Granbury is in Hood County, Texas. The population here is just under 10,000 which is up from just under 8,000 back in 2010. Granbury is the principal city of the Granbury Micropolitan Statistical Area. If you were to look on a map you would find that Granbury is located approximately 35 miles Southwest of Fort Worth, Texas. According to the United States Census Bureau, Granbury is approximately 14 square miles in size with a small fraction of that being water. The climate here is humid subtropical. The summers tend to be hot and muggy where as the winters tend to be cold and windy. The hottest part of the year here goes from the beginning of June until mid September when the daily average high is just above 90 degrees. The average low for this time is around 76 degrees which is very mild for the summer time. The cold season lasts for exactly three months and starts on November 25th and ends on February 24th.You can expect the daily average high to be just about 66 degrees. The low for this time is a somewhat cold 36 degrees. The weather here varies drastically between the summer and winter months. There have been times the climate has dropped down to a frigid 24 degrees during the winter and a staggering 104 in the summer.
Education in Granbury
When it comes to education here in Granbury there is the Granbury Independent School District. There are five elementary schools for grades Pre-K through fifth grade and they are the Emma Roberson Elementary School, the Oak Woods School, the Nettie Baccus Elementary School, the Mambrino School as well as the Acton Elementary School. There is one intermediate school for grades three through five and that is the Brawner intermediate School. There are two middle schools for students in the sixth through eighth grade and they are the Granbury Middle School as well as the Acton Middle School. There is only one high school and that is the Granbury High School. There is also an alternative academic high school by the name of STARS Accelerated High School. There are nearly 7,000 students enrolled in these school as well as almost 900 employees. Approximately half of those 900 employees are teachers and the rest are facility members.
