Nashville is the capital and most populated city in the state of Tennessee. Nashville is the county seat of Davidson County and can be found on the Cumberland River. One of the most famous and recognizable landmarks in Nashville is the “Grand Ole Opry.” The Grand Ole Opry is a weekly country music stage concert that was founded on November 28th, 1925. It was founded by George D. Hay and at the time it was a one-hour radio “barn dance.” To this day, it is the longest running radio broadcast in United States history! This program is dedicated to honoring country music and all its history. One of the coolest things about the Opry is that it showcases everything from contemporary performers as well as bluegrass, folk and gospel music.
