One of the city’s true gems is the Mary Selby Botanical Gardens which is a 15 acre natural wonder that features beautiful plants and natural wildlife. Here you’ll find a children’s rainforest garden with a waterfall and a koi pond.


 


It was widely viewed that Sarasota was the epicentre of the 2008 housing crash. Perhaps no area of the country was hit harder than this one. However, nearly 10 years later, the housing market has rebounded fully. 


 


Schools in Sarasota are administered by the School Board of Sarasota County. The district is made up of nine high schools, nine middle schools, 24 elementary schools, six special schools, 11 charter schools, and two alternative schools. The district has consistently scored above national averages in both college testing programs and on scholastic aptitude tests.


 


Amongst the highest rated schools in Sarasota are: Tatum Ridge Elementary School, Ashton Elementary School, Suncoast Polytechnic High School, and the Sarasota school of Arts/Sciences  


 


Sarasota’s best of both worlds appeal is one of the strongest drawing points. It has fully modern amenities, access to beaches and water, and a strong sense of community.
