Athens is a midsize city in Clark County Georgia, located in the north eastern part of the state. With a population of just over 193,000, Athens is the sixth largest city in Georgia. Athens is widely known throughout the state as being a college town, home of the University of Georgia, the state’s flagship public university and home of the Georgia BullDogs.

Another popular draw is the State Botanical Garden of Georgia which covers 313 acres and operated by the University of Georgia. Amongst the top schools in Athens are: Chase Street Elementary School, Barrow Elementary School, Clark Middle School, and South Jackson Elementary School.

 

It’s possible Athens Georgia could be one of America’s more underrated cities. It’s a classic great little city that you’ve probably never heard of.
