Granbury is in Hood County, Texas. The population here is just under 10,000 which is up from just under 8,000 back in 2010. Granbury is the principal city of the Granbury Micropolitan Statistical Area. If you were to look on a map you would find that Granbury is located approximately 35 miles Southwest of Fort Worth, Texas. According to the United States Census Bureau, Granbury is approximately 14 square miles in size with a small fraction of that being water. The climate here is humid subtropical. The summers tend to be hot and muggy where as the winters tend to be cold and windy. The hottest part of the year here goes from the beginning of June until mid September when the daily average high is just above 90 degrees. The average low for this time is around 76 degrees which is very mild for the summer time. The cold season lasts for exactly three months and starts on November 25th and ends on February 24th.You can expect the daily average high to be just about 66 degrees. The low for this time is a somewhat cold 36 degrees. The weather here varies drastically between the summer and winter months. There have been times the climate has dropped down to a frigid 24 degrees during the winter and a staggering 104 in the summer.

There are five elementary schools for grades Pre-K through fifth grade and they are the Emma Roberson Elementary School, the Oak Woods School, the Nettie Baccus Elementary School, the Mambrino School as well as the Acton Elementary School.
