Mandeville is located in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana. The population here back at the time of the 2010 census was 11,560. Fast forward to 2016 when a non census poll was conducted which showed that the population at that time was close to 12,500. Mandeville is actually the name of two villages in Normandy, France. The meaning of the name is “big farm” in medieval Norman French. According to the United States Census Bureau, Mandeville is 6.8 square miles in size with approximately 0.12 miles of that being water. Mandeville became incorporated all the way back in 1840. If you were to look on a map you would see that Mandeville is located on the North Shore of Lake Pontchartrain, just South of Interstate 12. This area of Louisiana is part of the New Orleans – Metairie – Kenner Metro Area.
