talk areas, and areas of play. Kitchen is well laid out for a crowd open to the large sunny dining room with long table. Loved the outdoor space as well!
We rented the entire home for our family. My husband and me (mid 70's), two adult daughters and a son in law and two grand children ages 5 and 8. Everyone loved that we had so much room. The two living rooms allowed adults to read while others played with the kids. We did puzzles in the former bar area. The kitchen had everything we need. It is challenging to keep the first floor warm but the second floor bedrooms were very warm and had individual adjustments. Everything was clean and it is less than one mile to the center of Jackson. Perfect.
This property is very beautiful and has a lot of charm. The kitchen is amazing, the rooms are all cozy and there’s enough bathrooms for all! We had some issued when we were there and it look a little time to get in touch with the property manager. Likewise since it is not someone’s house it lacked tin foil, plastic wrap or any way to package leftovers as well as coffee pot filters, which are things often found in a rental property… especially one with a kitchen made for cooking like this one! Overall we really enjoyed our stay and we would definitely stay again!
We had 6 couples. Everyone had their own bedroom, lots of space to socialize.
Plenty of room for every one in our group. We loved all the sitting areas and the large table we could all eat together at.
We utilized the rental for a gathering for a fantasy football draft (really serious stuff)! The place was great, clean, plenty of rooms. Scott was accommodating and great to work with. Would highly recommend.
This property is lovely, the communication was great and the location was perfect for summer fun. Thanks for a great week!
After receiving the rules, regulations and strict expectations for this property several times prior to our arrival, we were confused to find the state of the rental to be unacceptable. Just to name a few issues: A Bedroom/bathroom was not cleaned from the previous rental. My wife and I cleaned the linens and bathroom so our friends had somewhere to sleep. A tick was found crawling in a bed in another room. Several toe nail clippings were found on the arm of the couch. The burner under the griddle on the stove was flickering in and out when we tried to use it (seems like a safety issue). All of the lights in the kitchen were not functional when we arrived and we had to find and reset the breaker. The pool table is essentially useless because it sits on such a slant. All of these issues could have been somewhat alleviated if the homeowner had responded to us quickly. We called and emailed him and didn't receive a response for two days. At that point he told us his cleaner was on vacation and they hadn't found someone else to clean the property, which in turn told us the entire home hadn't been cleaned not just the single bed/bathroom. He told us he would refund our cleaning fee and asked if we wanted a cleaner to come to the property which was useless at that point because most of our friends had left and we had already cleaned the home ourselves. Communication was severely lacking after we arrived. We still haven't received a credit for the cleaning fee or a follow up message regarding our stay. We had to contact VRBO directly in hopes they could get ahold of the homeowner to straighten this issue out, but we still have yet to hear anything. There are very strict and clear expectations in regards to noise/partying for those who choose to rent here which were extremely redundant. We are a respectful group and felt uncomfortable/worried to even have a fire outside at night. We understand the area is strict about rentals but we found it difficult to relax during our stay for all the reasons listed above. The location is good and there is a fair amount of space for a large group.
We traveled with our six children, five of which are grown and two with young families (5 children under 3). The home was spacious enough for us all to spread out and have plenty of room to hang out. We didn’t do much cooking there just because we were out and about a lot, but the kitchen could use a few more pots and pans. Ticks are very, very bad so be prepared for that if you are outside at the house. One morning during breakfast a Mama bear came through the backyard with two cubs, so that was very cool. All in all, it’s a great old house.
We had a great stay with our group of friends!
We had a very positive experience here! Lots of rooms, beds, bathrooms. Very clean. Good location. Plenty of parking. Our only complaints are that the kitchen is not very well stocked with pots, pans, good cutting boards or sharp knives. You may want to bring some of your own. The other challenge was that we couldn't get sound on the TV in the main living room, but we were just watching the Olympics, so it wasn't a huge problem. Also, we were asked to strip beds and start laundry, which is an unusual request for a VRBO rental, particularly when we're paying a cleaning fee. Overall, I highly recommend this house for a big group.
