Fredericksburg is an Independent City that is in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The population here is just under 30,000. Located just 45 miles south of Washington D.C. and 58 miles North of Richmond this portion of Virginia is part of the Northern Virginia region and is part of the Washington – Arlington – Alexandria Metro Statistical Area. Fredericksburg was founded in 1728 and incorporated in 1781. Fredericksburg is relatively small compared to other areas of Virginia coming in at just 10.5 square miles with only a tiny portion of that being water. Fredericksburg experiences all four seasons and has a humid subtropical climate. The summers tend to be hot and humid where as the winters tend to be much cooler. The hottest parts of the year here go from the end of May until the middle of September when the daily average is around 81 degrees and the average low is just under 70 degrees. The coldest portion of the year here is from the beginning of December until the beginning of March with the average daily high is around 54 degrees. The average low for this time is around 27 degrees which means winters here can be wet and snowy. When it comes to transportation here in Fredericksburg there is The Virginia Railway Express which is a commuter rail service that connects the Northern Virginia suburbs to Union Station in Washington D.C. There are two lines: The Fredericksburg Line which operates between Washington D.C and Fredericksburg. Then there is The Manassas Line which extends from Washington D.C. to Bristow, Virginia. The addition of this commuter rail line greatly improved commuter travel when it opened back in 1992.

This park commemorates four major battles in the American Civil War – Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, The Wilderness and finally Spotsylvania. This nearly 8,400-acre park was established back in 1927 is one of the biggest tourist attractions in all of Fredericksburg. Every year more than half a million people visits this park.
-Central Park Fun – Land: This indoor/outdoor mini amusement park has everything you and your family could want. Inside there is more than 40,000 square feet of fun and games for you to experience. There is an arcade, laser tag, mini bowling and so much more. If you prefer more outdoor activities, then head on out to the seven acre outdoor play area where you will find everything from miniature golf to amusement park rides.
